She is a very good teacher. She explains everything in detail, very knowledgable with a great sense of humor to go with it. Very fair on tests. If you cannot pass her class then there is no hope.

Good professor. Tests are pretty straight forward sometimes little curves thrown in there. But all in all pretty good class.

Mrs. Benson is very fun and entertaining. Her tests are clear, but she can throw hard questions. It's a slightly difficult class (Trigonometry), as she gives quite a bit of homework...but it's for the better and you learn a lot from her.

ms.benson is great math teacher. she works with everyone and if you mess up she will show you where you mistake is and have you go back and fix the problem. there is a lot of class involvement which makes class go by fast. she makes math easy and fun.

Took her Intermediate Algebra class. The subject was hard for me. Got an A, though, with much work. Teacher was great; willing to give extra help and explains things well. Nice lady.

Very Very helpful. Speaks clearly. She makes algebra fun because of her sense of humour; however, she breezes through sections & the class can B hard at times. If intermediate alg was hard 4 U then u might want to consider some1 easier but since she is dedicated to her students I wouldn't rule her out.

Very good. Highly reccomend her. Very relaxed. If you study and do the practice problems, then you will get an A!!!! Good choice!

She uses class participation. If you do the homework, she is an A or B for you. She is one of the best. You do have to apply yourself.

This was an extremely challenging class for me. Although she is funny and upbeat, alot of times the material is not presented in an understandable way. Her test are sometimes tricky and hard but she does give lots of assignments to help make up for things. Overall I would say she is a good teacher, but you will have to apply yourself.

She's silly, goofy also funny. She usually makes things interesting. She does well but sometime she gives a lot of homework, which is a good thing for practice, just sorta "ARG!" at times. Good teacher overall though.

She is the best! She keeps you awake, just pay attention and keep up and you will do great! highly recommended espacially for math haters! just make sure you can remember some basic algebra concepts, if not be sure to ask early on! She will answer any and all questions!

Wonderful teacher! I don't like math at all but i loved taking Statistics with her. She is absolutely hilarious! She is very straighforward with the material and will help if you need any! Take her if you need any math class.

She seemed fun, but her test was hard. It's hard to make a good grade in her class. I liked her, but I had hard time with her class although my other math grades are all A's.

Highly recommend her. She doesn't treat you like a high schooler & that is what makes it a "college" class. Tests are just like the take home quizzes and book HW, so as long as you do them, you'll get an A.

shes so funny, there was never a dull day with her. College algebra was very fast paced, but i remembered most of it from algebra 2 in high school. Shes a good teacher & answers questions well. The quizes in the middle of the semester are obnoxious though. tests are sort of hard. overall i liked her.

Benson is a great teacher. She is funny and tells you just what you need to know. I got sick mid semester and she worked with me to find a D session so I wouldn't fail for the semester. Awesome teacher!

Mrs. Benson is hilarious and has a sly sense of humor. She knows how to translate her smart to her students and is good at explaining difficult concepts. She appears to be the only good math teacher at PJC and is worth taking for a strong background in Calculus.

At first, I erally didn't like Mary Benson. I thought she was odd and crass.I then realized that she is an excellent educator and is super helpful. I would recommend her.

Mrs. Benson is the best. I'm not a math person at all, yet with her I made an A in pre cal, and a B in Cal. I've had her for all of my maths at PJC...she's great! I recommend her to everyone!

I highly recommend Prof. Benson for Calc 1. She was very entertaining and helpful. Her lectures really couldn't make Calc any easier to learn - and I am avg. at math! Her chap. schedule is realistic and she stays on task. Periodic HW assignments and quizzes supplement test grades. Questions are always answered (nicely). Great prof.

She's okay. She's very nice, but I'm an auditory learner and she does more showing than telling (why) so it was a little more difficult (than, for example the sub teacher). She also has NO MERCY on giving xtra credit or anything - which is fair, but not very helpful if you struggle at first an need a good grade...

Mrs. Benson is goofy, but a good (nothing special) Math instructor. I made a B in her class and I worked for every bit of it. She does not play favorites and will call on the student to answer questions. If you don't like being called on don't take her class....

Benson is a GREAT professor. She's very interactive with the class, and speaks on a level to where everyone understands. I was in a class with people of different learning levels, and she appealed to each of us! HIGHLY recommended!

Benson is a great teacher. I took her over the summer. She assigns homework every night, but if you do it, you will know your stuff. She drops some of your worst homeworks and will replace your lowest test grade with your final. She calls on people constantly, but she does it to make sure you aren't lost. She won't make you feel stupid. TAKE HER!!

Allows a formula sheet on every test but the first one. If you take good notes and go see her when your struggling you should get an A!

She is funny, and makes class ammusing, but is a hard teacher. I get A's and the rare B, but ending up with a D+ in her class and have to retake it. I was her tests that killed me. I did the homework and got extra help, but her tests were brutal. So, if you are a math person, Go For It!! If not I would find a different teacher.

Awesome professor. Knows material very well and gives great examples. She makes the class fun and very positve. She does call on students for answers verbally or on chalkboard, but who cares, she doesn't make you feel stupid if you don't know the answer, but helps you through it.Takes the extra time if u need it and is very helpful. Highly recom.

Mrs. Benson is the greatest math teacher I've experienced at PSC. She's funny, adorable, helpful, and insanely good at what she does. I already took her for precal and am now in Cal 1 and next semester I'll take her for cal 2. She is a wonderful teacher and there is no regrets when taking her.

She's a fantastic teacher. She loved helping with questions. We ended class early on many occasions and she took the remaining time to help anyone with homework or other questions. I took her class in 6 weeks, but I learned the material as well as I would have a full semester. She's likes to make jokes to take peoples' mind off math. She's the best

Benson is a phenomenal teacher. She explains statistics is the most simple way possible. I was so scared to take stats because i never understood it in HS but she definitely made it a breeze. Oh and the best part is, you get to make your own CHEAT SHEET for EVERY test except the first one, and you can staple them all together to use on the final!

She allows cheat sheets for all the tests but the first. Her tests are way easier than the homework, so do your homework and you are golden.

Mrs. Benson is very nice and as a good sense of humor. She is nice and approachable for help before or after class. Do the homework on the syllabus and ask questions and you'll be sure to pass!

Mrs. Benson is only an OK teacher. She tries to be funny, but fails miserably. She may appear to be nice at first, but she came off as rude to me. Her tests are fairly challenging, and she gives A LOT of assignments and pop quizzes. She LOVES calling out people to answer questions, and sometimes may make a show out of it.

She was an okay teacher, nothing special. But in College Algebra, her test count for 90% of our grade! Absolutely no extra credit, but she does let you replace your lowest test score with your final.

I have struggled with math, she made sure if you had an issue she would help. She was always available when I needed extra help and her office is always open if you need her. Great Teacher!

Mrs. Benson is the best teacher I've ever had. If I ever had any questions about homework or test questions I got wrong, I could just go to her office and she would show me exactly what to do. She's hilarious, which helped keeped me focused. She tells you exactly what she wants on the first day, you just have to do it.

Benson is super nice, sticks to her office hours and is totally willing to work with you. Grading is cleary outline, Tests are 90 and homework is 10% of your grade. Doesn't make you memorize formulas because she gives them to you on the test. Homework and pop quizes. She taught us a few things that contradicted the textbook but besides pretty okay.

I was nervous about taking Stats and have been holding it off for as long as possible because I am terrible at word problems and percentage equations, etc. but Benson made it easy to learn. If you don't like showing up to class, you won't pass. You must show up to class to learn the material because she explains and teaches it the best.
