Definitely old school! He makes you work for your grade and notes; which is good thing. Great teaching skills and very understanding. Also, he is very compromising when it comes building up your grade. It was a great class, intense, but it was worth it. Also, when it come to getting guest speakers, he has top connection!

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!! He is the nicest professor that I have met. He is extremely helpful and understanding. He has a great sense of humour! His exams are easy, only if you study. No tricks, no hidden questions,no reading between the lines. It truly amazes me that after all his years of teaching,he still is just as passionate as he was when he started.

Fabulous professor- I learned so much more than I thought I would, and he has really interesting guest speakers- he's very connected! He's really supportive and encouraging, very accessible, happy to discuss matters outside of class or office hours. Very knowledgeable. Studying is mandatory- exams are intense. He is awesome!

He is such a nice man, very helpful and always willing to go the extra mile to help students succeed. Lots of notes to take every class which is tiring and boring at times but he does have interesting guest speakers which helps to break up the pattern a bit. Focuses on the textbook information a lot. Hard tests, easy marker.

he tries to make it interesting through guest speakers and videos but fails because he reads off slides. super disorganized! the exams were hard but he gives you a chance to make up for bad marks. overall okay but the exams really screwed me over.

Even though I had a prior knowledge of the holocaust before taking Prof. Hershorns "Politics of the Holocaust", I felt that I learned something new every class. He pretty much centers the class around the textbook so reading that gets you the best chance of succeeding. What I enjoyed is his integration of guest speakers, videos, and even a trip to

A very kind, well informed man who listens to students individual concerns with the subject matter, and also does not shy away from giving life advice when approached to do so.

A well informed and very kind man. To the student who knows why they are there, his lectures are well informed and packed with information; also graced with the presence of several heavy hitting guest speakers. If you try your best, he will assist you in every way possible - from course advice to life advice. It was a pleasure to be in his class.

Professor Hershorn is a splendid professor. He is dedicated, clear, focused, and extremely helpful. I have taken two classes with him: POL398D & POl213. The classes were well prepared & presented. The environment encouraged students to discuss their point of views. I would recommend his class to any serious student. I shall remember him fondly.

Terrible prof!I honestly can't believe how positive the reviews are.Should not be teaching at the university level; High school, maybe! The only good thing about him is that he's an easy grader. Lectures are useless and unstructured. If all you care about is an easy grade take him!If you actually care about learning something, there are better profs.

Dr. Hershorn just wrote me a letter of recommendation so I wanted to remember him here. I took his class in 2011. He is an amazing professor - informed, engaging, interesting, and a very helpful and kind person, like a mentor to me. I will never forget his support, guidance, and help. I loved his class and I think he's awesome!
