The Man's a ****. He's F'in Hilarious.

More like a motivation speaker than a teacher. *Very entertaining* and makes the material really easy to understand.

SO funny and entertaining. Clear and concise assignments. Fair amount of homework and everything was well explained. I looked forward to class!

Very, VERY good teacher. Makes a potentially dull class interesting. Nice guy. Good humor. Intelligent. Never reveals his politics (even though the subject matter opens up plenty of opportunities). I've been very impressed with this teacher... And he looks just like Dennis Quaid! Haha!

teaches the material and gives great examples. funny. even in a large class, he stops to take questions and comments. he definitely has his politics and acts like it's THE truth. if you ? his politics, you debate. tests: you just regurgitate his words back to him and get an A. not much thinking is involved other than accepting.

Marty is the man. His class rocks. He gives a quiz (sometimes 2) every class. But they are easy and the quizes make it easy to Ace the class. His tests are easy. His class is interesting. This is the first class I've ever looked forward to attending. He's the best professor i've ever had. I'd recommend him to everyone.

Marty was a good teacher but the class can still get boring and at time he can be a little arrogant. Easy quiz's and tests. But in order to get an A you have to get a 94% and you fail if you get a 74%.

Great teacher, class was as interesting as possible for a communications class. Learned alot. As long as you take the daily quizes the tests are simple

he is an awesome teacher. If you like somebody who is sarcastic and is an entertainer then you should take this class, i learned a great of information and he is very reasonable and helpful, he goes out of his way to help students and makes sure that everybody gets the material.

Attendance is important, as reading quizzes are given frequently! Marty is a great teacher, very interesting and organized in lectures!

I love Marty! He is the best lecturer, ever. He's just the right mix of humor & seriousness. You take quizzes everyday, its a review of the last lecture/book reading. There are two tests, which are easy. So I'd recommend going to this class so you dont miss the quizzes. I didn't miss one class because I love it so much.

Marty is a great professor! He make the fundamentals of debating in conversation easy to absorb and learn to utilize to improve communication skills.

This is easily the most important class I have taken. Prof. Most teaches the key logic, philosophy, and communication skills that anyone needs to live an examined life, in such a way that you cannot fail to get it--as long as you show up to class. Should be an easy A, but you absolutely have to come to class; there are quizzes almost every day.

Funny.

Really funny teacher! He uses everyday examples to explain concepts. You can drop 5 quiz scores! Beware if you're a Yankees fan though (he'll poke fun at you).

Awesome class... one of the best choices i made. he is very entertaining in his lectures. lots of good info taught. approachable guy and very helpful when u need it. attendence isnt required but quizes given everyday(not hard at all). other than that tests were easy as well, as long as u do the quizes

This is a awesome class, I would recommend any one to take this class, especially between this and COMM101. Teaches you to use logic and you take a look at many philosophies. Extremely funny, takes to time for questions quiz everyday, easy and you learn a lot!

He looks like Dennis Quaid! Hilarious man and so well organized! If you work hard and show up to class you'll get an A. The information was relatively simple but he explained it in a way that I will always remember it. TAKE HIM! :)

I took COMM 112 in Spring 2009. Attendance was not mandatory, but he had quizzes almost every class period... so it is in your interest to show up. He is a very entertaining speaker. Listening to his lectures was actually quite enjoyable.

Marty is one of the best professors in the Comm department. Funny and engaging- you have to take him if you get the chance. DO THE READING AND COME TO CLASS! If you don't, you will not do well. If you do, you will most likely get a good grade. Take him:)

One of the best profs I have had the pleasure of taking. Very well spoken, clear, funny, and engaging. He gives quiz's often but they were never hard if you pay attention and do readings.

Very interesting, witty, funny, teacher. Great lectures. Gives quizzes EVERY SINGLE DAY! If you don't show up, you miss that quiz you lose the grade! No make up quiz. That is basically your grade - a few tests, but quizzes are the biggest factor. Questions come from reading and previous days lecture. Grades on his own scale an A is a B for him.

Marty kicks ass! The American Historical Film class wasn't easy, but it was a lot of fun and interesting. He lays out exactly what you need to do to achieve an A, B, C, or above. That kind of flexibility is nice when it gets down to the end of the semester and decide you need to devote your attention to other projects, as I did. One of the best!

marty is the best prof i've had at bsu. lectures are great, and you can learn a lot. tough on grading but makes it clear the first day... "you get what you expect going in. if you're ok with a C, youre going to get one." i barely used the text, attended 85-90% of the time and just really focused on lectures and got a C. a class everyone should take

Very interesting class, will hold your attention. Gives quizzes every class making attendance mandatory, but quizzes are simple if you take good notes. Does have a messed up grading scale and with 5 questions quizzes it can be difficult to get an A but if you want it you'll get it.

Marty is a good professor. He cares about the students and takes time to help them. Quizes are given out at any time and multiple quizes can be given out in a day so do not miss a class. His tests are extremely easy just follow the study guide he gives out. He gives out a lot of information in class so take good notes.

Marty Most is an amazing prof. Incredibly funny. He gives quizzes daily (so attendence is a must) but they're only five questions and he drops 5-8 of them. The subject matter is really interesting too. Great comm class if you're not into giving speeches. I recommend this class to anyone.

Marty taught me more than any of my history classes combined...I learned so much from this comm class, it was the most informational and interesting class for my first semester. I will most likely use the material he taught later on in life. Plus--he's good looking lol.

Marty is hilarious, the classes seem to fly by. There is quite a bit of note taking everyday but it is very useful! I love having the daily quizzes, really easy to boost your grade. Definitely would recommend taking this class to anyone.

Marty is a great prof. he makes the class fun and enjoyable. His word is law and all you have to do is as he asks when it comes to work. Pretty cut and dry show up and you will pass.

If you don't want to give speeches then this is the class for you! Just show up to class everyday, read weekly readings and take good notes and you should get a good grade. He is really informative, can be boring because of the subject matter but he is really funny(Like the funniest teacher I've had). You know exactly what you have to do in preparation for each class. Has quizzes over reading but I didn't read a page and i got an A in the course. Just listen and take notes and the class shouldt be a problem.

Awesome class! I liked going to class because it was fun and interesting. It was a large class (which I didn't like), but it was an awesome class. Super easy too if you attend class and do the readings. Lots of quizzes, but everything's multiple choice. Loved the class!

He was the best prof I have had at this school yet!! I enjoyed attending his class. He was really down to earth and explained the material in the best possible way to understand. He related the material to real-life which made it great. I read one chapter out of the book the whole semester and received an A in the class. he mostly goes over everything in lecture. There are quizzes every class and sometimes more than one. It just benefits you overall. I definitely would recommend him to anyone!!!

I absolutely LOVED this class and this professor! I have never had so much fun in a class before and learned so much at the same time. His lectures are interesting and entertaining and he always makes you laugh. The way he speaks is absolutely captivating and I would recommend this class to anyone and everyone. You won't be disappointed!!

Only bad thing about his class is that its JAM PACKED. You pretty much have to go everyday,but he is highly entertaining. Easy to follow along with, easy to take notes, and you will learn a lot about why you think the way you think. You will laugh out loud several times per class. The textbooks are small, and easy reading. Def take this class

Aside from his unique grading system (A=95-100, B=85-94, ect) & grade cap (highest grade=quiz average & an additional paper is req'd to keep an A), Marty is one of the best profs I've ever had. Don't let the 1st class scare you off - he's just trying to make room for the people on the waiting list. NO EXAMS - just quizzes (10 counted, 17 taken)

Marty is a great instructor. He relates the concepts of rhetoric to real-life examples, has a great sense of humor, explains the material succinctly, and gives you plenty of room to do well in the course by your own effort. I would highly recommend him, as I've never before enjoyed a lecture-hall course as much as I did this one.

Marty was a great instructor. Just show up to class and take good notes and you will be fine for the quizzes and tests. There are a lot of quizzes but only the top 20 are counted so it's nice to take a bunch to drop all the low scores. Fantastic instructor and everything was explained in an easy to understand manner.

Marty is to teaching communication what Gandalf is to sorcery. Seriously, he is among the best professors I've ever had and made me want to show up to class every day. The man is a legend among BSU communication students and I think he might be a ninja in his free time. A crime-fighting, omniscient, comm-teaching ninja of justice and education.

Marty is a great teacher! He makes this class very entertaining and interesting, and he is super funny. If you hate public speaking i highly reccomend this class instead of taking comm 101. There are quizzes pretty much everyday so attendance is pretty much mandatory. But the quizzes are a piece of cake. He is by far the best profesor i have had!

Attendance is not mandatory but if you want a good grade you will attend all classes because he doesn't tell you when he will have quizzes which make up most of your grade. Lectures are very entertaining. He has a skewed grading scale but as he explains it doesn't really matter. I highly recommend taking this class from him.

I have never respected a prof as much as I respect Marty. The man is passionate, caring and highly intelligent. His down-to-earth teaching style and real world knowledge make any Most class a must-take. Also, his rants are hilarious.

This professor is by far the best I've had at BSU. He makes learning the material very interesting. His lectures are NEVER boring and attendance is mandatory but class is so fun, you'll want to go! Definitely take this course from him. You won't regret it!

The best formal teaching I have ever received was from Marty Most. He uses social skills that connect with every type of learner. 50% of your grade is daily quizzes. He has a VERY strict no technology policy. Do not waste his time and he will never waste yours.

Great Professor. Material is common sense, but if you over think it it can get challenging. Quizzes, midterm, and final make up the final grade in the class. TAKE HIM

When i signed up for this class i only took it for my generals but i am so glad i took it marty is a great teacher and really knows his stuff! its not easy to get an A but it is totally worth it!

Dr. Most is brilliant! Just don't piss him off (or get into any argument with him for that matter ... he will tear you up). He is very eloquent and clear when he speaks. He makes jokes and keeps the class interesting. His grading scale is a little weird, but the subject matter is easy enough to make up for it. Great class and a great teacher!

This class was GREAT. Took it as a comm. requirement, best class I have taken, and I'm a biology major! He's very clear. Attend class every day and you can easily get good grades. Daily quizzes (Sometimes multiple), a midterm, and a final are your grade. He only counts 20 quizzes though, and gave over 30 in our class. Awesome teacher!

At first I was scared, because I've heard horror stories of him calling out people in class. However, he's actually quite funny and super smart. I once talked to him and he was extremely nice. Totally possible to get an A, but remember that an A is a 94, not a 90; Don't let that scare you. Also, you have to go to class!

Most is wily and entertaining to listen to. Show up to class, skim the readings, and take detailed notes from the powerpoints. He doesn't use blackboard so if you don't take notes from the powerpoints in class you have no way to reference them later on. He loves quizes and will chew you out big time for disrupting class in any way.

Extremely articulate and intelligent professor. He teaches with a passionate intensity all while keeping bias' to a minimum. Clear and logical, I HIGHLY recommend this course to EVERYONE.

great teacher, demands that you show up to every class or it hurts your grade because of quizzes that you take daily sometimes up to 3 a day. Show up do the quizzes and good on mid term and test you will pass. very good teacher and class.

Incoming Freshman take this class. Marty will help you understand the institutions you will encounter throughout college and life. The class is not difficult and not particularly in depth, yet it will give you a great frame of reference for the rest of your college career.

No better professor than Marty. His class is one of a kind and everyone should be required to know this material. I learned about History, Philosophy, movies and some basics about religious backgrounds in American society. He should be training other professors on how to present and expect at the level he does. & Leave your cell off. Trust me.

His class is funny and makes hard material easier to understand. There is a decent amount of reading that you MUST do. Quizes 1-5 times a class, so you have to come prepared. It is not a class you can just show up to. You must do the work to pass! He has a diff. grading scale. If you don't get a B or better, you fail.

He has amazing lectures and is great at keeping students interested. There are almost always quizzes though so try to go to as many classes as you can. Don't leave early because he will sometimes give a quiz at the end of class.

Professor Most was great. He was very enthusiastic and made the course material fun and interesting. He loves quizzes and they are a large portion of your final grade, so although attendance is not mandatory, missing too many classes will definitely lower your quizfinal grade.

Most enjoyable lectures of my entire college career (I'm a senior). Marty is interesting, playful, thorough & clear. He makes tough subjects comprehensible and gives a great overview of the social systems that undergird American culture. He also teaches how to make an argument that is effective, persuasive & stand up to attack. Love his style!

Professor Most is one of the best professors you could ever take. Sure, its a lot of reading in this course but if you do it you will pass every quiz. Radically intelligent, clear, effective and passionate. I couldn't give a higher recommendation for people who care about their education.

Not many teachers can command the attention of 200 students in an auditorium for 75 minutes. Marty Most can. He is probably one of the top 3 teachers at Boise State, maybe THE top (he did win teaching awards). You will come out of reasoned discourse with a strong ability to discern fallacies. Marty is a total laugh as well as brilliant. Take him!

TONS OF QUIZZES! But that's basically it. No homework, and only two tests. Also a really interesting class, and I believe it was really practical.

Absolutely must take, his class should be a requirement, not just COMM112, but Marty's COMM112, I would take it twice if I could.

He has to be one of the best instructors i have ever had. His classes (COM-112) are sometimes boring, but 80% of the time they are fun and engaging. The way he presents the material makes it stick in your head. He doesn't use blackboard or any online program. The only graded work are quizzes given in class, but if you pay attention they are easy.

One of the best professors I have ever had! He is for sure the "Quiz King". We had a total of 30 quizzes, but they are simple if you show up and pay attention to his lectures. The overall setup was excellent. No homework-just quizzes and the 2 tests are just reworks of the quizzes. I learned useful techniques for finding fallacies and arguing.

This was my favorite class all semester, and I give 100% of credit for that to Marty Most. There's a ton of quizzes, at least one a class, but they are seriously easy if you just sit through his lectures. He doesn't care if you go to class, but since theres no makeups on quizzes its kind of mandatory. Super interesting, I gained a lot.

Marty is not only down-to-earth, he is compassionate. However, don't mess around in his class and distract other students. He takes the academic experience seriously and it shows in his commitment to his students. He is the best lecturer I've ever heard. Humorous, clear, thorough and memorable. Out of all of my classes this semester, my COMM112 class was always the one I looked forward to the most. He is not a young professor but he is sharper, more knowledgeable, and self-aware than most! He is also hilarious. There is at least one quiz a class but you get used to it. One of the most enjoyable and useful classes ever!

I would recommend this class to ANYONE. Marty's lectures are funny and very entertaining. I have nothing bad to say about the class or this professor. Do not hesitate to take COMM 112 with him. It is worth it.

Mardy is a great professor. He is engaging and interactive with his students. He also teaches you really interesting things in this class that expands your world view. Not to mention that, for an old guy, he is really cute :)

He is very good at making you pay attention. Some of his lectures are funny and interesting. You have a lot of quizzes. He is a good teacher. Nobody has said in the comments before but his grading system is different than other professors. If you have a low A it is a B, if you have a low B it is a C. Otherwise he is awesome.

Favorite prof at BSU. Hard grading scale but worth it. The books are interesting and engaging. You only have to write the final paper if you want an A so no final tests or midterm. Highly recommend!

Marty is an amazing teacher and I am actually interested in his class and learn a lot. His class is all quiz based and you have to do the reading to get a good grade. I spend 4-5 hours a week to do the reading.

Marty most is an extremely straight forward cut to the chase guy. He is great about questions and his lectures are great. He find multiple ways to get the subject to come across clearly to everyone. Expect to read your text books and expect a quiz every class. You will learn to love them. He does one midterm and one final exam. His grading is fair.

He is a GREAT prof! Be ready to READ, read, read! If you take good notes you'll do fine on the quizzes. Class is solely based on quizzes with no midterm or final. You choose to write a paper if you want that A+. Highly recommend if your a person who does not mind reading, ALOT!

1-3 quizzes/class (25-30/semester). Open note IF handwritten. Grade made up of top 20 scores. Even if you get 100% on all quizzes, you have to write the optional paper at the end to get an A. As long as you take good notes on the readings & lectures, you'll do fine. The reading isn't that bad once you get into the groove of things. No exams.
