Had for the lab portion of Environ. Bio...she was wonderful! Didn't learn a thing in the class portion with another professor, but got much out of her labs & field trips!

Great Teacher! I hated biology in highschool but she really made me enjoy it in college. I would take her if you don't understand biology cause she will explain it well. If you take her for lab too you will really get a great understanding. Great Teacher!

Wonderful teacher. Though it was sometimes hard to stay awake during class she covered the material well and if you showed up to both the labs and class you can gain extra points. She likes to use all of the class time so don't expect to leave early.

Was a very understand professor and a great professor at that. I learned more in that class then in BIOL 150 here anyways. I would recommend her if you would need to take her for a class.

she is very nice lady. she will give you whatever help that you need. i would take her again. i got a C, but definetly could have done better if i would have studied more. tests are a little hard.

Martha Jack is a riot. She's a great teacher and wears the best outfits. She's truly the champ when she wears her gold belt! If you want to learn bio and pass, take her.

One of the most boring professors I have this year. It is a struggle to stay awake in class but if you manga to pick up most of the information and read the chapters you might get a b on her tests because they are difficult and detailed

This woman is more boring than staring at a rock all day. Her tests and quizes are hard. I know the material like the back of my hand but I miss stuff because of how she words the questions. I don't recommend her. I've had far better professors.

Jack is a very helpful friendly professor. I would greatly recomend her for this class again and i plan on taking BIO 104 with her too. I would recommend going to class and reading assigned material always.

I think she is a great teacher. She goes slowly so its easy to understand. She is easy to talk to, so dont worry about asking questions because she always is happy to answer them. Keep up with your studying you have a lot of quizes but it helps you in the long run with the exams.

She is a wonderful professor. She always helps when you need it. She gives study guides. The tests are based directly from the lectures. As long as you take good notes and study them, you'll get an A. There are no surprises. She is very nice.

hard yes but she is so willing to explain info if approach her based on your confusion- When I read text I did so much better- other reviews focus on just note taking in class- what do they think text is for- I found her very nice and fair

Very smart teacher! She is a hard teacher...but I loved her. You have to keep up with her class and the material, but she is easily approachable about anything! Ask questions and she has all of the answers. I would recommend taking her for any class :)

No surprises. The most important thing you can do is study the chapter outlines: almost everything from them is on the tests. None of the tests are cummulative. She has a lot of annoying habits, esp. talking down to you as if you were in 3rd grade. Just listen and take notes in clase and STUDY THE CH OUTLINES.

Study your ass off! Go to every lab and every lecture! Drink lots of coffee! Complete all the outlines and know them 100%! And I wish you luck to even pass her class!

I have had her for the past 2 semesters. She is a tough professor, but I have learned a lot from her. Be there for class, once you miss one class your behind so much, and study as hard as you ever have. I have had a B in her class both semesters and im not that good of a student

I hate bio with a passion but I can at least tolerate with Jack as a prof. She does a lot of examples of things to help you grasp concepts however she did bring in 2 dead squirells during the second week of class. I'm taking her again next semester for 104 and for lab.

Prof. Jack is one of the best Bio prof's I've had. She really know's her stuff and encourages everyone to ask a question if they are confused. She is full of help and suggestions/examples to help you fully grasp a concept. The book is unnecessary! Her outlines for each chapter are also helpful! Tests are moderate to hard, so study!

she is weird and has an example that has nothing to do with anything for everything she teaches. any bio class you take is going to take up alot of your time and effort. jack just does things that give you a little more to laugh about and make fun of in that time. study your ### off and do the outlines though and you will fine.

Jack is a very good prof but the class itself kind of sucks. Missing class at all can seriously mess up your grade because of the amount of information covered and worksheets. And you have to dedicate a lot of time to studying for the exams or they'll kick your a$$.

She is a good teacher. but...she thinks Cell Bio is the onyl class you have. the tests are not impossible but you do need to study ALL THE TIME to get a "C" or cheat

She is so devoted to her classes. She knows her stuff and she expects you to know the info well. This class was really hard, but it was very interesting! If you plan on getting a good grade,have time to read A LOT and DO THE OUTLINES! She will help any student that asks.

She is very devoted to her class and as long as you read the section you're covering in lecture beforehand, you should be just fine. Just read and take notes and you'll be ok. Take the best notes you can in class because a lot...A LOT of what she covers in class will def. be on the test.

She is a very good teacher but the tests are extremely difficult. You must attend every lecture to have a decent understanding of the material and study pretty much every night to get atleast a B.

This class was easy. As long as you go to class and keep up with the outlines, you'll do just fine. She will answer any questions you have and doesn't rush through any of the material.

She is a GREAT professor. If you ever need help she is more thn happy to make sure you understand. Alos, she doesn't go through material fast just to get it done. She does not require you go to class but it helps with the tests. She gives out worksheets in class too that really help to raise grades. I would recomend her to anyone...she is amazing.

A lot of students may complain about Jack but if you just go to class, do the worksheets and study the outlines you'll be fine. It's not an easy class but if you actually try there's not reason you cant get an A

She's an excellent teacher. Attendance is not mandatory, but I wouldnt miss any classes since all the test material is on what she covers during lecture. Her tests can be hard. If you go to every class, and take really good notes & actually look over them outside of class once in a while, you'll be ok.

I had her for lab and I really liked her. During a few classes we went out in a field and caught grasshoppers. I really liked her as a lab prof so definitally take her for lab She knows what she's talking about so just listen to her and always ask questions because what you ask is usually on the daily quizes. She's extremely nice

She is an excellent professor. I had her for lecture. She is stern, but fair. The tests are easy if you got to class, but she doesn't take attendence. You can tell she really enjoys her job. She gives lots of examples and has class discussions. She also goes over things repeatedly to make sure everyone understands before she moves on.

Mrs. Jack is by far the best Bio teacher i have ever had. She puts the students' understanding before the curriculum. She will spend more time on subjects that students are having trouble with. I would take every bio class from this teacher but sadly she doesn't teach all of them. Shes great!!!

Great teacher, and very passionate about what she does. She provides examples for nearly everything she covers, and is willing to help whenever possible. I highly recommend her.

Really good with lecture but tough in her expectations for you in an intro-level course. I would recommend her over some of the other Bio prof's though.

Professor Jack is great and she really cares about her students. She puts a lot of effort into her lectures and you NEED to take notes. Most of her exam questions come directly from her notes and handouts. If you attend regularly and you take good notes you will be fine. Read the textbook.

She really cares about her students and the future of her students. She's very helpful. If you take notes, attend class, and give 100%you will get an A or a B. One of the best teachers I've ever had. I wish I could have a teacher like her for every class.

Show up to class and you are golden. Lectures help a ton, you just need to be sure to study and review and you will do fine. Lets you dropp lowest quiz grade.

The best teacher I've had at IUP!She challenges you to do your best.if you follow along, take notes & do the outlines she gives you for the tests,you will be fine.You must study for the tests,& you should go to class so you don't miss the worksheets that factor into your grade and her notes.The nicest prof who will bend over backwards to help.

AWESOME instructor. You must go to class for notes and explanations..she explains everything so clearly if you pay attention. She will answer any question you have in class or during office hours. Take advantage of her knowledge...you will come out of her class feeling like a biology king...or queen :)

I wish I could take her for 104. She's a good teacher and is passionate about what she does. Once you get use to her teaching style, it gets easier. If you study, you'll do well.

I've had her for 103, 104, and 105. She is an amazing professor. She actually cares about her students and she explains things very well. She posts study guides on the P drive with all of the material you need to know for the exam. I'm not a bio major or minor, I just thoroughly enjoy her classes. Take her for every class you can!!!

If you studied in general bio this class is easy, just an overview of what you should already know. The professor is very happy to answer any questions and her exams are pretty fair. She writes chapter outlines, which are very helpful as well.

I didn't think I'd like the class, and I thought it would be too hard to learn Biology, but she made it easy to understand, and she helped me when I needed it.

I had Mrs. Jack a few years ago, during freshman year. People told me to be scared and I don't understand why. AWESOME teacher. I'm not usually a very scientific person, but she helped us understand concepts by using real life examples. Trips to the field were fun! Tests are hard, but not if you go to class, take notes on what she says, and read!

Shes very boring to me takes forever to get started. She will post chapter outlines; print them out, following along in lecture and use it as your note sheet. She does a lot a 6point worksheets (very easy, you can use your note for answers) and she will drop you lowest score. The exams are easyISH, study the outlines, you'll do just fine.

I had her as a freshman and she's nothing to be scared of. She can talk kind of fast and you only get graded on tests and quizzes, but I only opened my book maybe twice and I got an A on every test and quiz. All you have to do is go to her class and pay attention. Also, she's more than willing to help if you need it.

She is really nice and knows her stuff but the class is very hard. She is better than the other cell bio teacher but she expects you to know everything and her tests are hard. Make sure to pay attention because she doesn't give you a good outline for notes. Her hint for test: "know the material" well, obviously!

God bless this woman, best prof on campus. She explains everything thoroughly & well. Her tests make you THINK, they're not easy, but they're manageable.

I don't know why people are complaining about her. She's an awesome professor and has complete interest in her students well being. If you don't put the time in for the class of course she's gonna not respect you.. I highly recommend this professor

Martha is a very smart lady with humor and examples that are easy to pertain to. Read the book, go to SI and you're guaranteed to pass. She cares about her students: extending office hours around big exams, learning all 200+ students' names. Don't say she's a bad teacher because you think the subject is hard, that's not fair! I'd take her again!!

Martha is a wonderful lady! She is very helpful and returns quizzes and exams immediately! She learns all 200+ students' names! She does not provide PowerPoint or notes online so going to her lectures are the key to passing. If you go to lecture and skim the book. You have to read the chapters, you're in college what do you expect?

Mrs. Jack was a great professor. You will have to work, but overall, she is very friendly and is willing to help you outside of class if need be. She gets to know every single student in the class, even though lectures in the sciences tend to be large, speaking to her efforts in teaching. I highly recommend Mrs. for any class, she is great.
