Class is very interesting. There are discussions are debates every class. Very tough grader on essays. Doesn't care what you write, only how you write it. Let' you rewrite essays you did bad in and picks best grade from midterm and final exam.

I don't have onw bad remark to say about Professor Hamma. She is very straight forward with any mistakes in your writing which can only make you better. There is not a lot of asigned reading whivh is great. This is the first English class I enjoy going to. I would another class with her any day.

I learned a lot in her class, she is a great teacher to take. I got a C in English 28 but got an A in Eng.101. Class partcipation is imp. and her essay topics are easy but you have to put a lot of time and effort into it. If you are thinking of taking 101, take it with her.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I was motivated to work hard, and the subject matter was fresh. She was always there to answer questions. And, if you're willing to put effort into the class you'll find it's worth while. Plus, it doesn't hurt that she's Hot! Oh, yeah, and smart.

Professor Hamma is the best teacher at Pierce. She is funny, interesting, extremely helpful and she has classic beauty. This class is not easy but you will learn a lot and if you ask her for help you can find out what she expects instead of being surprised when you get your grade. i personally hate the subject english, i hate writing essay's but her class i actually enjoyed it. she's a great teacher; she gets you into the class. by far she would always be my favorite english teacher, (even though i'm not an english major.) but if you have to work for your grade.

you should not hesitate to take professor hamma's class.It is pleasant to participate in class.You will not do embarassing things like you would in other english classes.The reading that is assigned to you will all be covered in class as well.You will learn how write in a college tone.She is beautiful because she helps you succeed on your essays.

I was scared of getting a D in this class but I ended up getting a B. Her essays can seem very intimidating at first but once you figure the way she wants it structured, you'll be fine. Has two tests on readings but they are open book, and if that still doesnt wanna make you take this class. She is gorgeous.

At first the teacher seemed cold, but then when I approached her for help during her office hours I realized that in fact she was nice and helpful. Be prepared to read and to participate in class. If you know how to write a good essay, I would definitly reccomend this teacher.

You really need to talk in class b/c its worth 10% of ur grade and if you do she usually gives you a better grade on ur essay compared to people who do not. Always have your essay proofread by her so you can at least get a B. If you get it read twice you will an A for sure. SHe lets you rewrite one essay. Last she is a easy B but work for A.

She either drinks red bull before class or is biologically energetic. If you're a good writer this class will be amazing. I HATED English before her class, yet her lectures and essays I enjoyed. Prob the only teacher at Pierce with a great personality and energized attitude. (plus shes hott)

3 Books used The Writing Process, Into Thin Air (novel) and A book with articles from newspapers in U.S. This instructor is always cheerful. Is a lot of work for summer semester but if you stick with it, it turns out not being so bad. If you take your essays in during office hours, she will edit them-thus possibly improving your grade.

An angel. I took her in summer '05 (Eng 101). She genuinely cares about her students and about her subject matter. She is very insightful and encourages open-minded discussions. She has a concrete curriculum designed to hone your writing skills for future college assignments. I regret not approaching her for help. She is very warm and friendly.

When I took her for eng 101 she inspired me to be an over all better student. She has an endearing quirky personality with a dash of anal-ness! It’s worth it to take her class!

Very enjoyable class. A lot of talking and debating between students, she isn't closed minded when you have an idea. The instructions for the writing assignments are given EXACTLY HOW SHE WANTS THEM. Just follow what she asks you and you're gold. And don't miss any classes or you're in some trouble.

I highly recommend her!you will learn a lot!you will have a socratic seminar based on the book called MAUS. Be sure to talk in order to get an A on the socratic seminars=50% of grade. Paragraphs are easy. To have A on paragraphs, be sure to do the drafts(it is not graded and make it like its final draft even its not) and let her proof read it.

Plus I got an A..I let her proof read my paragraphs and got an A. easy grader. as long as you to the work you'll be fine. if you want to have an A, follow how her style of writing. Its not that hard. do all the journals, activities in the book, A's the socratic seminar and mid-term but fail the final test, you'll still have an A.

Nice and helpful. She is very enthusiastic about her job. Too bad her lessons are hampered by the required "SLOs". She enjoys discussing philosophical ideas (and her cat, which is not a bad thing). Grading is easy and I would highly recommend her for this class.

This professor is awesome. The essays she asks for is really simple. If you are good at bs'ing and can make it sound true then you'll get an A. I don't find myself a good bs'er but just provide lots of examples to argue your point and you're golden.

She has great Socratic Seminars which is fun because you get to hear other students input on the reading. She is very kind and helpful - take her!

She makes the class very interesting, she's clear with her lectures, she gives you a lot of notes on correct formatting for your essays, and she's always making sure that the students understand the material. Such a great Pierce professor. I took her for English 102 and although I was prepared after 101 I enjoyed her humor, the engagement of her socratic seminars, and her clarity in writing structures. I felt like a good writer before this but she showed me so many helpful ways to approach writing that most teachers don't suggest or tell us.

Prof hamma is great, she is extremely clear with her lecture , easy to understand and always helpful. If you put effort you are guaranteed an A, I took her for 101 an I learned so much with her, she made me feel comfortable with writing and taught me writing skills that will last me a lifetime. Great Teacher! 5 in class debates, 4 essays and about 12 socratic seminars that are super easy. All you have to do is make sure that you talk in class and do the essays making sure that MLA format is followed. She is super nice and will pre-read essay at office hours. Take her if possible. ^-^

Fantastic teacher! Easy assignments as long as you stay up to date with her. Gives decent feedback and always willing to discuss with you. A slow grader and doesn't reply to emails but straight forward in class. Assignments are pretty clear and she is super understanding. Lectures are her pre-made power points that she edits in class. The professor is amazing, she makes English not as scary as it seems. She breaks it down in plain English. Her lectures are amazing and interesting, she has the students engaged in the class. She has the students do group work in the long term it does help with the class. She is always available during her office hours to help with assignments.

I took her for Eng. 101 during the Fall, and she was a great professor. Her essay assignments are long, and your final essay is 8-10 pages but if you take notes and listen to her feedback, you should be fine! She's really nice and will help you whenever you ask. She also gives you a point tracker in the syllabis so you can keep track of your grade.

I took Ms. Hamma back in 2010. I had to give her a great review because she is truly an amazing professor. I don't know if she still does this or not but back in the day she gave us her direct cell phone number to text her whenever we had questions. I love that she was so accessible to her students. My improvement in essay writing has noticeably improved and it is all thanks to Professor Kraemer. The debates help, no matter how much you say you hate public speaking. She loves what she does and it reflects in the energy she puts into teaching.

All tests (3 w/ final) are short in-class essays, and all are open book/note/internet. 4 out of class essays, the last is a research paper combining the previous 2. Hw usually is annotating is for the tests. Def take her!

Kraemer is great, and truly tries her best to make the class straightforward, engaging, and fun. You can tell from her enthusiasm and high spirits that she is an amazing person. She does assign several papers but they're really not bad, and she allows you to rewrite them if you're not happy with the grade you received. Highly recommended.

Amazing professor!! Grades specifically on rubric so as long as you do everything mentioned you'll get an A on papers. Easy grader. Homework is mainly annotations. Group work gets you interested in class. A few in class debates. 3 in class essays, the last in class essay is the final. Provides all the readings for the class online so no book needed

She is probably one of the kindest professors at pierce. She gets so excited about the subject. She tells you exactly what she grades you one. There is a novel that needs to be read but it is pretty interesting. I had absolutely no stress for this class.

Professor Kraemer is caring, intelligent, and simply adorable. Everyday in class this semester she would talk about the news and relevant things going on around the world and she got so excited it was so cute! Although she gives a lot of papers, the criteria is clear and as long as you pay attention you will do great. Cant wait to take her for 102!

She's very passionate about bringing in real-life world topics/problems to talk about in class. She's very sweet and helpful, albeit disorganized, which I found frustrating. I took her class in Fall 2016, so debates got a bit political, but overall, stayed respectful and constructive. I wish she'd taught text analysis a little more thoroughly.

She is so kind and tries so hard to make her class stress-free. There is a mandatory book reading and a few essays but she made it as easy as it can be. Took her for both 101 and 102 and got As both times. You can turn in assignments a week late, no penalty. Also you can rewrite all essays except the last one. The final is an in-class essay.

Couldn't recommend another professor at Pierce more highly than I recommend Professor Kraemer!!! The sweetest woman and a fairly easy class to pass. She also lets you turn in your papers up to a week after the due date, and re-write them! Just work hard on the assignments and go to her office hours.

Kraemer had to be the easiest English 101 teacher at Pierce. There were a few essays (as projected) that were very easy and took little effort for A or B grade so long as your grammar and spelling was correct. She didn't exactly "knit-pick" at things in your essay and was always there if help was needed. Take her!

Kraemer really cares about her students. I had her fall 2017 during the fires, and she postponed assignments, made classes optional, and said you could bring your kids if need be! You definitely have to keep up on the reading, but the in class discussions make it easy and gave the class a great vibe. i made a ton of friends. never once felt lost.

She is really nice and clear with what she expects from the essays. There are 4 (short!) essays throughout the semester and she gives so much time to do them. She also accepts them up to one week late. Attendance is not mandatory, just make sure to turn in all the assignments online. There is also a lot of extra credit if you want over 100%.

Professor Marra is so energetic. She knows what to expect from each student because she has a clear grading criteria,, if you won't do good on the essay she will give extra credit assignments

Literally the easiest teacher I have ever taken. I basically BSed my way through this class and still can an A. If you want someone that is organised and focused, then this isn't the teacher for you. She is always unprepared but is VERY lenient and compassionate

Professor Kraemer is a gem. She is very easy and lenient. I highly recommend taking her if your schedule that semester has hard classes because she gives you 1 week to turn in things late and that seriously helped a lot.

Regardless of the comments below, Professor Kraemer is great. Each assignment has a seven day grace period, which means you can turn in something late if you have a busy schedule. Along with that, the essays follow the same criteria so you can do a re-write. She's enthusiastic and truly wants everyone to pass. The positives outweigh any negatives.

She is a very good professor. Her course is very easy unless you follow, she will also help you with all your issues in writing an essay or just basic questions.

Overall, I had a very great experience in Professor Kraemers English 101 class. total 4 essays and 2 essay exams. She provides an outline so writing essays cant get any easier. Also, she has office hours and you can always swing by a day before the essay is due and get some feedback. Definitely recommend this class.

This is a super easy class, and prof. Kraemer is a sweetheart. You really only need to show up for the in-class essays, everything else can be done online. Essays are based off structure, so if you follow her guidelines, you get a 100%. Overall, stress-free class.

Professor Kraemer is the best professor I've taken so far! I highly recommend her. Her assignments are tough if you don't read them or/and do them. She goes easy one you if she sees you actually trying. I've learned so much from her and if I could I would definitely take her again.

Easy A, if you follow directions and do the work. The online class was annoying, but the learning handouts and documents were easy to understand and were helpful. Honestly, you could skip through half the lectures in the modules and still pass if you do every assignment and read the directions carefully. Pretty easy and fair grading.

She's very energetic, I loved that her grading criteria was very clear. The whole semester you write one big paper, but she divides it into parts so that it isn't so stressful. I recommend an easy topic to make your life easier while looking for research. You can also do re-writes on essays if you weren't happy about original score.

It is a good class to learn how to write a research paper, and she takes us through the steps to do it. Attendance is not mandatory and everything you can find on her canvas. She does short weekly readings and easy quizzes.

Very easy class to pass as long as you do the work. When you reach out for help her advice is pretty sugar coated or she'll just tell you to refer to the instructions. You do get multiple chances to do assignments to receive a higher grade. The class is one big research paper split into multiple parts. Pretty easy.

When points are taken off an assignment she doesn't really explain why, but you are able to redo the assignment to receive full credit. Attendance is not mandatory. Overall I would recommend.

Im not sure why some people hate that shes nice, but they're the same people that will complain when they have a strict and unfriendly teacher.

Feels like you're back in high school with the lectures but honestly it ain't bad. She does give you multiple times to remake assignments in the time zone that is there, if not ask her and she'll let you. Choose a topic that you are interested in for the essays as it's easier to write. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT!! That helps out for midterm!!!

Prof Kraemer was the English teacher I needed. She has clear, concise rubrics, with a very generous late policy. She gives constant, good feedback on your papers. The difficulty ramps up slowly, but enough where you honestly don't notice. You slowly build a massive research paper, but you're never left in the dust. She definitely taught me a lot.

I took Professor Kraemer during the Fall semester of last year and she was great. The layout of her class for the semester was easy to follow. I followed a schedule that would end up making me write an amazing academic paper. Short quizzes based off modules which were really easy, and two timed essays for the midterm and final. Amazing feedback!
