Great teacher.
very knowledgable with subject matter
Great teacher, really enjoys teaching. Tests are easy. Very clear and has great online resources.
great teacher! very passionate, is always available for questions
Tests can be hard. Quizes before class almost everday which can be hard. Loves teaching, very boring class though. Take him if you are taking GEOG 101.
Very, very, very.......very boring.
Very nice and easy going, funny, likes talking about the subject, very willing to help anytime, if you study you should have no problem getting a "b" or an "A", course does require some work though
easy teacher. come to class nad get 25% of your grade. 3 exams. very easy straight from notes that are online
Nice guy. Doesn't give his students enough credit for their interest. Deemphasizes important subject matter that he later tests on. This makes the class dull and vague. I still don't know what geography is supposed to be about.
Real nice guy, tries his best with a boring subject... though he truly does love it. Tests can be hard, you need to study. Certainly not impossible though. DON'T BUY THE BOOK... seriously, you'll never use it.
I definitely agree with that last comment. YOU WILL NEVER EVER USE THE BOOK. He has notes for the class online that you can print out. You don't even need to do that. Buying the book would be a complete waste of money.
very good teacher, tests are very clear and forward and he is a pretty easy grader
What a wonderfully sweet man. He's so passionate about what he does, I think it can (sometimes) be contagious. He's not terribly easy, but not too hard either. Whatever difficulty is involved though, taking him is well worth it.
A good teacher. Gives pop quizzes (so make sure you come to class). Outline of notes are posted on a website-helps study for tests. Tests are multiple choice with some short answers questions also. Didn't use the book.
Tries his best to make the class fun, but hes kind of a nerd but cute in a nerdy way. 20% of grade based on in class quizzes, 4 tests, never use the book, very clear outlines, tests are VERY DIFFICULT, nice guy, pretty good teacher not including his exams
extremely hard 101 class, quiz almost everyday be4 class. really nicee guy but material is extremely hard, and tests can be tricky! would not recommend 4 101
a teacher that loves what he teaches...but it is a hard class. tests are difficult. it can be boring at times. for a 101 class it is hard. don't take this class.
Wonderful teacher! He is amazing at explaining the most difficult subjects. 4 tests - no final -not****tests. Quizzes almost every class - but are designed to boost your grade! Don't buy the book - really you won't use it. I took geog once and failed. I took it with him and got an A!!
This class is so incredibly easy! He doesn't cover very much material and the tests are super easy. You barely have to study at all! Nevertheless, you will learn some interesting things in the class. Also, he's kind of dorky but very nice and friendly.
Good Teacher, However, he needs to curve his exams. THe class average was always around a low 70 and sometimes in the 60's for exams and still he wouldnt curve exams. I never missed a class and got high B's on all the finals and A's on all Quizzes and still I got a B. Dont Buy the BooK!!!!!!!!!!!
no curve. lots of quizes. tricky tests. dont take this class.
He helps a bit but the class is just so boring and he makes geog more difficult than it really is. personally i dont care when the equinox and perehilion are. For a 101 class this class is harder than it should be. The quizes dont boost your grade either. DONT BUY THE BOOK. U wont use it! promise.
DONT BUY BOOK!! Really nice guy - if you go to class you will do fine. Quizes almost every class - boost ur grade! 4 tests non cumulative. No final. Great teacher - If you miss classes you will do bad though. If you attend - easy A
No Final??!! There was a final in the class last fall-if that is so then take this class in the spring. Lucky.
awesome guy!! pretty easy class... boring subject but he makes it fun. hes always there to help if you have any questions at all, i'd recommend him!
Great teacher who makes this subject very interesting. Tests started out easy and then turned more difficult. However, if you study and try hard u should end with an overall good grade. Quizes almost everyday so be prepared.
Great Guy!!! Is very interested in making sure that the student learns, but tries to tie in fun and interesting ways to learn. Even though this was an independent study, I feel that I came away from this course knowing more about this topic than I thought I would. GREAT JOB, MARTY!!!
Really nice guy, good sense of humor. has convenient office hours and willing to help. really dont need to buy the book, but if you want to, get a cheap one. daily quizzes are easy and boost your grade. tests are fair. interesting class and great teacher.
marty always wanted a chilli pepper. so here is one for him!!!! he's super easy, explains everything. study for tests off of notes. book is good for pictures and visuals but isn't necessarily needed. great teacher.
I really like this professor! I think hes really funny and kind. You have to study, and def get the book, the notes go along with it and it helps with studying for the tests. He doesn't care what edition you get. i got the 4th and spent $7 on it. His tests arn't EASY but arent impossible. Just STUDY, COME TO CLASS, and you'll be fine. Def reccomend
Yes he'a nice and I don't dislike him in any sense. But the tests are hard. Most Ppl don't get A's. He will clarify but there sre unexpected hard ?s on the tests.
Not the best teacher i've ever had, but he's still a good teacher. really nice guy, very helpful and understanding. I would definitely recommend him :-)
I love Marty he is so cute and really helpful. I had to laugh the day he wore the "Soylent Green is People" t-shirt. His tests are kind of hard but he is a really understanding teacher
not the coolest guy around but he's down to earth...did good on test but being late i missed alot of quizzes which hurt my grade...dont miss the quizzes!!!
awsome prof with great lectures, MUST read textbook and show up for quizes and yes you have to really study for tests but it is all reasonable and i would absolutly recomend prof, good guy you would want to be freinds with
Marty Roberge is a fantastic teacher.
Awesome Teacher!!.. Don't need the textbook. I learned a lot from the class. His tests are multiple choice and some short answer and you need to study but it was worth the effort!! Take him..
One of the best teachers I've seen. Knows how to explain things a million different ways. Goes out of his way to keep you from having to memorize useless facts. Heck of a nice guy and hilarious. I learned so many useful things in his class.
Class is not hard if you pay attention. He gives a outline with everything that is going to be on the test and just follows the outline throughout the class. Also he is the biggest nerd that you will ever see. He loves streams so learn all about them and go talk to him about them and he will have your babies and you will live in a stream together
NICE GUY.WANTS EVERYONE TO LEARN AND KNOWLEDGE THE MATERIAL.GIVES VERY SMALL ASSIGHMENTS DURING CLASS AND CHECKS TO C IF EVERYONE IS DOING IT. GOTTA PRINT OUT 27 PAGE NOTE OUTLINE.BUT VERY USEFUL. MATERIAL ISN'T HARD IF U PAY ATTENTION. GIVES POP QUIZES UNEXPECTEDLY BUT QUITE EASY. I RECOMMEND. VERY NICE GUY AND LOVES WHAT HE DOES
Very interesting class and he's a very funny guy. Always energetic and worth taking
really nice guy, makes some jokes to keep people interested. has complimentary stories that are entertaining, hands you what you need to know for tests, will go over anything again, one out of class assignment that if you did it you got 100% on it.
come to class pay attention. look over notes right before class cuz he likes to give short pop quizzes at the beginning. look over class notes and outline (posted on class webpage) before tests and you'll do fine. if you do all that, nothing less than a b+
nice guy. def take this class. take notes and read class outline. pop quizzes are easy if you just look over notes right before. tests are all same format so even if you do bad on the first one, you can make it up. worst you will get is b+
I love learning about this kind of stuff and I know it can be kind of a boring subject but he kept it entertaining... You never get out early, so don't hope for it. You NEVER use the book. He provides you with all of the important material and you don't memorize useless stuff. Great teacher. I would take him again!
while he allows two missed classes, if you miss a class you will most likely miss a quiz and get a zero on it. some of his lectures were off topic and sometimes i felt as if he did not cover areas well, but totally emphasized them on the test. really nice guy and always open to a quick cram session right before a test
Such a nice guy! Go to class cause there are alot of pop quizzes, only a questions or 2 but still helps in the end. Tests are difficult, study alot and go to the study sessions if you can. Funny guy and loves the subject which helps you pay attention. No homework at all. Tests are 60% of grade. Took as a gen ed course but found it interesting.
He's a really nice guy and teacher. Anything you need to know is on the outline so don't waste your money on the book. He will drill a concept into your head for about 45 minutes with 5 different analogies, so class can get really boring. Go to class for the basic concepts, but bring a book. Tests are straight forward, no surprises.
What a nice guy. Im terrible at science but Marty was fun and goofy. You can tell he loves this stuff. I would strongly recommend him!
He is the man. The tests are a little hard for just a gen. ed. but if you have to take the class, he is the guy to do it with.
By far the best teacher I have had all year! He puts all of his test material in an outline and goes over everything in good detail in class. I recieved an A in this class and I would definitely take this professor again for any class! GET HIM!
Fun teacher. Very sincere. You can tell he loves what he does. He makes the class very interesting to attend & helps every student to the best of his abilities. I don't like science (my major is CJ) but he made this class likable. You'd be committing a crime by not taking his class lol. He's awesome!
looks like a nerdy Stephan Jenkins
Professor Marty is one of the greatest, coolest and bestest at Towson. I highly recommend him, even I am not doing well in the class, but he is extremely helpful. Always available during his office hours.
Great teacher, very helpful and easy to talk to. Really cares about knowing his students no matter how big the class is. Highly recommended. For GEOG 101, he says the 4th edition is fine to use.
Marty is EXTREMELY helpful. BUT the class is HARD for a Gen Ed.Class is not mandatory BUT he gives pop quizzes every other day. There are A LOT of pop quizzes that I recommend you study for because they will help you in the end.I would recommend pass/fail this class if you do not have an A by the midterm. If you hate C's like me, pass/fail GEO 101!
Pretty hard class for a Gen Ed. If you study for the tests, you should get at least a B. I studied hard and went to every class at got a B. Hard to get an A. The class is pretty easy but kinda boring. He tells you need the book but YOU DO NOT NEED IT! Take for a non-lab, easy.
The best college professor I have ever had, is extremely clear with what he expects from you and his lectures are one I look forward to, very funny and interesting
nicest guy! is willing to help you if you have questions just ask him or attend office hours..GO TO CLASS even though it's not mandatory because he gives random (but easy) quizzes. pretty funny guy in a nerdy way. study notes for tests and pay attention in class and you should be good.
awesome professor, tests are pretty difficult, follow the outline and pay attention and ull be good, lecture so attendance isnt mandatory...however he does mini pop quizzes to see if you are attending class. we take about 20 he keeps the top 10. ec at the end of the semester worth 4% points onto ur final grade. little boring but not an awful class
Best professor I've had so far. Nerdy but funny, relates topics to real world situations well. The tests are not hard if you pay attention in class (I took two not exactly sober and got As) and the in class mini quizzes are easy. Take this professor if you need a gen ed!
This guy loves what he does. I took for a gen ed and have learned a lot with him. 4 tests for the semestar and thats it. no papers no homework. He givs out a review guide which is pretty much the test. But make sure you study it! most people in class had to pass/fail it. Gives pop quizzes a lot but they arent bad as long as you actually go to class
Roberge isn't too bad. Quirky nice guy who loves physical geography. Has simple quizzes on most days to make sure you attend class. Can be confusing in lectures and really rambles. Most of the information for the tests is right off the outline he gives you for all the chapters. Not too bad for a gened if you study properly.
This guy is definitely worth taking, but only if you are planning on attending class and if you have an interest in geography. He LOVES what he does, his powerpoints are extremely visual (he has a lot of pictures on them, etc.) and he's VERY helpful. He's more than willing to explain anything to you. But go to class, or you will not do well.
Do not get the textbook, lectures and tests follow the syllabus. Tests come from notes and are pretty reasonable. Grading system is fair and extra credit oppurtunities were offered which help! Highly recommend.
He's so adorable and kind. Out of nearly 20 -pop- quizzes, only the top ten will be used. The exams are fairly easy if you go over your notes. Do not get the text book. A few opportunities for extra credit.
He's awesome and is really helpful. Easy science gen ed
Made a potentially boring subject very interesting! Material in the course was fairly easy. Computers were allowed in class. Book was never used
He is a perfect example of how a "teacher" should be. He enjoys his work and makes class entertaining. If you ask for help, he will give it.
Not an easy class for a gen ed but he is a very good teacher and offers a lot of help outside the classroom. Tries to make class fun although and has some funny jokes (are lot of them you will just laugh cuz you feel bad)
Takes forever to get to the point, grading is lenient at times and strict at others
Awesome teacher. Makes the class very simple and reviews for tests. Has extra credit opportunities.
So funny, charming, and nice. Tries to make it interesting, but tests are wayyyy harder than they need to be. Pretty tough for a gen ed.
He is a really great teacher. He is very nice and very passionate on the subject. His tests are harder than they need to be and his grading policy isn't that great but overall he was a good teacher. This is a tough gen ed course.
Hot teacher. Very cool and great. Learned a lot. He is very interested in the subject matter which made the class interesting. I would definitely recommend. All the girls think he is the cutest.
Great professor! Really funny and helpful! Worth taking ANY of his classes. He will take the time to help anyone if you ask. Fair grader as well.
Dr. Roberge is phenomenal and easily the best Geography teacher at Towson. I have had him for multiple courses from the 100 to 400 level. Extremely knowledgeable and fun but challenges you at the same time. Take him any chance you get.
Marty is ok. He spends all of class time going over the simplest of ideas and rambles about everything. Very boring and annoying at points. Wouldn't suggest taking him.
Marty is an angel. He is an excellent professor and goes out of his way to help everyone out. Love him.
He's a great professor, and is super friendly and nice. He tells the most randomly relevant stories which keep you interested in class. The exams don't have any surprises and the textbook is free online. I would definitely chose this class over any other professor.
8 reading assignments due once a week, 500 words. One test that you take and then he gives back to you to correct for full credit. One assignment going to visit a stream and write up a report. One assignment volunteering for something helping the environment. Such a nice teacher but sometimes can get off track. take him.
He is one of the best professors I've had. Tests are not easy but not hard either if you study. Print outline, it is extremely helpful. Didn't even read the textbook which is online. He tells stories to keep it interesting. 3 tests. Extra credit, takes only top 10 quizzes. Totally take him!
He's very sweet and nice, but I found that this class was hard. The tests were very hard and I would study for hours. Geology just isn't my thing. I would recommend him if you're willing to put it in the work.
Martin roberge is the biggest nerd in the school. It takes him 40 minutes to get to the point and 20 minutes to walk out of the class.
Dr. Roberge is really dumb. He takes forever to get to the point and his lectures have no relevance to the textbook or exams. You will fail this class or get a C. He has no idea how to lecture or give feedback. He says the weirdest things and he thinks they make sense. He tells the dumbest jokes and you laugh because you feel bad for him.
Oh Marty... The reading quizzes are very misleading when it comes to preparing for exams. Way too hard for a gen ed, even though I did learn a lot. It's just not a smart choice if you're looking to get by with an easy A to fill your gen ed requirements. Would recommend if you're into the topic, but otherwise avoid him.
Great guy. If you pay attention, you'll get an A. The tests are the same as the homework. We used the book once.
Soils was a fantastic class. He may get off topic sometimes, but he is super silly and had fun with the class. He posts a ton of study material for each test so it was easy to pass. Can't wait to have Marty again next semester!
Mr. Martin and his class is a joke. He's boring. Takes forever to get to the point. A good professor can teach you the course he takes a month, in just a day. He didn't grade assignments on time. Took him a week to post the final grades. Each labs are worth different points, and he isn't clear at all. He's just there just to kill time !
All of his lecture material is super clear and easy to understand. However, he expects you to submit solid work. He sets fair expectations. Just because he seems relaxed, don't try to turn in some nonsense; you'll get bad grades. I really enjoyed his class, and like the issues he explores. Sometimes lectures circle the airport a bit. Ask questions
He's a very nice guy and I really enjoyed his class. Some of the material covered was a bit challenging and so were the tests, but as long as you study and listen you will be fine. He really helps understanding of the material by the stories he tells and the way he explains it. Would want him as a professor again.
he's a great guy, he's always available to help and is willing to work with you about what you're struggling with. The class in general is difficult, but as long as you pay attention you should be fine. Pay attention to lectures and go to office hours, Professor Roberge is a very nice guy, would want a professor like him again!
He was always willing to help any student, and was very flexible. He made sure that everyone understood the material, and encouraged you to ask questions so you could do your best. Even though he had long lectures and geography isn't the most interesting subject, he tried to make it fun by telling jokes and stories. I would def take him again!!
Class is pretty boring, but he tries to make it interesting. Overall the class is pretty easy. If you do all the assignments and study you will get an A or B. He is very helpful and you can go to him with questions all the time because he makes himself available.
Hands down, Marty is the BEST teacher I have ever had! He is so understanding with peoples learning styles and is always willing to help students succeed. You could not ask for a funnier/smarter/down-to-earth professor. He is simply the best in all ways!
I absolutely LOVE Marty as a person. He's great, smart, and just a cute little nerdy dad that you can't help but love. HOWEVER, I found this class extremely difficult for a 101. I had to pass fail it and, thanks to the extra credit, did okay but it was my biggest stressor all year. I went to his office hours and he was very helpful.
Marty was absolutely hilarious in all of his lectures and he really make the material very easy to understand. The class itself is extremely easy and to make it even easier, he gives out 5 extremely easy points at the end of the semester towards you overall entire grade. I finished the class with a 92 but got a 97 due to the extra credit i recieved
Really nice guy who cares for his students. Has weekly online quizzes and in-class quizzes every so often. He has an outline for the class and powerpoints online, which cover the material that the exams are on. He goes through the powerpoints in class. He's really helpful and if you try, you will succeed.
Marty is a great guy, always in a laid back good mood. Lectures can get boring but other than that I have nothing bad to say. Took him for Soils (GEOG 319) and Environmental Geography (GEOG 410). For 319 there was no homework, 4 or 5 easy labs, and 3 tests. For 410, no midterm or final, just weekly assignments and a volunteer project. Take him!
My favorite teacher as a freshman. He is super funny and loves to keep class interesting by telling funny stories. If you are struggling, he is more than willing to help after class or during office hours. Overall a great teacher and I find everything he teaches very useful. He made me want to change my major. Also, PRINT the outline he provides!
Marty is the absolute best prof. I love that man so much. Reading questions are easy and if you show up to class and pay attention you can and will ace all the in class quizzes. You need to study for the tests, bc if you do you'll ace it. Marty does so much to help you out with your grade. Extra credit and drops bad quiz grades. 100% recommend him
Tips: Lectures are heavy so listen very well and keep taking notes. If the outline he gives you does not provide enough information to help study for tests, get a study partner or do your own research. Pop quizzes almost every class so skim notes before class starts. Take the extra credit to boost your grade. ALWAYS CHECK THE SYLLABUS.
Marty Roberge is the man. Historically I never enjoyed science, but Marty made it enjoyable and manageable. The textbook was online and free, and reading it isn't really required. Everything he assesses is taught in class and he'll gladly answer any questions you have. He's goofy and funny and truly cares about his material and his students.
Overall hes a super nice guy. He is very knowledgeable in his field and really encourages his students to utilize his office hours if they have questions. He is very responsive and will do his best to help you if you try. Hes pretty laid back, and made the text book free and online which is a life saver! I would highly recommend him.
Marty is a really cool guy and he makes the class enjoyable! If you follow the studdy guides and listen you'll do great.
Honestly the best professor I've had so far. Provides class notes for the whole semester, textbook is free and online, keeps up with posting grades, makes lectures interesting and funny, yet emphasizes that what he wants is for us utilize everything he gives us to do the best we can. He loves what he teaches and it shows.
he really cares about what he teaches and that shows. however, the class is lecture heavy and many students dont thrive in that environment.
The class notes could be a lot to memorize most times so it was a bit difficult. However if you can, got o his office hours and he'll definitely be of much help.
Marty is a great prof. I took him for geog 101 and the class had almost 80 students. For such a big class he really keeps everyone focused and listening. He uses powerpoints with lots of visuals and had a course outline with everything you need to know. He gives pop quizzes but he drops the lowest 4 so if you miss a class with a quiz it wont matter
Professor Marty is super nice and really cares about his students! He is also willing to go the extra mile and help students during office hours if you don't understand certain concepts. His class has 4 tests, reading assignments, and pop quizzes(but he takes your ten best scores). He also offers extra credit, which helps a lot. Overall, great guy!
Marty was a great professor! I enjoy Physical Geography, but for those who don't, he makes jokes to make the class fun and more interesting. He's also good at explaining topics whether they are big or small, which is important because on his tests there are details & USE THE COURSE OUTLINE LIKE HE TELLS YOU TO, IT'S GOLDEN! and do the extra credit!
He was an awesome professor for GEOG 101, the class was pretty easy as long as you looked at the study guide. He makes his own study guide that he gives to the class and it has all the information you need. He gives a lot of pop quizzes but they aren't that difficult. Overall, a pretty solid professor.
I only took this class because I needed a science elective, but ended up really enjoying it. Super easy pop quizzes and only the top 10 scores go towards your grade. Free online textbook. Study the materials and you'll pass the exams. Very passionate about what he teaches. Hilarious, and a great professor. Highly recommend taking his class.
He has good intentions but if youre just taking a core, pick a different professor. He goes off on tangents about his life and I cannot tell when hes teaching or telling a story. If you dont do well on test, you probably wont do well in class
Great professor wish he taught more classes!
Very very nice guy and cares about his students. However, in the middle of teaching he goes off on to stories and it becomes hard to decipher what is something you actually need to know for the tests. He offers extra credit and drops lowest quiz grades. Biggest advice is find study buddies!! Would take him again though if I had to.
This class was pretty laid back. There were three easy assignments & several reading questions throughout the semester, but everything had extremely clear instructions. As long as you follow them, you'll get an A. He sometimes did random quizzes to account for attendance & go towards your participation grade, but attendance itself wasn't mandatory
Professor Roberge is a great dude! Entertaining and funny. All you have to do is skim through the free textbook, show up to class, and pay attention. For tests, just make you sure you study for at least an hour. There are plenty of opportunities to bring up your grade, weekly quizzes, homework, and extra credit (all these assignments are very short
Prof. Marty is awesome! I loved the assignments we did in class, the readings rlly opened up my eyes, and I loved our class discussions. We didn't write any papers but we had weekly writing assignments which were cool. I didn't think he was a tough grader. He knows his stuff and is patient with the students, u can tell he rlly cares.
Ok, so I would like to know who recommended this teacher. He's a really nice lovable guy, but his quizzes are ridiculous. He gives out so many quizzes to the point it does more harm than good. Studied hours w/ a group of friends for the first exam hoping for an A and we all got a D. Nice guy, not a good teacher. Everyone I know in the class has a C
Awesome personality. Super relaxed, but don't walk all over him. Pay attention in lecture because a lot of the details are in what he says. Labs are easy but exams are pretty difficult. No textbook. Kind of boring sometimes but he will gladly re-explain things. Would take again.
He tells a lot of interesting stories that help you remember the concepts, and he asks if anyone has questions at the beginning of every class, and he's glad to answer as many as people have. He does do pop quizzes (top 10 of 14-ish) worth 1 point each at the beginning of about half the classes about content from the previous day.
He's a nice professor and the class isn't particularly difficult. However the first few exams the average test score was a 60% or lower. The questions are just a lot more in depth than how he teaches the concepts so make sure you use EVERY recourse available to you.
Marty is awesome. He's funny, he has a very clear plan for his courses and individual classes, and he teaches all the material in a super accessible and straightforward way. He gives easy quizzes, online assignments, and extra credit that all really boost your odds of getting a good grade. If you have the chance to take a class with him, do it :)
He's a great and laid back guy. He does like to give pop quizzes but they aren't that bad. His tests are in depth so be sure you know the material well. However, he does a great job at teaching and explaining stuff. Definitely is a good choice of a professor.
Highly recommend taking Marty, hes one of my favorite professors. Includes stories about his life to make class more interesting. Doesn't take attendance, but a good idea to go since he does not follow a textbook. Offers extra credit & review sessions. Final exam is not cumulative. Give pop quizzes but theyre easy & barely affect your grade.
Im going to try & keep this short but MARTY IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! Idk how his class was in person but online there are no tests AT ALL, no group projects, & NO ZOOM CLASS! He is very kind, understanding & organized. Most of the work are easy quizzes based off the lecture video he makes but you get 2 attempts at them. TAKE HIM PLEASE!
Professor Roberge is an awesome professor! This class was online due to COVID, but he was very chill. For a class that is twice a week, he only made us come to class once, and our ONLY assignments for the semester were USUALLY a weekly essay that is based off of an article, along with a small, VERY simple quiz. There is a volunteer assignment, too.
His lecture videos are clear and straight to the point- followed by small quizzes which are super easy. He responds in a timely manner to emails and offers help during his office hours. If you need to take this class or fulfill a core this is the professor you should take!
He goes over the material from the lecture video if you have any questions. Class is not mandatory. Quiz answers comes directly from lecture videos. This class is an easy A and hes a great professor.
Loves what he teaches, loves to interact with students, doesn't grade harshly at all, really just a good person and amazing professor. Always willing to accept late work.
He's so nice! Amazing professor and easy work! No final and in class was optional.
No attendance-taking/participation-measuring. Labs can be hands-on though. Very well organized course notes to outline class setup and main points. Lectures are funny and he thoroughly cares about students. Since pandemic times, he's mega cool guy and doesn't give midterms or finals. Quizzes/small weekly assignments accumulate on BB - open note.
Mr. Marty Roberge is an amazing professor and an even more wonderful man. I love him
Marty is a great professor! Would absolutely recommend this class.
What an amazing professor!! I was very hesitant to take this class but I am so glad I did. Professor Roberge was hands-down the best professor I have had at Towson. He is so understanding and helpful. Also, his shoe game is strong.
Great professor and even better taste in shoes. Would take again!
Dr. Roberge is a wonderful man and an even more wonderful professor. He is so funny and is very passionate with everything he teaches. He also has the BEST shoes and his fits are immaculate. Overall, 11/10, if i went to this school I would definitely take his class again.
This man Martin Roberge is actually the guy. You don't need to attend classes in person because the course is fully accessible online (he makes videos that you can follow and get the answers to quizzes from). There are no final or in person quizzes/exams. I haven't went to class since the beginning of this semmy and I have an A.
Roberge is the best professor I've had so far at Towson. If you are in the process of signing up for classes, do not hesitate. He posts his video lectures, and is super helpful. ALL tests/quizzes online. Amazing class format. 10000/10 would recommend.
Easily best professor I've had so far. He understands what we go through as college students and tries to make his class as stress free as possible. I never had to worry about anything in this class. All you have to do is answer the quiz questions and end of chapter question and you should be good. 10/10, highly recommend.
Marty is the best. He's very down to earth and has a great sense of humor. He's very understanding towards students and really knows his stuff. The quizzes and short answer essays are online and are reading based, typically from an article or interesting topic we later discuss in class. 100% recommend taking him.
Prof Marty was an amazing professor, very funny and engaging. He genuinely cares about his students and ensuring they learn the material. He's also very passionate about Geography. 4 exams, final is not cumulative. Chapter reading w/ reading questions and 6-10 question quizzes every week. He records the lectures so you can get caught up.
He's very nice and clearly shows that he cares about the topic. Attendance isn't mandatory which is nice, and all the weekly quizzes are online but they aren't too hard as long as you pay attention or watch the videos he posts every week. I definitely recommend you take him, the class is easy as long as you keep up with the work and the topics.
Great Prof. Super nice. Gives out weekly quizzes but they're online & not bad. Has lecture videos just in case you miss class which also help with the quizzes. He's super passionate about the topic and loves questions and genuinely wants to help his students. Exams are in depth but just study and you should be fine.
Professor Roberge is an engaging and understanding instructor. The class has weekly quizzes and a focus on key concepts, but with the help of resources like unstuck AI, it's manageable.
Professor Roberge has the energy of an outdoorsy middle-aged white dad, which comes with a plethora of dad jokes, but also an amazing amount of knowledge and passion about what he teaches. His lectures are very informative, and the major assignments for the class are pretty easy, yet interactive and informative. He's great, and so is his class!
Marty is hilarious and clearly cares for his students! He emphasizes going to office hours and emailing him with any questions. There are weekly quizzes to complete that aren't hard at all, and you get two attempts (he takes the highest grade). There's a free online textbook. Exams aren't super hard, just study the outline and you'll be fine!
Did one pop quiz at the beginning of the semester and then decided against doing them. Around 2-4 mc quizzes (4-10 questions) each week online very easy. 4 tests all in person most mc and easy short answer questions. Hilarious and makes the lectures enjoyable. Explains concepts very clearly and cares about his students. Loved going to his class.
Prof. Roberge is great. The tests are easy if you study for them. It's possible to get good grades on the tests if you skip class, but he goes way more in-depth about the slides in class. Slides are posted online and there are BB quizzes every week with multiple attempts. The content is kinda boring but it's a good class for science core. 4 exams.
PLEASE TAKE MARTY! This guy is the best professor ever, he is so sweet and genuinely LOVES what he does. His assignments are easy and lectures are very informative, helpful, and enjoyable. Tests aren't hard if you study for like a day or two, and has tons of resources to help you (ppts, course outline, office hours). I will be taking him again!!
