she is nice. grades on curve. about 3 hw assingments the whole semester.
I have really enjoyed this class, she gives real workd examples that help you on the tests. I actually look forward to going to her class. Her friday classes arn't bad either.
probably the best professor i've had at long beach... teaching skills are really tuned up and uses real world examples... her exams are straight forward so if u attend class the lowest grade u'd possibly get is a C!
By fare the best professor I have taken at long beach. It’s nice when a law professor is also a practicing attorney. Very straight forward on test. Her free legal advice is also nice! Would take any other class she teaches in a heartbeat.
The greatest professor ever! I have a lot of great things to tell about her but this space will not be enough. You can see/know that not only she's a great mega-lecturer but she's one of the few attys you can trust and does good to human kinds. I wish she becomes the US Supreme Court Chief Justice.
Great professor, I still remember a lot of what I learned. She gives great examples & tells you exactly what to study.
Great professor, well organized, straight-forward, information clearly explained & test objectives covered & highlighted - highly recommend this instructor
By far one of my fav professors at csulb. Gives great personal real life examples, lectures clear and straight forward and great personable skills! AWESOME PROFESSOR!
she is very professional and knowledgable. i thought this class was going to be so boring but she keeps it interesting with personal experiences and class involvement. she tells you exactly what's going to be on the exam and seems pretty willing to help during office hours. overall, good professor. if you have to take this course i recommend cooper.
i highly recomend that everyone take a class with her...she is so nice and extremely helpful...she is a practicing lawyer so she's always using real-life examples so that you can actually relate the book material to the real world...she is more than willing to answer questions and she give free legal advice...overall, she's awesome!
real staright foward tests assigments are easy Highly Recommended
one of the best professors I have ever had. she explains everything very clearly and lets you know exactly what is on her tests. I would do what you can to fit this professor into your schedule.
I think she is the easiest teacher for FIN320. She tells u everything that will be on exam. go to class for sure(she takes attendance)There is no such project or anything in this class. Do the HWK and study for the exam, you will be fine! definitely easy A. take her for FIN320
She is very down to earth. Tests are decent, but her partner Ms. Engstrom makes the class really easy. I would definitely take this class and I would highly recommend it to my friends.
Great professor! She gives great examples to make students understand the concepts and she truly helps students when it comes to reviewing for the test. Not hard to get a B or an A since her scale was 85% for an A. She's also very nice and willing to help student out.
GREAT teacher, absolutely loved her. Interesting class, uses many examples, very clear and very helpful. Take her class if possible!
not the most interesting class ever. she tries to make it exciting but i could never get into it. as long as u study 4 the tests u will do fine. hw is easy. only 3 assignments. if someone walks out during movies she will give extra credit ti those who stayed..
She's a good professor. Although the lectures can be a bit boring, she frequently gives interesting cases which are relevant to the ideas being taught, making the entire course somewhat engaging. Her assignments and tests are moderately easy. Just go to class and you'll do well.
If you attend the lectures, this class is a breeze. Prof. Cooper also uses interesting court cases to help reinforce ideas. Homework involves short answer, but since you have to interpret laws and scenarios, there is no right or wrong answer as long as you back it up. The 3 tests are purely multiple choice; you could not ask for an easier class.
take cooper, no excuses. 3 scantron tests, 3 easy hw assignments. thats it. if you cant get an A in this class maybe you should consider quiting college.
very knowledgeable professor, but the class is boring! the student who scores the highest sets the 100% mark, so just do better than everyone else =). Tests can be very difficult. Just hope that everyone does worse!
Good teacher, gives a lot of examples on the topics she teaches. 3 tests and 3 homework assignments not to difficult. When she talks politics though sometimes she can be a little bias but a good teacher overall.
This class was great. Really easy but interesting too, if you like the subject at all. Just attend class and she gives you enough examples to remember what you need to to ace the tests.
Great professor; very intelligent. Class is really interesting and you'll learn a lot. She gives extra credit; so even though the tests are kind of hard, you can earn points other ways. She also assigns homework, but it is really easy.
Shes really calm and nice. 3 Hw. 3 Test. She gives extra credit and freebies on the tests and curves them. Easy B with minimal effort, but if you really want to TRY you could get an A.
Cooper was an easy teacher who gives lots of examples. although her lectures are boring, it won't be hard to get good grades on the tests. 3 tests and 3 hw. you will get all points on hw if you do them.
easy class. read the book ahead of class, do the 3 homework assignments (not difficult), and study the study guide she gives. shes very clear on the subject.
nice and easy teacher, give extra credit for coming to class and participate, easy B, some effort and you will get A, overall not really hard class, she sometimes make us confused about the assignments, but she is easy to talk to, review before every test, tell what need to study for the test, give out study guide, highly recommend
super super easy. 2 MT's, a final, and 3 hw's. the final is weighted the same as a MT. hands out very helpful study guides and tells u exactly what to expect on each test. she's really nice and very helpful. highly suggest her for blaw 320.
She is very nice and articulate. She tries to keep the class interesting by using real life examples and hypotheticals. Filling out her study guides are very helpful and the homework is easy. She takes role on random days and will give you answers to test questions randomly so I suggest going to class. Overall, pretty easy and interesting class.
GREAT teacher! I took her for 220(got an A) and currently have her for 320(getting an A). I go to class and pay attention (it's not hard, she makes class interesting) and do well on the tests, homeworks are easy and there are only 2 midterms and a final. I HIGHLY reccomend her, very helpful & understanding!
I did not like this class. I took it Monday nights and Cooper is monotone and unenthusiastic. I doodled through most of her lectures and taught myself using the book. Her test questions don't make sense half of the time. Do the homework assignments, it will help your grade a little bit. I would not take this professor again.
this woman is SO BORING. she mumbles sometimes and her tests are ridiculous. you need to read and take notes, come to class, and pay really good attention. I DO NOT recommend her. Horrible professor. Makes me never want to take BLAW again. UGHHHHH
Class is boring at times. She spoon feeds the answers and what you need to know for the tests. Although, tests are tricky at times but doing the study guide and the easy homework will guarantee an A or B. 3 Tests 3 H/W's
Blaw 220 is an easy B. Just show up to class, especially the class before each exam where she'll give ANSWERS to the exams. You'd have to be an idiot to not pass this class.
She is really clear on what she wants you to know. The only time i opened the book is when i did the homework which was a breeze. You don't have to attend class but make sure you go on the day of the review b/c she gives you several answers.
Had this as a night class, and hardly ever went. She made us watch way too many movies and I thought her lectures were boring and skipped around a lot. Attendance wasnt mecessary. For the midterms and final she gave out study guides. These are super helpful and cover EVERYTHING on the tests. If you do them you should be fine. Pretty easy A.
This teacher is pretty easy. She helps you to learn a lot. 3 homework assignments and 3 tests make up the grade. Study hard for an A, but you can get a B no problem. Uses powerpoints but has great stories
I liked her. interesting lectures. easy to understand. tests can be difficult but not too bad if you study. put in the effort and you should get a B no problem.
Best thing about her is her real-world examples that tie everything together. Makes it so much easier to understand and apply. Don't need to read book if you attend class and participate. Provides study guide for tests and goes over it to ensure understanding. Wish all teachers were like her!
Professor Cooper is a great professor. There are three hw assignments that are easy and three M/C tests that make up your grade. She also gives out study guides for the tests. Her lectures are interesting and she is really helpful. I agree with the comment below, more professors should be like her!
Simply the BEST. Not easy for those not good at taking notes and focusing on lecture. For international students, you must be good at listening in order to get an A in this class. Book is totally useless since all test questions come from lecture.
Alright teacher, I found the class to be pretty much common sense. Others thought it was extremely hard. Pretty unclear about what she wants at first. She wants students to figure stuff out on their own and it just ended up confusing a lot of people. Barely studied for midterm of final and got a B
5 papers, 1 group presentation, written essay midterm and final. Attendance required for discussion groups (and participation points). Sometimes unclear at the beginning of class as to paper reqs, but it ends up being common sense. Have to hit all key elements to gain points. Easy grader though; understands we aren't geniuses right away.
She is by far one of my most favorite professors I've taken at Long Beach. Very laidback and helpful lady. She provides real life scenarios, which makes the lecture more understanding. This class is fairly easy IF you attend class and take GOOD notes. 3 easy hw assignments,2 midterms, and a final.
My favorite professor of the semester! She explained every term with a real life case. VERY interesting, VERY knowledgeable. She has an answer to every question and even lets you argue test ?s. Made me love law, which I never thought was possible. Her tests are fair, if you pay attention in class and fill out her study guide you will get an A easy.
She is a good professor and explains the laws and cases well, however her exams are very difficult and it is difficult to get an A in the class. The HW are easy points.
I LOVE this teacher!! I never thought that Business Law was a subject that would hold any interest for me at ALL, but she relates every topic we learn in class to a real-life case, so it makes understanding law soooo much easier!! :) I would highly recommend this teacher; show up, take good notes, and this class is an easy A!! :)
The best professor ever
Love this prof, Very nice & helpful!! Highly recommended!!
Wonderful professor! She knows her stuff (she's an attorney) & basically class was sitting, listening to her interesting stories/examples & take notes. A few easy hw assignments, few tests. I dIdn't buy the book, just came to class, took notes, & got an A. She loves what she does & it shows!
Best BLaw professor at CSULB. Her class was awesome. I loved how she made a dull subject like law into something fun. Must take really good notes in order to get an A.
super fun and chill class. Discuss today's issues, ethics, and some laws. 3 easy homework and 1 group presentation. don't need book if you're willing to check it out at library. 1 midterm & 1 final. follow her instructions and if you have questions/concerns ... she's super easy to talk to.
Tests are tricky, hw is easy & she's very helpful. No extra credit, must know the material & terms. Attend class, she gives a lot of examples that help w/the exam. Textbook is helpful when reviewing & following along w/lecture (on powerpoint). Don't need to bring text to class. She has a study guide & practice questions. Final not cummulative
She is okay. She grades hard on midterm and finals and will pick on you during class lecture. Other then that I thought it was an ok class. Pretty boring thou.
I took this class last Fall as my final capstone and it was great. Be prepared to participate in group discussions and remember to use key words/phrases on the midterms/final.
Marsha is not only a great person but she is an amazing professor! She is passionate about what she teaches and makes it very easy to learn. Just attend class, pay attentiontake notes, do the study guides and you will get an A. Two tests, a final, and 3 simple homework assignments. She fully preps you for the tests. Best CBA teacher - MUST TAKE!
GREAT teacher. Simple setup of the class. 3 tests and 3 homework assignments. Study and you will enjoy the class and learn alot
Really enjoyed this class! She is a great professor, gives you real life examples to help you understand the material. Attend class, take notes and you'll do fine. Must take!
3 homeworks & 3 exams. Homeworks are very easy. Exams are based on class lectures. You'll be fine without a book for the exams, if you take good notes. AND DO TAKE NOTE OF EVERYTHING SHE SAYS. Although, there were 2 or 3 questions from the homework that came from the book so I recommend to just share a book with someone to split the cost.
She is the best business law professor. Her lectures are very enjoyable and relatable. Marsha really ties in real life experiences to the lectures. Whatever she says is on the test, WILL BE on the test. Her tests are multiple choice but can be tricky sometimes. Best of all, some of my classmates want to go to Law School because of her now.
She's a fairly decent professor. Lectures aren't extremely difficult, but she expects you to do a lot of research outside of class. Assigned 5 papers (1 group, 2 inclass, 2 take home), group presentation, and inclass essays for midterm and final. Instructions could be a bit more clear and grading rubrics aren't shown until after you turn in papers.
She is like the best law professor I have ever taken before in my life, I basically checked out the last month of class and she basically went over the materiel that was on the exam. to be totally honest I did not really study for the exams. Take her!
She's great definitely would recommend anyone that needs the class to take her. Just make sure to go to class and study and do the homework and you will do great.
Professor Cooper's class was very interesting. You learn many ethical models and some business law and need to apply them to discussions and essays. There are many essays but all she wants to see is that you took the class and can apply the models. There are many discussions so participation is IMPORTANT! Overall, really fun and interesting class!
She's a nice teacher, but she doesn't provide enough guidance on what she expects for her hard essays. An example of what she would expect would be explaining how an environmental law fits into a social problem. If you do have her, make sure you ask her to proofread your paper before you turn it in.
Grade is based on 2 in class written exams, few other writing assignments, and a group project. There is no textbook and she is not clear on what she wants so make sure to ask a lots of questions. Also make note of her opinions bc if you disagree with her she will give you a poor grade. Sometimes disrespectful towards students/has low expectations
Her lectures are really great. Her real-life examples make it really interesting and help you understand. Everything she says is on the exam (literally), so take really really good notes. You will need them. Her tests aren't too bad but several questions are tricky. 3 exams and 3 not hard hw assignments.
She is literally all over the place and everything is backed up. Not really being clear on what she wants from a paper, even though she thinks that you make a decent paper, she could fail your papers.
Professor Cooper is an excellent professor for BLAW. She explains the different laws through her own personal experiences, which were very interesting. Tests can be tricky, but aren't too bad if you take good notes. Class consists of 3 easy homework assignments, 2 midterms, and 1 non-cumulative final.
Professor makes class interesting as she always gives us real life examples of the material. Has many stories that she as a lawyer has been through and talks about many cases that make law enjoyable. I missed class quite a few times, but still managed to pass with a B. Could have easily gotten an A if I had put in more effort. Great class!
Prof Cooper is a very solid choice for BLAW 320. 3 MC exams, 4 super easy homework assignments. Read the book which is interesting. Listen to the lectures and take notes for tips on what is on the test. One of the easiest classes I've taken, very low workload. Extra credit if you attend the class following an exam for the review.
One of the best professors I've taken at CSULB. Entertaining lectures and exam questions are pretty straight forward. As long as you go to lectures and take good notes, you should do fine. 3 exams and a couple of homework assignments which isn't much work. He study guides are really actually helpful and would definitely take her again!
She means well, doesn't really teach though, she goes on about random things rather than getting to the point. You will need to read the book to understand. She will help if you reach out to her, at least she doesn't ghost us like other professors.
Highly recommend this professor sometimes she can get off topic, but lectures are pretty interesting she is very nice and caring for her students if you need help on anything just email her.
Cooper is a great professor. She really cares about her students and wishes for their best. Her lectures and schedule can be messy; however, everything she gives you is sufficient for exams, so you don't need to worry about reading the textbook. Homework is also easy. Do homework. Review the study guide. Listen to her. You will pass if you try.
Her exams are so difficult! All her exams are fact patterns and it is hard to follow what she says in class because she goes on so many tangents. I would not take this professor again because the homework seems easy but the exams are worth the most and they are so hard.
Professor Cooper only has three hw assignments that total 50 points. The rest of the points are based on the tests. Her lecture was just based on PowerPoint and examples. Her tests were difficult, our class average on the test was a C. I didn't learn much, barely passed. Discord helped a lot, make sure to create one and share it with classmates.
Awful. She just talked alone. The lecture is boring
Very disorganized. This class is not for you if youre a visual learner since she doesnt use the slides. She goes on tangents that are barely related to what were learning. She always has an attitude. One student attended office hours about a test and she basically clowned them and said they didnt study enough. Worst prof Ive ever had.
worst prof Ive ever taken. rude and not understanding at all. sets you up to fail and doesnt care about her students. avoid her
condescending, rude, and spiteful. do not take.
Terrible teacher. Super condescending and sets her students up to fail. Changed our exam grades like 5 times which set people back from an A to an F and doesn't explain why she did so. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Not so great. Wants students to ask questions during class then has an attitude if you start asking. Asked her for clarification on an assignment and was given a rude response. Class consists of 3 hws and 3 multiple choice tests. Given a study guide before exam. Professor goes on tangents during lectures; need to read/study the book to pass.
This professor was extremely kind and understanding and gave me an extension when I really needed it. Her class was also interesting and entertaining, I highly recommend taking it in-person! A lot of what she says in class will be on the test. Her exams are tough, but she explains things well. Get as much extra credit as you can it helps a lot
Our class has 3 homework assignments and 3 exams. The homework is so easy and then the exams are impossible. She words them to such complicated extents that you have to know every single term in depth to understand and no one does. I like her as a person but her tests are just unreasonable. Maybe check out a dif prof to take
She knows what she is taking about however, all of her tests are not based on study guides. The tests are example based and when reading them can have multiple answers. There is 3 homework assignments and 3 tests including the final. She was a good teacher just needs to change how she makes her tests.
Prof Cooper is a really good teacher and always tells us stories so that we understand the concepts. But the study guide is absolutely USELESS. Your grade is mostly based on three exams and the class average is usually a low C/high D. You honestly just need to know how to apply the concepts to different situations.
boring class, professor is not a big fan of powerpoints, lecture likes to trail off topics, self study, curves all exams and finals, sometimes takes attendance sometime doesn't,
By far the best professor I have taken at CSULB. She was very caring about her students and did tell many stories and real life examples that pertained to the material, making it easy for students to understand while making it entertaining. Exams are not hard at all if you study and paid attention to the class. Great professor!
