WONDERFUL WONDERFUL WONDEFUL, She does work you, but you do ACTUALLY learn something....i know i know it's hard to believe. The classes are fun and interesting. She is willing to work with you and help you succeed!
Gives rigorous assignments that are expected to be completed in earnest. While learning her style took me a while, I realized once we were on the same wavelength she taught me quite a bit. Scored a low grade in the class, but remember plenty of lessons that carry on beyond the letter
A great class and a great teacher. I only wish we'd have spent more class time to talk about practical methods of conflict management. Class was based on case studies and mock conflicts where we interacted as negotiators. I learned a lot, but it could have been more I think with more discussion of the books.
Kind of scary at first, but she's actually pretty cool. Gave us a overload of assignments for a freshman seminar class. But I thought I learned a lot of useful things, mainly about the school/campus.
I did not like her at all. She is extremely full of herself, a little crazy, and a complete control freak. she hardly ever lectures or teaches. just assigns chapters and huge projects. If you do not like working outside of class with group projects and like being treated like an adult and not a child do not take her for anything!
Don't waste your time and tuition fee with this lady, you will learn nothing from her.
Maybe in upper division courses with actual subject matter she will be better. But for freshman seminar she treated us like useless children. It was to MOST POINTLESS class ever, as are all freshman seminar classes apparently. Just awful.
I would definitely not recommend taking this professor for this class. If you read the comments from other MGMT 102 students, they are right on. If possible take another professor who is more qualified for this class. You won't regret it.
Freshman seminar class. She treats you like children, "GOOD MORNING! EVERYONE"... but if you give her a chance you will learn of the resources on campus but still Kind of pointless class. take a different seminar if possible.
Prof. Jeppeson is extremily likeable and entertaining. She knows her stuff and makes class interesting, but the amount of money required for this class shows she's a little out of touch with students. There were FOUR books, plus a $50 "lab fee." Reading is confusing because of the number of books, but overall good class.
She treats the class like they're all still in kindergarden.
AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS. I learned a lot, but it probably took 10 years off my life. This class alone could be a full semester's worth of work. MULTIPLE projects all over-lapping. All group work. Complete nightmare of a class.
I would not take her. She treats you like your twelve and she is not helpful. She demands a lot but I nor did my classmates feel that she made it clear to what she wanted from you. I do not recommend.
I didn't learn a thing. Pointless class, 3 group projects, 1 or 2 tests and small amount of attendance pts. She definitely is a little overly excited, it gets old. Its an ok class, but you need to get a GOOD GROUP. Most of your work and grade come from group work.
She was my favorite professor . She isn't an easy A but she is the only professor who has an amazing attitude everyday.It requires group work, so if you pick the right group you are good. SHe is amazing and I loved her , and her class was fun.
She was overly excited, all the time. She is able to help if you ask, group work is key, be sure to pick a goo solid group or else you will fall behind, 3 presentations, hard tests... Her favorite answer is E. Took a 25 question test... 14 of the correct answers were E.
Terrible professor, avoid at all costs. She was not prepared for any of the lectures, tried to fill up the time with pointless discussions.Class had no structure and no formal grading system. Extremely harsh grader, full of herself, impossible to please.
Terrible class. As far as my grades I had all A's and one C+ from her. I actually worked harder in her class than any other class. One group, 4 assignments, and no test. I can't stand group work in general because of the lack of accountability for one's work. Good group or not it's a horrible experience to ever endure. AVOID.
Most of the other comments are spot on. She's much too energetic and definitely treats her students as if they're middle schoolers. For a freshman seminar, it does little to make you feel like you're a college student, aside from all the work she assigns you. Lots of group projects. Wouldn't recommend her or this seminar.
She's a good professor, definately interested in seeing students succeed. As previously stated, be sure to choose a good group at beginning of year! Most assignments are group based! And yes, when in doubt on tests choose 'E'!
Avoid this class. Would not recommend to take. Overall, pointless class that is not worth the grade you receive. Busy work and/or projects and presentations that are completely irrelevant to business.
Grade is highly based on 2 group projects and 3 take home exams but the exams are on materials that you supposedly read during the time you had the 2 big major projects. Prof expects high from students but hardly lectures. Take the class with at least 6 of your friends so you won't get screwed over by your groupmates.
Really enjoyed it.she was overexcited but loves to talk and class interaction.hated the book reading and collabrative essays, but she was enthusiastic so she made class interesting. also group presentations. No Final only 2 exams, final was write paper to future self. she follows everythinh on the syllabus:( but still i enjoyed it.
I really did not care for this professor. She is really nice but she acts like we don't have any other classes. She gives a lot of work and it is all group work. I am not sure how she got any good ratings. There is a lot of group writing in this class which makes it extremely difficult. Don't take her she shouldn't be working here.
Not helpful at all. Condescending. She expects a lot but doesnt teach us, her discussions are pointless. huge overwhelming group projects with tons of reading. TERRIBLE class and terrible professor, how did she get this job??
Mixed feelings. Everything is group work so make sure you're in love w your group! Luckily, she liked one of our group members so we got a decent grade. She asks for way too much. I would take someone else if I were you.
She is an okay professor. She likes to talk a lot and she do give a lot of work, but those works are worth it. One of the great projects we did in this class was "Stories without Words", it was a fun experience. Easy A if do all the work. Group projects + Homework + Exams
Likes to talk a LOT. Always has something to blurt out in the middle of a guest speaker lecture. Dumps loads of pointless homework on a class that isn't interesting or helpful. She turns an easygoing class into a class with lots of work.
This professor. Every other review on her is mostly correct. She is full of herself, condescending (in a very underhanded way)and fills the class time with guest speakers and pointless discussions. I did not learn much from her, but read the book. Extremely rude to students, likes to pretend shes nice. Avoid if possible. class is only group work.
3 Group Presentations + some groupwork in class. 3 difficult take home tests (scantron 50 questions) mainly based on reading from 3 different books. Not too much lecture about the reading material. I don't feel the team projects were useful for learning the topic - Management of Contemporary Organizations. She has a LOT of energy.
Don't expect her to do any lecturing or actual teaching in the class. Classes are mostly pointless guest speakers, who she interrupts constantly, or repetitive library tutorials. All assignments are group projects and the workload is heavy. She's very full of herself and expects students to teach themselves the material without going over it.
Avoid, avoid, avoid. This class was extremely stressful with regards to the misunderstanding in coursework expectations, despite the long-spent hours struggling to finish busy work (some of which was not even collected, as to be for "our own benefit"). Class is mostly held watching guest speakers of whom the teacher enjoys interrupting constantly.
I absolutely HATED this class! It made my first semester feel like hell. She assigned a whole bunch of unnecessary assignments. The entire class was group work and you had the same group the entire semester. She was very condescending and would talk down to us. She accused everyone of plagiarizing and gave 0's on the papers. DO NOT take this class!
*Not recommended for slackers* Books free online; 1 semester group project; 2 group presentations; 0 tests. Time and effort made this the MOST educationalapplicable class I have EVER taken. Marsha is so well connected in the Sacramento business community and so helpful in office hours, that I now have a working business plan ready for startup!
Condescending and rude! Goes off topic and then cuts you off when you try to speak in class. The most difficult thing about this class was lack of clarity for projects and/or other assignments! Thankful I had a supportive group or else I would of dropped. This class was unnecesarily stressful.
MOST STRESSFUL class my first year but the most eye opening as well. Definitely have to work HARD for your grade. Take advantage of the resources given. Class is meant to show first years the resources on campus and learn personal development. Very helpful if your thinking about majoring in business. DOES talk a lot/interrupt but she DOES care.
I loved her, others in my class disagreed but I think she is a great teacher and actually interested in knowing her students. She is very knowledgeable and I learned a lot from her. She can be intense at times but she truly wants her students to succeed but doesn't just hand it to you. You have to put work into the class. Tests are take home.
She is a tough grader and really drills in APA style. Lectures were more based on helpful things to know about Sac State (i.e. Career center and AIRC). She is tough and comes across as rude, but is doing it to better you. She pushes everyone to do their best. She is an extreme editor, so take advantage.

Fall 2016--Please don't make this mistake along with the other 24 students in my class. We all felt the same way. She's full of her self, likes to talk a lot, interrupts, and rude overall. They said it was gonna be easy. They lied. If you wanna have a smooth sailing your first semester. don't take this,even if they say it's a "cluster." Save urself
Professor Jeppeson gives out a lot of busy work but if you do it you'll most likely end up with an A. Cite everywhere because that's where she will kill your grade. The two exams are take home and easy.
Jeppeson is a tough professor but she genuinely cares about the well-being of her students. This class was a TON of work but if you go to office hours and show her that you are willing to work hard, she will give you everything that you need to get an A. Lectures consist of her ranting and engaging the class in random discussions. Awesome prof.

By far the worst professor I have ever taken at CSUS. She is rude, disrespectful, and not caring. She goes on about how much she "cares" about her students, but will publicly humiliate you if she gets the chance. Her deadlines are ridiculous and she gives no letter grading.
One of my favorite professors. Everyone is different and looks for different qualities in their professors. I found her to be caring and passionate about her job. Professor Jeppeson is hard but does so because she wants you to be prepared for your future careers. It's true she has no letter grading but she explains why. I would def take her again.

She is very specific on what she expects from students and can come off as rude but deep down she's just trying to prepare you. Take home tests easy and lots of assignments but its possible to get done. Really strict on attendance and no phones during class.
3 take home exams. Final is a group analysis paper. HIGH EXPECTATIONS for students. Weekly homework online (multiple tries, 100% every time). Exams were hard, but take home. Mostly discussion based (which was hard). MUST read assigned books. Kind of a rude person, hates late students. Lots of work. Rough class, but it's do-able.

Probably one of the worst out there
Says weird offensive terms, then jokes them off. Talks off topic any chance she gets. No set lesson or anything you'll have to take notes on. A lot of just talking aimlessly to a point where it gets annoying.
This class is challenging but in that it requires a lot of self-reflection. Many assign. were given but gives them ahead of time. You're in charge. If you turn in a couple assign. at a time this class is a breeze. However, procrastinate & you will be stressed out. There is no exams or tests and no lectures in class just in class activities.
Come to class this class. It is the best way to not fall behind. She makes important announcements every class. Seems like she is mean but she really just wants you to be responsible and independent. She is actually very caring and will understand if you don't make it to class, just let her know. If you have a great group and try you will get an A!
This class if only hard if you procrastinate. There is a lot of time spent doing the assignments in this class but it's more tedious than anything if you do the work ahead of time. If you're stuck with her but are a decent writer you'll get an A.
Shes always rambling off topic about unimportant things that have nothing to do with the class and shes super condescending . Her assignments were difficult and worth a lot of points. I would stay far, far away from taking her class!!
By far the worst teacher I have ever taken and I graduate next semester... do you know how many teachers I've taken? She is by far the worst. Don't ever take her class. She shouldn't be a teacher, she does not care about her students at all. Stay away. She will fail you if she doesn't like you. Content means nothing to her.
If you are not willing to actually work for your grade then don't take this class. Honestly the work is not that hard it's just a lot at times. I think that it is a good class to test and improve your time management skills. If I had to pick one downside to the class is would be the group projects but that's just a personal preference.
She is by far the hardest ,complicated , and unorganized professor. The only graded thing in this class is the group project. Not a lot of companies are willing to Collab with us which is understandable because of covid but she insists on this project. Avoid her if you can my classmates at low C's and we are trying our best to please her.
An absolute joke of a teacher. You will never meet her expectations. Her grading is terrible. She failed an entire group because their project wasn't correctly placed on a hard drive. She will spend most of class yelling at us. I didn't learn a thing in her class. I would only take her class if you like being yelled at or enjoy torture.

Professor Jeppeson is an amazing person outside of class, but she does not know how to teach or manage a class at all. She will expect you to have assignments done when she never spoke about them or brought them up. This class is just tons of busy work and you work on something different every week. This class is a whole mess.
(Online COVID) This was the most stressful class by far, not b/c it was hard, but b/c Marsha was disorganized with the materials it left me unclear of what I should be doing. Pointless lectures, went off tangents, and not once regrouped with class. I had a sucky group and when I reached out on how to motivate my team, no reply. Better than attitude
One of the toughest classes and professors at Sac State, especially for first year students. However, you will not regret taking this class. It has added TREMENDOUS value to my higher education experience. Step outside your comfort zone and let Professor Jefferson push you to your limits. Put in the work, and it will pay off for you in the future.
Despite having classing like math and accounting, this class was the source of my headaches. Prof. Is extremely unorganized and worst of all she doesnt seem to care that you have no idea whats going on. She expects you to know and keep up to date with EVERYTHING by using canvas. Doesnt answer emails or questions in class. Just stay away.

Took this class Fall 2020. I hated it because we had a group project over Microsoft teams. Hated every minute of it. We had to work w an organization. Four papers altogether (3 were building up to the 4th one). Prof is really picky on formatting and how you write. Expects everyone to be the best writers. Mainly hated this class cause of my group
Professor Jeppeson was only my professor for a couple months because we had a new professor take over (due to complaints). She was repeatedly disrespectful to students and spent most of the class talking about herself. She canceled class for almost a month and went a wall on students all while we were working on a long and stressful final project
Professor means well. There are many assignments, however, they are meaningful if completed with effort. Assigned groups are random, so expect to work with slackers. Although, these assignments and projects will help you in the long run. Also, make sure to read the syllabus carefully and every week!
I think it's ironic that a person with zero organization is teaching "Strategic Human Resource Management". She does not tell you anything, and you have to figure everything out by yourself. She splits the class into teams; some teams have 8 members while others have 5. She is the embodiment of toxic positivity, forcing positivity down your throat.
Class is basically just small assignments leading up to a group paper/presentation. Prof is nice enough, but doesn't explain concepts/assignments well and grades pretty tough. Need to be a strong writer and lucky enough to get a good group. If you are/do, class is not that hard.
Pretty tough grader. Very nit-picky about the littlest things. You never want to retake a class, but this is one that you absolutely do not want to retake if you fail. The group project is a semester long assignment where you have to work with an HR from a company and it can be frustrating if you don't have a good group. Choose wisely.
Marsha is a good professor if you are a strong writer & participate in class. Be sure to choose your group wisely. There is 1 major project that you work on throughout the semester & a weak group will kill your grade. You will have to purchase readings through Harvard Business Review (cheap). No exams. Must be self disciplined.
Her canvas modules and assignments were very unorganized. It made it hard to complete assignments because she required you to use the resources she provided but could never find. She also gave unclear or no instructions on assignments and expected you to figure out what she wanted from you. Very passive aggressive and will grade you unfairly.
Professor started off the semester saying her class was more difficult than the usual mgmt 102 classes. Entire grade is pretty much dependent on group projects. Same group for the whole semester and it was selected at random. Projects and grading criteria are not defined very clearly. Textbook is a waste of time don't bother reading it.
Professor does not lecture in class. Most of the grade is determined by group projects. If you get a bad group you're stuck with them. professor told us there was easier professors.
Professor wasn't as bad as I thought, she does give a lot of work with a STRICT deadline but if you do them all you'll probably end up with an A at the end of the semester but also depending on your group projects. Groups were chosen for us, didn't really like my group but got things done.

I'm going to be real, I have a very unpopular opinion as I actually enjoyed my time in this class. Yes it is very heavy work and your performance is heavily influenced on your group but keep in mind you'll be in a group of 7 to 8 people so you'll probably be fine. Everyone in my group was very cool and did there part. Tons of presentations though.
I never had a problem with any professor in all my three years here. I just made an account simply to rate her. Do not take her. She degrades her students and almost gets a thrill from it. She drops people for being late on the first week. She raises her voice at students and makes fun of other students who have an accent (very unprofessional)
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! SHE DISCRIMINATES AGAINST SOME STUDENTS AND MAKES FUN OF A STUDENT WHO HAS AN ACCENT. TAKE ANOTHER PROFESSOR INSTEAD
This class genuinely helped me to grow as an individual in the professional and group setting. Professor Jeppeson is an amazing professor who gives clear guidance and has a great format that is neatly outlined in the syllabus.
Worst professor I've ever had! Will read your emails but never reply bc she's “too busy”. If you make a mistake she won't let you fix it. Claims to be committed to well-being and kindness but is the opposite. Says one thing all semester and then switches it up after the due date and penalizes you for it. Has been racist towards Asian students.
Group work heavy class.Teams are randomly selected so depending on the type of people u get, u might have to put a ton of work in and be a leader if u want a good grade. The professor is a bit odd, she's condescending a lot of the time and I've seen her be very difficult when speaking to other students. If u have other options try to avoid herclass
Didn't teach anything. Spent the class period asking us if we knew what needed to be submitted. No electronics allowed not even for notes but again she didn't teach so there was no point. Alot of group work so be prepared to be stuck with the same group even if you don't like them b/c it's randomize. Very strict late policy. Condescending.
if you like to suffer take her class. her lectures don't correlate to the textbook, project heavy and groupwork semester long. some days the classes felt useless and could've been used better. her personality is bipolar, can be condescending and talks about her personal life/goes on tangents. grade depends on your group and her grading
