accent is hot - but the class is not easy. in order to get a "fair" grade on test you have to review both notes and read chapters in book.
Class is easy if you aren't a total slacker. Coleman's lecture notes are VERY clear and he basically spells out what is going to be on the tests.

Accent: HOT Class: Fairly easy when you do the homework. He does take alot of the info from the book, which is kinda ok. But its cool when he puts humor into the lectures, keeps me awake. Preferred Juice: Tropicana 100% Apple Juice

The accent is very hot!

He's an amazing teacher. Very clear with assignments and notes, it's almost impossible to fall behind. Somehow he also keeps the class engaging for students who have no trouble keeping up or leaping forward. I hope he teaches more upper level classes.

Easy class, good looking, hot accent, ear double piereced, adds humor to class.

Funny and very helpful!
Pretty easy teacher to understand and makes the class pretty easy. Towards the end of the semester he pretty much told us most of the test question. Easy to get Extra Credit in this class as well. I read the chapters and looked over my notes the night before the test and did very well. If you put forth effort, you'l get an A for sure.

Coleman is awesome! He's easy to listen to (has a cool British accent) and keeps lectures fun. Jokes with students and a great teacher at the same time. Most test materials are covered 100% in class and he provides "mock exams" which aid in studying! Definatly recommend Coleman!
It is an intersting class and I look forward to the education I will be getting.
The class was fairly easy, because he is a good teacher and makes everyone understand the material. You do have to study for tests, and read the book if you want an A, but he offers a lot of extra credit opportunities. Anyone who tries should get a good grade.
He's a nice guy, but i hear all the other psych 111 teachers are way easier
Hes probably the best prof I had in college so far, definitely knows his stuff, he also keeps the lectures very interesting. The class can be hard if you don't study hard enough though. Cant go wrong with the British accent either.
A very good professor! Taking his summer Intro to psychology is recomended!
He's very cute. And a great professor too...
Professor Coleman was awesome! He doesn't have to look at his notes during lecture, this shows that he really knows what he's talking about. Good sense of humor, he uses some college humor, which is always amusing. Definitely recommended.
Professor Coleman is a really interesting guy to listen to. He knows what he is talking about and knows how to answer questions. He has the ability to control a large auditorium full of college students, which is a good thing. He made the topics interesting to learn about.
Lectures are interesting, if you know the notes 100% I would say you could get a high C/low B on the tests need to read the book to get an A.
He is easy to follow and keeps the class interesting
The best way to take this class is being his student. there is no way to fail. If you go to class and take notes and maybe a little bit of studying before the test you will B the class easy.
Good teacher....English
Good teacher....English.....Fair
Easy class :)
He knows what he is talking about and he makes it easy to take notes. He offers a lot of extra credit opprotunities. This class was really cool I would recommend it.
Great professor, he was very clear in his teaching. The british accent made attending class a treat. He'd use videos and examples to get through the material. It made psych very exciting!!
Great teacher! Tests are easy as long as you study both book and class notes. Explains material in a way that makes it easy to understand. Very funny and helpful if there are any questions you have. Overall, one of my favorite teachers and I'd definitely take another class from him (took Psych 111 and Psych 322).
Dr. Coleman is a great professor! He is really good at explaining everything clearly. Also he has a British accent, so if you're like me, it definitely adds to the lecture! MAKE SURE YOU READ THE BOOK THOUGH!
Very good professor.
Awesome teacher! Very clear and easy to understand. Also is very funny and you can tell he enjoys teaching and the subject matter. Really good start to psychology.
Dr.Coleman is amazing, so much fun and helpful!
Dr. Coleman loves to use powerpoint presentations, but he can be a bit mono at times. If you take notes and do all of the available extra credit then you should do fine in this class. It's also nice that the final exam is optional!
Professor Coleman is simply amazing! If you have the chance, take this class from him. He's the sole reason as to why I became so interested in psychology, which led to changing my major from English to Psych!
Class is simple. A lot of extra credit available. He makes class interesting and funny
Dr. Coleman is awesome. He applies stories and humor to better explain the material. He made a three hour class interesting and fun.
With all of the extra credit offered, you have no reason not to ace this class.
I just love Coleman! He is an awesome professor with a quirky sense of humor (which definantly makes lectures more interesting). The only complaint I woul have is that he is suuuupppperr slow getting exams onto Blackboard, so don't expect anything faster than a week.
Dr. Coleman was my favorite professor this semester! He very good explaining concepts, so that people who aren't interested in psychology can understand. I would highly recommend taking this class from him!
Hard to understand him. Notes rarely follow the book information.
Great teacher. Very interesting class! His tests aren't that difficult, and if you study and go to class, you should do well. I changed my major to psychology because of this class. Also, his accent is sexy. ;)
Very good teacher, does not put notes on blackboard so going to class is mandatory, gives extra credit and very helpful when you need it. Tests are pretty easy. I would definitely suggest taking this class and teacher! Even if its not required for your major its pretty easy class for filling credits.
He doesn't put any notes online so he wants you to come to class but it isn't mandatory. You really need to pay attention and read the book and know the terms to get a good grade because sometimes it can be confusing. Overall he seems like a nice teacher.
He made his lectures very easy to follow, spoke very slowly and clearly, he made it fun to come to class.
Very clear, and often funny. Has many interesting examples and experiments done in class. The course work is interesting and dynamic.
He's British. He keeps the class interesting. He give great notes that are helpful when studying and the class is pretty easy if you study and go to class.
Missed an exam due to a family emergency in the beginning of the semester and he was going to make me wait 3 months to make it up. Lack of understanding or empathy toward students who put forward effort and show they care. Not recommended.
LOVE COLEMAN. he is honestly a great teachers and lectures are usually great to listen to. There is a lot of notes but all the exams are straight from the notes so just go to class and pay attention and you should be fine.
I show'd up two weeks late to the first semester, and he gave me an extra time to get the notes and study. He is very understanding! His tests are straight forward and come from the note and book. If you study you will do just fine.
So many extra credit opportunities, and a great overall professor.
He is a great teacher who will help you through the semester and help with any confusion. He made me fall in love with psychology
Makes material easier by giving lots of examples. Tests can be a little tricky because there is a lot of info and he pulls stuff from the book. You can receive up to one letter grade higher by completing all the extra credit though. He also lets you exempt one test, including the final.
Funny professor. He makes his lessons easy to listen to and clear. Test will be tough if you don't prepare from them. GET THE BOOK it will be helpful to refer back to when preparing for exams.
He's a great professor and keeps the class interesting
He really makes psychology concepts understandable. Definitely would take a class with him again.
Skip class, and you don't get the notes.
Soc. 214 is not a difficult class. He made is super difficult. His slides have way too much information, which makes it difficult to read when has everything he can think of on them. His test questions are just as long. Its hard to take a 40 question exam in 45 minutes. He also puts symbols like #%@% in the exam. Nothing good to say...
British accent
Good teacher overall just need to read the book and study. His lectures are a little boring at times. He does give extra credit that is very helpful.
Passionate about what he is teaching. He gives a drop test and a whole letter grade drop. He is better than most psych profs I have heard. He would take questions and was willing to meet up with you 1-1 if you needed to.
TOUGHEST GRADER, HARD EXAMS, LOTS OF WORK, Impossible to pass
Show up for the review sessions and write down everything he says. Go over those notes a few times and you'll ace the test
Coleman is passionate about what he teaches, and is very well organized. Although, speaking from someone who is always an A/B student, this class is hard. The test are very difficult. Do the extra credit, from the beginning because it can save your grade.
Most of the test questions are from the notes, some reading from the book. Tons of extra credit, like can raise your grade by 1 letter grade. His lectures are interesting, overall I really enjoyed this class!
Coleman is very thorough in explaining what will be on exams. He has a great way of trying to explain complex terms to beginning learners of psychology. Attending lectures is a must. The book was slightly used for answers on exams, but it did help me understand concepts. I had fun by creating "British Word of The Day" for his lectures.
Dr. Coleman is very good at teaching you everything you need to know for the tests but when the tests come the way he words questions them don't help.
Dr. Coleman is a great psychology professor who really wants students to learn. Attendance is not "mandatory," but you don't want to miss this class- the tests are basically the lectures, so take good notes. Don't buy the book, you probably won't read it. 5 section tests and a final (choose 1 to drop, so many people don't take the final at all).
Awesome teacher, recommend going to class, no online notes. Funny guy, British and never goes past when class is supposed to end. Highly recommend maxing out on research credits to receive extra credit as it can raise you a whole letter grade. To quizzes due online before each test. Unless you learn best from reading books textbook isn't needed
Dr. Coleman is a great teacher. Do all of the extra credit you can since it can boost an entire letter grade. Don't forget to do all the online quizzes before the tests too. Make friends in the class, so you can get notes from them when needed since he doesn't post them online. The final is optional too, so work hard during the semester.
Go to class and take good notes. Reading the content covered in class helps a bit before the tests. When he is giving examples of a certain situation, write them down, they are VERY similar to a scenario he will use in a test. Lectures aren't bad, he has a British accent so thats neat. Do the extra credit, its too easy not to do for a letter grade.
Very kind and straightforward professor. His slides are well put together, and he does not post them on BB so attend class. This is a very basic, straightforward easy class. Lecture may be a bit dry at times but he's got a British accent. Gladly answers any questions. Do the extra credit, there are so few points it will change a letter grade
Has cool British accent making lengthy&hefty lectures somewhat enjoyable. Go to class, he WON'T put notes online/let you take pics of slides in lectures. Book isn't needed unless that's how you learn. Counts 5 out of 6 tests(including final). You can boost your grade up a whole letter w/extra credit. Mock exams are VERY similar to exams. Recommend!
He is interested in what he is teaching but the lectures are really boring. You take a lot of notes in class and tests are pretty hard. He uses a lot of examples and scenarios in his tests. The good thing about this class was that he provides a whole letter grade of extra credit in the SONA points. 16 are required but you can go up to 41 for EC!
He does not post notes, so go to class or find a friend that takes good notes and you'll be fine. You don't need the textbook. Drops one exam, which makes the final optional. Do the EC, brings you up a whole letter grade.
Coleman is by far one of the best professors that I have had! There was a lot of lecture but you learn so much from it. His tests are pretty easy, just put in effort in studying. The extra credit is easy and itll bring you up an entire letter grade. And his British accent makes the lecture easy and interesting to listen to. 10/10 would recommend.
Leaves nice comments on assignments and grades fairly. Expectations are very clear. About 1 assignment and quiz every 1-2 weeks. Answers to the exams are in the slides.
He is an amazing teacher! He makes lectures fun and you actually learn things from his lectures!
Honestly one of the best professors I have ever had. British accent kept me awake and his humor/funny videos. Attendance not mandatory, but make sure you study for the Exams because they are hard. Great extra credit opportunity doing the Sona study's. Homework due on test days and only took me 10-30 minutes each time.
This is a big lecture class but Coleman tries to make it interesting by telling funny, but bad jokes. There are two 5 point quizzes before every test. He requires you to get 16 credits doing SONA studies. after you get your 16 SONA credits, anything after that is extra credit. The tests are mostly definitions with a few critical thinking questions.
This class was ok, I got a A on 1 test 2,bs on another, 1 C and 1 D on the other tests. The sona 25 extra credit really helped me get an A in this course. Make sure you do all the quizzes, they also help. He's overall a very straight forward teacher, if you take all the opportunities he gives you, you will pass.
I had his condensed 4 week summer course. Every assignment is pretty easy and tests are open book but timed so they are also pretty easy. He gives great feedback too if you don't understand something.
Dr. Coleman is a knowledgeable teacher, however, I found his lectures a little boring. But the lectures give examples very similar to what is on on the tests--which are the only things graded. Coleman also gives good study guides and practices exams for each test.
Tries his best to make lectures entertaining and have participation. If you're struggling at all, stop into his office and he will help you out. Funny, dorky guy with a British accent. Also has mutual respect for his students. Take his class if you're required PSYCH!
LOVED his class. His lectures are interesting, but he talks kinda slow. He makes sure everyone has copied down the notes on the slide before moving on. Makes jokes sometimes. Overall great time. I learned lots. The only thing that was difficult was the tests ONLY IF YOU DIDNT STUDY. Study the vocabulary well. The tests are in person.
Professor Coleman was interesting. He was very funny and tried to make his lectures entertaining. The biggest issue I had with his class was that for me, all of the tests were in person, on paper. They were sometimes quite difficult. Overall, not a bad professor, you just have to put some time into studying.
4 week class with lots of slides and powerpoints. Assignments and blogs were applicable and learned a lot in this class. Graded quickly and had good, effective feedback! Nice class, nice teacher
This is a great class his tests were open note and followed his slide lectures exactly. Just go to class take notes and you will be good.
Dr. Coleman is a great professor, leaving very clear standards on what he is teaching and what he expects. Everything you need to know for tests is very clearly in the notes.
Attendance is not mandatory but if you don't go you'll miss so much. He gives study guides for the tests and that's all I ever used for studying and it worked out well.
Interesting course. Tests are fairly difficult so take some time to study outside of class. Very lecture heavy, but he tries to make them interesting with jokes, stories, etc.
Great professor, very smart, very funny. If you want an easy psych class he's the one. If you want an awesome professor for an awesome and interesting topic or major he's the one. Any advice is go to the lectures, and take advantage of asking him questions after class, he's very passionate and loves what he does.
He is a great professor so if you need to take a Psych class take it with him. His lectures are informative and entertaining along with easy assignments, easy exams, and an optional final. Insider tip get your SONA studies out of the way asap bc at the end of the semester everyone needs to do them and the online ones fill up fast.
he is a great professor
absolute g of a professor. the class is pretty easy and straightforward and he makes lectures super engaging. exams are also super easy and he drops the lowest test score, so if you do well on all of the ones throughout the semester, you don't have to take the final since it will get dropped
Class consisted of a weekly powerpoint lecture, quiz and/or assignment every week, four exams, one final cumulative exam, and four flip grid videos. Vey nice prof, sent occasional progress reports and gave personalized feedback on assignments explaining why 'that' particular grade was given. The textbook was not needed for this class.
Dr. Coleman is very friendly and funny. This class was exciting and engaging. I definitely would recommend it.
Professor Coleman is an example of a large lecture done right. He goes over what is on the test in class, so don't feel pressured to buy the textbook. and has review days as well to go over what will be on the exam. The Exams are all done online and are open note, you have about 45-60 min to complete them. Other than that there is not much homework
Funniest British man I've ever met. Makes the material understandable with lots of examples and videos. He likes roasting America and it's funny every time. Overall just a very entertaining professor. I took the class in person but every exam was open book/note and online so it's easy to do well. There is also a lot of opportunity for extra credit.
This course is very very lecture heavy but the lectures were fun, interactive, and super interesting. He is kind of a subtle kind of funny in his lectures which makes it entertaining. Tests arent too hard he has us take them online at anypoint of the test day. I would recomend his course
