This is BY FAR the best math teacher ever and a good person as well. Teaches in different varieties to ensure EVERYONE understands. Tests are exactly what are on the reviews. Gives homework but does not collect. Easy quizzes every now and then.

Prof. Jones is a wonderful teacher who always tells jokes and is interesting. He encourages all his students to visit him during his office hours if they are confused (which is usually never b/c it is so easy). He personalizes each test and seems to enjoy teaching. If you don't like math, TAKE HIM

I love this teacher. He helped me in math, I got 100% on a test, I have never done that in math before. He is a great teacher with handout option homework that strongly resembles his exams. Great teacher. No mandatory hw at all. Can't recommend him enough.

i just enjoyed going to class because he is so cute but he also is very helpful all you need to do is look over the nonquizzes that he doesn't grade to make an A on the tests

Only took this class because it was required, but Prof. Jones made it totally worth while!! He has an engaging personality, clearly knows his stuff, and is definitely all about helping students succeed. Martin is awesome. Even at 8 am you wont fall asleep and you will learn easily. He explains things in an elementary way so you will ace the tests. He is always available for extra help, if you want to get an A, you will definetly get an A. Hes AWESOME!

I honestly can't think of a negative thing to say about this guy. I had this class Mon. Wed. and Fri mornings at 8 and it was one of my favorite classes at CofC. Also, review sessions before tests helped out a lot.

absolutely loved him. he is real cool, he doesn't take attendance but i feel quilty if i don't come because he really loves his students and tries to keep them interested which he has not problems in doing. i would recommend him to everyone and i pray that one day he will teach another course that i have to take because i ♥ Him!!! If you have to take a math class sign up for one with Martin. He's extremely helpful, gives out work sheets every friday that are extremely helpful when it comes time to study for tests, no quizes, tests only. I'm horrible at math and he made it crystal clear, I ended up with an A+. Plus He's funny so if you can only get him at 8am it's worth it!

Fantastic teacher! He really wants his students to be able to apply statistics outside of class. He teaches it to apply it. Very clear, fun,a nd you know exactly what to expect on tests. No tricks. He just wants to see you use it properly. Very available, and only a few assignments during the semester.

LOVE THIS GUY. Definitely my favorite professor at CofC. Statistics is dull and challenging, but Martin made it bearable. Very interactive and loves helping out in any way possible. One of the most passionate professors ever, he's inspired me to take more math classes. Tests are incredibly fair, and his little assignments gets you familiar with software that you can use for other classes. If you have to take 250, definitely take it with Martin! Also, if you have any previous statistics experience, you're set for an easy A!

Dr. Jones is an amazing teacher. He is passionate about the subject and he holds review sessions before tests to make sure you are prepared. The 5 out-of-class assignments we had were useful because we learned how to use a statistical software. Anyone who says it is hard to do well in Jones class is not taking advantage of what he offers.

Jones is great in every way. Very passionate about math and it shows in his teaching. He cares more about you understanding the concept than giving you an assignment. My second math class with Martin was Math 350 - Statistical Methods. He made everything easy to understand and applicable to real world situations and problems, making seemingly abstract concepts tangible. Very friendly, fun, and funny guy. Makes class very enjoyable. I actually looked forward to going to class!

This was my 3rd class with Martin. The course material was hard, being a 400-level, but Martin makes everything approachable and easy to understand in simplified terms. This guy is just the best. You won't fully understand all these positive reviews on here until you take his classes and experience it yourself.

If you have the opportunity, take him. He knows his stuff and is able to explain complex lessons simply and concisely. I would register for any math class he teaches.

Prof Jones is awesome. He makes stats interesting and easy which isn't easy to do. He's super nice and will explain something 10 times if you need him to. You can use a cheat sheet on the midterm and he tells you exactly what is going to be on the midterm/final. Also, no tests. Take him!

I hate math, but I actually enjoyed this class solely because of Professor Jones. He is super laid back and interjects funny stories into the lessons, which helped keep my attention. He keeps the material simple, and there are only a few easy assignments the whole semester. Plus, a cheat sheet on midterms and finals!

Professor Jones is one of the best professors I've had thus far at CofC. His lectures are fun and he relates the class to real world examples. There are frequent MiniTab assignments due bi-weekly but are easy if you take notes in class and count for a big chunk of your grade. He is such a sweet man and is always willing to help!

Fantastic professor! Assignments are well explained, and the material is presented clearly and well. Plus he's very approachable and engaging. Wish I could take another class with him!

3 exams (typically 4, but due to the weather the syllabus was changed), super easy as long as you attend class. Hands out study guides that are similar to the exams. A few Minitab projects, but he demonstrates how to complete the project in class. Lectures are fun to attend, funny guy! Highly recommend!

Professor Jones is not only one of my favorite professors at C of C, but he is probably my favorite Math professor of all time! I never really liked math, but going to his class makes it so much more fun! He relates everything to real world examples and makes learning the material simple. No need for a textbook, he writes his own notes. Take him!!!

My all time favorite math teacher that I have ever had. No textbook required, just amazing lectures that have you walking out of the classroom with a smile on your face because you understand everything going on. Also, should be a comedian in his free time because he is so hilarious. 10/10 recommend this professor for any math course.

I would recommend him to anyone who struggles with statistics. I have tried multiple stats professors at CofC and just could not follow along. He presented the material in a way that made it fun to learn! I would definitely recommend taking him for stats!

I had Professor Jones for statistics and he was extremely helpful. I scraped by in MATH 250 not really understanding the material well and was super scared to take his class, but he did an amazing job of explaining everything and was extremely friendly and approachable. Take him if you can!!

I had him for 440 this past semester and will have him again next semester. Overall, I enjoyed his class and ended up doing well. His lectures at times were a little messy, but he genuinely wanted us to do well and was not afraid to majorly curve if needed. Couldn't tell you how much I really learned, but at least I did well.

Jones is such a sweet person/professor. He is not a tough grader. Homework reports are about 50% of the grade which is such a plus! His lectures can be all over the place, hard to connect point A to point B, but if you show up, and practice the study guide ideas, you will be fine! He is helpful in office hours and is willing to work and support you
