She cares about students.

This is one of the best professors Miami Dade Homestead has. I have never seen anyone so excited to come and teach. Her grading system shows mercy and there are opportunities for extra credit regularly. Her commitment to students extends outside of the classroom as she is always available.

I had her as a prof many years ago and she is quite the evangelical ChristianBeautiful lady, thoughBut she is very very religious, manMy Jewish self did not really go for that!

Dr. Groomes is well respected among her students.She always makes the time to lend a hand or an ear. I found her class very informative, her outgoing personality and delightful sense of humor makes each class a adventure in learning. She touches the heart and soul of all she comes in contact with.

Dr. Groomes, is a passionate professor. She is very smart and is eager to share her knowledge with her students. She expects a lot from her students, so be prepared to work! Although she is hard you are guaranteed an A that you truly deserve. With a positive attitude you will do well.

she has high expectations of her students and she does care about them. all long as you try you will pass the class with a A or B.

I had her for 3 classes and I love each one! Shes not only a teacher..shes a friend! I wish I still lived in Florida.. Shes awesome!

Dr. Groomes is a real sweet lady. Sometimes, the class is frustrating regarding deadlines for assignments and such, but the work is fairly easy. She's fair and you'll learn a lot, not only about the course itself, but life. She is very intelligent and experienced. Overall, I enjoyed the course.

eh, I'm kinda on the border about her. On one hand I learned some interesting things, and the class was reasonably easy. On the other hand she can make some off hand comments, picks on people who don't participate and shows favortism. If you want to do well in her class participate and be VERY cordial.

I thought she was a pretty nice teacher. She can act a little crazy at times but she means well. She sometimes makes you feel you are in elementary school again. But the class is pretty easy. Barely any H.W. about 2 tests and they are not that hard. If you are looking for a class that isnt that much work during the semester than she is your girl

A bit heavy on the favoritism but she cares greatly about her students and is very fun and interesting to listen to, would definitely take her again.

Really enjoyed her class! You won't find many people more highly qualified than her, plus she's very interesting and exceptionally helpful and caring.

She's a little on the flaky side, but as most people know psycologists tend to be that way. Other than that shes a very intelligent vey sweet lady. She treats everyone with respect. She's a good teacher.

She's awesome! By far the best teacher Ive had at MDC. I took her twice, and both classes I got As in! I would recommend her to anyone needing a behavioral Science credit. Her projects are a bit intense, but purposeful. She cares about her students, and wants them to succeed. Take her!

Took online. I found that it was a very easy class. Read the chapter, take the test, and after every 5 chapters, write a 500 reflective essay. or you could write a 2000 word research paper. no extra credit, but nothing much is needed if you just read the chapter and use the book to take the test.

Really great professor!!! Really funny too. She is a really easy grader, quizzes are easy just make sure you read. DO All THE EXTRA CREDIT!!! trust me

Excelent, the best professor I have had in MDC. She cares for her students. She is very easygoing and fair at grading. Opportunity for extra credit are abundant. She wants you to get an A & will go the extra mile for you to do so. Don't be scared of her parking lots, instead take them & apply them to your life. I would re-taker her again blind fold

Many projects, easy class, we had a lot of fun. She was down to earth. Very helpful. Loves to talk. Weird parking lots but fun. Enjoyed her class very much. Fair grading. Every one got an A in her class. Strongly recommend her for DEP2000

I loved her. I made that class fun & she went along. Very respectful, educated, smart, & helpful. She loves to have fun in a class as long as we all respect each other. Act mature enough & you will enjoy the class like we did. Very fair at grading. Plenty of extra credit opportunities. Parking Lots were interesting to discus but hard to apply. A+++

It is extremely EASY to get an A in her class but she talks about herself too much and she spends half of the class time trying to work WEBCT. She required us to bring a dictionary to class and implies that we may not understand the "big" words she says to us, however, she cannot even spell half of them. Overall EASY A but I wouldnt take her again.

The class was a lot of fun.. 2 test, one is a writing assignment and the other is mutiple choice with 2 essays (which she gives you prior to taking the test). She gives a lot extra credit oppurtunities. She's a little crazy but i enjoyed the class.

It is very easy to get an A in her class. She only gives 2 tests but alot of homework assignments. Do not take her if you have a very busy schedule. Likes impromptu, spur of the moment assignments. She likes it when we are happy ALL of the time and HATES if class is interrupted for any reason. However, if you do all her work, you will get an A!

Although the class was easy, it wasn't exacty a pleasure to see the professor twice a week. The previous comments say it best... Dr. Groomes seems to forget that she isn't our therapist - she's supposed to be our teacher. I shouldn't feel reluctant about attending a human growth and development class.

I absolutely loved this class & Professor Groomes!! She is so much fun and made this course so interesting. I never thought that psychology would be so interesting!! I would highly recommend this class & look forward to next term when I have another one with her.

Dr. Groomes is a great professor, i've actually taken her twice. Dr.Groomes is the type of professor that at some instances will rather give a life lesson than text book material. The things learned in her class will stick with you. However you do have to be open-minded though! Overall great experience. Easy A! Love Her!!!!

Personally, I loved Dr. Groomes' classes (I've taken two with her) but generally guys will hate her class and girls will love it. She's all about female empowerment and focuses a lot on fetal development and the impacts our choices have on our children. As a future mother, it was very interesting but I can see why some people can't really relate.

She was wonderful! I am going to take her next semester for psychology too! She is helpful and amazing, forgetful at times but simply wonderful! Best experience with a professor so far!

Online into to psy class. Just read the book and take the tests. Discussions are required but straightforward. Test questions are detailed (you must read text, even captions) but straightforward. Not tricky or intentionally complicated.

Easy A+, she is very kind, fun,and smart. This lady knows her stuff. At first you second guess the class, but you end up learning things you can take with you. I would recommend this class for someone starting out with there first year in college.

Very easy class. Just be enjoyable. Does NOT like to repeat herself,ask her after class. However, if you're dedicated she jut may surprise you. She's a good teacher with A LOT of history. She makes it real easy to pass her class. however, remember you're in college NOT highschool.

Dr. Groomes is a wonderful professor! I thought she was very helpful. She is a great person. Her class was challenging but she made it fun. Come as a college student who is willing to learn and be taught. She does not baby laziness or procrastination!

She is only nice if you're on her good side, which is not to get on. She gives massive amounts of extra credit, and she's very understanding. Make sure to do ALL of her work, many students pass with A+'s in the classes taught by her. However, you won't learn much. This class is good for the credit, and to raise GPA, but she hardly teaches anything.

This class is very easy, and her methods make you learn. She makes the class really fun and not stuck up. She gives a lot of extra credits so if you don't pass the class.... something is wrong with you. She's real nice and understandable, she works with all kind of situations. Overall is was a good semester, and I recumbent taking this class!

I highly enjoyed the course as well as I did her DEP2000 course. Dr. Groomes is not an elementary teacher and will not baby you through the course. If you meet the maturity and responsibility level required for this course, I highly recommend it. She makes learning fun and encourages students to do beyond their best.

She's a great professor, I have to admit at the beginning of the semester i didn't like her i thought she was going to be hard but i was wrong she wants her students to success just respect her and don't use your phone in her class and you will be fine she gives tons of extra credit in my class even students i thought wouldnt get A's did,shes great

At first i thought i wasnt going to like her but when i got to know her shes a a great prof. cares about the students success and gives tons of extra credit its easy to get an A even students that i thought would get lower grades got an A,but does not like to repeat herself if you need to talk to her do it after class *hint don't use your phone ;)

I don't understand why people have such negative feedback about Dr. Groomes. She is absolutely amazing!! She is helpful, understanding and caring. I would choose her for any course again if she wasn't retiring. She gives many opportunities to have extra credit but you have to put forth your effort. Pay attention and don't play on your phone!

This class was online and she is the first professor I have that makes their blackboard page seem like its being explained to you in person. She is very clear on what she expects, would comment back funny engaging things and her assignments not only made sense but were inviting as well. I honestly wish i got the chance to physically be in her class
