In the beginning she was great. Very nice and helpful. But the last 5 to 6 weeks, she's completely changed. She's kind of mean and unapproachable. Maybe it's the stress, but I don't really like her now. It's a shame because I wanted her to be my mentor, but now I feel as though she is unnecessarily rude and unforgiving. Show up, do the work.

Better have a laptop. Super lengthy PP notes. She loves the sound of her own voice, half the class time is spent on her personal stories. Unapproachable, rude and very condescending. Hard to talk to and intimidating so I never felt comfortable asking questions. The toughest grader out of any professor I've ever had for no reason. Got an A on the final but a B because of how tough and nit-picky of a grader she is. Considered switching majors after this class.

She is a very tough grader. The question is why she is the ONLY professor who is teaching HSCI 331 class. The course is not that hard but she tries to do more complicated. English is not my first language so she put me down a lot. If you have other options DO NOT take her.

Dr. V is a professor who is hard on you but really has compassion in her job. Her class is very easy, all you need to do is come to class and complete the homework. She doesn't bump up grades, so make sure you study and understand the material. Her homework lectures are fun and easy. Boss up and don't be afraid to take her!

Dr. Valdez is such a great professor, I love her teaching style and I have never understood a class so well before hers. All the work she assigns is to help understand the material and its worth doing. Office hours were so helpful as well and she would always answer my questions and made me feel welcomed. I definitely recommend her she's amazing!

Dr. Valdez was very helpful and she is a great lecturer. Attendance is mandatory and you will lose participation points if you do not show up. Although she has a tough demeanor, she is probably one of the best Public Health professors at CSUN. She is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. The only downside is that it's so hard to ask her questions in fear that she will make you feel bad for asking them. I would take her again if I have the chance.

Dr. Valdez carries herself with such a poor attitude when approached as if she's better than everyone. It's a shame that she's the only professor that currently teaches 331 because this class could've been great with a different professor. Unreasonable grader with little to no helpful feedback. Good luck to everyone taking any class with her.

Although the class was interesting and I didn't mind attending, she assigns too much work throughout the week and most can be time consuming. One of the worst professors I have ever had in my schooling career she really does not care about student's success. Assigns way too much work for a three unit class and is very tough grader. It amazes me how she is the only professor teaching this class. Also if you miss more than two classes she will negatively grade you even if you are sick.

Hate that this class is required for public health and that she is the only professor for it. Assigns too much work along with two projects near the end of the semester when finals are coming up soon which is very annoying as I'd want to focus on my other classes as well. I honestly liked Dr. V. Just make sure to go to class, participate often, actually do the notes, and go to her office hours as soon as she announces the final paper to secure your topic.
