Topics are interesting. Professor Gallarde is very helpful. Gives out copies of the powerpoint lectures so you don't have to write everything down. Study the exam review and the notes and you'll get at least a B!!!

Sociology 101 with Professor Gallarde was my favorite class of all. She makes this class very interesting and even shares some of her personal experiences that relate to the topics. Spring 07. Very knowledgeable; interesting subject. Attendance is mandatory as you get valuable participation points. If you study, the tests are easy. She well go beyond to assist you anytime. You walk away with a new view and new knowledge of the world and the people in it.

I got tired of listening to this teacher talk. Everything that comes out of her mouth is about OC. We do not live in Orange County. She subconsciously refers to the way she looks. Anyways the class was ok. 2 tests & final plus in class assingments. Make sure you participate in class or she WILL get mad.

I found her class enjoyable. There was something that came a little odd. I asked her to view a paper and told me as is I sohould recieve an 85%. I had plenty of points in class. I decided to consentrate on my other class instead of revising my paper for soc. After submitting my paper for grading she gave me a 70% I found that a little weird.

Took her for Criminology in a Distance Learning Class. Easiest class I have ever taken. Barely read and did the discussion board every week. Finished the projects she has you work on in about a time span of maybe 2-3 hours and still received an "A" on it. Did every single exam and essay the last week of school and still got the "A" in her class. EZ

Took her course online and I will tell everyone this. If you are taking an online class, be prepared to do A LOT Of reading. She will answer questions and give people extra credit opportunities. This was a fairly easy online class and I would highly recommend it as a first time online class for anyone who is interested in taking it.

I took her Criminology course as my first class, and I loved it. You do have to pay attention, read a lot, and take notes, but this is why you are in college, right? The class is really easy as long as you don't miss class too much and do all the things you're supposed to do. She gives you the option to do your exams with a partner. As long as you frame your answers to directly answer the questions, you'll be fine. Lots of extra credit!

She is an amazing professor. I received an A in her class. I was able to attend every class and actually enjoy learning about all the things that we would talk about. She made the class a lot more interesting than when I took it before with someone else and I got an F.

She made me pretty interested in Sociology. We got to do small "experiments" for assignments to test whether some theories or concepts were true. Her online homework was not hard, it just required a little time and her online exams were really easy. She also held reviews even though it was not mandatory for her to. I definitely recommend her.

This is the 2nd online class I have taken with P. Gallarde. She may be a little strict but that's only to avoid cheaters. She is very thorough & the assignments are not at all difficult as long as you give good and lengthy feedback on the chapters. The videos she assigns are generally short & very interesting. This class was supposed to be a hybrid online/on campus class, but Gallarde didn't even show up the first day, neither did she the next week. This class then turned into an online course, & we only went on campus for the final. Overall easy course, just do all the assignments. Quizzes are based on readings & final is based off all the assignments.

Easiest GE I have ever taken in my life. As long as you do the assignments, you get 100% for them. Quizzes and tests are not easy to get an A, however, 100% on other work help you balance the bad grades out. Definitely should take her online class in short terms. I got 100.78% for the class. Yeah, what?!?

At first I was not sure if taking this online class in the summer was a good idea because I was already taking math. This was such a great course. My only regret was not taking her on campus. Her tests and quizzes are not easy but the assignments are. You can still get An A! There is lots of extra credit! No excuse to not get an A. I loved it.

This is the easiest A you could ever recieve at Mt Sac! Not hard at all!! Good for taking during summer and winter and even fall because the course is only 8 weeks long anyway! A good choice if you want to learn about sociology, but don't want to be overwhelmed with work. Took her for winter intersession and the class is more than doable. Don't expect the nicest teacher, she's straight to the point. But she's also amazing. The best way I can describe is that she's very strict about her rules, but her rules are pretty relaxed. She never asks for too much and she also is very organized and on top of her game. A great teacher, fully recommend.

I took Professor Gallarde's class (SOC1) during Fall 2020 semester online. I took the 8-week online course offered for this class so the pace was much quicker but it was a very easy class and I absolutely loved it. As long as you put some effort in to do the weekly readings (it's not a lot) and participate in the discussion posts, you'll do fine!

Super easy class. Had discussions to complete which weren't that bad, and exams were multiple choice. If you want to avoid writing a lot, this is the course to take.

I was taking her class in winter 2021 and I really liked her. We had weekly discussions and I believe 2 Analysis papers(you get to chose between three) to write. The easiest class I've taken. As long as you do her weekly discussions you will be fine. There will also be a journal entry (I forgot the name) that you have to do which is easy. She will also let you skip a weekly discussion and a journal entry and you can do those two that you skipped as extra credit by the end end of the semester.

If you need an easy class for credit, TAKE MARLENE FOR SOC 1!Textbook is free online and the majority of the class are discussion posts, analysis, and 3 quizzes. Engage with the posts and have a basic understanding of the concepts and you will pass. Anyone who doesn't pass did not put effort or even try. So easy to fit in your busy schedule.

I took this class for 8 weeks and it was amazing. The textbook is online and she provides a link, there are weekly discussion posts, a few quizzes, and one final exam. I have a busy schedule with both work and other classes but this class was very manageable. I would highly recommend taking this professor she is a very fair grader.

Your instructions for the week come by announcement, There is a set schedule for the semester for each type of assignment: these are due Wed, that is due Fridays,etc..
