Mary was an awsome teacher! Her stories are funny and related to the curriculum.I love the film clips she shows in class they reinforce what she is teaching. She is also uncensored,I like how she is not afraid to talk about sex and other issues that offend some people.Great teacher!!!!!

She was an okay teacher...very passionate about what she teachers. MY WORD...She talks too much about her cats..WOW! Calm down lady. It's an okay class to take...not a lot of work! VERY easy, and its sort of fun sometimes.
She is a GREAT teacher... not too hard and definately knowledgable about the subject. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to learn about speaking techniques... I learned a LOT.
Nice teacher, interesting clips, and easy tests if you study.
good teacher nice as hell
Awesome personality... loved her strong voice and big hand motions while teaching.
She tells funny and weird stories. She makes the class fun. Uses her hands a little much but thats cool its her thing. She makes it an easy class and interesting.
Dellasega's cool, class work is easy, tests are medium, she dives on yah grammar when it comes to writting...lol...But apart from that, her stories and explanations are dramatic, but clear.
Mary's nice enough, but I was a little disappointed in her class. With a subject that has so much potential, she really makes it boring and slow. Mary quotes the text book way too often, no outside info. Kind of an annoying person, and just a little egotistical. If given the choice I wouldn't take her class again.
I love listening to her stories about every day situations that pertain to the lesson. I don't think she's at all egocentric. If anything, she's extremely nice, smart, and very interesting and she definitely wants the student to succeed. I also think she is beautiful.
Nicest woman ever. Really simple class. Keeps your attention well. Easy assignments. Makes class fun to be in.
Extremely interesting, very dramitic, really into what she is teaching.
Shes rad!
She entertains with stories and dramatics, she provides examples, but when your tests come, you have had better read the chapters 3 times over to ensure you have the content down. I learned more on my own from reading the book than I did from her.
sweeeeeeeet
entertaing woman, you get to watch a lot of movies.

SHE A GREAT SPEECH TEACHER
I wanted to give Mary a pepper because she mentioned she wanted one in class. :) I really enjoy Mary and she reminds me of Mary Poppins... I think its the bag.
very enthusiastic about what she teaches, keeps the class interested, loves how she makes us feel comfortable to speak out
MARY MAKES IT A VERY INTERESTING CLASS..I LIKED LISTENING TO HER LECTURES AND SHE MAKES US WATCH VIDEO CLIPS ALL THE TIME. NOT MUCH HOMEWORK..JUST A LIL READING AND A SUMMARY OF WHAT U READ. JUST HAVE GOOD ATTENDANCE AND TURN IN YOUR HOMEWORK GETS U AN EASY A. =)
Very lively, entertaining teacher. Teaches info that is useful in everyday life; has great stories and examples. Show up every day, take notes and turn in papers and you'll have a good chance at an A. You can also use an older edition textbook to save money. Kind and caring teacher. Has a beautiful spirit.
Mary is full of life! She is very entertaining and always tries to keep the class involved. She reminds me a bit of the teacher from Harry Potter, the one that turned into a cat...but not as dull. I would definitely recommend her!
Very nice lady. Taught straight from the textbook so some of the classes were a bit dull. Easy class but still learned stuff. Don't feel like I got my money's worth but I had fun!
BORING!! Old,old fashion, and even her examples are old. She is a nice lady and its an easy class but shes so dang boring and over the top theatrical that you dont ever want to go, and she grades attendence.Take someone that is a little more interesting, fun, believe me.Get your moneys worth!
I think Mary Dellasega is one of the best instructors at EVCC. She is helpful and understanding. I found her material easy to understand and teaches in a way all learning styles could comprehend. I learned so much information in this class and still have retained almost all of it. Mary Dellasega is my favorite communications instructor.
shes nice and very interesting take plenty of notes and atleast read the book all the way through.
Mary commands respect because she gives respect. Her syllabus is her class, if you can follow that, you will do we. Instead of notes, hows about reading the book? Put down the PDA and listen and learn.
I thought Mary was a wonderful teacher! If you show up to class everyday and pay attention there is no need to read the book. And if you aren't paying attention more than likely she'll speak right to you so that you do pay attention. Anyways, take her class. She is easy to learn from.
This class takes a lot of notes, I usually have about 2 pages a day. But the content is interesting, and she is alright, i'll find myself getting bored then she'll burst out in some sort of drama, so i always stay awake!
Mary is an amazing teacher, always fun during class lectures :) If you do your homework, you will do just fine :)
Mary is a wonderful teacher. She keeps things interesting and is very animated -- take her class!
Mary is a wonderful teacher! I really enjoyed her class and how she would take the things we were learning in class and give really great examples for applying them to real life.
Dr. Dellasega is enthusiatic, organized, prepared with perfectly executed presentations, respectful, obviously enjoys teaching, approachable, grammar aficionado, gives constructive feedback & grades promptly. I strongly recommend this class. The material is emotionally challenging, like "Introspective Bootcamp" but is well worth the effort.
She's a great teacher and very enthusiastic about teaching. It is difficult at times because her classes are just straight lectures... Her classes are definitely not for those with a short attention span.
Mary is an amazing person and wonderful teacher. She is really helpful and understanding.
Excellent teacher, very informative and interesting class
I liked her a lot at the beginning, but she gets caught up in her own talking and it's her own world instead of about the students. I still I like her, but she gets angry if you don't like to do things her way.
Easy class. you do a lot of stuff but only 4 speeches pretty simple.
If you are afraid of speaking and terrified of taking this class, don't be. This is one of the easiest classes ever, there are 4 speeches total and she grades very very easily. She rarely gave anything lower than a B on a speech.
I find Mary to be a delightfully sweet lady. She is comical and use's her experiences in life to show examples that relate to what we are learning in our text. I definitely enjoy her class.
Adore her! If you go to class, do the assignments, there should be no reason not to get an A... I love the outfits she wears! They crack me up and are so cute :) she always matches! I like how she talks with such enthusiasm, makes the class more enjoyable... Great teacher!!
Mary is sweet. Her class is fairly easy. Her lectures are hard to stay focused in, she spends most of the time talking about her experiences that relate to the class material. Personally I do better in a class thats more material based.
I love this class! She's very entertaining and is great at comparing her life stories to the topics at hand. I recommend her class to everyone.
Life is a stage for her! I loved her! And she really sparked an interest in communications for me!
I absolutely love Mary Dellasega. When I first entered this class I figured it would be fairly boring but a lot of it relates to everyday life experiences. Mary is a great teacher that makes it more fun and interesting than you would think. I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone interested in this type of class!!!
Great instructor. Has a passion for what she teaches. The work seems overwhelming at first but its really not bad. Tests are only 10 questions each week and always on the key terms at the end of each chapter.
She is very nice and cares about her subject. Unfortunately I found the subject on the boring side after taking psychology & anthropology.
She's so cute! I love her :) Learned a ton! Would definitely recommend.
Mary is entertaining. She is very dramatic and her class time is a stage. It is a pretty easy class, and she is an easy grader. If you do the work, you basically get an A. Recommend, easy class, easy teacher, and its fun!
Love her! If you read the book and attend class, you will do well. She is not one of those teachers that are there just to make your life miserable. Thank God for Mary!
Very easy class. Although incredibly female-view oriented. I am a man, and all the examples of gender involve men doing something wrong. 3 men in the whole class, so it was basically a class full of women talking about how men view and think about the world. This really ticked me off. Incredibly feminine class.
This is a very easy class, but I wish it was available online. If the attendance didn't make up 200 points out of the whole grade, I wouldn't show up to class
Mary is such a sweetheart! Absolutely loved her class! It's easy to get an A, but at the same time you learn a lot of things that you will use in everyday life! I recommend her to anyone, she is extremely personable and understanding!
I wish this class was available online. The amount the textbook was used, I could have used the library copy and not spend $180 on a new copy.
best teacher in EVCC!!she would do anything to clear your doubt!i recommend everyone to take her class once
You won't regret taking her class! Class is interesting, assignments and quizzes are not time consuming at all. They are geared towards helping you understand the concepts presented in class and in the book. Attendance is mandatory, but Mary is awesome. :)
Mary loves to teach, she's passionate about communication and her stories actually relate to the points she is making. Best lecture class I've taken in a LONG time. Paying attention and doing the work will give you a good grade. No need to stress about grades if you really try.
she i absolutely wonderful and makes me want to attend class. inspires me to talk to more people an ive gained a lot of understanding just in the four weeks ive been in her class so far (: highly recommend this class!<3
She's so freaking cute. And she's very passionate about everything.
She is not very intelligent and does not use correct classifications for terms. The material could be interesting but they way she presents it is not very effective. Would not take her again.
Adorable sweet older lady. Keep up with the reading and show up to class. It's pretty easy to get an A if you do. She sometimes rambles on when she lectures but is overall a good teacher who cares about her students.
Great teaching. Awesome teaching materials. Syllabus is clear. Never test on something she didn't teach. She is very reasonable. Willing to help ESL students. Compare to other teachers she is an easy A. You really will learn something from her class.
Very helpful and understanding. Really passionate about what she is teaching.
Mary is super helpful if you ever need it, and is even willing to read over your assignments and give you pointers! She is a sweetheart and has very reasonable expectations of her students.
MARY'S THE COOLEST. This class was so easy, and is definitely an easy A. The work load is high but extremely do-able (short quizzes and short papers every week). Her lectures are phenomenal and she always makes sure to liven up the class with hilarious stories. She most definitely deserves respect (and all the peppers!) from all her students.
Dellasega's communications class was one of my favorites of all time. Never has a class felt so immediately relevant. RIght when you walk out of class every day, you can apply what you learned. Dellasega couldn't be clearer with her presentations and she frequently uses examples to illustrate new points. Overall, I would highly recommend this class
Enjoyable teacher that knows her craft well. There is homework to keep up on and general reading, but if you put in your time and effort you'll be fine since she makes the material very clear what she wants from you.
I honestly loved taking this class with Mary. She was a delight and one of, if not my favorite professor at EvCC. I am waiting to take public speaking with her! :)
I found she only taught CMST 220 in summer. I am lucky to take her CMST 220. There were only 4 speeches in the quarter, and the first one and the last one were easy. But you should prepare the second and third one. She is a easy grader. If you follow her instructions and prepare speeches on time, you would definitely get good grade. TAKE HER CLASS!
1 page papers and 1 quiz each week. 1 midterm paper (2 pages) and 1 dyadic encounter (5 pages). Easy class, points are docked for each day you miss though. Mary is such a sweet and funny lady.
1) willing to help 2)do your part and pass 3)very nice 4) RESPECT TO THIS LADY 5)easy grader 6)UGH just take her she's an awesome teacher 7)really I'm trying to save your grade homie
Attendance is graded, and u have a small weekly paper and quiz to do. One major paper is due at the end of the quarter and one group presentation. Overall this was an easy A.
Professor Mary is one of my favorite professors so far! The homework is light enough to not be stressful, however, there is enough of it to keep me busy. Mary lectures well, her voice is clear and she is interesting to listen to as well.
She quickly became one of my favorite teachers at EvCC. Can she adopt me?
Mary is such a sweet lady. She is very interesting and funny. I think it's impossible not to like her. Class is fairly easy. However subject matter is an abstract view for such a simple thing like communication. She has a tendency to go off on a tangent, but it's not always a bad thing. If you keep up on the homework and assignment, you'll pass.
Oh my lord. This class. Mary is fine. She's lovely, sweet, and has good stories. However she literally just reads from the textbook, the only reason I go to class is because of participation points. I have skipped class quite a lot this quarter and I still understand everything. An easy A if you're willing to waste your time. Group projects are fun
I didn't expect to be so interested in coming to class, but Mary made class fun and interesting. There is a quiz and paper due every week on the chapter we go over, as well as projects. Overall her classes were a joy to come to everyday and she's extremely caring and inspirational. Her lectures are very easy and understandable as well. I recommend!
Mary is amazing!! Sweetest teacher and cares about the material. If you have the chance to take her, do it! Would take another class of hers if I needed the credit!
This teacher is amazing!
Professor is unreasonable - you better make sure you don't have any family emergencies or get your backpack stolen with all your textbooks and notes because she will not work with you. Even if you have proof of incidents and beg to redo any of the work. Also don't expect a response from emails you send to her over canvas.
She is hilarious with many stories and examples in class. You must attend the class for point and take note the extra information of the lecture. Her homework is not too heavy, make sure you have enough time to (at least) scan the chapter to do the online quiz. I'd like to take her again.
She's great, really simple class. Weekly coursework was easy: one page paper a week and a 10 minute online quiz. There's one five page paper due towards the end and that's it.
Great professor.
Loved her class! She was fun to have. There were weekly quizzes and 1 page paper but it was pretty easy if you pay attention during class and read the chapter for that week.
Best teacher ever! I was terrified of public speaking, but she always assured us that no one could tell if we were nervous. It was an online class though so it wasn't the same effect as in person. She does a really good job of giving feedback and helping everyone. It is clear that she wants to see us succeed. I think she was a really easy grader.
Professor Dellasega is a great educator. She can be very humorous and bit amusing when it came to her lectures. She was able to grasp the attention of all students. Her lectures were good - definitely not boring. The assignments weren't difficult at all. I learned a lot from this class and I would 10/10 would recommend it.
Marry is such a lovely person, and I am very grateful that I took her class. I have learned a lot throughout this quarter.
