teacher is so easy, a 1st grader can pass the class, recommended for easy passing but wouldn't learn a lot

Very easy teacher and really helpful. DO learn a couple of useful things in the class, so it isn't entirely useless. Recommend her to anyone.

I took the 100A in Fall 2001. She was my first English teacher. I like her very much and she is easy although there was quite some homeworks to do.

Very fair teacher. Energetic and keeps the class interested. Allows re-writes on all essays, there is no reason why you won't pass as long as you come to class.

She is nice and pretty. She wants to help you and would let you rewrite to get better. Easy grader and easy pass.

Nice lady and is very helpful in order to write a good paper. Downside is if u write a crappy essay then a rewrite is a must. But overall, easy PASS!

As long as you write something...anything...you'll pass. She gives you all the chances in the world to redo, and fix things in your papers. Very fair teacher.

SHe is the best english teacher ive had. I learned a lot in her class. She's very helpful always wants to help you understand. If you get a bad grade you can re do it to improve it. very chill and super nice.

I love this teacher! I wish she was teaching 1a, but she isn't right now. Ms. Diehl is great at explaining things, and always willing to help you out. She doesnt push you into reading your writing out loud, like some of the other professors. The assigments are fun, and can be challenging. I'm hoping to learn alot from this class.

Mrs. Diehl is the best english teacher at De Anza. She is nice, understanding & extremely helpful. She explained everything clearly & let you know exactly what she expected on the essays. As long as you do what she asked, you will receive a good grade. It's too bad she don't teach English 1A. Otherwise, I would deffinitely take her again. Take her!

I took 100B and now taking 1A with her. Her class is hella easy and u bet u can learn a lot from her. The lecture is not hard at all. 4 sure u can get at least B for turnin in all the homework and attendin the class. One of the BEST EWRT professors....

I strongly recommend her!!!She does not care about grammar too much. If your structure is good, personal experinces and examples are nice, She will give you a nice grade though. If you do every in class work, you will get full credit. Come to class every time. She always let students leave early. She is very patient. Please!!Take her class!!!

3 out-of-class essays(1 research paper). 2 (1 is the final). Credit only assignments every class. Offers about 30 EC points. Out of all the essays you write, except your final, you can re-write one for a higher grade, unless one of your essays really sucked, then you're forced to do a re-write. Tells you what she wants for all assignments. Doable!

i liked her. very nice teacher. if you don't understand something, she'll explain it. work is pretty easy. pretty much all you do is read essays and write summaries on them. i don't think she cares if you come in late but i would recommend coming in on time just because she clears up some stuff.

if you are fresh out of ESL then i definitely recommend her but if you do have a good grasp of the english language and are a decent writer then this class isn't for you. Even though it was incredibly easy i was really bored because she went over concepts that I really didn't need to review. But we definitely had a lot of cancelled classes

I'm a really, really bad in English, writing essay is the damn thing i hate the most but I got an A in her class... That was so much easy, REALLY !!! YOU SHOULD TRY HER SOMETIMES IF YOU HAVE CHANCE. I'm gonna take her EWRT 1B this FALL ... ABSOLUTELY !!!

She is the easiest instructor I have ever taken at De Anza.I wasn't listening at all and was daydreaming in nearly every class but I ended up doing well.Just turn in 4 good essays and do your homework, then it's your world.She's nice but a bit unrealistic,plus she looks like Meryl Streep!

My friend took her for EWRT 1A and said that she was sooo damn easy and nice and such. Seriously, I don't want to be surrounded with a bunch of HK FOBs. They are hella loud and they are just aiming for EZ As. BAD ATTITUDE! I have to take her during summer coz I hate the rest of the other teachers (coronado, garvin, hemker). Least of the 4 evils

Professor Diehl is one of the most easiest teacher in De Anza. However, there is a lot of assignment but she is not picky about grammar like some English teacher. Freaking essay topics are sooo easy though. This class is recommended*thumbs up*

Ms. Diehl's is a hella cool teacher and wants you to pass. Homework and addignments are hella easy and she makes it really clear what she wants. Shes also funny and really good looking haha

The best teacher I ever have! She's nice and funny too! Easy A!! I got straight As for all her essays. She let us out early many times. There are days where you just need to hand your essay homework an you can leave. She also lets you do your in-class essay at home! Take her!! She's highly recommended!!

Ms Diehl an easy and nice teacher. She is also very helpful when you have questions. But the cons is I did not learn much about writing in her class- my EWRT 211 class/1A is 5x more difficult/beneficial than this class.

She is such a nice and helpful teacher. Take her. You are gotta learn a lot from her lecture. I love the time that she gave us to proofread each other's essay to correct grammar mistakes. Her 5+ quizzes and essay are pretty easy to get an A

If you are not a good writer, take her! She's very good at helping you discover what you like about writing and helps you build on that. She also offers great feedback and allows you to revise your work after it's been submitted. Great intro to EWRT 1A.

For those who didn't quite know how to write an essay from High School, I highly recommend Mrs. Diehl. She will always help you out whenever possible and most of the work is in class, and the homework is not very difficult either.

I can't find any reason that you don't take her class.She gives a one-page guide for each essay.You follow the instruction, you get A.Don't worry if you are a bad writer.Just ask her for help after class, she's very patient. The reading is very interesting and useful. I hate reading like most people do, but I can say that I enjoyed her readings.

VERY helpful. There were alot of people where english wasn't there first language so she made sure everything was broken down into the simplest terms possible. Sometimes it was boring because ewrt 211 is such basic english, but the class was an easy A! Pretty easy grader on essays too

She is a very helpful English Professor! She gets right to the point, tells you everything you need to know for her class, and isn't boring about it. Everything I learned I ended up using in future classes. If you're contemplating on taking her course do it, don't hesitate!

there is classwork worth 15points every class. miss one you miss 15points. you can make up but you gotta have valid excuse. easy grading criteria. 2 outclass and 2 inclass essays. she speaks too long, makes me sleepy. but you can play on your phone LOL have fun. its easy as long as you follow guidelines. she also allows rewrites.

She is a very good professor and she will usually circle your let you know what to fix. I would definitely take a course with her again.

Professor Diehl is great! She gives very helpful writing and grammar tips to improve your essays. She also gives clear lectures and gives good feedback on your essays to improve them for the portfolio. She also wrote her own book!

Really cares about her students' success and progress in the class. Would take her again if I could! Lectures could get a tad boring but you always learn something and I think it's worth taking her class.

Mary is a great teacher and cares for her students. She is very understanding and helps students get the best grade possible, if someone is missing a class or two she allows you to make up loss work for credit. She is very clear in her lecture and gives activities to help us improve. There is never no "busy work" highly recommended teacher.

This is my 1st quarter at De Anza Collage. As English is my second laughing, and I did learned a lot in her class. She speak clear and her mind is organization. Take her , i promise you that you will learn a lot.

Mary told me i'd do great in future english courses if i showed up but i still received a passing grade LOL. Although, im a fluent english speaker I saw how hard she works to have the class inclusive and she makes sure nobody is left behind. Honestly, the best teacher/mentor Ive had at Deanza! She'll grade your works leniently. Pressure yourself all the time for your future English 1a/1b/2 classes even if you think you can easily pass her class. She was the most lenient English teacher at De Anza.

Diehl is very caring and passionate about everything she teaches. There are 3 essays and a final. I like about her is that she lets you use a lot of creativity and personal experience, which a lot of teachers don't do in an EWRT class. Her lectures are very long and seem unnecessary as if she's forcing them just to meet the very long class time.

She is a great professor! I learned a lot of things from her, I really want to take her class again. I think she usually doesn't give bad grade, but if you have a many grammatical mistakes, she will deduct points. She is a easy A prof, and she is nice.

ONE OF THE BEST ENGLISH PROFESSOR at De Anza. She gives really good feedback for every single homework and essays. She is so kind and nice, everyone loves her. Her class is really easy, doesn't give a lot of homework. And if you follow her essay requirement, you got an A, i mean A+!!! Take her!

She's an amazing teacher. I took her class online over the summer. Her directions are straight forward and she bases her grading off of it. As long as you take the time to understand the assignments you'll do fine. There is a lot of hw but her intent is for it to help you with your essay assignments. She will make you a stronger writer.

It's English 1A, of course, you are going to be expected to read and do a lot of writing I took her class online. She's understanding gives a lot of feedback and comments. It's a class you have to stay on top of but nothing out of control.

Very quick to respond, very good feedback and very fair grading. I would suggest this professor at any opportunity given.

i remember getting an welcome email from her before fall quarter was about to begin and was heavily intimidated, but when I did the assignment, I overreacted bc it was so easy. all her instructions are clear and she responds quick too. in fact all of her assignments are pretty repetitive so it is easy to do, but quite a bit of reading and hw.

there are few assignments so that I finished final within a month, and I got an A+ PERIOD

I loved Prof. Diehl! I took her online during the summer and I enjoyed her class thoroughly. She was super lenient with deadlines, and even let me turn in an essay late because of a personal matter! The books that we read were very interesting and the essay prompts were very clear and easy to finish. Definitely recommend taking this teacher!!

BEST teacher ever, I highly recommend her. No stress at all and she was probably one of the best english teachers that I've ever had!!

Her class consisted of 4 essays, and two homework assignments a week. The assignments were simple and clear with detailed instructions. She offered a lot of extra credit. It was an easy A.

Elite teacher. She does give out a decent amount of work, but if you stay on top of it it's super manageable. If you do all the work the way she wants it's an easy A, definitely take her for EWRT1B. I'm not sure how her in-person classes are,I had her online. 4 essays required in the quarter but that seems like standard for online English classes.

BEST English teacher there is!! Mrs. Diehl is hands down the easiest grader and gives feedback on every single assignment you submit. If you just do the work, then expect full points on every assignment as long as its done in a timely manner! Assignments may take an upwards of 30 minutes - 1 hour each, but she gives out free A's!

As long as you complete the task according to her requirements, I can't imagine how you could not get an A grade.

I really enjoyed taking this course with Professor Diehl. She gave good feedback on my assignments and allowed me to make corrections if needed. I also enjoyed the textbooks she had us read and actually now have a joy and interest in writing! Would recommend anyone take her class.

Class was very simple. 2 short assignments/week based off of a reading/book. 4 essays spread throughout quarter (most of it already written in the weekly assignments). Weeks there is an essay there is no assignment so you have a break. You also get extra credit for turning in the essays early. Light grader, great book choices, & positive feedback!

Very easy to follow homework assignments. Also gives extra credit for essays and submitted early, while also allowing resubmissions with close to a full score if you fix your mistakes. Overall really relaxed on grading!

As someone with pretty poor time management skills, this class definitely helped me improve them. 2 homework assignments a week that are graded on completion, with 4 essays in total. The homework leading up to the essays helps a lot, she basically has you write out your introduction and outline. She gives amazing feedback & offers extra credit!

Took her 2024 Fall Term. Very easy, like you would have to try to fail. Not a lot of reading just use summaries from online sources, homework is spaced out very well. Professor Diehl is an easy grader, not a lot of homework, and it's easy. Would recommend to anyone.

Professor Diehl's class is a solid choice - she provides great feedback and clear guidelines. With some effort, you'll likely earn an A. Unstuck AI can be a helpful study tool alongside the readings.

Sweetest professor I've had, provides feedback on all assignments and grades quickly. All homework is graded on completion, and essays are easy since the homework is made to outline them. Extra credit is given for early essay submissions. The book we had to read was actually good, and overall, this class is not stressful at all. Take her!

She is really nice. I missed the due date for an assignment by a day but she still granted full points (despite her syllabus saying late work isn't accepted). You are pretty much guaranteed an A+ and you can easily get extra credit just by submitting your essays early. You read 1 book, 1 textbook, and 1 collection of short stories. Only 4 essays.
