this is teacher is HORRIBLE! she doesnt explain very well and she is NOT helpful.those who wrote good comments about her were probably HER! dont take her.

moves Way TOO Fast.Doesnt stop 2 see if All her students understand.she does problems without explaining them fully.often students that asked questions were broke down with a "smart ass" answer that left the student dumbfounded.she often wondered why her class was so "quiet".

I only barely got a B in this class because I have had prior experience with intermediate algebra. She is not helpful at all. Take someone like Prof. Medin instead, you won't regret it.

i just remember she was very bad at explaining problems and how she got her answers. also wasnt organized. bad teacher in my opinion.

This Professor is the worse. She does not teach the class all she does is keep on hammering the students with problem after problem. Every class starts out with a pq which has a time limit on the night befores homework I do not understand why she expects students to study the section when she gives math xl home work every day. take someone else.

She clearly lets her past troubles with the world dictate how it is the class shall be taught. Put another way, she has it out for the world of people most would find non-ugly. So, in summary, she has it out for the vast majority. I'm sorry you had it rough growing up, but please don't take it out on me.

I love math but THIS? The worst class and teacher ever!!!!! Sure she knows her stuff but she sucks at teaching it! She doesn't engage the student nd goes thru the material very fast. She finds every possible way to take off points and every time hives us long tests with little time to finush. She even takes points off if u go to the restroom!

If I could rate this prof. a negative one, I would. She is terrible at teaching, she isn't clear and goes at a fast pace. She deducts points if your late or go to the RESTROOM. She gives way too much hw. She made us sign a contract not allowing us to complain to the math Dean, sealing our fate to fail! If you want to pass, swerve to another class!!

This is by far the worst math teacher ever!! To be honest she shouldn't teach at all. She finds any possible way to deduct pts. Exams are hard and you have 50 minutes to finish.Beware she makes you sign a contract not allowing you to complain to the math Dean. She will not hesitate to fail you. She enjoys taking points off quizzes and tests. AND SHE WILL NOT HELP YOU. My peers and I ALL had anxiety because her class is very overwhelming. She gives EXCESSIVE amounts of hw throughout the WEEK&WEEKEND. She knows her math and expects you to think just like her. she makes it very hard to pass even with a C.

Quizzes everyday, don't be surprised if 95% of the class fails. She will use words of encouragement like "try harder" even when you study 50 to 60 hours a week. You might as well compare her class to an online class. Everything, study plan, homework is on an online website. If you don't attend class your deducted pts. Was practically teachingmyself

I went into this class with hopes that I would pass it but that all changed when the first few weeks went by. She lectures are not very useful and she always gives out hand outs at every class that no one thought was useful. More than half of my class was failing, there was only 1 B. I had the worst experience with this teacher. She is no good.

Unclear about what she wants, daily quizzes (which wouldn't be an issue if there were retakes but there aren't). Lectures are either tedious if you follow them, or brain melting if you don't. Be prepared to teach yourself math, or have the tutors do it..

Seriously, do not take her class even if it's your only option. She gives a ridiculous amount of work with inadequate amounts of time to finish the assignments. This goes for exams and quizzes too. Gives a stack of handouts each class that are useless, then refuses to answer questions because it's "in the handout". Never again.

SOOOO much homework its honestly ridiculous. You literally have homework due every single class meeting, and it isn't a few problems, its more like a shiii ton. She's really good at explaining but if you suck at math like myself I suggest you don't take her, I ended up dropping her due to the amount of homework being overwhelming.

Skip her. Never take her. If you want to risk your grade be my guest. Almost 90% of the class have Ds or Fs just in the beginning of her class. Those who have As or Bs are fast learners or are verbal listeners. If your absent because unexpected life events she won't give a care in the world and simply say to leave much earlier.

AVOID AVOID AVOID. The lessons are like drinking from a fire house (so fast). Everyday New Quiz (PQ). HW online (MyMathLab) HW due everyday. Book Optional (not required). Few E.C. opportunities. 0 sympathy for personal life. Prepare to Teach yourself. Exams are ridiculous and you run out of time. The Teacher is nice and Knows her stuff.

Her teaching style is more technical. If you DON'T want to hear the technical and unnecessary notes that shouldn't concern for you and want it straight forward DON'T TAKE HER. Even if you are confident with your skills I recommend don't take her. Please look away, it will save you lots of stress and tears and money. She will even say it to you.

If you have taken this class before and maybe you want to retake it and receive a barely passing grades, you might consider taking her class. With all my respect to , she is not the best in teacher. She gives you each day two homeworks in MathXL, two or three quizzes, and a very little time for lecture. She is expecting to know everything.

NO, NO, NO, NO, DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT take her. She goes through the information too quick, does not stop for anyone, and expects you to know everything. DON'T take her, it will save you a lot of stress, and mostly your time.

I do not recommend taking her class at all! Seriously, save yourself if she is the only professor left with open spots in her class WAIT 'till the next semester to take Math with a different professor!! I am a hardworking student & I struggled within the second week of her class! She expects you to know everything & gives a ridiculous amount of hw!

This professor expects you to live, sleep and eat math. Her daily pop quizzes are not easy to understand and no matter what part of the section you studied, expect to see something else. All these quizzes are at the beginning of class too. So hope you we're at last lecture,

Do NOT take her. She makes you do a lot of work taking an online course and read about HOW to study instead of math. Doing the homework doesn't help since the questions she gives on the tests are VERY different. She deducts points for stepping outside of the class and is strict on attendance. There is a lot of extra credit, do it ALL to barely pass

ONE WORD: AVOID! She made me HATE math, which is something I've always liked. There's hw due every week (from 2+ lectures) on mymathlab, and a timed quiz every class. I was doing fine on both until we got our first exam. She purposely made it HARD and not material-based just to see we weren't cheating (her words). BIGGEST waste of time there is.

She seems more concerned in catching students cheating and making sure students are actively sitting in front of their computer during lecture than actually going thru lecture. It distracts me so much everytime she calls people to make sure they are there instead of simply going thru the lecture (we are adults, not kids)

DO NOT TAKE. There is a reason why her class is always the last one to fill. There is timed pop quizzes every hour, based on two hour lectures. 2+ hours of mymathlab homework, and speeds things over. The tests are super heavy and she gives only 30mn to 50. Even if you like math avoid this class. The professor makes things harder than they should.

Do yourself a favor and don't take this class. Her grading system is weird and makes no sense, 2 quizzes in the middle and one at the beginning of class on homework that u learned the day before. multiple exams. not worth risking your grade.

Do yourself a favor and do not take her class, period. Her grading is horrible, the exams are very long with a short amount of time, and you will receive quizzes everytime you go to class (some questions have nothing to do with the lecture of homework)

You can expect LOTS of PQs, and do NOT expect to recover if you miss a day of class. Once it's over, she will do NOTHING to make sure you get up to speed. You need a GC to do ANYTHING in her Stats class, and all the "option A/B" talk is worthless. If you aren't an A+ student, don't bother. This isn't a Review, this is a WARNING!! Stay Away!!!

I wish I had read the reviews before I wasted time attending this class. She has the strangest grading system, she keeps your grade secret from you on an Excel sheet. Why would you stress out your students like that? She seems like a nice enough lady, but her teaching style is all over the place. The quizzes are not useful for memory.

Professor Carey does an amazing job at lecturing, BUT GOD, these tests were completely miserable. She pretends as if everything is fine when she knows well she has failed all her students and will continue to fail every student. PLEASE for the love of god DO not put yourself through this misery, better off taking Calc at a different school!!!!!!!!!

Save yourself the stress, I dropped in time but simply by the first two weeks we already has quizzes every single day. She rushes through the lectures like crazy. Not enough practice in my opinion. I was not ready for such an unorganized math class because I am used to the opposite so if you need organization to function and succeed don't take.

She is a bundle of nervousness. She is the only math teacher that does not care if she fails all of her students. She pretends she is doing a great job. Everyday she gives us quiz. Do not take her class even if it is your last class. Take it with someone else that actually cares for her students. A bad teacher all around.

Very disorganized, does not care for grades

By far the hardest class I've had, assigns lots of homework barely related to the lectures + daily quizzes that are barely related to the homework, tests aren't related to the homework but to lectures which is ok. Very tough class that would for sure help you understand the course but impossible to get an A if taking it along two or more classes.

Taking theis class currently and there are quizes every day we meet and homeworks due on the days we dont the only saving grace is that if you pass with a 50% on the final she will make so you pass the class

She leaves excessive amount of homework and we have quizzes every class. I would not recommend.
