Online class. Group project EVERY week. Along with an individual assignment due every week. Everything is due Friday. Plus 15 hours of community service that needs to basically be completed in a month and a half. Class has no clear guidelines. Proctored online exams, you answer 1Q at a time and can't go back to a previous question once answered.
HORRIBLE. Take any class but hers. She's insane. The amount of work is insane. I am now insane from trying to pass this class.
In my entire UCF career, my single worst decision was taking this course with this professor. There is a ridiculous amount of assignments each week. The assignments themselves are long, tedious, and completely pointless. The teacher is EXTREMELY unorganized and the class has zero structure. DO NOT take this class.
I loved this class! Even though it was online the professor always responded quickly! The modules are fun and she's very responsive! She even called me several times so we could chat about assignments! The course was a service class and she required a letter of recommendation as proof of completion so now I have a great letter as well as an A!
I was worried about a 4 credit class but it wasn't bad. The "Lab" is virtual and you only have to do 10 experiments. Most took me less then 20 min! The rest of the class wasn't bad - 5 discussion posts and 3 exams. The exams were brutal - lots of brain stuff but there is heaps of extra credit!
I won a $400 scholarship!!! At first I wasn't feeling the whole service learning thing BUT I knocked out my 15 hours and she helped me apply for the showcase and Bam! I've never had a teacher help me win money!
I have NEVER had a class with this much work. The workload is easy but ridiculously over the top. Service learning projects WITH community service, discussions, assignments, it made me crazy trying to keep up, she doesn't even accept late work! DONT TAKE HER! you REALLY have to give up your life for an A. Oh, and everything is due weekends.
It seems like a crazy amount of work at first, but if you do it all in the beginning the last month of class will be easy! She wrote me after every assignment and project, sent me research articles of topics I might be interested in. Not your typical easy UCF online class, you can't quizlet your way through this one. Easy grading criteria!
Dr. H is by far the MOST DISORGANIZED professor I have ever had in my academic life. She may be funny with her memes but not even that can save her form not being able to run the class correct. Except to read a lot and do a lot of extra credit to make up for her lack of being ORGANIZED. NO NO NO!
Signed up for this class without reading the syllabus and I had no idea we had to volunteer for 15 hours... along with a digital story project, reflection paper, 3 tests, optional final, 5 discussions, 3 assignements... workload is a lot but its fairly easy, class requires lots of time. Just keep up with the assignments its not that bad.
Advanced research methods with Dr. Hubertz online is awesome. Grades on Research articles, group discussions, project discussions, apa modules, Research project, virtual poster board, and papers. 2-5 things due weekly. Great and prompt feedback from professor and TA. Project group work is challenging since you work with them remotely.
Advanced methods lab online was fantastic! She's funny, organized and quick to respond! I'd totally take another class with her if I wasn't graduating!
Advanced methods lab was great! Group work blows but she will even message missing group members!
4 credits in 6 weeks seemed crazy but the course is well laid out. Exams are tough but there's extra credit. I like that the discussions aren't the same as other classes. If take her agin.
Professor Hubertz sends emails basically every day to keep you up to date on assignments but this course requires tons of work! There are initial posts due every Wednesday. If you do not participate Wednesday you cannot complete the final post that is due that Friday. So basically 2 assignments due a week on top of online hw, 4 exams and 4 papers.
This professor honestly changed my life. I was so lost with my Psych major and had no idea what I was going to do with it. She helped me figure out what I need for grad school and then she made me her TA! Class seems overwhelming at first but it doesn't take long to get the hang of things. She actually cares about her students succeeding.
She droops lots of things so if you need to blow something off you're cool! So it's best 3/4 exams, best 4/6 discussions and lots of extra credit! And she was great with the hurricane!
*75 HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS* She's a nice person. HOWEVER she is extremely disorganized, and she'll use 50 words to say something that could be said in 5. Changed the syllabus three times, changed deadlines, formats, grading, announcements every day (sometimes multiple). I never studied for exams, aced every one. Didn't do chapter quizzes bad grade.
Honestly, I thought this would be an easy A, i was wrong. Tests are proctored, so no trying to use books. She is super nice and understanding but very disorganized. Kept changing things, extra credit was nice IF you could find the time to do it, not a good choice for those with jobs. I would never take a class done by her again.
The homework is easy. The group projects are even easier. I thought this class was going to be a breeze. Then theres no clear way of knowing what to study for the exams. Theres SO much information to obtain from the book I had no idea what to study. I would sugggest taking this class in a lecture hall instead of online.
This class is a lot of work but the teacher drops lowest grades in test, HW, papers and WEEKLY discussions. The only thing that sucks is that everything is due Friday nights. She offers extra credit. The finial is optional and there is not midterm. Your exams are 60% of your grade and I believe there are 4 papers. You will need the access code.
Although she gives an optional final exam, she never grades anything on time. My classmates and I currently have no idea where we stand in the class. She does a terrible job at explaining things and there is never a clear description of how to do an assignment/what to turn in. Frustrating beyond belief.
If you thought this was a "show up and pass class," you better move on. There are so many assignments due per week. You have to volunteer 15 hours, which isn't the hard part, but there are so many other things you have to do to get to that point. If you have the option to take another course, you should.
The work load isnt much, however the exams that you will have are mandatorily proctored. The exams are super difficult and you wont have much to make up your grades. Cause instructions are unclear and feels like a scavenger hunt. Also you have weekly group discussions, coglab, and research proposal all must be APA cited. This class sucks.
It's online so of course you have to read BUT I love that exams are only 60% of the grade! She is responds pretty fast. I also like the service part of the class.
I took this last semester and had to W and am retaking it. Last semester she made a ton of changes due to Irma but it wasn't enough because my family was really screwed from Irma. She was amazing! So I am retaking with her and I'd take another class with her after this!
Listen, she is a super sweet lady and I know she cares. But this class was miserable for me. Her online materials and instructions are all over the place, she is somehow so detailed that you get confused by it, and it feels so cluttered. I never knew exactly what I was doing. I've never had a class where I've felt so frustrated, and I'm easygoing.
So this is my first service learning class and I loved it! At first it seems like a lot but now it all makes sense! The exams are proctored but that's almost all online exams so no biggie. And she drops the lowest!
There were no quizzes, only 3 exams and a final. CogLab experiments were extremely easy and she gave us tons of extra credit. She dropped one exam/final grade so the exam was optional if you liked where you were at. The book was TERRIBLE and we suggested she find another book for Cog Psych. Yes, you do have to read and study to pass. Proctored exam
This class caused my anxiety to skyrocket. Used an ebook that you read and took quizzes on. Three proctored tests over sooooo many chapters. You can only answer one question at a time and are not allowed to go back. Optional proctored comprehensive final. She somehow gives you much information and it is so unorganized that you leave more confused!
Overall wasn't the worst experience, but still anxiety inducing. Book is very dry & heavy. Exams ask obscure questions making them difficult. Does offer extra credit which is tremendously helpful, be aware the extra credit while shown in points is converted to a percentage at the end. That being said they are easy. DO NOT TAKE IN 6WK SEMESTERS!!
Took this class summer B and it was intense. You have connect assignments, tests, and a research paper due. Every week she will give you the run down on what is due. The labs are you cooperating among a randomly assigned group to create a survey to use in your research paper (stress). She is very firm on assignment due dates. Be prepared to work.
Be ready to stress if you take this professor! Usually around 7 assignments due weekly, group research paper (annoying), and textbook work. If you're gonna take this, take it in the fall or spring! NOT A SUMMER CLASS!
Was not aware upon signing up that this class required volunteering so that was a surprise. The class is not that bad as long as you do not get behind in reading. The exams can be tough because you have no idea of what info to zone in on and it is usually on like 4-5 chapters. She's very wordy though and it can be confusing.
This course is awful online. Misunderstand one part of a homework and get 0 credit. Doesn't know how to make an appointment with students for online course, had a phone conversation instead which was useless. Extremely unorganized with how everything is set up.
I love this professor and this class. My only complaint was that the tests were never like the learnsmart questions, quizlets, OR study guides AT ALL. Still managed a B in this class and she does offer plenty of extra credit and is a fair grader. The material isn't particularly hard but focus on concepts more than anything.
You have to follow your syllabus and do your work, but she offers extra support material and is available when needed. She sends out reminders a couple of times of week (funny and informative) to help keep you on track in class. Lots of reading (this is colllege!), but very straightforward.
Love her and will be a TA for one of her sections in the spring! Only con is there's quite a bit of homework but its not hard. 5 discussions but drops one. 4 essays but drops one as well. Everything has clear instructions on what she expects of you. Super solid choice for this amazing course.
Shes a descent professor. She definitely makes you get involved, not with just classmates but with random people in your community or local areas. Some ways of participation alone gave me anxiety and her grading system is tough. Im an A average student and even this class was a bit much mentally, it can also be a little overwhelming.
If you like your GPA, stay away from this class! especially online. Half the class is failing & I'm sure they're going to drop by the deadline. It's a shame really, I thought this class was going to be interesting, but she literally sucked the fun out of it and focuses primarily on giving us busy work... enter if you dare, you have been warned!!!
Prepare to memorize EVERYTHING that is on each chapter, because the test questions are so random . I never expected an online class to be easy, but unless your skilled in memorization of an entire book, don't even bother with this professor.
Test are very hard and proctored online. The teacher makes the content very interesting but you really have to work to get a good grade in this class.
It's a +/- class, few tests, but they're worth a lot of weight. The test questions are very specific, and they're over at least 4 chapters at a time. She gives a lot of extra credit, but it's not worth that much in the end unfortunately. She's really nice, but if there's an easier professor available, take them instead.
Definitely one of my favorite professors. She really cares and whats people to learn and pass her class. The material is not easy but she tries to explain it the best she can and really helps.
There were too many assignments and too much additional information. There were no study guides for quizzes or exams. There was an e-book, the reading of which was made very difficult because of constant pop-up suggestions. The professor was very disorganized. Extra credit did not help at all and counted as 2% out of 100, which is insignificant.
DISORGANIZED is the only word that best describes her. The class is a complete travesty. She honestly deserves to be fired. She refuses to give out rubrics and grades harder than you would ever believe with barely any directions. This woman should be avoided at all costs.
I do not recommend taking any course by Dr. Hubertz. The course is very disorganized. The instructions for assignments is unclear. There's a lot of group work camouflaged as labs. There are a lot of clarification emails that will go out in addition to the announcements because people are constantly confused. The TAs run the course more than Hubertz
She's such a cool professor. Ive taken her for other courses because I specifically like her. Her style is unique so once you get the hang of it, its super easy.
I took this despite some of the bad reviews.. huge mistake. On ALL of the exams over 60% of the class failed (she tells you via email) Exams make up 60% of grade, I had a D most of the semester. Gives too much info that is pointless. Extra credit is so time consuming it's ridiculous. Don't take this class if it's not required! Save you the tears!
Save yourself the stress, do NOT take her class! So disorganized, busy work heavy, and it's impossible to get a good grade on the test because her questions are completely random and extremely specific from multiple chapters. The majority of the entire class failed every test (she told us). She absolutely ruined a seemingly interesting class.
Ignore all of these reviews. Dr. Hubertz is the most caring professor I have had. Not only does she want her students to do well but she also wants them to succeed in life. She has a lot of modules that list resources for struggling students. Her announcements are helpful and make it easier to know what to do. Lots of extra credit.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR IF YOU DO NOT HAVE TO. I will never forget how on the first day I was trying to look over everything I had to do to prepare myself and I WAS SO LOST. Her class is completely disorganized and she is so specific in her instructions that its makes its even MORE confusing. Her tests are textbook questions and very specific.
She makes you read the chapters for each chapter, her test is based on the textbook and doesn't provide any notes
I wouldn't recommend taking her even if she's your only choice. Lots of busywork that really don't correlate with what you're learning for the week. She accepts the best 3 exams out of 4 however her test is 60% your grade, soooo if you fail one you're basically done, dude. Just don't take her, her class was a living hell and made me cry a lot.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSORS CLASSES. Its an online class but you have to go to a work shop on one specific weekend and if you can't go you fail the class and have to withdraw, which is absurd! Also her exams are online but she uses PROCTORHUB !!!! which my other professors have called creepy. Don't waste your time or money.
The class is an enormous waste of time. Countless + excessive amounts of work that feel unimportant and are unnecessarily time consuming. All chapters of the book are the same thing just restated over and over again and not interesting at all. This is not a psych of women class, it's a sjw gender studies. Professor can't spell correctly either...
Professor Hubertz had funny announcements 3 times a week to let students know what was due. She opened up most of the course early so it was easy to get ahead. She provided plenty of extra information for grad school, certification, and minors. She also gave more information for each chapter. Only downside is chapters through Connect are LONG
Discussions require a lot of participation and there are three mandatory papers that are graded with leniency (only two pages long). You will learn a lot from this class. Plan to read the textbook, there's practice material after each chapter that will prepare you for the tests. There are also plenty of chances for extra credit!
I don't understand all the negative reviews on here. She was the most understanding and caring professors I've ever had. She offers surveys throughout the semester and changes the course based on student feedback. Proctorhub used, but after the first exam, she let us use handwritten notes on the rest of exams. Tons of extra credit opportunities.
I took other classes with her and had to withdrawal to due to load of homework. However this class was much different. the assignments were very easy however there were alot of them, a few essays but they took max 45mins to complete. shes grades easy and sends plenty of announcements. her exams were a little difficult but i managed to get a 88.
Take her class get ready to read a lot. She requires you to read her ch. cause she uses acrobatic and end of each ch. there is a quiz. Do all extra credits cause they will help in the end to improve your grade. This is a Service learning class so you have to do volunteer hours. 3 exams, were difficult for me and take up 60% of your grade.
The professor is great, I don't recommend taking this class online. To much information to grasp within a week. Test are worth 60% of your grade. The test were really hard to me. Focus on the studies within the book. The professor sends reminders 3 times a week and gives a boat load of extra information for you to use. A lot of grades are dropped.
Different kind of online course with quite a lot of work, group discussions, online homework and quizzes on separate site, exams and essays. But luckily she drops lowest essay and discussion grades. Very heavy grading weight on the four tests. Luckily the final exam is also optional/replaces lowest exam grade. She helped answer my questions fast!
I don't recommend any of her classes by any means. This class has many assignments that are worth close to nothing. 3 exams make up the bulk of your grade. If you hate discussions, you will hate her class. The TAs grade very hard and could care less about you. This is the only B I ever received while I was a student at UCF.
The class is basically run by TAs for starters and all she does is send out announcements. You have to read each chapter and do a post chapter quiz, but the questions on the exam are nothing like what is on the quizzes. Extra credit is not worth it because they are wonky assignments that she wants you to go out and interact with strangers with.
This was a really good class with tons of extra credit opportunities offered this semester. Exams were not very difficult if you read the book and if you used the notes that you were allowed. Discussions are an easy A provided you actually put in the work. She responds to emails and questions super quickly. Really happy with this class.
I would not recommend this professor. She takes so long to answer emails and usually answers them after the assignments/test are due so you got to figure many things out by yourself. Instructions are not clear so you have to "wing it" because it could take days by the time you get a response.
Dr. Hubertz is a great lady but not so great professor. The class seemed a bit overwhelming at first and disorganized. She takes a day or two to email back and with those emails are honestly blunt and unhelpful responses. It's A LOT of reading and majority are struggling. We don't know how to really prepare for these tests so we get low scores.
Dr. Hubertz is such a kind woman, it's obvious she cares about her students. She sends updates throughout the week and offers some extra credit (definitely do it). BUT I and the majority of my classmates found her class to be challenging. Her quizzes cover A LOT of information. Textbook is required but I found her lectures to be the most helpful.
Dr. H is an extremely caring professor, but her class was VERY difficult. She makes it clear that the exams are the most important thing, but wants YOU to know what you have to know. Honestly, half the time I felt like I didn't even know where she got the exam questions. Essays and discussions were easy, but the exams will kill your grade.
Dr. Hubertz seems like a cool lady. She provided weekly reminders and some EC, so she definitely cares. However, I wouldn't say she was a great professor. Her lectures are fun to listen to, but they aren't very helpful for the class itself. The tests are super information-packed (50 questions usually), so it takes a lot to study for them.
The class itself was difficult, so its something you'll definitely need to study for. But, she sets it up in a way to help you succeed. She gives extra credit throughout the semester and it helps with your grade a lot. She also likes to interact with her students and has a sense of humor when it comes to her lectures.
She organized her course well. I don't think she assignments a lot of work there's 3 exams, and an optional final, a discussion due every 2 weeks, and then 4 essay, but dont let the essays scare you it's very easy. The exams are proctored, but she allowed us to use a paper for notes. ALOT OF EXTRA CREDIT
Emails back right away! Over half the class ended with an A or B!
Lets you use notes on quizzes!!! Has really active UTAs and heaps of info! Most of the class did well with an A or B on everything!
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TEACHER AT ALL. The tests are graded heavily 60% of your grade. You need a webcam to take the Exams, with no study guide. There's Extra credit but she grades so heavily on them as if she doesn't want you to get it. She's a nice lady but its like she think that we are non working students who are only taking her class.
Dr. H is cool and helpful. only 3 tests can use limited notes but usually doesn help because questions are so specific and there are 70 mins for 67 questions (talk ab overwhelming) Discussions are very easy grades but always awk responding to people. Better than writing papers tho, A lot of ex-credit offered, but if someone else is ava I would run.
Course content was interesting which made the class more enjoyable. Professor Hubertz is very kind and enthusiastic about what she does. Assignments are pretty easy, allowed page of handwritten notes on test.
Loved this class! Super interactive and she does great announcements. Keeps best 6/8 quizzes and drops a dos is soon score as well! I asked for the quiz to open early and she opened it early!
Shes ok, she gives a lot of extra Credit .. what put me off the most was that she goes back on her word.. she told me she would dropped an assignment if I did another one then decided to take back her word last minute. Soo Idk she cool or whatever but dont trust her if she says she will do something.
Most of the class had an A or B at the end. She is memetastic!
Prof Hubertz was very kind when responding to emails. However, this class is very textbook oriented. The tests are closed note and can be very difficult as you have to remember every little thing from the textbook. This class is challenging, but extra credit is offered. Overall challenging, but not impossible.
Loved this class. Lots of extra credit and she dropped a bunch of grades. Open notes tests and she let us have two attempts on exams 2 & 3.
I do not recommend this prof at all. She is very unhelpful, responds to emails three days later, and her tests are very difficult for a GEP credit course. Over half of the class is doing poorly and she has no regard for students taking other classes. Quizzes are 60% of final grade and they're near impossible due to how specific they are. 0/5.
The tests are weighted heavily and pretty difficult. She gives a lot of extra credit but I will warn you if you fail the exams, the extra credits will not help.
I will never take a class with this professor again. The amount of work she gives is unrealistic. Be ready to study your ass off because its a lot. She assigns so much work its as if she doesnt expect you to take any other classes but hers.
Not a hard course but I wouldn't take it again. It was boring. Professor has a nice personality. Liked her more than the content.
She doesn't make it easy with the workload, but she doesn't make it so you don't get a C. Make sure you do well on discussions, homework, and do the extra if you need it. The test can be heavy, read the book and do all the practice quizzes.
Professor Hubertz is one of the best so if you get to take her course you're lucky! The coursework is reasonable with LOTS of extra credit. Lots of reading but its light material and easy to comprehend. Weekly hw but easy assignments. Her weekly updates keep you informed. She offers lots of helpful resources. Enroll in her class now!
No words. Just dont take her.
So, I see a lot of bad reviews about the professor but honestly, she's not bad. There's a lot of extra credit so honestly, if you fail, it's your fault. She gives lectures every 2 weeks but they're more centered on-campus life, and how you can build your resume, really useful. Discussions yes, quizzes (6 of them) yes, HW yes, reading yes.
The worst teacher I have ever taken. The TA's would grade our discussions and would mark points off without telling why, the teacher refused to teach saying they didn't want answers online for the people next semester, the 2 chapters worth of tests and notes I had to complete were ridiculous. The test questions were unnecessarily specific.
Tests were waived heavily and a large portion of the grade (60%). Refused to review exams due to fear of answers ending up on quizlet. Gives extra credit opportunities and grades exams on a curve. Youre able to pass, just be ready to work for it.
I made the mistake to take 2 classes with her this semester and it was truly awful. The worst part is how difficult all her tests are, she does not give you a good tactic to study for her tests and with the large amounts of information she puts out there is no way you can even figure out what might be on the test or not. Almost everyone was failing
The tests are literally so hard. There are so many readings that you're never sure what information will show up on the exams. I've studied so much for this class and only gotten bad grades on exams. She's a very nice woman, lots of announcements throughout the week to make sure you get things done on time - the tests are just wayyyy too hard.
Pros: Up to 2 points of extra credit for the final grade, lots of reminders about assignments/exams, u can use 2 pages of notes for exams, optional final exam, 2 attempts/exam. Cons: Assigns SO much reading (4-5 chapters=over 100 pages of material for each exam), no way to study/know what'll be on exams, no reviewing old exams, 60% of grade=exam
Pretty decent professor. There's a lot of negative reviews and some are justified but overall a decent professor. My only dislike of the class was the quizzes that were worth 60% of my grade. Luckily, she offers a considerable amount of extra credit and drops the two lowest quizzes. Discussions were easy as was homework. Quizzes are the hard thing.
You need to purchase the online textbook/software to complete readings assignments & quizzes. 3 exams & 1 optional cumulative exam that all use Proctor Hub; 2-3 attempts each but they have different questions & there is no review. Exams are curved. All assignments due on exam days. 4-5 Discussion posts w/ responses & drops lowest.
I've taken this professor twice and it was not willingly. The exams are very difficult and for no reason. The homework and exams don't match its as if you're studying for two different classes. And the professor takes a really long time to respond. Also, there's A LOT of homework. She made me hate social psychology
Amazing class! Most of the class got an A. Exams were open all summer and and you could use notes and had two attempts. It was that and discussion posts. Easy A.
I love Huebertz as a professor because you need to earn your A in her class and feel so accomplished when you're able to do that. She gives lots of extra credit and you can take the exams twice with notes. As long as you put in the work, you'll get an A in this class!
Easy A! Good info and lots of extra credit. The modules had cool stuff. Most of the class got an A
This professor is awful. I will give it to her, she is a nice person. But the whole course is based on an awfully-written, long textbook. She provides module information but it is not sufficient for the exam. Exams are OVERTLY specific, using direct sentences from 1 of the 4 chapters we are expected to read. Do not take this class.
I was skeptical because she has mixed ratings but I loved this professor. She was very clear with everything and gave ample amount of time to get it all done, she has tons of extra credit but if you work it's harder for you to do it as it normally takes place Tuesdays at noon. She's very understanding i enjoyed this class.
This professor/course is not as bad as people are deeming it to be. Yes, there are a lot of assignments but they are fairly easy and do not take much time. Allowed to use notes on tests (proctored) + she offers optional makeup tests at the end of the semester. SO MUCH EXTRA CREDIT. Discussions are simple once you get the hang of it. drops 2 quizzes
This semester involved a lot of technical issues that Dr. Hubertz did her best to accommodate to fairly. E-book homework and quizzes, discussion posts (1 week for initial post, 1 week for responses; lowest dropped), proctored exams (lowest dropped), lots of extra credit opportunities. Definitely not a no-brainer class, but clear expectations.
I took this class online and I would say she's an all around good teacher. There is a chapter test every other week, its proctored. There is a discussion debate one week and then the next week you would respond to everyone else. And she also uses McGraw connect for other assignments. She wants you to succeed and also offers extra credit.
Hubertz is the best professor I've ever had in my 4 years at UCF. I saw her getting negative reviews for how many announcements she sends out, but all of them were super helpful and encouraging regarding the class and life in general. There is a lot of work, but she drops the lowest grades and is very clear about all assignments. Love her!
Gives so much information not related to course but social life. Always needs to be validated for her choices in every module. Lots of extra credit opportunity if you don't have a job. Homework takes couple of hours to finish. one week only one assignment, next week like 6 assignments all due friday. Constant emails; very annoying.
She assigns so much reading and so many quizzes without ample time to complete them. She offers extra credit zooms but they are always on the same day at the same time so if you have work or another class during that time you're kind of screwed. The quizzes are excessively hard for no reason.
Just save yourself the time and don't take this class. Exams (which require Honorlock btw) and all homework assignments are off a convoluted, tedious, hard to read textbook. All you do is read. Exam questions are sometimes too specific. Generally one of my least favorite online classes I have taken.
I would avoid taking this prof She makes the class harder than what it should be. The exams doesn't match what we learned from the textbooks or hw quizzes. Be aware exams are 60% of your grade and there's 3. Even though theres extra credit its not accommodating towards working students and doesn't help at all if you fail her exams.
Professor Hubertz is a good teacher but her tests are on Honorlock and extremely hard. She gives really tedious assignments but the lessons are engaging and interesting! Her tests are open book so just take your time doing the assignments, take notes, and you should pass no problem!
Professor Hubertz was test-heavy. The course was loaded with online connect assignments that were extremely time-consuming, so ensure you set aside enough time. Tests were closed-book, but open-note (only 1 side per chapter), as well as proctored. Course was taken during the summer but needed to read the entire textbook in less than 6 weeks.
Hubertz is very sweet and accommodating. She offers tons of extra credit opportunities. Exams are slightly difficult because they are very specific, but she allows two pages of handwritten notes to use and two attempts. Overall I recommend her.
Professor Hubertz is an amazing professor who truly cares about her students!! She offers a looot of opportunities for extra credit, so the class is in a way easy to pass. There are quizzes every other week that rely on the textbook! It's a lot of reading and studying, but overall manageable if you have good time management skills.
Unnecessary things are being graded, course is extremely test-heavy. The homework/learning curves given before the test don't outline what it contains which makes them virtually useless, as well as how tough she grades the discussion posts. YellowDig is also a grading component of this class, which was very annoying and tedious to keep up with.
This class had a lot of work in the text book and 4 discussions, yellowdig, and many tests that counted for 60% of the total grade. I also had trouble with getting a response from the TA about my discussion grades. But she has a lot of extra credit that helps and is always enthusiastic in her emails and responses.
Dr. Martha Hubbertz is an extraordinary professor. From the outset, it was evident that she brings a rich reservoir of information to each lecture, which she delivers with a clarity and passion that is both inspiring and engaging. Interaction in her classes goes beyond the traditional lecture format.
Well I just about had an aneurysm trying to read the syllabus... this class seems extremely disorganized with a hefty load of busy work to boot. You have multiple discussions and homework assignments EVERY WEEK, not to mention 15 HOURS of community service?? I work full-time and need my online classes to work with my schedule. Dropped immediately.
She actually cares about her students. Lots of announcements, emails, etc. about extra credit and career/experience opportunities. You have to post weekly on something called Yellowdig. Weekly chapters, Connect assignments, quizzes. Discussion assignments are well-paced. Allows some handwritten notes for exams. Taken in Fall 2023.
I've taken 4 of her classes now! Amazing prof. It is a bit work-heavy (due W/test) but I have gotten an A each time. Disposts, yellowdig, quiz, assigns. Can use Quizlet to study. Extra credit zooms10 pts each+random others. It is a little work-heavy as she used mcgrawhill and now uses acrobatiques. Takes student suggestions. Proct w/open note+2trys
Amazing prof, shes the best. Lots of work but easy A. Disposts, connect, yellowdig - due w/Test- are proctored, 2 attempts, but two pages of notes. She tends to curve the grade. One of the best profs, and she takes what we say and changes it next semester. You can use online help. Lots of extracredit. Can be overwhelming w/other classes tho. 10/10
I love Dr. Hubertz and have taken two classes with her. Even though it's an online course she still keeps you so engaged. You do have to do a service learning project for this class which is volunteering and writing a paper/doing doing a powerpoint. All tests are proctored btw. I recommend her to everyone who asks tho
I took Professor Hubertz for Forensic Psych online course, and she was fantastic! Probably one of the best professors I have had at UCF. She was so caring for her students and offered tons of help and the most extra credit I have ever seen a professor give out. It is a little bit of work every week, but she makes this class worth taking.
By far my favorite professor I've ever had, especially in an online class! I really enjoyed how involved she was in the course by engaging frequently. She offers lots of extra-credit opportunities as well. Grade is mostly exam scores but she will drop your lowest exam score. Her class takes work and effort, but you will be engaged and learn a lot!
Super sweet lady, relatively easy class but A LOT OF BUSY WORK
Professor Hubertz's class has a bit of a workload, but the lectures and materials are helpful. Using Unstuckstudy and Quizlet made studying more efficient. Exams are challenging but doable with open-note prep.
Requires 15 hrs of SL. The prof is very fair & gives lots of excr opportunities. Exams are HL & you have 2 attempts with 2 pgs notes. You can work ahead & finish early. Her com comes off initially a bit too much, but it's not all critical. There is a lot of reading. I enjoyed the class and learned a lot. I would take this professor again.
One of the worst professors I've had, way too many weekly assignments that are not worth many points. Mandatory reading of the textbook, all questions in the chapters are graded plus chapter quizzes. Exams are on lockdown browser with screen recording. The content is easy but the assignments are lengthy. Avoid taking her classes!
Content-heavy/LOTS of extra credit. Offers alternate extra credit assignments if you can't attend the "extra-credit zoom meetings." 4 discussion posts(best 3/4), 13 different chp readings with questions, 13 chp quizzes, YellowDig participation (similar to Facebook), allows 2 pages of handwritten notes on 4 exams(Best 3/4).Optional 200pt Final exam
4 exams including final, final is optional, all are proctored. 67 questions in 70 minutes. 2 pages of hand written notes (not typed) front and back are allowed for each exam. Uses McGraw Hill which is free. 9 labs which isn't hard just time consuming. Has powerpoints but most of the reading will be from McGraw Hill.
Her classes are a lot. Weekly chapter readings, Yellowdig, discussions/debates. She keeps best 3/4 exams and discussions. Lots of extra credit. This is a service learning sanctioned class, so 15 hours community service at a nonprofit involving people. We do a Sway presentation on the service but I wish she'd just use PowerPoint. Taken Fall 2024.
not a bad professor, but she was cringe. she tried to relate to gen-z way too much and honestly it was sometimes annoying lol--and I'm gen z. service learning project is required with essay paper, a pointless Microsoft sway & linkedin learning with a presentation. she tried to say my SL was not valid until I checked her on it, & she fixed it.
Lots of assignments that are for a grade. The textbook chapters are so long. So many announcements. The professor is nice but tries to relate to her students a bit too much. If you have to take this class, try to get ahead in the beginning so it's not so overwhelming. Oh and she also uses lockdown browser for every exam.
Professor was ok but tried very hard to be "hip" was not enjoyable I wish it would be less of that and more working on a study guide for the exams that were very broad and not explained well, there were no helpful guides on what to study for the exams. The class setup was extremely disorganized, I was very confused for the most part of the class.
Class consists of a mandatory SL project, easy if you stay on track. 4 discussions & 4 proctored exams w/ notes; she keeps best 3/4 drops the lowest grade. Yellowdig & chapter questions w/ the readings. Tons of extra credit opportunity. Class structure is a bit messy but overall simple & straightforward. Prof was nice&caring. Highly recommend her!
Her idea of fairness is no help any anyone at all or allows any chances for mistakes. Three 67-question exams in 70 minutes, worth 60% of the grade. If you fail them, you fail the class. She offers a lot of extra credit, but it's only worth 2%. It's the hardest class I've taken in 4 years, with zero flexibility and too much pressure.
Uses lockdown browser, uses a lot of different assignments to make up your grade each week which result in a ton of coursework, is overall a nice professor, and the textbook chapters are very dense.
she really cares about her students and material. the class is incrediby overwhelming and so much material. at some points she was doing an announcement a day with paragraphs of reading in them. everything has emojis and slang which i understand is meant to be engaging but i just found to be too much and confusing when you are just looking for info
I would not recommend this class to anyone. The professor is very overstimulating, and when you ask her to simplify, she says, "Sorry, that's how I do things." She does not give study guides, and there is A LOT of reading. If you like things straightforward and clear, do not take this teacher.
Tests were impossible to pass. Extra credit was also given but brought down grade instead of helped it or made grade stay the same which was a waste of time.
