I took this class for summer 1 and it was a fairly easy class. This class contains lectures and class participation in group discussions. For this class make sure to turn in all your assignments before the deadline and you will be fine. Extra credit opportunities will be given if needed.

It is a quite challenging course, but the lectures are really helpful. Mr. Jasso is always well-prepared and shows a lot of enthusiasm when going over lectures. All assignments are graded fairly, so as long as you turn in your work, everything should be fine. Great professor overall.

He is an excellent professor, very committed to the class, always attentive to the students, and offers many opportunities for extra credits.

Always prepared to teach very motivated gives extra credit during class uses life lesson in his teaching. Makes it easy and very interesting in class. Made me understand the material and that we have choice in life to make a difference.

The class was not that difficult. There was a lot a reading but if you read the PowerPoints, took notes, read the eBook you should be fine. Overall, the class was pretty easy if you show up and read. He does give extra credit to help you out. He is a great professor and enjoys educating students.

This is class is not very difficult, and is mostly reliant on the online textbook. The lectures are informative, productive, as well as having extra credit sprinkled throughout. My only grievance with the class would have to be the lack of assignments, in that, a course grade could be made or broken by a singular assignment.

Quizzes focus on the textbook, tests on lectures, and assignments mix both. Lectures are note heavy but make the material easier to understand. If you stay on top of everything, the class is manageable. I've taken this professor twice and always received helpful feedback.

Mr. Jasso is a really great professor, he explains the lectures in a good and profesional way. I didn't know much about the politics or the government but in this class he explain to the basics and some deep things about texas. I highly recommend him.

Awesome professor. Has a very good teaching style and ability to make it easy to understand. Makes the lecture feel like an open discussion and can ask questions anytime if in doubt of something. Offers extra credit to the ones who are open to answering questions as well as other was. Works with you and offers help if needed.

Excellent professor, he has a great attitude when it comes to teaching. He provides a safe environment to ask questions and gives extra credit for answering questions. His lectures are easy to understand and comprehend. This course is participation based which makes lectures interesting.

His teaching is really good since I was never able to really understand politics and government but he is very lecture based and you have to read your textbook overall he is a great teacher.

Be ready to participate and answer questions. He give opportunity for more extra credit as long as you read and to the research. You will come out of the class enlightened on Texas politics

Mr. Alvear- Jasso was overall a very good instructor. He explained the material clearly and connected the topics to real life situations, which made the course more engaging. His lectures were well organized, and he always encouraged questions. He was also super understanding when it came to my injury, he gave me extra time to be able to catch up.

Lectures were interesting all throughout the year with students giving answers and questions throughout as well as providing us with more insight on topics. He gave feedback on the assessments which I found helpful to understand more about the topic and how to make my responses. I think adding more activities would be beneficial for students.

This professor focuses on their own PowerPoints rather than the material that is posted on Canvas. While similar information is available, it was important to attend class to ensure that you captured the information delivered in person. I enjoyed that he opened class up for group discussion to capture our thoughts and ideas towards the lessons.
