Has all of her notes available to either write down in class or copy in the library for $.10 a page. Kind of loses her train of thought periodically and can't explain everything that well. She's not a bad teacher just she's not for me.
Shes hard, stay away
She is very spastic. I had to work my butt off to get a D. I got an A in the other hist class I took. She is not good.

The first quiz she gave, she rushed the entire class through in about 10 minutes, just so she could do the rest of her lecture for the day. I did not like that at all!
If you are pressed for time. Do not take her class. Her class is equal to 3 classes, meaning it will take up that much time. I studied hard for her quizes like 5 hours a day and only made an 80. One of the worst teachers ever, Im not even exaggerating.
When I took her class, by the end of the semester one fifth of the class was still there. She does give out notes and test reviews (now). You will work you butt off but you will learn more in her class that in three other classes.
She presents facts without sugar coating. I found her class very interesting even though I really don't care much for history lectures.
In that class is very hard to understand. I study so hard my butt off, and trying to get a B or an A in this class but i got flunk alot of the quizzes and test. My ADVICE is...DONT TAKE HER CLASS!
She treats/teaches like you are still high school. Awful teaching style.

The class is very boring and is done from an outline. However, it is not that hard if you just study your notes. I easily made A's on my tests.
I actually liked the class. Her tests are easy, they come straight from the notes and the eassy are easier than you would think. Doing extra credit was helpful too. I thought she did a great job and I found it interesting
Made a scene when two girls left class early, chased them out of the room to get their names. Reminds me of high school! Difficult, demanding, an not helpful.
Difficult to learn from, listen to, and all around even tolerate being in the classroom with. Events that contradict her "notes" are not allowed/discussed. If you like history, DONT take her class.
I use to love history, that is before I took this class. To me history is interestng, but she was down right boring. She teaches from an outline, but I was getting writers cramps trying to keep up with her while taking notes. Every test has an essay question(s). She also voices her political opinions too much.

In every class I've had her in shes made history very easy to learn. Youll do well on the tests because of the take home quizzes she gives you and youll learn some interesting facts.
This is the most dreadest class of thestudents. I dread going and I hate sitting through 1h20m lectures. She reads from an outline and is boring. She contradicts herself alot and treats our class like were in grade school. Were not allowed to leave during class. I am the one paying her to teach me, I should be able to come and go as I please
terrible, outdated antiquated style of teaching, rambles off the notes that are found online as if you cant read them yourself for the entire length of the period and then some, ocasionaly fire off at students for no apparent reason, tried to tell my class that we couldnt us the restroom during class unless we told her before class that we were sic
I've always managed good grades but this class has totally shaken my confidence. She was extrememly unorganized and confusing. I would NOT recommend her. Wish I had known about this site before now!
I absolutely hated this class. Buinger is probably the worst teacher I have ever had! Way too unorganized and scattered. She never called me out, but she seemed to enjoy embarrasing students. Just not a good experience all the way around.
I enjoyed her class but she gives alot of information to learn at one time. She gives her lecture notes online but they are very choppy and hard to follow. Always an essay on her exams and tests are not easy. She gives a review sheet but there is so much on it, she might as well just tell you to read the lecture notes. Gives extra credit work.

This teacher is frustrating and annoying. She just rambles on forever about the topic, but never really teaches anything. She also doesn't help us prepare or really even know what she is expecting from us for the tests. I will never take her as a teacher again, and I hope you don't either.

CAUTION! DO NOT TAKE ANY OF HER CLASSES. SHE WILL MAKE YOU FAIL YOUR TEST. SHE LIKES TO TALK AND NEVER GIVE YOU A CHANCE TO SPEAK. SHE HAS A PROUD ATTITUDE AND IS VERY ARROGANT. STAY AWAY FROM HER.
This is the worst teacher at tcc, she talks for hours and makes you print 50 sheets of notes. She teaches like its princeton university.ITS TCC
CAUTION: if you take this teacher, you will fail. She is not a good teacher, she does not help, and it is impossible to know what she talks about because she is too rapid and self involved.
Very confusing
omg...i hate this lady so much, in all my school years ive never had a worse teacher in my life!!! her tests have absolutely NOTHING to do with the 80hr lectures and 2,000 page notes...!! i dropped her just in time, 3/4ths of the class is gone. the only people who understand her are zombies who kiss butt in the front
If you have a life outside of school and can't make all of her lectures, which are just overhead views of a bunch of text, don't take this class. She needlessly snapped at the entire class on more than one occasion.
UGH!! She is so difficult! Her tests have nothing to do with what she rambles on about! She complains if you leave early as if it's highschool or something! Her teaching style is so boring and you get nothing out of it! I DO NOT RECCOMEND HER!! YE BE WARNED!!!!!
Do not take her. There are way better history teachers at TCC. She does not make sense of the information, and her class is very similar to high school. I strongly recommend thinking twice before taking her class.
This teacher is down right hard. I usually do pretty good in school and make A's but this lady was confusing and she didnt make any sense and i ended up with a B. And if you don't attend class she will make class hell for you. I recommend everyone to think twice before making the decision to take her.

This class basically requires you to attend class 99% of the time, if not then you will probably fail. It was a tough class, though not impossibly so. She did give us many opportunities for extra credit which helped alot.
This class is very hard and strict. Mary Buinger is unforgiving and will embarrass any student if they made a mistake. I do NOT recommend her whatsoever.
Boring lectures that don't cover test material, notes that are pages upon pages of useless babble unless you write ALL over them, geography quizzes, ranting for leaving early/showing up late, and no mercy for those of us who get sick or just don't show up once every week or two. I wouldn't recommend her as a professor to an enemy.
This class is hard, but not impossible. There is alot of information covered in this class so if your looking for an easy A this is not the class for you. Mrs. Buinger is a great teacher, she gives you many extra credit opportunities and the notes you can print off online.
Her tests are really hard, but you do learn a lot in her class. If you're looking for a challenge then this is the class to take. She is a difficult teacher. She provides ample opportunity for extra credit and all of her notes are posted online.
Mrs. Buinger is a VERY intelligent person, but there are alot of notes and the tests are kind of difficult, unless you study for them pretty good. She does tend to embarass you if your phone goes off or you are talking to another student or falling asleep during class. If you're either really funny or really smart, she'll like you.
Lots of notes on the overhead but you can pritn offline. If you're not staring at her during lecture she will point you out and make it a point to embarrass you. Doesn't like students who show up late or not every day. Very stubborn and favors students who sit in the front row and show up every day. If you're not extremely studios, don't take this!
The lady was so BORING! I felt like getting up and walking out of class EVERYDAY.. so evenutally I stoped going and droped the class... lots of homework, lots of book use, lots of notes!!
She is a very smart woman but I feel like she was trying to hard to make people take her seriously because she is a woman. she out does her self to embarrass people who are not showing her their full attention. I wouldn't take her class again. NO THANKS!!

This lady is god awful!!!! She gave everyone a paper at the beginning of the semester with specific instructions for 20 point of extra credit.. I did the entire report following all of the directions (keep in mind this report took over two weeks to do)and I quote " you must have not understood, I am sorry this is useless." whatever!
Her class is somewhat difficult, but she gives you all the tools you need, plus tons of extra credit, to pass.
I would not Recommend her to anybody.She gives these long quizes that take forever to do.i would study for hours and still would not be able to master her test.i showed up to every class and took note and tryed my hardest only to find myself failing miserably.he test our timed.she does NOT give you the whole class.
History isn't my best subject and was not looking forward to this class. However, she is so intelligent and hilarious! I was able to easily pay attention to her lectures! She is a challenge, with timed exams that are tough. I would definately take her again! If you have to take a brutal history course, she definately make it interesting!
Most people don't like her and I agree, she is really tough, but I found her interesting and REALLY knowledgable. She offers enough extra credit to help out anyone making low grades. MC on the tests are pretty difficult, but she'll tell in advance what the essay is over. She's a big rule follower. Just pay attention to her "SIDS" document thing.
I really liked her. She was difficult but it's just like AP History in high school. You can print out all of the notes and the quizzes are available way before you need them. You do need to have good attendance but she will give you extra credit if you don't miss a lot.
This teacher is very hard, she gives you a test with an essay and you have to finish it in 30 mins. She does give extra credit which helps but her test are hard. I didnt like the class and she gives you a sitting chart, how gay!
Unless you feel like doing ridiculous amounts of homework and studying for hours upon hours for tests I do not recommend this teacher. Her tests and quizzes are very wordy and you can easily lose points if you don't pay attention to detail. I hated this class.
I found her to be quite difficult to keep up with. The way things were worded in her quizzes threw me off. She would also make me feel incompetent when she would ask me questions. Her tests were also timed which made it difficult.

I loved her! If try to understand what she teaches, you'll do fine. She allows you to print off all her notes from the internet (or you can write by hand), her quizzes are very straightforward as long as you read the chapter (or two) assigned and pay attention to the notes in class. Her tests are half multiple choice and essay, they're timed.
Words can't begin to describe the uselessness of this teacher and her class. Her tests have NOTHING to do with the nonsense she talks about in class. She thinks she's God's gift to earth and treats you like a prisoner. No one is allowed to discuss topics in class or use the restroom. All in all i can't type what i would like to say about her here.
This teacher was difficult. I had a hard time with her quizzes, I never really knew what to study other than the chapter(chapters were really long). Nice teacher, just not a good class to take when you are a full time student. If you do take her, do the fill in for her notes, it counts as extra credit and will help you with the tests
good lecturer, but her very mandatory work is very difficult and incomprehensible at times. This coming from an HS AP History student.
Her lectures are surprisingly VERY easy to follow and often times kind of interesting. BUT, and it's a big, round, bountiful but, the 1-2 chapter quizzes a week (albeit take-home quizzes) are exceedingly difficult with answers not readily found in the text. Each test has an essay, extremely difficult and way off from her lectures. DO NOT TAKE HER!!

I came into Mrs. Buingers class very unprepared, I dont recommend this class unless you are prepared for non-stop work, chapter quizzes due 2-3 time per week, plus quite a few exams, she offers xtra credit, but with her work load, its hard to find time to complete all of it. Hard, very fast, essays on every exam, you miss one day ur screwed.
I am a history major, and I love history. That being said, she sucked every bit of fun out of this class. She will make you feel like an idiot if you disagree with her, and she will punish the whole class for one person's mistake. She knows the subject very well, but unless you like extremely mean professors, I WOULD NOT recommend her at all.
A lot of quizzes. Lectures are non stop and tons of notes. Quizzes over EVERY chapter tested. Also a lot of questions on tests that do not have a clear answer and long question with paragraph answer choices.. quite annoying when she doesn't give you enough time on the test anyways..
don't be late to her class. dont miss a test or quiz. she does not understand if you have a life out of college( ie sick kids etc) questions complicated and unclear. I liked history before I took her class. She does not like it when you ask a question.

Lots of notes and lots of information. somewhat interesting, but still really HARD. personally, she is a prideful, left-wing, know-it-all, who feels the need to diss Christianity and conservitave values as much as possible. if she is the only time that fits ur schedule, urself a favor and wait a semester.

Freshman History is not her forte, not helpful, marks you absent when you are there, exams seem to have no right answer, if you ask questions she makes you feel dumb for it. a LOT of information and not enough time for it all. Extremely hard course with her. History was my best subject until I took her course. The material is unclear, she herself tries to interject her political beliefs on students and in lessons. Tests are insanely hard, and make no sense at all. Overall, TERRIBLE professor. There a much better professors then her.

Very hard and she needs an attitude adjustment! Please save yourself the headache and take someone else. Her test have nothing to do with the crappy notes she makes available online. She gives quizzes that can't be made up. Which requires you to attend everyday as if you don't have a life outside of her class.
I liked her as a person from conversations I had with her outside of the class but as far as her class and the way that she taught goes, I did not like. She teaches very fast and was hard to understand and I had a 4.0 prior to taking her class. So unless you are a history buff I would not recommend taking her class.

She talks a lot but is very informative and she's got her own way of making it interesting. She can be intense but she's passionate about history. Best way to study for exams is strictly by the outline she provides. I found out a little late in the semester but ended up w/ an A. She gives plenty opp. for xtra credit. I thoroughly enjoyed her class.
This is literally the worst teacher I have ever had. She is arrogant, and unhelpful. Her tests are ridiculous, her quizzes take HOURS. If you pass this class, i salute you. Don't even bother, you'll fail.
