Worst teacher ever!! doesn´t know how to teach and everybody i've talked to has given her a bad evaluation but she is still teaching...just shows you u should not take the time to fill out those evaluations!

This women likes cats. Lectures are not taught clearly, but the book is worse. She gets angry easily and you have to raise your hand with her to silence others, like you're in preschool.

Great woman, who has a wonderful heart. Bottom line is that the class is a beast. It is Statistics. Anyone who complains about the class material being difficult should have known better NOT to register for the class! Blame the material, not the teacher.

Horrible teacher...makes an interesting subject very boring. She simply can't teach. I do not know why she is still at IU. If I was another faculty member at IU, I would be embarrased to be associated with her! Horrible Woman!

Mary Beth is underestimated. Stats is a hard class and a lot of lazy people take it out on her. She's actually a very understanding and caring woman. The class is intense, but most people get B's at the end anyway.

Not a very good teacher. The tests are very difficult and she gives a lot of busy work. However she gives extra credit for answering questions in class so make sure to go.

Take it in the summer. Supposedly it is like night and day when compared to during the semester. She was very willing to meet and spend time helping ensure that I fully understood topics in office hours, which some professors are not willing or able to do. I learned a lot and had a positive experience in the class with her. Give her a break!

Difficult class,difficult exams,but LOTS of extra credit opportuinities!I got 55/100in my first exam,59/75 on 2nd,76/100 on 3rd, 140/200 on finals-my avg 73%, but I still ended up with a B+(86%) because of the million extra credit points. Difficult to get them, have to be alert in class. My advice- attend ALL classes,labs,do warmups and cooldowns.

hahaha mary beth is a pre-school teacher that loves cats and moo-moos. she doesnt clarify anything at all, dont even bother going to class it justs comfuses you. the texts are worded exactly like she talks, which is girbirsh. the best advice is to get someones old tests and study those because there will be some questions that are verbatim.

Words cannot describe how horrible this professor is. Go to class for the bonus points, but try not to listen too hard. If you weren't confused before you showed up to class, she'll make sure you are by the time you leave.

Awesome prof! Wow! This was by far the easiest class I've ever had, thanks to MB!! Not only does she teach everything that she tests you on, but she hands out everything you need for the class during the first week, so you don't have to buy any big, bulk books! She can be a bit distracting while walking around (incredibly hot). P.S. J/K!

Class is rediculous. It's so unorganized. There are 3 websites,a course workbook,class notes,a lab manual, and a textbook. Lab has nothing to do with rest of class. Just as hard to find out where you need to look for info as it is to learn it. She does not teach in class, just does problems. It's not helpful. TAKE K310! This class does you no good

I don't want to be a hater, but try to avoid her as best as you can. The materials are already complicated enough, but she in fact makes them extra complicated and confusing. Warm-up & Cool-down (online assignments0 everyday before class and after class. Group meeting every week throughout the semester.

Worse teacher I have ever had. She makes you feel so dumb for trying to participate in class by telling you you're wrong and you're basically not smart. Also group work in the class is awful too! Basically, you have to teach yourself. Test are hard. Try taking k310 I hear that's easier and it works for the business school pre rec.

The worst professor I have ever had. She puts students down for answering questions, puts problems on tests she never went over, assumes everyone is less intelligent than her, hard to work with, and not nice during office hours. Avoid this class at all costs, I don't know if they still offer k310 but take it if they do!

Mary Beth is a very very nice person. If you go to office hours and are respectful, she will give you the exact same treatment and help you with whatever you need. Quiz bowl points are amazing. Even after you are out of her class she is willing to help you. A very nice person who got a bad rap from unhappy students.

Subject is not that hard, but seriously this lady could not have taught it any worse, tons of group activities and a group project that are seriously pointless for learning the material, I would say take another prof, but she has a monopoly on the class, also very condescending to students, and seriously deserves no respect, because she gives none.

Mary Beth is the kind of woman who monopolizes all Bus/Econ stats classes at IU (no other profs), personally publishes the (incomprehensible) textbook(s) and then pushes an additional $100 dollar McGraw Hill (for whom she once worked as a consultant) text on students, then expects them to teach themselves out of it. What exactly is she paid to do?

Mary Beth Camp, popularly referred to her students as Mary Death Camp, is just not a good professor. She does not teach much all semester and then when you are supposed to know everything for the final project you are unable to put it together. Tests are impossible and curved enormously to make up for her lack of teaching ability.

Mary Elizabeth Camp is the worst teacher I have ever had in my entire life. She does not teach. Her class is ridiculously complicated, including several extra components along with about 6 books you have to buy. Its a joke that business majors attending the Kelley School have to take a class such as this.

Mary Camp's employment and her relationship to the Kelley School of Business is an embarrassment to the school and to the students. At no point in her misdirected and disorganized class did I learn a single thing that I did not learn on my own. She has only worsened my understanding of statistics. Worst professor I have ecountered at IU.

I'm currently studying for the final and just realized that I learned more in my one credit Beginner Bowling Class then I did in Mary Beth Camp's E370 class. I can't believe Kelley makes students waste their time on this class. You'd probably get a higher grade blindly guessing on every question on the test rather than actually studying.

Right now I'm trying to study for the final which is impossible to do. The last test was so bad a curve wouldn't help. She just gave everyone 100% and people are still doing bad in the class. Never ask a question, she will tear into you like a lion into a gazelle.

Worst teacher at Indiana University and/or associated with the prestigious Kelley School of Business. Bitter, uninformative, and overall annoyance towards students... Throwing pens at kids and yelling at imaginary people that were supposedly talking was more important than teaching us the material. I learned a lot more from my foreign Lab A.I.

wihout doubt this class is worthless and She is a horrible professor. I have learned absolutely nothing in this class, but for anyone who has to take it in the future don't worry about getting a decent grade. I have done absolutely horrible all semester and I am still going to get a C at the worst. This class sucks but anyone can get through it.

Hates students, helpful one on one but otherwise has no interest in making sure students understand. take math k310, apparently much easier and don't buy the textbook, a lot of busy work which helps improve your grade despite failing all tests

People are harsh on her because they don't want to try hard. If you come into this class expecting a hard statistics class, you'll do well. Also, how many of the people who rated her hard when into see her for office hours, or got help from TAs? If you're looking for a class that takes no studying - this sure as hell isn't it. Use office hours.

She rambles on for fifty minutes twice a week. Every class consists of her asking for answers that no one knows, so every just guesses and she tells you how wrong you are. Awesome!

E370 was not that bad when looking back. Of course it was not easy, but what do you expect? I worked hard and did well. I wish I wasn't tricked into doing things like spending $120 on a textbook I didn't need (there is an overload of stuff given to you). The funniest day was when she threw a marker at somebody for reading the paper/talking!

Mixed feelings about Camp but generally horrible. The only reason to go to class is for a few extra credit points. Doesn't teach anything in class at all. AIs are horrible too. Only good thing is if you go to her office hours she really is helpful. Class is extremely hard but you can get a C or better. Don't buy the text book.

you guys are all noobs. this class is an easy A. just have to all all the unnecessary tedious work. warmups prelab quizzes homework project...etc. this class is timeconsuming and a waste of time.

The class isn't as terrible as people make it out to be. You can get a 68 and still get a C. I hate econ and still got a B in this class. With that said, there are two workbooks, a lab session, homework sites, etc. She isn't helpful and does put down students who don't give answers she wants. On the other hand, she gives a lot of extra credit.

OK so don't buy the text book first of all..you don't need it. all you need is the lesson and lab manuals. Also, do the homework, and other easy assignments. This class really isn't very hard.. I got there were five tests I got 1 F, 1 D, and 3 C's and still got a B+ in the class. There is so much extra credit that you can do very well.

Class is very obnoxious with all the busy work, but in the end it is very easy to get an A. An incredible amount of extra credit is available. Do all the busy work assigments. I only got above a 75 on one test and still got an A. She seems like a mean person in lecture, but is apparently a nice lady.

This was the hardest class I've ever taken if I could go back I would have picked a staff teacher since their grading distribution was so much better. My friend had a staff E370 teacher and had and A but couldn't get more than 5 out of 25 on my practice exam that I got 16 out of 25 on. I don't like her shes a f...... c...

Mary Beth Camp while ostensibly harmless is in all likelihood clinically insane. The sad thing is that this class should be a favorite prerequisite for Kelley students, however her inane assignments and lectures ruin the experience. I survived by purchasing baked goods from Ballantine Cafe before class and focusing on those. Not a difficult class

I had the impression coming into this class that she was a "b*tch" but found that she's actually pretty nice. The class requires a lot of time and effort. Except for the last couple sections, the class topics are relatively simple.

Not only was this one of the easiest classes I have taken, Camp was really generous and timely in her responses to questions students had. Anytime I would email her, I would have a response within the hour. She was also really polite when talking to her one on one. I wouldnt know from class cause I never went...but still got an A.

Go to class, earn quiz bowl points, and take every extra credit opportunity you can. I did understand much throughout the class, but I still pulled off an A- in the class. Do NOT talk or play on your phone/computer during lectures.

Not a bad class although a ton of work. Do every extra credit you can and go to office hours. Honestly did not know anything most of the semester, failed 3 out of 6 tests and got an A-. You have to go to class to get extra credit. If you can deal with a lot busy work, its going to be an easy A.

Worst teaching style on any professor I've had! Warmups are due twice a week and even though they're only 8 questions long, it will take like 2 hours to do them and if you're lucky you'll get 6 out of the 8 correct. Just a bad professor all the way around.

Attend all classes and labs. It is true that Prof. Camp assumes you've already read all reading assignments. In class, she explains more than basic materials using pre-study assignments called warm-up quiz. If you visit her office hours, you will learn a lot. Participation can change your grade.

Just took her test and it wasn't bad. Wish I had studied some different things but it wasn't awful. Nothing she taught helped me on the test at all. I would have been just as good to study the sample tests and the book. She is not a good teacher at all. All you have to do is be less stupid than half the other people and rely on the MONSTER curve.

Even though the class structure is ridiculous, people complain way too much about this class. It's true that there is quite a bit of busy work, but if you actually take the time to do it, your grade will still be high even if you don't do well on the tests. There is A LOT of bonus. I know someone with 115% in this class, it's not hard to make an A.

Lots of work, but manageable if you spend some time on a timely manner. I visited her office hours almost every week. I wished she'd had explained materials as she did in office hours. Anyway, scores other than tests (like HW and extra credits) are really important for your grade. Although I was not 80/90% student, I still got a good one (A-).

terrible professor, nice lady in office hours. Class is primarily based on extra credit which is controlled by her crazy crew of TA's. The TA you get will determine your grade as they control the extra credit and some hand it out like candy, while others like to watch you squirm and struggle. avoid at all costs. wors. kelley. prereq. ever.

Rules To Follow To Pass E370: Take FULL advantage of extra credit. Do not assume that any of the 4 textbooks other than the Lab Manual will be of any use whatsoever. Do not assume Camp's lectures will help you understand the material. Do not assume your lab instructor will speak comprehensible English. Remember WarmUps are worth 20% of your grade.

Professor Camp teaches challenging material, which is why so many students do not like the course. Professor Camp is extremely helpful during office hours. She helped me turn my D into an A! The workbook is very good (not the textbook). Make sure you keep up with the homework. I would recommend her any day.

The only thing this woman needs to lose more than some weight is her JOB. Absolutely abysmal teacher. I haven't had worse in all my years of schooling. Has absolutely NO business being employed by this university or making profit off her USELESS textbook. She may have a PhD but she is incompetent when it comes to helping students learn.

In Lectures, she is probably the most awful teacher I have ever had. Apparently, in office hours she does a great job explaining material. Most students, however, do not have the luxury of attending office hours regularly. Therefore, it is of little use to those students who cannot attend. I would recommend taking alternative stats courses highly.

Awful awful awful awful. The fact that she is the only professor who teaches this class is absurd. Poor teaching methods and ridiculous tests.

Professor Camp's material is difficult enough by itself, and it is not the least bit elucidated by her teaching. She fails to use practical examples in class, and her tests are needlessly hard. I seriously recommend taking an alternative stats course.

E-370: A statistics class where you must know excel commands during a scantron test with no computers. A class where you learn absolutely nothing but how to make note cards. A class where the teacher gives out evaluations during little 5...You would not give this out during little 5 unless Mary Beth knows her class is a joke and is afraid

The mean score on the last test was a 54. The highest grade was an 83. Why? Nobody in the class learns anything useful, this class is filled with busy work and teach with the IQ level of a box of sand, and the weight of a hippopotamus. The class material is difficult, but the design of the class is pure confusion. This class is a disgrace to IU

Stupidest class I've taken at IU. The tests are unreasonably hard where nearly everyone fails. The only way students get As or Bs is the unbelievable amount of extra credit available. Any course that offers 100 points extra credit clearly has a problem with it. Also, you don't know your grade at all throughout the semester which sucks!

Worst teacher I've had at IU. This class teaches you absolutely nothing. Any and all learning is done on your own at home. You come to class and go over transparencies she has put up, which she goes through too fast to take notes on. The foreign AI's have awful english, so thats no help either

This class is tough but can be done. You absolutely have to stay on top of evetry single aspect of the class. I used this online review thing called tutoring zone to help me out for the exams. it was great.

Mary Beth is the nicest teacher I have had at IU. The people that rate her poorly do not go to class. She is extremely willing to help outside of class and even holds 2 hour review sessions every friday which few take advantage of. If you go to class and keep up with the material you should be fine. Take advantage of her reviews!

Easy Class, average is B, B+. Lecture is useless, but she is very helpful in office hours or via email. Do CL section (40 free point). Don't Count on a grade boost from attendance or the team project. Your AI/lab coach will probably have a chinese accent.

Course is tough but separates the weak; if you don't keep up with the work you have no chance. Lecture is completely worthless without being prepared. Minor knowledge of excel pays dividends. Mary Beth loves stats way too much and your TA will not speak english. Entire grade scale is curved, extra credit and "free points" available.

This was easily my least favorite class. It is painful to listen to her and understand her in class and the T.A's will likely not speak well English. Do not take this course or a course taught by her unless you have to.

It is a very good class if you get all the extra credit. There are many opportunites to get extra credit for this class. Lecture exams are hard but you can always cover that by doing well on lab exams, which are relatively easy. Participation in class is not important but practice drill probelm is really important for this class.

I had horrible expectations after reading most of the reviews on here, but Professor Camp really isn't that bad at all. Her lectures can be a little unclear at times, but overall she does a pretty good job and is always willing to help you outside of class. If you study and take the class seriously, you'll pass.

Horrible professor. If you are a Business major AVOID!!! Does not explain the material at all, basically have to teach yourself and when it comes to the exams just hope you guess right! Lab section isn't much better since they are usually international students and can't explain the material to you clearly.

Attending her lectures only confused me about the material. You must teach yourself all of the material, and the lab exams are terrible because the teaching assistants speak very limited English. They will simply show you the answer (usually a chart/graph), and tell you to somehow reproduce it via Excel. E370 = the worst class,with worse teachers.

The professor cannot clearly explain course material. This is the worst stats course I've ever taken. The material is not as challenging as she makes it seem, so attending lecture is only confusing; however, the tests are made with as poor quality as her teaching. Faculty at IU told me that they are trying to remove her from her teaching position.

She, and I quote, said "Well I cant show my work on the practice exams because it would take me too long to do." Also, there were two questions on her exam that had no correct answer. After that I lost respect for her. Her teaching is very unclear and the in-class portion she teaches is useless due to Excel. Good person, bad teacher. Don't take.

I was a junior taking this course and I have taken some hard classes but this was the worst one of them all. Lectures seem to be a waste of time because she quickly goes through the lecture and makes you look stupid if you ask a question. Labs were near impossible due to the lack of clarity from the lab instructors who knew little English.

She literally teaches nothing. The grading scale is the only thing that helps you survive this class. I am a junior in Kelley and this is by far THE WORST class I have taken at IU.

She's not as bad as everyone says. Yes she doesn't really teach in class but she does help with the assignments and very accommodating if you need help. As long as you keep up with the work, do the assignments and take the practice tests you will be fine

The tests can be slightly challenging but there are enough extra credit opportunities, and in class assignments that everyone can get at least a B. The class gets a bad wrap and it honestly doesn't deserve it. Don't let these reviews scare you.

Before you go to the class, you have to study hard. If you do, u can catch up her class otherwise you will fail to catch up. If you don't understand, do not hesitate. Just ask her. She is so kind and helps students a lot.

THIS IS A FLIPPED CLASS. The whole point is the lectures are online and homework is done in class in groups. So if you go in expecting Prof to teach, you will be disappointed. It is essential to join a good group for gravy points on the labs and hws. Not a fan of flipped classes, I don't go to school to teach myself.

The flipped classroom is a shame because Mary Beth is very knowledgeable about Statistics. Listen to her lectures and make friends with her and you will succeed. Mary Beth has been very accommodating in a few circumstances for me and genuinely cares about her students. I think the statistics is secondary and she's more interested in her students

It's a flipped Course, and not a good one. I've taken some acceptable flipped courses but this one is difficult to understand and keep up with. Take this class with friends, or you will struggle. Would not recommend. Was hoping for much more of an economic factor but there was very little. Teacher and Lab professor are not very helpful

She needs to send subsequent emails to clarify what she just said in the first email. - She invited a Campus Tutor guy to advertise about their service for half of the very first class -She never speaks in the class and hands you a worksheet worth 25 points every lecture

In terms of the class, it's flipped and doesn't really tie in very much to economics, which was kind of a disappointment. As for Mary Beth though, she's very understanding and tries her hardest to help her students as much as she can. The material can be confusing, but if you go to her about it she's almost certain to clear anything up for you.

A lot of people dislike Mary Beth because of her teaching style and the inverted classroom, but if you go to her and ask for help, she will accommodate you without question. She is incredibly smart and knowledgeable, and she is more than willing to explain concepts. You can pass this class, but only if you ask for help and do the outside work.

She's a really good teacher. Always available for help. Spends entire lecture answering your questions. Much better than the other stats teachers. People only don't like her because you actually have to attend the class period to get your homework.

it's a class that people can easily get at least a B if they carefully finish their class assignments and lab works. And Mary beth is always willing to help in the lecture. Finding friends to have class together will be better.

Speaking as someone who hasn't done very well in past Statistics courses, I thought the reverse course was actually kind of helpful. If you attend class, it gives you a really easy way to get some free points. The exams aren't that difficult if you go to class, especially because she allows you to use these notecards on them. Shes very helpful too.

Dr. Camp is the best Prof of my entire college career! She made a subject that I wasn't interested in come alive and be enjoyable. If you show and put forth a little effort, the class is a piece of cake!

What the lecture means that she gives you assignment to do for almost the whole class and send you the answer after class. You have to figure out almost all stuffs by yourself. The book does no help at all. Don't take her course!

The content is tough but the grading scale is easy! Unless you are a complete slacker, you will automatically get 500/1000 overall points. Tests would be difficult if they weren't ALL OPEN NOTE. This is a flipped course don't sweat it. Cook some dinner and watch the lectures, easy material to understand. Plenty of third party resources too.

Stats with Camp is a horrible excuse for a class. It's a reverse classroom so your teacher is actually just a bunch of slide show lectures with Mary's voice reading them off. Her only purpose is to help with the in class homework that you have no understanding of due to no teacher. If you have her class, prepare to learn all of stats on your own.

This class is by far the hardest I've taken at IU. The course is a flipped classroom so expect to have to teach yourself literally all of the material. TA's in class were not helpful at all, and were in fact very cryptic and non-specific with their answers. Professor Camp herself does her best, but too many people struggle for her to help them all.

Class was awful Out of state student who pays to go to a good school and learn. But this lazy person has a backwards class set up and makes you teach yourself outside of class. The class comes out to basically $1300 which you pay to teach yourself. She is awful at managing her grade book and is never up to date. DONT TAKE

This class requires absolutely no knowledge of economics and is instead very math heavy and requires good analytical skills. The tests are pretty easy though and only require that you study the practice tests which are provided. Her online lectures and worksheets are pretty long but overall this class wasn't too terrible.

Good professor and great person. The way the class is setup makes the material seem more difficult than it is. A lot of it you must learn on your own which can be difficult. Only take E370 if you are minoring in Econ. Take S301 if just doing it for Icore.

Flipped classroom - no lectures. You are supposed to learn everything on your own. Ppt and website are making it worse, more confusing. The class has an excel lab, which adds to the amount of learning. Seems like two classes combined in one. Took same class in another college and everything was clear, here it was one of the worst classes ever taken

The most uncaring professor ever. Doesn't care about anything you have to say. She took the class as a joke and just made us learn everything on our own. Also, she's genuinely not a caring person. Definitely ignore if you can.
