Prof Varon is awesome. He covers material thoroughly, and makes sure everyone understands. He gives quizzes which come directly from the homework. If you show up and do the work he assigns, you will have no problem getting an A or B. Great teacher, super nice guy.

Prof Varon is a great teacher. He is patient with the class, gives great examples of applied concepts and covers material in lectures on tests. He is also very pleasant and easy going but you do have to do the work to pass.

Just show up and you should get a C. Put some effort into it and it's an easy B. He likes to give good grades and is very helpful. Quizzes from book - goes over them in class. Show up and that's a 100% test grade right there. It's difficult subject matter at times, but he really does make it understandable. Still boring subject though :)

I took 1101 and 1102. His class is extremely easy if you attend. He goes over all the homework questions and puts some of them on the test with different numbers. He uses the ?s at the end of the chapters as class quizzes. Great professor!

He is a really nice man. He would help you anyway he could. BUT, VERY VERY BORING!!! I had to surf the internet almost the whole class just so I could stay awake, so then I would have to go home and teach myself. If you like a professor who is nice, easy, but exremely boring then he is the way to go!

I'm not sure there could be an easier teacher. He explains everything clearly, just fight to stay awake and pay attention in class. I'd recommend attending all classes b/c he may end up giving you a pop quiz (sign your name on a sheet) or answers to the upcoming test. Great accounting teacher!!!

TAKE THIS CLASS!! Varon is awesome. Attendence is not madatory. I literally went to class 5 times, did absolutely no HW and non of the madatory quizzes and made a B!!! He goes over the test answer for answer the class before the test so if you attend those you'll ace the test! AWESOME teacher, and will work with you on any issues.

He is an awesome professor. Easy - yes, but he does a great job teaching the material. I actually wish he would buckle down on the cheating on tests (people get tests early from other classes) and take attendance. His stories are funny and teaching style memorable there's no reason to skip. Show up, pay attention, get a B easily.

Yes, this class is an easy grade, BUT he is still a good teacher. By spelling out what to learn for the exam, he takes the stress out of the tests and makes it easier to concentrate on actually learning and enjoying the material, not just memorizing for a test. I would HIGHLY recommend him for anyone who doesn't understand accounting very well.

It is an absolute pleasure to be in his class. He does very detailed exam reviews, all you have to do is follow that and your exams will be a breeze. You still have to work, but at least you know what will be on the exam. He is also an excellent teacher. You must take him. He is always always positive - that is so incredible and refershing.

Great Professor. He goes over concepts under every one understand, which is great for people that haven't done any accounting but gets a boring for those that have. He makes jokes, updates you on football scores, goes over the test and throws out questions that are confusing and really listens to the class.

He is extremely fair and ACTUALLY wants to make sure that everyone does well which is a rarity among teachers these days. Make sure you go to class especially on days leading up to the tests because this is when he does his review sessions which are extremely helpful.

Accounting is not the most popular class but I think anybody taking Martin Varon's class could look forward to coming to class. Prof Varon was so helpful, he stayed with me and some other classmates for almost 3 hours after class to help us with the Homework. If you have to take accounting 2100 or 2200 take him. I wouldnt take anyone else unless i had too.

He is very personable and approachable. He loves baseball and incorporates it into his lectures. The session before each test he holds a review session for the test and outlines almost word for word the questions on the test. He also emails the notes he creates during each session right after class. I would definitely recommend him.

Professor Varon is a great teacher with extensive knowledge of the subject. Some of the comments suggest that he is too easy and you do not learn anything in his class. I completely disagree. I made an A in his class and have a very good understanding of financial accounting now. His baseball jokes get a bit old though.

I took him for ACCT 2100 and BLAW 2200 and received an A in both. The only draw back to taking him twice is the redundancy of the jokes. Very clear, concise and to the point. If he is done early he will let you leave early. He curves tests, but you have to go to class the day after the test in order to get the curve.

Dr. Varon is a good professor, I would say the only problem with this class is that he didn't seem very organized. I think it was his first time teaching 3100, but he took the quizzes from Hermanson's class for our's. Our first test was MC, but the next two are essay, with some work problems. He goes over everything for the test. Don't skip review!

Hands down my favorite professor. He is super kind and caring and goes above and beyond to help his students do well. I did not need another accounting credit, but decided to take his class as an elective because I had taken him before and really liked him. If you have the opportunity, take any class you can with Professor Varon!

Curves tests quite a bit to the extent where your grade will increase by a letter grade or two. Test review before test date saves lives!!! Goes over every question. Professor Varon is the best professor I've had in a while. I failed the first test because, as a hospitality major I don't understand accounting, he drops your lowest test grade if you can make 15 points higher than the failing grade. He wants his students to pass and succeed. It's a shame he isn't teaching 2200

I went into this class thinking I liked Accounting - I was mistaken, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't take this class again. Prof. Varon's study guides are extremely helpful but lectures can be confusing at times. He TRIES hard to be entertaining. Homework is required and through connect. Reading the book was VERY HELPFUL for me.

He is one of my favorite professors in my three years at KSU. He cares about how his students do in the class and really enjoys teaching. He goes over the tests in detail before the actual test so if you show up, you should be more than fine for the exams. Final IS cummulative, but more focused on the last few chapters. Great professor. If you're an accounting major I suggest going to class everyday, but if you're not just go on the days with test reviews. You don't need the book but you do need the access code because of the homework.

I loved this class. He teaches in a very straightforward way and will help you out with the material or homework if you need it. Before each test he does a "preview" which is him going over the test with a few slight changes. Definitely go to class as the material can be confusing, but if you do you'll do very well. I highly recommend him.

Marty was the bomb. It is a relatively hard course, but he spells it all out. I love his humor and his teaching style.

Professor Varon was great! 3100 was harder, so be prepared to study. I finished with a C, but I blame it on my hectic work schedule. Make sure to keep up/complete the assignments in Connect and I found the emailed the class notes from the professor to be helpful to prepare for tests/exams. I wish he was teaching Intermediate II!

Accounting isn't the easiest class in the school, but Martin Varon is the best teacher you can have. I'm so glad I took him. I put in the time of studying, and he put in his time of teaching immaculately! He explains everything perfect to the T! He is must take teacher!

What a great professor! Can be a tad scattered but is willing to slow down/ give individual help. Provides review days for all tests and will drop an abnormally low test score. THIS MAN IS AN ANGEL! Literally the best professor I've had in college. He knows that sometimes students have things come up and works with you! If you can't make an exam, he will reschedule for you to take it at another time. He basically goes over every exam the day before, so there are no surprises at all! If you have the choice to take him DO!

Professor V is the best professor ever! He is a more than fair professor who truly cares for his students. There are 3 exams and he goes over most of the problems the day before the exam. If you show up and take notes, you'll get an A. If you have the chance to take him, DO IT!

If you are looking to take an accounting class, take Professor Varon. While not all the assignments are easy, the professor himself will actively be looking over you grade. If you ever need help, he is more than willing to provide it. Before every exam he has reviews where he basically goes over the whole test. Rare case of caring and great prof!

You don't have to show up to 1 class and you can make an A. He is the easiest professor I've had by far, and he knows what he talks about. He basically has a conversation with the class for an hour each class period, and the midterm and final are online (open book and you take it at your house). He's easy and a great guy, take him.

I took Professor Varon last semester for Acct 2100 and he was awesome! 2 tests and a final exam. The 2 days before a test, he goes over each test question to make sure you are prepared. He's SO helpful when you are having difficulty understanding material. He is very knowledgeable on the subject. You will learn lots. DEF take this class!!

Wasn't a big fan at first, he's really sweet but the course schedule was all over the place and he lectures using excel so it can be confusing when you review the notes. Quizzes and homework are due in connect and before a test he does an exact review of what you'll see on the exam.

He is by far my favorite professor at KSU. Not only because his tests are so easy, but also because he is very entertaining when you go to class. I had professor Varon for 2 accounting classes. He cares about his students, but sometimes he's not great at explaining the material. However, he will go over practice test questions before each test and it really helps. He notices when you attend class and understand it all, but perhaps just don't test well (like me). Definitely a solid choice.

He's really caring. His lectures can be slow sometimes, but theyre good. A lot of people don't show up for class, but I always enjoyed listening to his lectures. There are only 4 tests and he allows you a full cheat sheet. Connect assignments are due every week or so, but you are able to complete them in advance if you want. also 2 easy papers.

I really enjoyed Professor Varon. Having this class online was a little overwhelming at times because he is a little out of touch w/ technology. He uploaded lecture videos for every chapter. If you watch his videos, take notes, & do your hw on Connect, you will be fine. He is not a hard professor AT ALL.

The BEST professor I have ever taken. Knowledgeable and relates to real-world examples. He reminds me of a little old grandfather. Very caring. I would bring dinner to class every day and he would be concerned if it did not bring my dinner and would let me leave to go to the sandwich shop. If he's available, take him! This class demand a little more planing than 2100, but he is out of the way helpful with anything u need to succeed in the class. To me it was about to make sure I understood everything the class needed me to do. Get that straight since the beginning. He is very motivational.

He was a cool professor. I didnt go to classes except twice. 4 Exams, Final, 3 easy writing assignments only 150 words required, connect HW. This class is so easy and he is a good professor. After you take the final you get your final grade posted on owl exp. the next day. I cant stress enough how easy this class is!

Not a lot of work and participation isnt mandatory which is great. Over the tests are open note but are mainly made up of his own questions which involve you to understand the topic to answer.

His lectures are interesting and he incorporated many real-life examples. Really knowledgeable about laws. Homeworks are long, but you can find information in the Smartbook text. Tests are open notes, though are long. 3 easy papers. He checks up on his students. I took his class during COVID time, so attendance isn't mandatory.

He is honestly the best professor I have ever had. I took him for BLAW2200 and now for ACCT3100. I recommend him to anyone needing to take any of the classes he teaches. He has experience working in the field and tells funny stories/jokes. Has exam reviews before each exam with practice questions.

A good choice for ACCT 3200. He is funny and likes to really connect with his students. Will repeat any of the material if anybody has questions. Your grade includes 4 tests (open book), SB and homework for each chapter, a tax memo and a tax return project. Really nice guy who likes to crack jokes.

Midterm, final, and group project are each worth 30% of grade, with participation being worth 10. Most of our class skipped regularly. His lectures were interesting and he was hilarious and knowledgeable but the late class time 8-9:15p definitely didn't help with attendance. Class is definitely worth taking as an acct major.

Professor Varon is quite literally the best professor I have ever had. He makes class fun, tells hilarious jokes, and is probably the only professor to ever make me excited for classes. If you don't take him, you're crazy. Thanks, Professor Varon - you rock!

4 open note tests, 3 EASY writing assignments, 14 Smartbook assignments, and a final exam. His lectures are very well organized we did 3 chapters in 3 weeks (one chapter every week) and then had a test. He's a really nice and understanding professor and knows everything about law. Highly recommend.

Do yourself a favor and take this class! Prof Varon is just the sweetest guy. His lectures are easy to follow and has a ton real life case stories and the're always super interesting. He even gives case examples that are recent and that happened in our area. All lectures have pre written notes that are super detailed and every test is open book!!!

All I have to say is that he is the best professor that I have ever had. This class is so easy because he makes it easy. EVERYTHING is open book/note. You do not have to come to class to get through this class, but I went everyday because he was so funny and I enjoyed his stories!

Take him. Open-note tests and smartbooks. The papers only require at least 150 words. Easy grader. Attendance isn't mandatory. He's really nice and I would definitely take him for more classes if I could.

Very easy A. I only went to class twice and got an A. Grade consists of Smartbook assignments, three 150 word writing assignments, and 5 exams including the cumulative final. Everything was open note, open book. Although you dont really need to attend class, he does tell good stories if you do come and want to listen.

Great professor, attendance is optional and all work is open note/open book.

This Accounting class is one of the easiest classes that I have taken at KSU!

Goes over exams question by question before each test, so you know what to expect, and has great lectures!

100% would take again. Easiest class ever he is very lenient with extensions and is not a harsh grader. Everything is online with no lockdown.

Class code should be ACCT4800 but he took the class over for Dana so this is a general review. He's very kind, very funny, and basically makes difficult concepts in class a cakewalk.

Prof. Varon is a great guy! Teaches many classes. I took tax last semester and fraud and B Val this semester. BVal is a little tricky though. Midterm and final (30% each), group project (30%), and participation (10%). Final was difficult! Definitely need the textbook- free online pdf available!

Good lecturer (fun stories) and totally open book tests. The final is harder but the other tests cushion it. Two big assignments (6% each) not long but a little difficult and do not have very clear instructions but professor is very approachable if you have questions. Will also go over the assignments in class when assigned but watch the details.

Easy A and the professor is so sweet. All exams are online and open note. Only three homeworks and all are super easy. Great class overall.

Martin is literally the GOAT no questions asked. Great lectures covers all material that will be on exams and quizzes in class. Super funny able to keep you engaged. I would pick him up for any class you possibly can.

Professor Varon's class was nice. It was all open book and notes, but there wasn't really any study guidance for the tests and the final exam study guide was pretty vague. The memo project was fine but the FORM 1040 Return project was quite lengthy and we didn't go over the schedules very much. It isn't a hard class, just be prepared to read a lot!

Easy A class with a super sweet professor. All exams are open-note and there's minimal work. Unstuck study was a game-changer for preparing. Definitely recommend taking this class if you can.

Super easy class, and the Professor is such a sweet man, but I haven't learned a thing. Everything is open book open note and can be easily found online. The class is so laid back. The professor has a lot of funny stories he applies to lessons. Also has exam reviews where we go over every single question on there! Easy, but haven't learned much.

Super easy class to take during Summer! 2 exams, a group presentation, and attendance grade. He will go over each question on the exam beforehand and it is open book, open Internet. Attendance is you show up this one day for the guest speaker and you get full marks. Group project may seem like a lot, but he is very willing to help. Great guy!

Very cool guy, funny, makes tax interesting as possible. Def would take again. Also very understanding and accomodating. He ties in other accounting classes to this which makes it interesting and easier to understand

Honestly Mr. Varon is very caring and wants you to do well. While attendance isn't mandatory, it's what got me through the class. He will repeat himself a bit but he gives hints for the tests and walks through problems in class.

This is my third time taking Marty, he's the best! As a graduating senior, he's definitely one of the highlights of my college career. Like all his classes, everything is open book, open notes, open internet. All exams and quizzes are online, but the final is in person. Easy A! Can't ask for a sweeter and kinder professor

Very easy going! He literally tells what the questions will be for every test! You can make this an online class, but I would recommend attending the lectures. He is funny and breaks down these difficult concepts. He is understanding and begs us to ask questions. He expects effort and will be more gracious if you show it.
