Her poetry class was fun and enlightening. If you are interested in creative writing like poetry, she is fun to take from becuase she does not censor you subjects, and she lets you explore your own creativity. Also, she is not a strict grader, just do as well as you can and youll do well. After taking her poetry class, ive decided to take her again

Love Professor Silano, her feedbacks are always encouraging but also specific and detailed to help you improve. She gives a lot of creative freedom but also has clear criteria for what she wants. Genuinely enjoyed this class

Her class was super fun, but not easy. She has us practice a ton of writing styles and did not like the 5-paragraph essay. We did lists, poems, narratives, and other prompts. If you were confused or needed help she was quick to respond. She would also do Zoom class where you could have her look over your outline/essay and get helpful advice.

Martha is one of the best professors at Bellevue college. The entire class is 2 essays, the first one is small and the second one is the final. Overall, the assignments are just preparing for the final research paper. She gives you lots of resources and information. If you get overwhelmed or confused, just ask and she'll help

Professor Silano is one of the best professors at BC. She is understanding and wants you to succeed. Assignments are easy if you pay attention to the rubric/criteria and try your best. She is very supportive and accessible outside of class to set up a Zoom meeting or answer questions through email. I wish I could have her for every class.

Professor Silano is amazing. You can tell she cares for her students and wants to teach. The workload is pretty good, 2-4 assignments every week. It is mostly discussions and submit a poem every week. There are a few quizzes, but there is always 2 attempts. There are 3 big 100 point projects, one in the midterm and 2 in the last two weeks, not bad.

Professor Silano super nice, not a tough grader at all and always gave encouraging feedback. Course was asynchronous, Prof. active online and sent out announcements frequently. Weekly work was 1-2 discussions, 1 poem, 2 peer reviews, and 1 journal entry. Complete the assignments and you'll get an A! Likely won't need the extra credit offered.

Pretty heavy class. There's lots of reading, writing, and discussions, but super engaging material! Proff. Burns was so kind and gave great feedback. This class has a lot of variety in what you read and write, which was really cool. Lots of work but worth it.

I bought the assigned book but Prof. Silano uploaded the assigned pages to Canvas weekly. 4 units: Fiction (read "Bartleby, the Scrivener" and "The Lottery"), Poetry (read 5 poems), Drama (read "A Doll's House"), and Personal Essay (read 3 essays). Weekly discussion posts and essays for each unit. Essays typically 700-1000 words.

The best teacher at Bellevue College. I would only sign up for her classes if she taught every subject. She edited my essays and ALWAYS responded within 24 hours. Provides amazing feedback, and does not assign any kind of busy work. This class was also a great one and had much better content than the previous English courses I have taken. 10/10.

Professor Silano was one of the best professors. All of the work was easy and very manageable. You'll do great if you do the discussion posts and try on your essays. The essays were all based around food so they were really fun and interesting to write about. Professor Silano was also an easy grader and was very caring towards her students.

As someone whose worst subject is English, I was nervous about taking a college-level English course. I learned a lot from this course, this course made me enjoy writing. Grading is straightforward, however, I would have appreciated more feedback. Overall Professor Silano is a professor I would recommend to anyone!
