he's the best for this subject. he cares about the students and is very energetic in teaching the subject.

This professor works! He writes notes/examples on the board from class start to class end...but if you show up to class, take your notes and study the example questions he gives...even a non-accounting lover can pass his class. He is great!

Mr. Williams writes EVERYTHING on the board. Take good notes and you WILL pass his class. True, he does talk fast but if you ask, he will slow down to make sure you understand. Highly recommend him for this course to non-accounting majors.

Took this class online. Hardest class ever. A lot of memorization required. Professor was helpful though. Quiz every week. Tests every month. One tax project at the end of semester and another for extra credit. Let's you retake old quizzes. Curves.

He is a master on the subject. The class is not hard but don't take it online because it's more complexed. If you can, borrow the notes from someone taking it online, it will really help you.

Be on your "A" game because Williams flies like a bullet through the course. He is tough but stick with it. He curves tests between 5 and 13 points on average.

This is my second time taking him online. Structured the same exact way as ACC 4301. I highly, highly, highly recommend him! You WILL pass this class no matter what your quiz/test grades are. Trust me!

This was my 2nd class with Mr. Williams and he is still the best! The guy really knows what he teaches and he wants you to know it also. He does still go fast, but you will learn if you want to learn. MORE THAN FAIR TO STUDENTS.

First off, individual income tax is not easy. That's the government's fault, not Prof. Williams. I took this online, which makes it even harder, but Prof. Williams understands this and curves the final grade. He is quick to provide answers to questions, and even did a face to face review for the final. It's better if you take intmdt. acc first.

He is wonderful! I took him for both tax classes and I would definitely recommed him. He teaches and makes sure you understand. There are a lot of concepts and rules to remember but overall it is a good class. Read the chapters and review using your notes. Questions comes from notes and his tests are exactly as it is on his review sheet. Luck!

He's great! Very helpful and really tries to relate to his students. I took him online and loved how he almost immediately responded to all my questions and concerns. The subject matter is difficult but Mr. Williams tries to help his students.

I took this class online. It is alot of material to learn and understand. Weekly quizes are given and there are 3 exams and a final. There is a tax problem due at the end of the semester and he gives an additional tax problem for extra credit. Do not drop this course if you fail alot of the quizes/tests! Just stick with it and do all work.

He was a nice teacher and he will help with the best. Study from the quizzez or read the textbook and will do good on the test.....goodluck to you guys

He is a great professor for Individual, and Corporate Taxation. He is extremely helpful. If you want to learn take him. But, don’t just expect to get an A without devoting some time and effort.

You have to be writing "Fast and Furious" in his class LOL (that's what he says, and its so true). He really knows his stuff, very impressive. His exams are very hard, but even if you fail all of them do not drop his class, he knows who you are and if he sees that you've made an effort in his class he will give you a big curve, you won't regret it

I took Prof. Williams for both Individual and Corporate Taxation and he is awesome! The level of knowledge this man possesses on the subjects is truly admirable. His tests are very difficult, but he always curves. Even if you are doing poorly in the class, you are still very likely to pass because he is very generous with his curving!

Took this class online. He is not as hard. Quizzes every week for each chapter, but open book. The tests are not derrived from his quizzes so you do have to read the book and know the problems. Project is difficult but he'll give you credit as long as you try. Even if you think you're failing, you'll pass.

Corporate taxation.If you have a tax wired mind, this class may be fun and interesting for you.For me however, it was a stretch. Alot of reading, like Individual taxation.Taken online means weekly quizzes and online tests.A tax project which isn't much work, just time.Quizzes are from the book tests are from lecture notes and the BOLD problems.

Very fast! You have to really read the book and work the problems. But if you have any questions the professor is extremely helpful. If you try you will pass. I learned ALOT!!!

Taking this course online. There are quizzes every week for every chapter. Exams are difficult, seems like they derive from quiz test banks, and compiles of T/F,MC&Problems. Very fast paced. ALOT of material to absorb!!! I would recommend taking this class F2F. Requires you to fill out tax forms. Lots of tax rules/laws to know.

Oh My Goddd! This class is rock. A lot of material to cover and tax rule/law to remember but I LOVE IT. I learn a lot from this course. I think i can do my own tax return now. This class is challenged but at the end I am managed. I made A. LOVE ITTT!

Quality of the education you receive is in huge part a function of what your teacher expects of you. And Dr. Williams' expectation is that u will be ready to be a certified accountant. He's way better than any other Tax instructor at UHD because he expect more of his students. If you want a UT/UH education at UHD prices, then take Williams.

Dr.Williams is really a good professor. He is really professional. Although the concepts and exam are difficult, he will curve the grade. He wants all of him students pass.

Online is self taught, but when I didn't understand something Dr. Williams responded to my emails promptly & explained things. He was very helpful & wanted us to know the material. You do have to set aside your Saturdays to do Exams, but you have to be willing to make school a priority!

Great professor but he teaches really fast. Class consists of 3 test, final and tax return. I missed 4 classes and did horrible on a test; don't miss or you will be lost. Overall he is a good professor;he tells you what will be on the exam. Got an A in class. Very helpful, stays after class for questions and gives bonus pts for participation.

Very challenging class, but Prof. Williams was extremely helpful with explaining things. I took this online, but went to his night class to listen in which was extremely helpful. Class is definitely challenging, but all the information you will learn will be essential as well as beneficial to your career as an Accountant. Professor is very knowledgeable,really helpful,answers all questions, and goes out his way to ensure your success. Hard work and diligence does goes a long way his class.

The class itself is lengthy. Mr. Marvin helped the best he could for a summer online class. Gave curves and extra credit options. Will be taking him in class next semester to see if there is a difference.

Took him online for both 4301 and 4302. Tough material, but he curves a lot and is helpful as can be for an online course. Buy the publisher's study guide- it will get you a 100 on every quiz, wink wink...

If you don't do your homework ahead of class you are screwed! He is very knowledgeable and helpful if you visit him via office. The material itself is just a lot.

Took this class online in Summer II. It is ALOT of work! There is a quiz for every chapter, 3 tests then the final, and a tax project. Prof Williams offers an in person review before each test take advantage of it!!! He knows his stuff and couldn't more helpful through emails or will meet during office hours.

Very difficult class, but it is not supposed to be easy. You have to read, read, and re-read! It was an overload of information and a quiz for every chapter with 5 exams including final. Alot of material, so DO NOT procrastinate. He does curve, but you have to work to get high grade as possible if you want an A. Very helpful tho.

Material is not hard but the matter is there is lots of things, (rules, limits, credit rates etc.) to remember. Dr. Williams is very helpful.

I took this class in Summer and it is VERY time consuming!! Open book chapter quizzes and you will probably never receive over an 75%. Prof Williams will certainly work with you, but you MUST give it your full effort. Chances are you will be failing the entire semester, but he will curve if you try. I had to study approx 5-6 hrs on each chapter.

Probably the most difficult class you will take unless you are a tax expert. Professor Williams most likely understands this as well and will help you pass no matter how bad you do on your exams. Don't be afraid to take him.

This was an extremely difficult class. Reminds me why I'm not a tax accountant. Professor definitly gives you plenty of opportunity to pass. I was extremely worried, but I'm sure my extra credit bumped me up. I'm glad I didnt decide to drop this class. Take him, ask for help, study, ready study read.

Dr. Williams is wonderful! I hate tax but he made it seem so easy. I made C's on the first two exams and ended up with an A in the class. He curves and gives plenty of chances for extra credit. All you have to do is show him you're making an effort and he'll make sure you pass. I wish he taught more courses, I would take him again!

Great Professor. Corporate Tax was a difficult class for me. But professor understands that it isn't an easy course. I took him online, but he goes out of his way to make sure you understand material. He is always available and tries to help you understand the material. He is one of the few good professors who teaches very well.

Reason I am giving a high rating is because of the curve at the end of the semester. As long as your test grades are around the class average you get a 'B' for that test. Most of the Hmwk answers can be found online. The section instructor just goes over the homework problems with you in class. attendance, participation all factor into the curve

I took this class in the summer and I would recommend taking it in the summer then regular semester. Tests are easy as long as you know how to do every problem in the textbook. There is no extra credit.

I took his summer class and really liked it. The handwriting can be hard to understand (especially when he writes smaller) but the good thing is that he explains things very well is more than open to answering questions. I would definitely recommend this professor. Also, the tests are great!

He is best of the best. All you need to do entire of the semester is working hard. Show him you study hard for every single test and you are serious about taking this class. Not just for fun or credit. You take it to learn and apply. He won't promise to give you extra credit but you earn it through your performance.

Took it online and there are 4 proctored exams. The material is hard for this class and it requires you to read the book. He gives examples and small cases for each chapter so you can practice. No homework. If you do all the examples from the review, you'll do fine on the exams. Very nice professor. You earn extra credit from doing a small project.

Three exams and two tax returns for grades. Prof Williams really knows the material, but the lectures contain a TON of information, so take notes and work the practice problems. Tests are taken directly from the same type of problems reviewed in tax. If you actively participate, he will provide extra credit.

He talks very fast but his tests match the problems worked on in class. Put in the work & ask lots of questions. 3 tests, 2 tax projects, & a case study.

While some students (myself included) didn't find a lot of similarities between the problems worked on in class and the questions on the test, the concepts remained the same. The practice tests he gives are useful but not identical to the actual exams. His review sessions were VERY helpful, and he is a fair grader.

Second time taking him. He wants all his students to succeed. Make sure you show up and put an effort into his class. Ask questions and reach out if you need any help.

Marvin J. Williams is a great professor keep in mind he does provide a good amount of information and it's up to you to fully understand and study. Also, his test is not easy.

Great professor, took a mini winter session. He was great at communication, all assignments on cengage. Easy class.

This is not an easy class at all. But the professor is there to answer any question. Make sure you HAVE TIME for it and attend all the lectures. The homeworks is time consuming. Professor is great! He is generous on grading the homeworks. 4 exams, 1 group project, and homeworks on Cengage.

Omg this class was so hard but I love this professor! He teaches extremely well but you have to put in the work. Textbook is required for the assignment and you have to study well. There are quizzes that are similar to the tests that consists of 20 t/f and math equations. Pay attention especially if you are taking a 8-week course.

10/10 Would take again! Great professor and teaching strategies. He makes the material easy to understand. If you pay close attention to the notes and the problems from the book it's an easy A!

The class is tough as nails and the tests might make you cry, but as long as you continue to participate you will not fail.

Took him for the 8-weeks class and it was a little challenging. I recommend taking him for a full term if you can because you will have exams constantly. Homework is on cengage, exams are on lockdown browser w/ camera, tax project and attendance is mandatory. Overall he isn't a bad professor but the workload is tough!
