A wild looking professor and very cool. He knows his field of study. Take his class and have fun.
It was interesting to have taken a class with the person who wrote the text book.
Interesting teacher, very intimidating at first. Will let you have open-book tests. Gives extra credit. Wild- looking guy. Passionate but hard to debate with at times.
Martin made it clear the first day of class he perfers to be called by his first name, and not professor. He uses music, poetry, guest speakers, demonstrations, and movies that depict the seedy side of drug abuse. He is big on handouts and using the blackboard. Martin is always motivating us to express our views and ideas in class. He is a cool dude.
The professor used music, poetry, videos, guest speaker to help me better understand the topic. He likes to use icebreakers to get students involved in class.
Attendance is mandatory!! The professor gives a lot of notes so don't be late. Class notes were helpful but get the book and read the assigned chapters. My final grade was an "A."
Inspirational and motivating teacher.
Failed the midterm exam and thought about dropping the course. Prof. gave me a pep talk and motivated me to stay in the class. Other professors wouldn't have taken the time to motivate me. The professor goes the extra mile for students.
KIN# 403 is required for my major and I had no choice but to take it. I really didn't want to take any boring course about drug abuse. The course opened my eyes to the meaning of drug abuse. Kin 403 has turned out to be a fun and great course.
I am taking KIN 403 as an elective because it fitted into my schedule. This guy is not your average Manhattan College professor. Takes attendance and encourages class participation . The movies, guest speakers, his knowledge and experience bring real life to the course. Hands out an exam study sheet and gives you a chance to earn extra credit.
My major is Psychology and I took KIN #403 because I thought it would help me better understand why people abuse drugs. The course did help and so much more. I found the course to helpful and fun too. I actually enjoyed coming to class.

Currently taking the class. Even thought AH 403 is a night class I still look forward to attending . The Prof. has a funny sense of humor and keeps my attention. Learned so much about different drugs of abuse and the semester is only half over. I recommend the course and the professor.
Professor Colucci is a walking drug and alcohol encyclopedia. Lectures are long but interesting with text, music and movies. Too bad he only teaches one course.
There are so many positive things I could say about taking Professor Colucci for AH 304. The course helped me better understand several of my family members who uses substances.
My friends told about this course and professor. Last night was my first class and it was unbelievable. The lecture was long with a lot of information but the topics were amazing. This professor is not like any other professor I ever had. Made the class interesting with his down to earth approach. Looking forward to the coming weeks.
Intro to Drugs & Alcohol is a course unlike any course I ever had. The material is all too real and sometimes it hits home. As a psychology major, the class is helping me better understand why people use drugs.
This professor is very passionate about the topic and keeps your attention with his power point lecture presentation. He guides you through the lesson and makes sure you understand the content of his lecture. Willing to explain and encourages students to ask questions.
Currently taking Allied Health 403 and learned about drugs I didn't even knew existed. The course has opened my eyes to a whole new meaning of addiction. I now see dug addiction beyond the standard social drugs like alcohol and marijuana. The professor's feedback was very helpful when it came to my own family struggling with alcoholism.

Makes you work for your grade but he's not a tough grader.
Was an amazing class, I learned so much about drugs. I am hoping sometime during my college life I am able to take one of his classes again.
This course single-handed brought me up to speed about my family alcoholism. Taking Intro to Addiction was the best decision I have made in long time. The professor's feedback and advice really helped. Excellent professor, with a sense of humor and a very fair grader.
Passionate about teaching you about drug addiction. Follows the course syllabus and responds quickly to emails. The course is demanding but not hard to pass with an "A." Attendance is a must and participation is expected. Provides extensive feedback and interesting stories from his experience from counseling addicts.
Thank you Martin, for all your "all" your assistance in helping me get into a PA graduate school program! You made my educational process at Manhattan College a beautiful experience. You are truly a one of a kind professor!
Professor Colucci is eccentric looking with his long white hair and beard. Very knowledgeable about the field of addiction. His use of poetry, music, movies, storytelling and icebreakers supports the research aspect of the course. Course is fun and enjoyable. Highly recommend the professor and course.
Nice, cool, interesting and fun going attitude. He always brings snacks to class. Very clear when presenting the course material and brings a font of realism to the subject. You must take this prof. for any drug course! You will learn, gain insight and experience from his intelligence and counseling experience. Very approachable.
The course is taught by a liberal prof. whose's approach is unique. and charming. Upfront and engaging personality. There is nothing phony about this prof! Lectures come at you from all directions at once. Excellent use of music, poetry, icebreakers, real-life videos, counseling and personal stories. Nix mix of being serious and humorous.
Testing is heavy and the professor is a stickler for class participation with his icebreaker activity. I still wish every professor was like Martin. He is an amazing professor and has worked a diverse rang of jobs. Recommend him 100%!
I can't even begin to describe how wonderful he is as a professor and person. Martin is a great professor to take for a drug course. Makes the course much more interesting than it really is. Gives amazing and funny examples. Takes you deep into the insane world of addiction. Don't hesitate to any drug course he teaches.
Martin is the coolest professor I ever had at Manhattan College! Would take him for any drug course! Academics and street knowledgeable about drug addiction! LOVE his "ICEBREAKERS!" His stories are a plus in helping you learn about drugs too! Eight, 5 point quiz's, that are real easy if you read the short chapters. Review sheet for major exams.
AWESOME ATTITUDE! GLAD I TOOK THE COURSE!
Amazing professor! I would take any course with this professor!
The most interesting professor I ever had at Manhattan! Simply the best!
Martin is mystical in thinking and eccentric looking with his long white hair and beard. Extremely knowledgeable about addiction and recovery. Clearly the best person to teach you about this topic! Highly recommended!
Martin is the man. By far my favorite prof. Utterly fantastic, hilarious, educational and approachable. Such a genuine person who really cares about his students education and teaching you about substance abuse. The course was very demanding and for the most part fun. Wouldn't think twice about taking another course with him!
Professor Colucci knows his stuff and applies theory from the textbook to real life. His lectures are entertaining and he clearly highlights the information he wants you to know. He likes participation. Take him you won't regret it.
Took Prof. Colucci 's course and had a blast! Most recently, I contacted him and requested a letter of recommendation for graduate school. Even though, I contacted him the last minute, he wrote the letter.. Truly a very, very caring person!
Returned to Manhattan in the pursuit of a Masters in Mental Health Counseling. I was extremely upset to hear my former professor Martin Colucci is no longer teaching at Manhattan! Colucci was my prof for AHS 403 & 404 drug courses. Very impressive prof. who created both AHS 403 & 404 courses and wrote the textbook. One of the prof's @ MANHATTAN!
Prof. Colucci was my professor for AHS 403. He was an inspirational person who cared about students learning about drug addiction. Brought to class the wisdom and professional counseling experience that made the course interesting. Even though I graduated, he was never too busy to give me letters of reference to graduate school and employment.
