Class is easy as long as you do all the readings, which wasn't bad. Have to do a 8 page research paper, but it is a all semester process and she will read 3 rough drafts. She is way cool.
Great Professor! Spontaneous and funny! I took her for Intensive Spanish and loved it too! She's very dedicated in teaching. About 20% of the students in class have taken her class before. It shows you what a great Professor she is!
Just the best for Intensice Spanish there is You will learn the languange and have fun while doing it Very cool teacher and tons of fun in class.
She tries hard to teach. Too much to learn if you only know English. Gets fustrated when you don't understand. Online work is easy. Just attend class, do the work, and hope for the best.
Ms. Temes is a wonderful teacher. I took her Latin American Humanities class, Spanish I, and will take her next semester as well for Spanish II. She is funny, cares about her students, and dedicated to the education of her students. A Must Take Course!

It was a three hour class and I could have stayed longer. She keeps things interesting.She let us bring snacks for the whole class.I want to take her again even if I don't need that class.
Excellent and an easy summer class. She is thorough, helpful, and confident. Just speak up if you have something intelligent to add.
Professor Temes is a very interesting women with alot of experience. I learned more in this class then ne other class I have ever taken. Sometimes she can be tough but it's only b/c she cares about what she is teaching. I like how liberal she is and will say whatever her opinion is. I looked forward to going to this class every week.

Alright, I have a 3.5 gpa and in my 5 semesters at Valencia never have I had to drop a class or deal with such a nasty teacher.Don't ask for help she just might bite your head off(literally) and if you have an opinion that is in any way against hers your screwd for the rest of the semester.She is not helpful AT ALL .Bottom line don't take her.
Tries to act 21. All she talks about the whole semester is how she hates teaching and she can't wait to go to Spain. She's verry rude and disrespectful. If she's having a bad day, she takes it out on her students. Actually, good day or bad she still puts her students down and makes un needed comments. She has really low self esteem and it shows.
She is one of the worst ever she treats people like**** and she only cares about herself if you want to pass do not take her she says something then turns around with something else and she only talks about traveling here and there if u actually want to learn dont take her if u want to pass worst mistake ever!!!!!!!!!
God forbid you be pregnant in this class. She will not stop with nasty comments about having kids. And she really does talk about traveling to much. What she needs to do is teach and listen to the students, not bite off their heads if they ask a question. I've had her twice now and I'm sorry I gave her a second chance.
She is a Itch with a B in front of it...there are much better professors that teach the spanish Language. I got a C in her basic spanish class, now i just finished elem. spanish 2 with an A with another professor. So...i dont think i was the reason i recieved a C in her class.
Great teacher! Had her for intro to humanities and latin american humanities. If I hadn't finish with my humanities requirements already I'd take a class with her again. Yes "traveling" enters the topic, but come on, if you are talking about ancient Rome’s art you got to say what remains there!
Ms. Temes is an excellent teacher and is very knowledgeable. She will answer your questions if you need help and will take time in her office to help you one on one with anything you need in the class. She explains the readings very well and helps you understand what you need to know. Do the work in class and the class will be easy the whole semest

When it comes to Latin American Humanities, she knows what she's talking about. I knew nothing and she opened up my eyes to so much. There is a paper at the end of the semester that is due, but that is to be expected of a Gordon Rule Class. Very helpful and will work with you if you need one on one. I would reccomend her to anyone.
I cant imagine mrs.temes being some of these things others have written. She will sit in her office and help you as long as it takes, in class she always makes sure we get it before moving on. This is an easy spanish class to pass, whats wrong with you guys.

She was alright. A little sarcastic. The class overall wasn't hard. 3 research assignments. And lots of quizes but if you dothe reading thenight before they're easy. Test are a lot of short ans writing, but she gives you ALL the queations. Overall liked the class.

Class as pretty easy but on quizes and test she wants essays instead of short concise and to the point answers. Would not recommend.
She is a ridiculous grader. You will literally have to know every detail of everything. She seems to mark off points just if she doesn't agree with you. She says she's open minded.. but I don't see it. If you're looking for a teacher who's distracted and just rants about things all class instead of teaching.. then take her.
Prof Temas is by far the best teacher in valencia and that I have every taken. The class is challenging and fun. She is very funny&honest. The class is clear w/ the requirements.Always looked forward to Prof T. discussions. is the example of what a professor should aspire to be: inspiring and committed to students. Take her in any class you can!
Funny and interesting. Simply a well teacher. Is well travel and brings a lot of past experiences to her class room. You will have to study and do your work, but that is any students responsibility. Take her if you can!

Professor Temes is a prime example of what makes learning fun. It's hard to describe how valued she is a a teacher. She makes things fun, interesting, and hilarious. I am not a morning person, but I felt horrible if I had to miss one of her classes because I enjoyed her as a teacher so much! TAKE HER!
She rocks! Anyone who is offended by her needs to realize they are in the real world now. This is college guys and if you are wanting to have a teacher open your eyes to the world and things it has to offer you, take Professor Temes. She is hilarious, keeps you guessing, and requires you to think critically, if this is too much then, wow!
She is thought-provoking, interesting, funny, charismatic, smart and an amazing example of what to strive to become as a human being. When did constructive critism become being mean and rude? Clearly those people need a little more critiquing. When you get out in the real world, you will be thankful for people like Professor Temes. She cares!
Teaches the class with life experience and text book material. Best of all Professor Temes is enthusiastic about life...the kind of enthusiasm that both prepares you realistically and motivates you to strive harder.

Unfair teacher
She is horrible. If you want to learn things and get good grades do not take her. I went to her for help and she told me I am just "not college ready." Um, excuse me I have straight a's and I am on the dean's list! I am just warning all of you, she is horrible!!! Do not take her!!
Well, she knows her material, she is unreasonable with her grading, Dont expect help if you need it. I actually think I could have learned the same amount by just reading the book on my own. Would not advice taking this class with her.

This teacher is out of her mind. She needs help! she does not know how to grade papers and her grading system doesn't add up. This is the first class i didn't get an A in. She told me that i shouldn't got to school and needed to drop out when i asked her a question. I don't think any teacher should talk to a student like that. I hope they fire her
She is pretty awesome.. shes a cool teacher.. loves the topic and likes to have discussions. Her class is kinda hard, but she makes it soo interesting.i always looked forward to going to her class. she tells funny stories and helps you understand. make sure you read whatever is assigned and be detailed with your answers.
This lady will NOT return your e mails. This online class is a joke. Her quizzes consist of 6 impossible questions that are tricky as hell. She will quiz you on material that has not yet been covered or was not in the Learning Modules. I should have studied more reviews before signing up for this one. I need this to graduate so I must take the C.

Impossible to know what she wants. Gives one set of guidelines in rubric/assignment, but grades on whim. Refuses to leave feedback so that students can learn from their mistakes. Anyone can deliver opinions, but few can teach. Unfortunately, Temes prefers preaching to teaching. Stay away!
Ms. Temes is a great professor! She makes the class fun & verryy interesting! Just make sure to read the readings because she will give quizzes on what you've read. & the readings are super interesting. she gives you a sheet with 20 questions to study & only 5 will be on the Test. Loved this class!! Not one day went by that I did not laugh in her class. really good professor! (:
I am sooo disapointed with this teacher I can't believe how unfair she is, her grading system doesn't make sense I was passing my class until she gave us a research paper which I turned in on the due date
ONLINE The modules are longer than books. Her due dates are completely inconsistent & will throw you off. I tried to talk with peers in a discussion & got in trouble for expressing my opinion. Her quizzes are really hard. Mid & Final are essay format. A lot of discussions, group project, & tests that are weekly. Hard class & hard to keep up with.
If you are like me and HATES the humanities and just wants easy A's in them, don't take her. Her mood dictates your grade and I will KNEEL in AWE of whoever solves the ever perplexing, mind bending and mortifying enigma which is her grading system. If not for the B I got in her class, I would have had six A's.
This is by far the worst professor i've ever had! She's completly vulgar and totally unprofessonial. She doesnt return calls, is never in her office on office hours, and if you need a class to pass don't take this one. You'll walk out learning nothing more than her opionion on things that dont matter & her sexual frustrations. Horrible professor!
Professor Temes is not a bad professor at all. If you do not have a sense of humor and you want a class where you don't learn ANYTHING... She is not the one. She makes the class very interesting and funny and I found all the students in my class enjoying it. Make sure you read what is needed, and you will do better than fine! It's college, people!
Professor Temes is a very interesting professor who provides a lot of insight. This is A COLLEGE class, so if you think this is a hard class, I feel sorry. You must read everything she gives you and there are EASY quizzes. She GIVES you the questions for the exams. What more do you want? She maakes the class interesting with her stories. Love her!

Took her for LA Hum, for the most part I loved it. She is very funny but if you're not the type of person to understand her sense of humor you might take it personally. I found her a bit inappropriate at times... but over all I liked her. The class is not hard at all. She tells you everything you need to know and inputs personal experience as well.
I have her for my current 20th Century HUM class and she is very nice. A bit colorful with her words and definatly not for everyone. If you are sensative then pick someone else. I personally find her fun and makes the class entertaining. Her tests are essay but you get the questions the class before hand to study. If you try, you will get an A.
By no means is this class easy. She definitely makes you work for your grade. She gave a quiz every class period and her tests are extremely hard bc they are essay formed and she does grade on her opinions even if she says she doesnt. I did enjoy her lessons bc she doesnt care if she offends you are not. Interesting class.

Personally, i hate humanities or anything that has to do with history but my past teachers at least made the class somewhat interesting, this class was just horrible and so is her grading system.
This woman is so rude I want to send her an email putting her in her place. Her rubrics for assignments are vague and when you give her what she asks she does not grade fairly. I will not recommend her to anyone!! This was suppose to be a fun class and she ruined it!!
She has a sarcastic personality. She's straight to the point, but sometime difficult to take it all in. Very harsh grader. Her tests are in essay format and if she doesn't like your answer, you'll get the whole question wrong. Hard to please. Not very clear in what she wanted. If you take her, just be ready for the wild ride.
I'm taking her right now. Let me just start off by saying she's horrible - most classes she talks about traveling, and her personal interests. Along with that she has a very sarcastic attitude and would rather make nonsensical jokes rather than teach. However this class is an easy A if you just try to please her humor in your work.
If you can't handle someone wtih a sarcastic personality and you take it personally then Professor Temes isn't a good fit for you. I find her very hilarious and fun. She does give quizzes almost every class. As long as you read the material you'll get an easy 100 on the quizzes. She also gives study questions to help as well as a study test guide.
Took this course online and it was pretty easy. I got a B due to some technical issues with blackboard but I would recommend her online course. No textbook needed as course material is all online.
Absolutely horrible. Nothing is straight forward. Do not try to look up ideas for papers online, she gives a zero if your paper has 2 words off another paper. Lots of discussions, quizzes are hard and are only in place to fail you.

Marlene Temes is one of the worst teachers I've had at Valencia. She is not willing to help her students at all. Overall is is very rude and spend her time only talking about herself and her traveling.

Professor Temes was by far the most rude, sarcastic, difficult & unhelpful professor I've met at Valencia College. She showed no regard nor credit and dropped me as a no show although I had completed the online assignments! And this was one of the last courses i needed to graduate. Please, do not take her. Find a professor who is understanding.

Tough grader, doesn't care! I took this class online and the first thing she did was mess up on the syllabus and put the incorrect book. When I emailed her to pls give me a one day extension because she had informed us to buy the incorrect book she basically brushed me off. ( I was not the only one with this issue as I emailed the entire class)

I'm taking this class online and had assumed it would be easy, I mean mythology how hard can it be? Well with this professor it's hard only because she makes it hard. I regret taking her and wanted to withdraw from the course. I usually obtain all A's yet with this class I barely have a C. Her ways of grading disgust me and make me laugh.

Absolutely DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. Here is why.. -Not CLEAR AT ALL on the expectations for a paper -Acts like she does not care about her students -No Grade Rubric -Suggestion questions to ask yourself while writing a paper, yet does not want you to answer those particular questions in the paper but rather "think deeper." **SAVE YOUR GPA
I am a dual enrollment student. I was not able to complete a quiz due to the fact that I would be out of the country for a week. She said and I quote "you'll just have to miss these assignments if you're unable to do them". Basically saying, enjoy your failing grade. I don't recommend, this was my grade at stake and she was not understanding at all
First of all, the teacher emails you back after a couple of days. The test is timed, 15 minutes only for 6 questions. The questions are tricky and the teacher uses synonymous instead and riddle style. She canceled a third of four papers at the worst moment and every student was affected by this measure. She brings us a textbook that doesn't details
The course seems interesting but the questions in the quizzes are not clear and hard to understand and too tight to answer regardless of how much you study or understand the text or learning modules that the professor prepares for the class. You need to guess the answer because they are not directly found in her unclear learning modules.
The WORST professor I have ever had in my life. She asks for your view on thinks and then shoots you down saying it's not about your what you think, it's about what the text book is saying. What do you want then? She needs to be more specific. I don't ever want to her as a professor for any other class. She is the worst of the worst.
I took her Mythology class. Only 20 assignments all semester, including the final. Responds in less than 24 hours usually. I was confused on one assignment, but she helped clarify. Make sure you read the materials for an easy A.
Although the information was interesting, Professor Themes was not a delight to have. It was difficult to get my point across when writing emails to her, the feedback she gave on my posts were not helpful and almost snarky remarks. She wanted us to think outside the box and give our own answers, but said they were wrong when we submitted them.
OK. Not a difficult class but there's probably better professors for this course.
no assignments only heavily weighted "quizzes" material from poorly executed notes and a resource guide "works cited" that doesn't align with any of the material. the quizzes are worded poorly and with a lot of typos. she has the old-school professor vibe slightly flexible if you miss something but after shaming you passive-aggressively.
