He is a very good teacher. Pretty strict with the rules. he certainly knows his stuff. Do the work and you'll do fine.

Prof. Geissler is an easy-going teacher and makes class interesting. On some papers he grades a lot on grammatical error, but he really wants students to improve their writing and business learning.

Great teacher. Easy to understand, good powerpoint presentations, and pretty easy tests. If you pay attention in class, you'll have no trouble getting an A.

Had him for the 4 hour summer class in '04. Guy made the most boring details fun. Great personality. Very interactive with class. Tests are fairly easy as long as you do a little bit of studying. Homework is simple as well. Very helpful to any questions you might have.

class was pretty easy, he wants people to be in his class though.. if your late, he will look at you in a bad way, but other than that, he is a great guy. assignments online are very easy, tests are a combinatioin of the online quizzes, decent class. good teacher.

The course was well organized and his "previously recorded" lectures were avaiable online. The professor worked to ensure questions were answered and understood.

If your a business major, this class is not for you. I didnt understand what was going on. Half of the class is online. He had us designing software! HUH! Although he is nice, but if your not into computers, this class is not for you.

Its a difficult class, but managable. Just study the presentations/lectures.

This guy means business, but he's straight forward about everything. He pissed me off with his grading on writing assignments though. I got points knocked off of a perfect paper because he felt there needed to be a comma somewhere. I still got an A easily. Just do your work. If you're there to learn, he's an ideal teacher.

Professor Geissler specializes in keeping the class interesting. He is very loud and clear when he speaks. Intelligent and is fair in every way. If you're looking for a teacher who teaches, Prof. Geissler is that teacher.

He is so easy! His tests come straight from the practice tests which come from the end of the chapter review questions. He has a bunch of lectures and things online to help you, but i did not use anything. All you need to do is do the rev questions and assignments, and do the practice test about 3 times before the exam. You will get an easy A.

He is a good teacher, but he likes to take off points for stupid stuff like having your paper stapled instead of a paper clip. He claims it will train you for the future when you have to give reports to your supervisor. I mean come one STAPLES. He needs to focus more on what is on the page rather than how it is presented. switched my major to business because of him.. makes class fun and funny.. do the practice tests on blackboard about 4 times before the exams (memorize them because the questions will appear on the exam) and you will get an A.. do the online homework until you get full points.. 3x5 card on exam.. easy B.. would take him again but going to csus..

i had interest in learning word and powerpoint but after taking this class i hope to never deal with these applications again. he made learning this stuff unbearable and is way too hard on grading for an entry level class. do not take geissler for anything other than being bored to death with his uninteresting life stories.

Very straight-forward teacher. Lectures are interesting 75% of the time, boring 25% of the time but thats based on the subject. He really tries to make things enjoyable. Talks about his personal history a little, I liked that. Grades hw very literally. Doesn't always remind when hw is due, but he follows his syllabus very well. Overall, great!

Overall: Great teacher! He knows really well every aspect of the course. Helpful on every students and goes over a topic/s that seems to be hard and needs an explanation. And gives chance to students to retake an exam for them to get a better grade. Take this teacher!

I am taking his class online. Fairly easy class. Homework can be taken a countless number of times to achieve 100%. Drops lowest test score and allows up to 40 points of extra credit. Programming Assignment was difficult but the rest of the class is fairly easy. It balances out as long as you stay on top of assignments. Take with light study load!

Very good professor! Highly recommended! Decent amount of work, but not too difficult. Always very helpful and cares about his students and their learning. I learned a lot in his class and got an A.

Really good professor even though I took the class online. Didn't get to talk much one on one, but he was always willing to help through email or office hours. Learned a lot from his class and that is the most important thing.

He is a great professor, if you can keep up with the online quizzes and case study you'll do fine. His exams are a little difficult but he prepares you for extra credit jeopardy, and you can use a flash card of notes. One big thing is that he is a stickler for grammatical and spelling errors on his writing assignments, go through them to make sure they sound fluid. One of the best professors at CRC, if I could I would take him again, also very very knowledgeable about how to save some money.

Easy going and funny guy most of the time. All you need to do is read the book, ask questions, do your labs, and study. Almost always available for questions, always tries to help during the lab class time.

He's good at explaining and everything but he does get off track a lot. He also drops the lowest of 4 tests (including final) and there are really good study guides. The class isnt hard, it just takes time to really get that A. Also, if you're stuck on the hw, chances are emailing him won't help, get a friend or someone else in the class to help

Professor Geissler is a good instructor. I am currently taking his class online so there is minimal face to face interaction, but he answers emails promptly. He is very clear about his expectations from the student and it is easy to succeed if one completes all assignments as directed. The student has to learn material on their own it's online.

This professor is my favorite so far! Anybody that complains about this class does not study. As simple as that. A lot of complaints about his grading on grammar, so what, you're learning. Rules: Don't come late, if you get a call, he will answer it or if you get a text he will read it out loud. Read the book. He drops lowest test score. I have a high B in the class, and that is only because i missed a few assign's. Work is available from day 1. He is very kind, cares very much about your future. Too bad he doesn't teach CISP.

I wouldn't recommend Professor Geissler to anyone who is looking for an "easy A". This class is for the students who actually want to learn the material. His class is pretty challenging but as long as you put in the effort, you can pass the class.

Tough teacher. However he is intelligent and no nonsense. He does have an interest in his students succeeding in life but give you tough love. He is a stickler with grammar and spelling. It is not an English class and I wish he was more lenient on this aspect. Take English before is class, I also wish he gave pop quizzes after the lecture he gave.

He is strict on grammar; I learned that the hard way. But I don’t blame him since he does that for our best interests. If you can’t proofread a measly 5-6 sentence paragraph, you don’t deserve an A on that assignment. The class was relatively easy; just remember to read before coming to class. If you read the material and make sure you use proper grammar, you should do just fine. It's more than just bland lectures, he wants to make sure you can apply the knowledge so he does really care. Would highly recommend.

Great class, learned A LOT. Very strict on grammar, punctuation... so if you don't write great englist, don't take the course. If you want to do well you must be very disciplined & dedicate a lot of time. You won't regret it though.

I took his online summer course for CISC 310 and it was challenging but definitely not impossible. I was able to get an A, you just have to stay on top of the assignments. He is very particular on the writing portion of the assignments except for the discussion boards so make sure you review your assignments at least 3 times before you turn it in.

Definitely not an easy professor, but not the hardest either. If you are attentive to detail and communicate with him, you'll find he's more than fair.

Great and helpful professor! Responds to emails in a timely manner and always gives clear directions. Makes full use of the book. Gives you opportunities to bump your grade if you're close to the next one. RECOMMEND!

Dr. Geissler is very responsive and doesn't take it personal if you challenge him on the way he grades assignments. I loved Dr Geissler's class! It shouldn't be too hard to pass as long as you pay attention and do the reading, as well as all of the assignments, which was my shortcoming. Would highly recommend this jolly German to anyone who actually wants to learn

I love this professor! He's very funny and I like listening to his lectures. I take online classes, so there's pre-recorded lectures already. He's detailed and each time I've emailed him, he has gotten back to me fairly quickly. I hope to take a class that has him as the professor again next semester.

Overall, a pretty good guy who will answer your questions. He definitely knows his stuff when it comes to the subject matter. He also has a great sense of humor.

The ratemyprof reviews scared me, but he's not that bad. I like that he clearly states what is expected of you. Tons of assignments but they aren't terribly difficult. Just show up and read the book. He gives 8 "pop" quizzes. Sometimes he tells you when he's going to give one, and when he doesn't you can usually guess when the next one will be.

Dr. Geissler is refreshingly "old school." He has expectations. His online course is probably the best I have taken yet and reflects his personality. Well structured, lots of diverse material, it challenges but not overwhelm one. Very helpful and accessible during office hours and via email. I'd certainly take him again as I learned a lot.

Although this is an introductory course, be prepared to PROOFREAD YOUR PAPERS AND HOMEWORK! He marks many points for grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors. Geissler's CISC 310 was a fun class, I learned a lot. He grades hard on the hands on assignments, you just have to make sure that you follow the directions and pay attention to detail. exams were easy he give you a practice exam to study from. the chapter quizzes were hard but you can take them as many times to get a better grade.

Dr. G is an amazing person and professor. I really like his style- unlimited attempts on online hw before the due date, online practice exams, study guides, etc. He really sets you up for success, whether you do the work is up to you.

Easy online class. Read the chapters, do the hw (not hard), do the quizzes, do the online discussions, and show up for the final. Some quiz and final questions are specific so be careful. Prof. helps you out if you have questions.

Easily the best Computer Professor I've had so far. He really does set you up for success! But as a student you need to do your part. Yes he does take away point for errors on grammar and punctuation but this is college people. Therefore you are expected to write at a college level.

Straight forward online class. Quizzes were allowed multiple times to score 100%. Discussions were simple. Exams were from the same question bank as quizzes. The assignments were graded hard. The lectures are long and he goes off subject sometimes. Extra credit was provided but wasn't needed to get an A. Lots of work.

Easy A if you do work. Lectures were long and off topic. He was out of country during my course and the assistant answered questions.

Took this class online. Professor Geissler provides clear directions on assignments, quizzes, and discussions, and due dates. The assignments take quite a bit of time to complete and are not easy. Grading was quick. There is a lot of work but you will learn a lot. It was stressful during the class but at the end I was glad that I took this class.

He may have a direct tone or loud tone at times, but I don't think it's anything personal against the students. It's just the way he is I suppose. Overall, it was an easy class and he keeps the students engaged by asking questions from the reading material.

He makes expectations very clear from the beginning. what you are learning is important, computer networking/security, you will be forced to learn it if you want a decent grade. final was semi proctored on zoom. he has high availability via email unlike some others in CIS...

Have great experience in 430 and 440. Everything is clearly laid out at the beginning, know the structure and composition of the course right away. The grading and responses are quick, and there are PTTs, videos, and more. While I do need to learn and complete everything on my own, the course is well-organized and supports independent learning.
