She is a good teacher and is sweet. She teaches off the book and gives essays/projects based on what you learned. I recommend her.
Very easy class to take, she grades fairly....Easy A, I recommend her!
She is actually a great professor. If you fail her class, it is because you wanted to. The class is quite easy just make sure you get the book and pay attention in class.
You are going to have to do service learning in group settings. No individual grades always in groups. Do not take unless you want to count on other people on your grade.
This is an excellent Professor, very down to earth and helpful, I got a B in her class because of the irresponsable students iin my group! That's the only thing I dont like about this class, the group work, you have work with others for some of your grades! Very easy class
Professor Adams is a very nice lady, she is able to help you and answer any questions you have. I loved her class because it was very interactive and really help a lot of students to improve when public speaking on the presentations. I really recommend her class, just do all the assignments and you can get an "A"
She actually helped me make better speeches overall. I recommend her, but she does get awkward at times. Make sure to do all her quizzes and 2 out of the 3 speeches and you'll get minimum of a C if you put no effort
Very good Professor and it's easy to pass her class. I got an A this semester. As long as you do the discussion and quizzes that helps boost your grade up a lot. I highly recommend her and she very people oriented.
She's an excellent professor. If you do your work on time, don't miss any classes, you'll probably get an A or at least a B. Class is not hard at all. I was very nervous to take this class but I'm glad I did. I was very lucky to have her as a teacher. Highly Recommended! Just remember to not be late to class!
Easy A only if you do your work
If you are not prepared she gets a little aggitated but nontheless she is a great professor. She is clear, helpful, and funny. Attendance is important in her class. You will work in groups, which isn't so bad. Excellent professor.
Marva Adams is a great professor and person. Class is never boring and she makes her students feel comfortable because she understands the fear people have for public speaking. Yes you have to work in groups, which can get difficult, but it's with reason. Take her class, do the assignments, and it's an easy A.
I thought this class was going to be a breeze and it was! The biggest complaint is her attitude. It's hard to be excited when you're treated like a middle school student. She has no patience and loves to tell you to shut up during questions. She never explains things thoroughly. Look at her ratings in Broward College.
this lady has soooo much attitude. I did every single assignment but didn't turn in one paper in the entire semester and she failed me. Service learning is 25 hours and everything is group oriented so its hard for everyone to meet up.the class wasn't hard but attendance is mandatory and you cant miss assignments. seriously do every single thing.
Worst professor ever. Has a really bad attitude. Do not take her.
This professor is SO EASY! You have like 4 speeches. 1 a short one about a quote and the rest are group projects. She shows movies and doesn't lecture. She makes class fun and is so chill! There is service learning but she's so helpful. I would forget I had work to do because of how easy this class is. Passed with over 100% Take her!
THIS IS A GREAT PROFESSOR! EASY CLASS IF YOU WANNA GET AN A TAKE HER YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. SOME SPEECHES IN GROUP WHICH ARE REALLY EASY AND TESTS COME DIRECTLY FROM THE BOOK JUST MEMORIZE THE TERMS. DO THE COMMUNITY HOURS !!!!! THATS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING AND YOU WILL GET AN A! NOT REALLY STRICT ABOUT ATTENDANCE OR TARDIES BUT YOU NEED TO GO!
She is a great professor! You will do a couple of speeches in the class but she is very fair when it comes to grading. I loved her class. She does like to talk A LOT but its cool and the class is fun. You learn a lot of new things. If your going to take class SPC1017 I definitely suggest you take it with her. JUST DO ALL YOU WORK AND YOU GET AN A !
Professor Adams is the best speech professor, she is really nice and she always helps you when you ask for help, she is not a tough grader at all, she really understands if you get nervous talking in front of others so she doesn't hold it against you, her assignments are not that hard, you can surely pass
she puts you into groups and that is your group for the whole semester. I HATE that! She is very serious and get offended easily but over all, she is not a tough grader and she does understand when there is a problem and will really try her best to help you out.
She is a kind lady and a good pick for this speech course. She will assign you to a group from the start based on your major. You'll most likely do 2-3 speeches on your own and then the rest of the work comes from you and your group's presentations. There are no midterms or finals. Do your work and most importantly, participate!
I had Ms. Adams for this semester and her class was the hardest class that I had, because of three group projects. She selects who is going to be your group members, and if you are lucky enough to get people that help you with the projects then is a good class. However, I was left alone to do the projects by myself. There is community work hours.
Adams was such a sweet professor, she gives very little class assignments but your main focus must be group projects. There are about 3, they are not difficult, just tedious. Still a great class and doing the hours was pretty fun since my group chose the animal shelter :D
Professor Adams was a great teacher lsst semester. She gives you chances for extra credit and is a VERY LENIENT GRADER. You will go up to give a speech a few times but shes really understanding. GROUP PROJECTS ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE CLASS. If you have a good group youll definitely pass. There is some long assignments to turn in though.
To many group projects, choose wisely when choosing group memebrs.
Marva Adams, her intentions are in the right place, she is very passtionate in her lectures and tries to interact. The only real problem I had with the course was group work; the group your put into is the group you have for the rest of the course. If they do the work, unlike my group, your going to be fine. If not expect to be working alone.
This class was so annoying, I am currently taking her and I can not wait to be done! She is very sarcastic, has a bad attitude and pretends to be sensitive to your issues, but she gives you these faces that you know she can careless. Group projects were so annoying! and her speech grading was like a miracle if you pleased her. I would not take her
Good teacher you will be in a specific group all semester. She only gave out 1 test. A lot of group presentations and not a whole lot of time between them. Shes an easy grader and doesn't give too much homework. YOU MUST SHOW UP FOR PRESENTATIONS!!! Gives random impromptu speeches so beware.
Professor Adams is a good teacher but she can be overly sarcastic at times. You will have about 3 group projects throughout the course and they are the most important part of your grade. Make sure you choose people that will do their part. You'll also have to do 15 service hours and a presentation on it. We only had 1 test and a few paper critiques
I do not recommend this professor, speeches are not worth most of your grade for the class and are all done in groups. Online assignments that don't have much to do with speech will be evaluated harshly and you can't miss any assignments at all or prepare to fail the class.. Lectures aren't related to the course but you can't miss class.
This woman gives out way too many projects. I passed with a B, knowing I deserved an A, since I was always the main one to work the most in my group and that showed. I didn't enjoy this class at all, she expects way too much out of you for a speech class. I understand you have to talk but she pushes it. If you have a chance, pick another professor
Not one of my favorites. She can have a bit of an attitude. Also, is very set in her "traditional" views so sometimes can make slick remarks. Make sure you pick a good group because that's your group for the whole semester, and everything is in group projects. I didn't do service learning and still ended up with a B. Not my favorite teacher.
I want my time back! This class was such a MASSIVE LET DOWN! Boring class, one debate session, GROUP WORK, attitude, sarcastic. I asked if we are going to need the textbook, her reply "What do you think" a Simple yes or no would've been super great! Wasted my money renting that book which I didn't even open! Stay away from her! She recorded me!
The class itself is not hard, the only bad thing is that everything is in groups and there are projects all semester so if you have a bad group, then that determines the class for you. However, she is very nice and understanding
Group work, service learning, and a couple of speeches. Nice teacher but tough
If you are NOT a fan of GROUP PROJECTS then STAY AWAY! This class is based off of group projects. That is your group for the whole semester and she will NOT change you. Do not wait until the last minute to make your presentations, make sure you follow her directions and dress professionally. You will have to present no way around it. Loved her!
If you have to take speech, take her class! She helps you understand the material and she's funny. You'll be doing more group projects than on your own, but she makes them fun. Obviously participation is a must, it's speech. Service learning is also required, but trust me, you will not regret taking this course.
She's Awesome if you need speech choose her with your eyes closed
She's alright.
She is ok
Professor Adams is one of the greatest professors I have ever had, she's witty and sweet. The only reason why I gave her a 2 for difficulty is because 95% of the semester you will be working in groups and that's the most difficult part; dealing with stubborn, lazy people. The work itself is easy, probably could've worked more efficiently alone.
You have to work and do presentations in groups. Beware of your group members they will drop the class or not do anything and you are stuck doing all the work.
If your group members dont want to work as they should, you will pay the consequences.
Had the misfortune of taking her twice, I do not recommend you take her at all. Her class is packed with work, lots of group projects, pointless discussions, quizzes which she doesn't teach for, you have to buy the book but won't even use it... couple of essays. Didn't learn anything and requires 15 hours of service learning which was pointless.
Take her! I had to take two speech classes and I took her for both. Do her assignments and she will give you an A. Easy class.
I loved professor Adams! This was one of my first college courses and I loved the experience. She is super charismatic and really makes the class fun. Some quizzes but if youve study, theyre easy. Also, group presentations, but she gives amazing feedback so just do what youre supposed to and youll pass!
This was my second time taking Professor Adams for a speech class. She is absolutely amazing and will help with any problems you may need. Very easy class. Don't need the book if someone in your group has it.
Everything is pretty much in groups. We only had 1 individual presentation. Sometimes she grades it individual and sometimes as an overall group grade. I personally did not like her or the class, but I am biased because I don't like presenting or working in groups. She is a good person and always responds to emails.
Not a very helpful professor. We had a speech to do and she said that it was our fault and she did not even post the announcement video like the first time. Not only that, she sent us an email saying that she was going to give us like 4 more days due to the "widespread memory lapse" when she was the first onwethat forgot about it.
First virtual class I have taken and many misunderstandings as well as miscommunication. The work is pretty straight forward but the professor was hard to reach and did not pity when it came to technical difficulties. If you can't submit it. You get a zero. Once there is no communication in a virtual class you are set to fail.
Professor Adams is nice and she encourages students to not fear public speaking, she helps everyone to have a good time doing group projects and presenting.
Very easy class if your actually read the book and listen to her advice. Worst part is working in groups! Advice when doing the first personal presentation look at the good presenters and try to be in their group. Slackers are the worst! You do not need the text book she puts up PowerPoint. Grades pretty quickly
Don't buy the book! You'll only use it like once.
she's not helpful at all. I took her online, i had a groupchat w classmates which helped MORE than she did. She makes things more complicated than they need to b. she made us buy the code to then say the website didnt work n we needed to upload our videos to youtube instead. She will give 0 n not care. she takes forevever to grade. dont take her
Do not recommend this professor. Sadly she was of no help whatsoever, she made you buy a book and code at the beginning of the class and she did not know how to use the system... so we basically wasted our money. She has no mercy and gives flat out ZEROS to any assignment that is not done according to her standards, not even some credit . DoNotTAKE
I took this class virtual and it was very easy. You have a new assignment every week, they are very simple thorough. Only had to record 3 videos. For me I didnt need the code or the book for this class.
Shes amazing. Super caring and genuine. Theres only 3 speeches throughout the course, 2 of which is with your group. It was honestly a fun class and you really get friendly with everyone. She also gives lots of chances and time to make sure you pass and get your assignments done. Being shy, I would take this course this course again with her.
She was pretty boring, and I didn't really learn anything new. If you want a somewhat easy A, then you're fine.
This professor is very strict and group project-heavy, but she is nice and understanding. She really does make you work for your grade. Your presentations have to reach her criteria and you really have to work for it. Service learning and reflection papers are also required. I did enjoy this class and she taught me a lot about public speaking.
She is very clear and fair but she takes her time to respond to emails and messages. Her lectures are kind of frustrating because she can be a little demanding.
She definitely cares about student grades and tries to be fair. She wants us all to feel genuinely comfortable in her class and when doing speeches! There is a Movement project your group will have to do so make sure to do it together and try to present well because its a huge portion of your grade.
I took Professor Adams class online and I can say her class was pretty easy. She gives you time to complete the work & understands that we have other professor's work to do. I recommend you to take her! 10/10!!
A great human being.
I have never seen a professor give students so many chances to turn things in. I was shocked with how caring and understanding she is. She pushed back due dates as multiple things happened during this pandemic. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the online course is a bit unorganized. Other than that she was great. Easy A.
this professor just showed up the fist day and never again, never answer emails
The power points are all you need to pass the quizzes and 2 non-proctored exams. Do the discussions, they are easy and equal 25% of the grade. For the speeches if you make a half decent investigation and reach the time she ask for, you are golden. If you make a mistake, keep going. Read from your screen instead of cards.
Professor Adams is passionate about teaching and cares about her students and wants you to do well. Just complete the work by the due date, or work ahead and you should have no problem making an A. Make sure to complete all the assignments and follow the instructions for the various speeches, and email her if you have any questions.
Easiest A ever in online class.
clear grading criteria, 10 easy quizzes from the book, discussion posts, few simple papers + group project. had her online and gave us chance after chance to turn in work and even extended deadlines. so sweet and hilarious. so caring she emailed me after we turned in everything so i could fix an assignment. take her for an easy A you wont regret it
Easy class but the professor assigned work that was due at the same time as the speeches we were working on. Never mentions any assignment so if you don't constantly check Blackboard, your grade will suffer. She's funny but she often ignores and talks over you when you try to ask her anything). Also makes you buy the textbook when it's hardly used.
Pros:kind, reachable, works w/ students Cons: lots of work(can be done in 3 weeks w/ effort), no lectures/class is only about assignments/how to do Extra: don't buy textbook gives powerpoint on chapters, quiz(10)/test(2) not proctored/open book, discussion boards+replies, speeches(3) one is a group project, essays
This was an easy class, however, you are just doing group work the whole semester and I personally don't like that. She grades in group while presenting so if someone in your group does not do well you won't either. There are easy quizzes based on the book. She puts everything up since the beginning so you can basically do everything in a week.
the class was easy but it was really bad, a group presentation that was awful and lots of hw like LOTS, all of it is given at the beginning so you could do them at any time but she won't remind you of anything due, don't buy the book, we never used it. Be careful with deadlines, she doesnt give second chances and will leave you on read.
No lectures, just group projects and online assingments. She puts all the online stuff from the beginning so you can finish it relatively quick. Once you select your group you can't get out and it's done at the beginning so you don't really know anyone. Presentations, you'll be doing lots of those, don't miss any and don't forget about online!
This class was very informational. Loved prof Bozeman! 3 speeches that helped me with Public speaking. Not a heavy grader. Would take a class with them again.
Definitely recommend! We only had 2 individual speeches which were pretty simple to complete, a few non-proctored quizzes based on the textbook, and writing assignments. All the word was open on the first day so you can work ahead. She was very kind as well and made sure you passed her class.
Took her for summer b semester. Great teacher! Only 2 speeches, and all assignments were posted in advance so you can complete them early. Just do the work and you will pass.
If any problems with her that are serious, she can be reported to Department of Education. They can place fines, probation, and suspension to her license.
It is a very time consuming class. You have a weekly discussion post and have to respond to 2 other classmates 150 words each response as well as other discussions with 300 word responses. You have 4-5 presentations 2 of them being group presentations so pray for a good group because you're stuck with them the entirety of the course.
Took this professor back in 2022. I would not recommend her to anyone. Her communication was almost to none existent. She took 2 months to finally email be back on a very important question I had. You have to teach yourself for the majority of this course. All exams are proctored.
Pretty easy and straightforward class. The professor is very kind with her grading. Presentations (total 4) hold a big percentage of your grade so make sure to complete and be in class to present. She gives you a lot of time to complete the work.
She was an amazing professor! I recommend her!
Professor Bozeman is kind of just an average professor, her class isn't incredibly well taught but its not a bad option either, if shes your last option id say take her but beware of the projects, they aren't difficult projects persay but just be prepared to write a bit, like maximum 3 pages which isnt even a lot but can be tedious
TAKE HER 10/10, HER ASSIGNMENTS ARE EXTREMELY EASY I SWEAR! I TOOK HER ONLINE 6 WEEK COURSE FOR SUMMER B, TOOK HER SUPER LAST MINUTE. SHE WAS WORTH IT!!!!
shes was a very nice professor, took her for summer B as a quick speech class and it was great. many assignments so you can bump up your grade, and the speeches are easy too. if you do the assignments, you'll guarantee pass. only thing ill say is the quizzes are somewhat hard because she doesnt teach most of the things on the quizzes
She doing tooo much like chill b oh and they give you no time at all
SHE DOES NOTHING JUST SETS ON THE DESK ALL CLASS
Easy work. Discussions, be on them! There are multiple, but they are super easy and short. Have formal clothing for presentation also she pairs you into one group for the whole course so get used to them.Overall shes nice and easy maybe a little sassy but nothing bad.Shes caring so she checks up one you if somethings wrong.take her youll be fine.
this class has lots of work along speeches that require you to type on paper format along with five minutes or better recordings. waits til the last minute to add extra instructions to the assignments after the required information was put together and ready to present. by far this is the worst course I have had
She is so sweet. Good professor.
