Martin is one of the few professors who teach from experience and not blindly from a textbook. The textbook is written by him, and available at the library (SCAN IT FROM DAY 1!) All the quizzes are verbatim from the textbook (take detailed notes; he only takes verbatim/exact answers). Also, if you're squeamish, don't take the class. BEST PROF EVER!

Homework assignments gave me the opportunity to apply what I learned from my readings about drugged behavior. Recommend this course if you want to learn about different substances and how it affects family members.

Prof. Martin knows his stuff about addiction. Always has the time to answer your questions and encourages students to participate and express their views. His discussion board topics really make you think! His power point lectures have music, pictures and movies that keep your attention. Three reaction papers, misterm and final examination.

Taking the course now so I don't know my final grade yet. I do know this is my favorite course this semester. The homework assignments really make you think about what you learned in class. Really enjoy the critical thinking discussion board questions. Lectures keep you interested with power point, music, movies, stories and discussion.

Professor Martin really cares about his students. He sends out a gang of emails about upcoming lessons, tests, homework's and motivating messages in the form of poems and songs.
