She doesn't know how to explain things...and you will end up with bad grade.
Very clear, straightforward
She's okay... didn't complain
Her explanations are not very clear and she wastes time on easy things and rushes through harder things. Take this class if you don't really care about the material.
Really a good teacher. I hate math but she helps me to understand it in a very easy way
Good teacher but talks to fast. She is very nice and helpful.
Very good teacher. She will help you a lot if you ask. Her review handout sheets help you gain a firm understanding of the material.
makes class boring, too strict on homework policy. once she hates u, she will be mean to u the rest of the semester. didn't explain material well, talks too fast

Very good teacher!!! Her review sheets show exactly what she expects for each test....no guessing about what you need to know. Put in the effort, and with her help, success is a piece of cake.
Very good teacher!. is a little strict on what she expects from youbut if u just do what she says u will be fine. very approchable and will wokr with you. very clear explanations. DONT SLEEP IN HER CLASS! but over all i say she is A GREAT TEACHER
Best math teacher I've ever had..in fact, before I took her class, I HATED math, got bad grades in math, and didn't understand it at all. Once I took her class, she taught everything so clearly, and made herself available via email for help. Needless to say I got an A in her class.
She is a very nice teacher. You can e-mail her and she will help you. Pretty good teacher too.
This instructor is very difficult. She moves too fast. Does not explain all the steps. Not available to answer any questions during her teaching. If you didn't get it, too BAD. Everyone in her class got low grades because she is so HARD! I do not recommend this instructor.
very smart and energetic. she makes math just a little tinny bit interesting, which is hard... but shes pretty nice. just moves very fast. will answer any one on one questions via email. but moves too quick and gives a lot of homework. shes a little wierd, but overall, the class isnt horrible.
She is very difficult, but it's because she challenges her students. She doesn't treat us like idiots. She expects a lot and that's something I've never had before. She was great, so helpful and willing to take time out to help. I got my first A in math in her class. Take her, you won't regret it.
great teacher verry smart and knows her math! she it tough but if you try you will succeed. she is verry orginized and punctual.
I have to have a good math teacher in order to do good. Not very clear in teaching. she just expects you to get it, and teach yourself. she only gives like one example of how to do something. And if you have questions she isn't very eager to help you. she wants you to do it on your own. she gives alot Homework, but she doesn't collect it.
I loved her!!!!!!! was never good at math but she helped me understand it. she really knew what she was talking about
she explain very well.
She's very helpful and explains things in an understandable way. She also is very energetic which makes the class interesting......her hands are never still...
THE BEST MATH TEACHER EVER!!!! I REALLY RECOMEND TAKING HER, SHE IS A LITTLE HARD BUT YOU ACTUALLY LEARN A LOT!!!!
Very hard tests that are nearly immposible to pass. She moves really fast and does not have time for questions when lecturing. IF YOU MUST take this class do it with another instructer.
I really enjoyed the way that she taught the class. I had always hated and failed math. But for the first time ever i was able to get a high A in her class! Thanks so much miss hidden!
I HATE math. None of it makes sense to me. So, for a math teacher, I'd say she was pretty good. She's tries her very hardest to make sure u get it. Do the homework. take notes. If u don't she will notice, and that's not to fun. if you have a question, she will answer within a hour or so via email almost all hours of the day and the night.
im ok at math but still needed extra help and this class helped me trmendously i have a B in the class and its because im getting a's on the tests. do the homework and listen in class and you will do good.
the last math class I took before this I got a D, BARELY, and I got an A in this class. As long as you copy ALL the notes she writes on the board, you will do awesome because she covers everything you possibly need to know, and if you have questions, she is really quick to respond to her emails.
She teachs clearly. But you turn in problem set on time.If you turn late 2 mins, you will get half grade.
she's a VERY good teacher..but she makes it hard to ditch class.u miss one day and ur sooooo far behind.. so GO TO CLASS!!
She is a really good teacher! You can send her E-mails with your Math Questions and she'll answer them!
Very clear teacher, easy to understand. Just do ALL of your homework and go to EVERY class and you will do fine. No suprizes
She will bend over backwards to help you. She wants you to learn and understand the material. She will answer questions via email (she gets back to you fast!) and will see you on her office hours. I hate math and always just barley get an 'C' - I got an 'A' only because of her. Just make sure you do ALL your work.
I liked her teaching but I felt like she was very very hard. We had a lot of test and a whole bunch of homework. She is not an easy teacher. I did not pass her class. I have never not passed a class before. The final was very hard and so long!
Easy class and fun, helpful professor. Just make sure u do ur hw and ull get an a fersher
what do i say abt her. she is an excellent teacher, she explain 2 U very eazy way, if u dont get, ask her, she will answer u right away in class N during hw time, u could ask her via thru email, day or night, i got an A in tat, she give u 3 test N final. well the only thing 2 PASS tat class is DO UR Hw, study ur exam/FINAL.. :) HIGHLY RECOMMENDING!
He has to be tha best math teacher i have ever had. He will help you too understand the math no matter what and she has so many techniques to use. Her class was fun and she explains everything in great detail. Highly recomend.
class was hard for it being the first time ive taken any calc. It was very fast paced and hard to learn. She went through every concept so fast that it was hard to grasp and then it was on to the next thing. If you dont understand it from the beginning, then youre screwed. she is a nice lady though and tries to help. its just a tough subject.
she is really good at explaining it in a simpler manner. she helps you after class if you need it. easy quizes. even easier tests. fair amount of homework. i would recommend her to anyone, especially those struggeling in math. she was great!
She explains everything very thoroughly and truly wants her students to succeed. The only way you could not do well in this class is if you are lazy and don't do your homework or copy down notes.
She knows what she's talking about, but unless you have a prior interest in math, you will not like her teaching style. You're on your own if you need help, she's willing to help you, but is very unapproachable.
Good teacher. Homework wasn't collected which was cool. For those of you that are good at math, the quizzes and tests were fairly easy. I got a high A in this class without ever doing the homework and I barely studied. If you're not good at math, she explains everything pretty well so it shouldn't be too hard.
First math professor I've had that I didn't think was an idiot. Explains things very clearly and puts it in simple terms so it's easier to understand. Friendly, helpful, and patient. Easy to do well in the class, as long as you aren't lazy.
Math280 is not easy class; however, she makes it very interesting and fun. As long as you do the HW and keep up with the class you will be just fine. there are several problem sets during the semester, but those are usually very easy if you know the material. just do your HM
The course is easy to understand and easy to follow. If you attend the classes you can understand everything and get an "A".
I have NEVER liked math, but I did really well with her. She makes everything soo easy to understand and is EXTREMELY helpful, she returns emails very quickly. She explains things in a way that everyone can understand. Do yourself a favor and take her, a guaranteed A!! She is a sweetheart and really cares about her students.
She is a very good math prof. study the lecture note, especially the examples in the note. do the Homework and the assignments. got A
She is proof that calculus can be fun and easy. GREAT CLASS!!
Very clear, straight to the point, no frills or fuss. Makes it easy to understand and her tests are reasonable. She makes herself available to help you although the office hours could be better. Follow the class rules or be penalized. Stay caught up on work and study well to pass this class. She is a very good teacher! She makes math interesting.
she was amazing.. simple as that..you needed help.. you got it. nothing was ever confusing.. and if someone thought something was.. she would explain it.. i'm taking another math class.. and i really wish she was available for it.
she has an annoying voice but is a pretty good teacher. do all the homework and study really hard for the tests and maybe you will pass.
she's difficult and makes math boring! gives tons of homework as if math is the only class!!! Whoever said she was easy is obviously stupid! tests are ok. don't take her...she keeps the class in late too!
she is a very nice funny proffesor. she goes through the notes clearly but make sure not to miss a class or else ull b a day behind the notes and you will not understan it. i loved her class. and tutoring is really helpful. got a B on the class.
There is no need to explain about her...simply THE BEST PROFESSOR AT OCC!!!
She has an unfair grading system. If there isn't enough work shown you loose more than half credit, even if you have the right answer. When you show all the work and have the right answer but circle the wrong number (Oops) you loose half credit. You HAVE to use her way, you can't follow rules from the text, or you lose credit, and lots of it.
I Struggle with math, so i am not good at it to begin with. She is strict, expect to attend class everyday, or you will fall behind. She does not accept late homework, and does not allow you to make up test, she does drop your lowest test and quiz and replaces it with whatever u get on the final. I ended having to drop her class. she wouldnt let ta
There's homework due almost every class-day, a few tests (one which gets replaced by the final), and some seldom "problem sets" which is basically a sheet that has 5 or so problems on it. HW turned in after the start of class is 1/2 credit. She's funny and all of her notes are on PowerPoint. If you miss a day, email her for the notes. Recommended!
The packet that she provides from the bookstore is helpful and efficient. Overall, her class is very streamlined and organized. Each class covers a new chapter in the packet, and after two chapters, the (fairly easy) homework is due. Tests were perfectly reasonable, and always relevant to what she covered. Pay attention and you will do fine.
Great teacher, actually took my fear of math away for the semester. Everything was explained in real world ways so i wasn?t ever worried that i would never be using this again. If you hate math take her just do all your homework...
she has her own lecture notes, which was extremely helpful when i prepared the exams. she gives 4 exams and 1 final, which was pretty easy compared to the exams. Also, she gives problem set every week to be turned in and graded. she knows the materials and explains them in a clear way.however, the class fast-paced and you are expected to studyalot.
Great Professor! Has her own lecture notes that really help out in studying for her exams and in comprehending the material. Does a lot to prepare you for exams and makes calc 3 look easy!
Easy class. Do ALL homework STUDY for the quizzes and tests.DO NOTTT be late whenever homework is due. she takes a way 5 points off your homework. DO NOTTT TALK OR USE CELLPHONE OR SLEEP!!! SHE IS STRICT ABOUT IT! Also, on quiz days all she does is review homework and then take quiz which makes class easier since she goes through hwk before quiz.
Too picky about grade. no curve. no mercy. coldhearted other than that, good.
had her for liberal arts math and shes a really enthusiastic teacher, who knows the material shes teaching. she's very helpful. there is no textbook, just a $10 or so pack of notes that you work out of. homework is due weekly. material starts easy but gets a alot harder, so stay on top of it. bring a calculator.
Math is her world so she knows what she is talking about. It's a pretty easy class if you don't miss any days. Otherwise make a friend and copy their notes. Also silence your phone! She is like a hawk on that, she will come down on you if your phone so much as vibrates. Haha, I'm not kidding either.
if you're lazy or just looking for an easy A then stay away from her. When it comes to grading, she is merciless. Plus, she is very strict. Beside that, she is AWESOME! truly the BEST math professor ever! she's very organized and crystal clear. A++
Very organized and helpful. Would take her for every future math class if I could. Tests are directly from the notes she has you print off for class. Do all homework.
This is without a doubt the best math teacher in town. Very organized, crystal clear on her expectations. She will also help anytime it is needed. Test are very similar to notes. Take her if you are serious about learning Math.
Fantastic teacher. You don't have to get the book because she provides you with her own at a much more responsible price ($10 vs. $80). Very clear and helpful. Puts things into terms that everyone can understand. I think she is great. I would recommend her for sure.
Professor Hidden is a very respectful teacher. She gives it her all to teach the students and makes the material easier to grasp. The exams are not tricky but they are not easy, study and do all the hw assigned to be familiar with the problems. One thing I admired was her immediate response to emails regarding problems sets. Grade earned B (87).
Overall, she's a great great Math Professor. However, when it comes to grading exams, she's really really hard. You might got the solution right to the problem but you didnt get full credit. Doing homework is a MUST to survive this course.
Marti is a great teacher. She makes blank templates for notes and puts them online so when you are done copying the notes they are so easy and helpful to go over. He tests are exactly like the study guide. She is very picky on notation though; your test work AND answers have to be absolutely perfect for full credit.
I have always hated math because I could never understand it fully. With professor Hidden, my view on the subject has completely changed. She is amazing at teaching in a way everyone understands. The course structure is very organized and prevents students from getting behind. Now I actually like math...and am getting an A!
I ABSOLUTELY HATE MATH BUT PROFESSOR HIDDEN MADE MATH SO FUN TO LEARN AND SHE CHANGED MY PERSECTIVE ON MATH. HANDS DOWN I WOULD RECOMMEND HER CLASS
Good for a morning class - her enthusiasm will definitely keep you awake. She is quick in email responses. Schedule a meeting or visit by her office hours if you need help. Big plus: she does not require text, just a $10 packet from the bookstore. Because of her, I LOVE MATH.
Marti's class is a great class to be in. Unfortunately, it's Calc 3, which can be difficult in general. However, she makes the topics very palpable and will always be available for help. She will go over the problem sets even before turning them in. There is some xtra credit. Bottom line, if taking Calc 3 (or any Math class in general), take Marti!
Loved this teacher. She taught very well and is very helpful! i would recommend her, if you do all or your assignments you will get a C if you do that and do well on the quizes you will get a B. the tests will bring your grade down so just study the quizes you get back, and the hw assignments! oh and DO NOT fall asleep she will embress you, and
Professor Hidden covers lots of material quickly, but there are no surprises in her class. Exams are similar to homework and contain mostly easy to medium difficulty questions. Class is boring as hell, but you'd get the same no matter which math teacher you pick. She does an excellent job explaining, and her notes are good, too.
Pr.Hidden is a good teacher but her grading scale is very harsh, 0 on any paper if you don't have a proper or incomplete heading, and she's very picky on problems such as factoring out negatives and complete sentences. The book is used daily for homework, and yes you have homework daily and a worksheet weekly. Tests are written, and she makes notes
Fun class. Calc 3 in general is not a difficult class but it's not a simple class either like Calc 1. However, she really tries to get you into it and does everything she can to help you understand it. Exams aren't hard but she's VERY PICKY in grading. So, answer all the questions correctly and don't leave out any small details.
Getting an A in this class is very simple: do your homework and understand it. It is simple, but not easy because she assigns a lot of homework and the material can sometimes be challenging to understand. The test are very fair. If you did the homework and the reviews, you should get an A. She's very picky on grading too.
she is absolutely the BEST math teacher I've ever had. Her notes are all very crystal clear, everything needed is online, ect. Got good grades on all my tests/quizzes/hwk but failed to get an A cuz of the ridiculous clicker. Its not fair cuz to get the question right you have to understand the probs right away...sucks but awesome teach!!
Great teacher! The class is simple once you learn the routine, just make sure you pay attention in class and take good notes. She's very patient if you ask her to explain something again, and is a very fair teacher. The lessons are set up to be easily understood, and it helps when she goes over the homework before each quiz.
I have one complaint: in class worksheets. What a nightmare. MOST people are copying each other's answers. I was bothered by one classmate so much that I made a mistake on my own worksheet. That's NOT fair at all.
Good teacher. Uses her own packet for homework and its not expensive. No need for textbook. Easy course, not much homework and quizzes and tests are fair. Easy to understand concepts. Don't text in her class or talk too much, she hates it. Don't be late to quizzes/tests...she'll take off points.
Marta is passionate about what she does and makes math 100 as enjoyable as it could be for someone who doesn't care for math. She has her lessons planned out for the entire semester, so you always know what to expect every day, however, you CANNOT miss class or you will be lost! She teaches clearly and is always there to answer questions.
She is nice and sometimes helpful but she makes life hard. if you are one second late she will take your homework for half credit and the final lasts for two days. both parts are comprehensive and insanely hard. she is very strict and the class is difficult. Dont take the class if you have a hard time with math.
Really good teacher, and tries to drill everything into your brain. Alot of homework. She doesn't like hearing cell phones in class, and is definitely a picky grader. Had to study a week in advance for the last test, and a little over a week for the final in order to get A's. Try to get as many points as you can on the problem sets.
Beware, the Trigonometry class was not easy for me, but I feel like "I learned more than just trigonometric functions from this class." During office hours, I would visit her office and she was happy to assist me with problems that were a tough solve for me. If you're a slow worker, try to apply for "Special Services" to get the extra test time.
She explains concept well, but problem sets get tougher throughout the semester. For the exams you need to study the concept inside and out. She grades hard, if you do not follow the exact steps she wanted to see, but had the correct answer, she takes points off. I worked my tail off, but had to drop.
Never really interested in mathematics before this class, and was never good at it. Professor Hidden made it easy and was very helpful throughout the course. There was homework due every class meeting, however she always went over it in class. If you pay attention and ask questions you will succeed in this class. Highly recommend Professor Hidden.
Professor Hidden is a good math teacher. She has strict rules, but they are fair. Do not be late(and if you're late on an exam, quiz, or homework day you get points off), no cell phones, and no falling asleep in class. So what? Those are fair rules IMO. She goes over the HW before each quiz which is really helpful. Study hard and you'll do fine! :)
Do not expect to be babied. H/w due everyday. Group Quizzes, and chapter tests. You use the book a lot. Strict with grading. I would recommend going to tutoring. But she is extremely helpful. She's the best math teacher I have taken so far.
One of the best calculus teacher. She really gives out clear explanations about what is going on in math and she explains the purpose of learning a certain formula or theorem in order to solve certain goals. You should go to class everyday because her lecture is more clear than the book. she only choose the hw that will be on the test.
To start, I have to say that she the most friendly person ever. Her tests are pointlessly hard, and she grades as if she has a grudge against you (dont expect to get any points for the correct answer) That being said, the notes are good and easy to follow. My advice is to learn from here, then take the class again with a more understanding teacher
This class is difficult, but I learned a lot. There's a take home quiz every week and a homework assignment due every class meeting. Also, there are four tests and a two day final. DON'T BE LATE to class, because she gives you half credit on whatever is due that day. I worked really hard and ended up with a high B. You have to study!
SHE IS THE BEST PROFESSOR! shes so clear in her explanations. she is so organized. there is a lot of homework and her tests are a little difficult, but if you put in the effort, you can definitely get an A or B.
Professor Hidden convinced me to like math again. She offers real life examples to the work that you have to do. You must show up to keep up with her pace. I recommend her as a teacher to everyone. Do the work and study hard. That's not asking for much!
hardest class I ever took, but learned a lot. Lotta people failed, so make sure to stay on top of your game. She sure is picky, but you'll get used to that.
Mrs. Hidden doesn't mess around, and you should know that going in to the class. She is very clear from day one about what she expects from you. I actually enjoyed doing math in this class because most of it was applicable to real life. You can tell she is very passionate about her job and that she wants everyone to succeed.
This teacher made class really difficult. Go to Special Services if it takes awhile for you to get through a test or quiz because she does not give anybody some extra time. You have to be in class every day or else you may fall behind. She is also pretty strict.
I would not advise taking this course. I had an A in previous calculus courses, but for this professor I nearly failed. All problems must be done exactly and in the correct format. If you're not good at math, I would highly suggest finding another professor, otherwise you will have a difficult time
I wish I can take her for precal next semester because she's a really good math teacher. Don't expect to take her class and expect an easy A. You have to work for it which is the challenging yet exciting part. I like how shes strictly about math and she has a strong passion for math which is the biggest motivation for me while taking her class.
Marti Hidden was the best math professor I have had up to this point. She tells you what you need to do to do well in the class and it does take a lot of work but that is the nature of the class. She is very organized and I greatly appreciated her grading the tests the same day and posting the scores on blackboard. She is an extremely good teacher.
AWESOME! I actually learned something in her Trig class. She is strict with homework and etc but it's worth it, I did very well in her class
She's a great teacher. Very logical and clear. A little bit strict and hot temper though. If you don't follow her rule you will be in big trouble. She's very nice when you come to office and ask question but if you cheat or sleep in class, you will be kicked out. Do the problem set and study hard, you will be ok
Oh, how I love this woman haha :) Very picky with notation though, so watch out! There is hw assigned daily, which is reviewed the following day. Her notes and the problem sets are very similar to the exams, and the hardest thing is the in-class problem sets. Strict on attendance, easy exams, gives partial credit & some EC, solid lecturer!
The best professor I have ever had. My previous calc prof was so bad that I was afraid that I might have a hard time in this class. But no, Marta delivered clear lectures and exams are fairly easy. Very glad I took her class!
Marta is an incredible teacher. I have never been a math person, and she actually got me interested in the material. Realistic examples, fill in the blank notes, and she does a review of the homework before every quiz. Tests are fair and multiple choice. If you ask her questions, she WILL help you. Homework and clicker points will earn your A.
Hidden a great math professor! Yes, she might be picky but she makes it very clear what she expects from her students. Her exams are never a surprise since she gives us plenty of problem sets that are very similar to the exam questions. If you do the homework and pay attention to her lectures, you will do well in this class!
Professor hidden is such an excellent professor! She makes the material easy to understand. She gives a lot of work but fully prepares you for her exams. I would definitely recommend her.
Miss Martha is a great teacher.. The class is very easy to understand but you have to focus.. Make sure you follow her directions and you will be fine. Homework must be the way she explain the first time on class otherwise you will have a big "0".. I was very happy with this class. She explain so good that you will understand.
Her mother passed away in the middle of the semester. The day of the funeral she still held class. Anyone who bad mouths her doesn't value their education. Every teacher should be modeled after her. She is very strict and tests are pretty hard, but totally doable if you study. The knowledge you will walk away with is unbelievable, TAKE HER!
I had her for Fall 2011. All I got to say is picky grader. You must follow her way of how she wants work to be shown or else points will be deducted. Daily problem sets each week but gets harder as semester progress. Quizzes are fair and doable. Exams are not easy so you gotta study very hard. No curve. Barely passed. Get a study group.
great great professor!! would take her again for sure. she's a little strict but knows her stuff well! i recommend her for anyone who usually struggles in math
This is the toughest calc prof i have ever had. But in a good way. I learned so much from her class, her notes are super clear, she gives you all the resources to do well on her exams. There are weekly problem sets which get harder every week. Her exams are hard, but not tricky, which i prefer. Do the homework(not collected) and study her review
She sets up tutoring sessions at the Success Center for extra credit. TAKE THEM. She answers all questions until you understand. She's STRICT. Don't talk while she's talking, don't text in class and you'll be fine. Do the homework. It's not hard and the mymathlab makes it simple stupid. She helped me understand math like never before.
I am the type of kid who just takes math just to get through it... I dont care about the subject and this was just another hoop I had to go through to get out of OCC. She is a great teacher, very strict and if you're on your phone during class she will drop your ass. I found the class very easy. It's basic math... Math 30 & 10 is harder then this
I DON'T like math, because I understand it on a level I can't reach. But Marta made it easy enough to understand and put my anxiety to rest! Take notes, participate in clicker questions, do the homework, study for the quizzes and test, and don't talk or sleep in class and you pass! I'll never be cheated on auto loans again! Thanks Marta!! Kat
She is very clear. Her homework is very long and she grades tough. Pop quiz every week. If you follow exactly what she says you will do fine. If she sees your phone or you fall asleep your kicked out. She is very strict and a no nonsense type of women. I got a B in the class. She gives you a packet which you fill out with examples from her lecture
Did you like High School? You will love this class. Worst teacher I've had at OCC. If this site would allow it, I would give her all zeros. Take anyone else, if you can.
She make lesson easier to understand. clearly rule and grade.
Trust me! She's the best Math professor in OCC. On the 1st day of class, she'll scare you by her strong tough warn. But don't worry at all! She just wanted you to be serious in your study. Be careful and do all the problem set (easy and just 5 problems/week). You can do hw or not. For Asian, this is a SUPER EASY class for you! Just sayin' :) Gluck
Good professor. Strongly recommend to take.
High-quality, a bit scary but funny, speak fast but understandable, amazing lectures, inspirational and passionate, respected by students, friendly and thoughtful, strict but always care of you, very helpful - ready to give feedback at anytime, super fast mail reply. You will regret if not taking her for Math at OCC :)
I never really enjoyed math until I took this class. Professor Hidden really does know how to teach math and even if you still have trouble with the assignments she went out of her way to make videos that go step by step to solve problems (those really help for the homework). You can pass with average effort. Highly recommend.
If you're bad at math take this class. The topics covered are interesting and may even be useful. Every chapter is linked to a profession. I wouldn't take it if you plan to go on in math but if you're bad at math take this class. Marta is an excellent teacher, just pay attention and do the homework (which isn't much) and you can get an A.
Definitely recommend taking this class. She is one of the best professors at OCC. Very organized and clear. She goes over each and every problem in class. Exams are easy. She is strict in a good way. You'll appreciate time more. If you do your homework, pay attention in class and do well on your exams, you're definitely getting an A.
She understands the material very well. She has been helpful whenever I have seen her. I more argue on the easiness. She is worried about proving the topics rather than using examples. Then she will do a problem (for example take the derivative of 2x) send you home expecting you to be able to take the derivative of the sqrt(arctanx)/sec^2x. js
The professor is funny, which makes more a little more bearable. The class is not too hard as long as you attend class and keep up with your homework. The structure of the class is really cool, too.
Great professor from an introducing new concepts standpoint. However, her tests can be tricky if you're not careful. I wish they were more fair, as she may attempt to trip you up. Stay ahead on studying. Do the homework. She tends to have a HS teacher vibe in her class, but it's not awful. Also, very accessible communication-wise.
Very good professor. Notes are printout so you don't worry about copying and can focus on learning. Homework is not mandatory. Not necessary unless you struggle to understand the subject. Got an A in her class on study guides alone. High school vibe. Will answer any questions fast. Highly recommended.
I just finished the Math180 by her, and i got the A. She is very nice and dynamic professor that I have learned. Although she got some personal trouble, she recovered soon and back to the teaching without any trouble. I highly recommend u guys taking her class. No mandatory homework, lessons are well-prepared under handouts. And no cellphones
Strict, but great overall
Professor Hidden is very strict but it just shows that she cares and wants to help you. She is very clear when teaching and really breaks things down for you to help you understand the material better. Homework and exams weren't too bad. As long as you print the notes, show up & pay attention and do hw, it'll be an easy A.
By far one of the worst teachers iv ever had. I dropped when some asked her to clarify a problem and her response was "I ready went over that, weren't you listening?!" Someone is asking for help and that's the way the teacher responds smh! She must Be tired of her job, that was unexceptable. Test are graded hard. Lose points for being 2 min late!
This professor is OK. She does a good job at teaching you the material and will answer your questions but her class is based primarily on tests and she doesn't give you enough time..
She is a nice teacher BUT her exams were so hard. Even if you do homework and understand the materials, you won't do well on exams. I took her b/c I looked at this rate but it is no longer accurate.
if you want to get an A in Math 180, I would not recommend her. It's really hard to get an A.
This is a tough class, but Mrs. Hidden gives you everything you need to succeed. Well designed pdfs to take notes on, exercise sets every week, lots of homework that she goes over every class, practice tests, extra credit, etc. She explains concepts very well, and puts a lot of work into this class. If you do the same, you'll do well with her.
I never thought I'd be able to get an A in math, until I took her! She is an amazing professor and is great at teaching the criteria to you. Weekly homework, quizzes every two chapters, 4 exams, and a final test covering all material. If you come to class and take good notes in the course handout book, you will succeed in this class. TAKE HER.
Gives her notes online and you bring them in and fill them out. SUCH an effective method. You can actually pay attention to what she's saying instead of scrambling to keep up on paper. Super clear with what she is explaining and what she expects from you. Amazing professor
Some people really don't like her beacuse she is strict but i found Marta a true joy to work with. She provides her own notes that you fill in as you go through the class. her tests are only hard if you don't do the hw and don't study. if you have questions go to her office hours!! take this class if you have the motivation to learn.
A strict professor, but passionate about math and cares about helping her students pass. She does have office hours so take advantage of it if you suck at math. Show up, participate in class, do the homework and study for the exams or you won't pass. Also, don't even think of sleeping or using your phone in class, she'll throw you out.
I don't care if she is strict or not as long as she is a good teacher, but I extremely dislike the way she talks to the students as if they were lower than her. Also, constantly reminding students the class is difficult and how she fails a lot of people does not encourage people to work harder. Not a great choice of teacher for new students.
Worst professor eveeeeer I don't get why some people wrote good stuff about her. I still don't get her strategy of grading she marks your points of for no reason.
She is strict because she expects a lot from her students. She uses her electronic device to write on lecture notes projected on the board. It makes the class run smoothly every week. Being a tough grader but not a hard test giver. Take note carefully and do all homework in the textbook, you should be fine in her class.
She is strict, but very clear in what she wants from you. Print out the class notes and bring it to class, really easy to follow. Have homework every week, test review is helping you for the test. You only fail the class if you don't do any of the review nor homework.
Pros: she is clear, organized, smart, and posts grades very promptly. Cons: she comes across rude because she seems to have no patience to answer students' questions in class. She seems to assume that people are going to do poorly and says so. I didn't like the way she treated students, but the actual class was very easy.
I took professor Hidden's class for Math 180. At first, I was very concerned due to some negative reviews. However, I finished the class with an A and Pr. Hidden turned out to be one of the best Math professors I've ever had. If you want to pass, you must show up to class, pay attention to the lectures and do the homework. No phones or laptops.
Initially, Hidden comes off as unapproachable, but she ended up becoming my favorite math prof. Show up, do the homework, ask questions and there shouldn't be any reason not to pass. The exams are based off the homework so it's very clear what she's asking. Also, lectures were very straightforward and helpful. Will definitely be taking her again.
Extremely chill professor. I learned alot from her calculus class. Homework is not mandatory but really helps for prepping for the test.
Second time I have had her and I absolutely loved her class. She trains you to be a student with excellent habits and explains everything clearly.
I have had the great displeasure of meeting this person she is demeaning to her students extremely nitpicky as in if you do the work get the correct answers but you don't get the answer her way she will mark you off. Extremely condescending and lacks the human elements of teaching. That being said she definitely knows her stuff.
Professor Hidden is an incredibly gifted and helpful educator. Throughout my life I have struggled in the area of math, but this professor structures her lectures around students' understanding. She is incredible. The first time in my life that I have gotten a perfect grade in a math course. She builds information clearly for better understandi
Math isn't an interesting subject but she is a great teacher! Awesome notes and gives clear understanding on how to solve!! The class is all lecture but she is great at explaining things
She is an amazing professor and is very talented at teaching. You learn a lot from her and she really explains it so you understand. I finished the class with a 100%. I got a 98% - 104% on every single test. I usually never do that good but the way she teaches, I had everything down. Don't use the textbook just print notes online and bring them in
She lectures fairly quickly, which will leave you having to really learn the material on your own when you do the hw. She doesn't grade any homework, but you need to do it to understand. She is VERY helpful and thorough if you go to office hours. Overall, I'm happy I took her for calculus 1. It's a really hard class, so be prepared to study!
I'm a straight As student in high school but I find she explains concept pretty quickly. But I can tell that she is really care for her students thru her eyes when I go to her office hr. Calculus itself is hard, but she is always there if you needed help. I find calculus is pretty easy overall once I understand the concept. Make sure to do hws!!!
She goes through material very quickly but will further explain if needed. She really cares about her students when you talk to her. In class she really gets down to business and gets through stuff.
She's super awesome! I definitely would love to take her for calc 2 but she doesn't teach it. She does go through the material quickly but if you ask question she will slow down and explain it in a different way. Do her study guides and you will do fine on the test, do all the hw and never miss a class.
one of the best math teachers I have ever had. She pushes you to do well and makes you pay attention in class which is what I needed because I find it so easy to drift off. She gives you study guides that help a lot with exams and homework that does as well. She is also great at explaining things and will answer just about any questions w/ material
Seems tough at first, but she's a nice person and wants you to pass. Follow all her rules, be respectful. Print out your homework questions for her, it helps a lot.
Hidden made math really easy. Do your homework and study for the quizzes. Her study guides are useful and attend her tutoring. She may seem strict, but she is actually a great teacher. Always willing to help and go over what she did if you didn't understand. DO NOT MISS CLASS! Points for going to class every day is worth about as much as an EXAM!
Prof hidden is great. She provides lecture notes to help you follow along in class so you aren't spending the entire time writing down the problems. She is also very good at explaining concepts, and prepares you for exams with her study guide. As someone who is normally awful at math, she was the best choice as she really prepares you for exams.
Marty Hidden is a great professor. Very strict, but also very easy. Everything you need to succeed is in the syllabus. Show up to every class for the notes (otherwise you're screwed for the quizzes and tests). Definitely would take again
Great overall teacher, I dont think shes teaches higher math but if she did I would 100% take her again. No grey are in grading and she outlines the entire curriculum for each class. She seems firm but she is the ideal math teacher for me
She may have a good rating, but if you don't do the hw every single day, you are going to fail the class or get an average grade. Doesn't collect hw. 4 exams and 1 final. She provides study guides for every exam including the final. Recommend showing up to class every single day or you'll lose points. Overall, she's a hard grader and good luck.
