All tests are take home, she likes to play mind games with her students. Plays out like an ****s anonymous meeting. This class can become a severe annoyance. Work is easy, but lots of it. You will learn most from reading the chapter. In class discussions are not very helpful. Overall, boring. Just not that much to say on the subject matter

She is by far one of the most influential teachers I have come across. She is not one to force memorization and regurgitation of text material; rather, she institutes real-world application and pushes the student to be an overall better person. Very outspoken and intimidating, in a good way, and not for those unwilling to work.

Psychology 101 was the best class I have taken since I have started college (1 1/2 yrs) and Mrs. Dougharty the most influential teacher I have come across. She makes you take a look at yourself and how you percieve the world. She is insightfull, straight forward and one of the most caring people I know. I am very thankful she was my teacher!

For all of you who thought Mrs. Dougharty was intimidating, maybe you should ask yourself why? She was always straight forward and if you had somthing to say, you better be able back it up. She wanted you to look at why you thought and felt the way you did. It was more then a psychology class it was a self improvement course.

You have to read the chapters in the book, just like she tells you to do. If you don't you will be left behind during class discussions. She wants you to know the material and make your own connections. She helps you see how your opinions are affected by everyday life, friends, family and society. Every thoroughly enjoyed her class.

Good amount of work and research, but all of it is to help you better understand whats going on in the book, and during class discussions. Big project at the need of the semester. Fun and enjoyable really drives home what you have learned. Great Teacher!! Interesting and insightful.

No one liked her in my class and in the beginning i didnt either. she didnt teach psychology, she was touching on more of sociology and she was snooty and rude. but a few weeks in her and i talked and she really helped me out with some things and i realized she is really a great teacher. she cares too

Ms. D can be very intimidating at first but she's great she get into her lectures and gets everyone actively involved. Do not use your phone in her class. Don't be lazy. She treats her students like adults. When she says do an assignment do it even though she may not pick it up. Just do what you're told. I'm taking her again for EPY 2533

I personally thought she was an amazing instructor. She engaged every single student taking the course in one way or another. She can be tough at times, but as long as you put in your due diligence you should be able to pass. She truly cares about her students and is always open to help even after you are no long one of her students.

The first half of the semester is lecture-based. She tells a lot of stories to make the lectures more interesting. The second half of the semester is more student-teaching. She assigns group presentations, and the students basically teach each other with her help. Loved this class. She keeps it interesting.

If you pay attention, complete assigned assignments, and participate as required, you will pass with an easy A!!!!!!

I have Miss. Dougharty on 2 occasions and enjoyed each class. She is tough but you learn in her class and thats what really matters. She gives alot of homework so be prepared.

I took a good amount of her classes and she is the most in depth teacher. She comes off as stern, but she has a heart of gold. Do not judge her by the first meeting. There are times when her class seems tough, but it isn't. You'll talk about areas that not many feel comfortable voicing, but it is done with the utmost respect. WELL WORTH IT

Mrs. Dougharty is the reason i am still in college and actually trying to better myself. After taking Pyschology last semester with Mrs. Dougharty she inspired me to take my education seriously and better myself mentally and physically. I am better because of Mrs. Dougharty and I can't imagine being here without her.

I absolutely love taking Mrs. D for classes. This is my third class with her, and honestly - I wish she taught more!!! She is very thorough in her class information and makes sure everyone understands what is going on before moving on to the next topic. She is an amazing person, through and through!

This was my first year to attend college. I am 35 years old. I could not have asked for a better professor. She made learning fun. I was able to retain so much knowledge through her teaching styles and techniques. She made me believe in myself and cared about the success of each student.

By far the greatest teacher Ive had. The way she presents the materials is wonderful and I LOVED the energy of the class. ::)))) If you you have to/want to takes PSY course, take hers! The only drawback was that it was a short class. :( This class can easily turn into a safe heaven for moral support from others and it will get very close! 10/10!!!

Very unique way of teaching and a super fun class. By the end of the class, you will know your classmates well and probably feel more comfortable talking in class. We had fun group projects, played games, and had little cupcake parties for people's birthdays. Highly recommend this class but don't take your phone out!!!! lol

Miss Mary is a fantastic professor. This was my first semester coming back and the way that she cared about all of us in her class was really and truest motivating. Knowing that I had a teacher that cared made me want to actually try. I am eternally grateful that I had her as an instructor.

She is more as a therapist than a teacher. She taught things very clear and easy ways to understand them. She had the best answer and advice for every situation. She deserves to be promoted and a raise.

We had a lot of assignments. Before finishing one assignment, there was another being introduced to us. I passed because I worked hard, but I won't be taking her again. The work load was stressful. I will say that you will enjoy the class discussions and if you're shy, you won't be by the end of her class.

Curious how any student with even a mediocre work ethic could give D a low rating. If she calls out a student, which is rare, that's because the student isn't participating or is in some way behaving inappropriately. By the end of the term, most shy students are comfortable in the class and are expressing themselves freely - enjoying the course!

I absolutely loved her andragogical approach to teaching. She offers extra credit btw. 100% would take any other class she offered solely bc of her!

Ms. Dougharty is the most kindest, understanding, and caring professor that I have encountered my first year of college. I have learned many valuable psychology lessons and life lessons within her class. My favorite part about being in her class was hearing all of the encounters that she had that related to psychology, they were very intriguing.

Took her 8 week in-person class. She was fair in the amount of work she gave in the 8 weeks. Instead of fitting 15 weeks into an 8 week period she cut out some of the assignments to be fair. I wasn't sure about her class in the beginning, but if you show up, participate and do the work then you will definitely get a good grade.

Be ready for class discussions. She gives extra credit for attendance, so do show up. Writing assignments are easy to follow, not demanding, and are relevant to psychology. The most difficult part of this class are the quizzes, absolutely study for them. In all, Ms. Dougharty's class will likely become your favorite.

Be prepared to participate and share in class discussion. Your input will be mandatory. Also, be ready for writing assignments. I suggest not procrastinating in this class if you plan on passing. Lastly, Ms. Dougharty is a very understanding and empathetic soul. Just know she will see through you if you try and take advantage of her kindness.

You must attend in person if you want to pass. The majority of this course is class discussions, which are entertaining. Writing assignments are easy. The hardest part is the quizzes, so study for them! Dougharty is understanding and lenient IF you are genuine; she can tell. In all, Ms. Dougharty's class will likely become your favorite.

Professor Dougharty is an assertive teacher. Most work you'll do is online assignments and class participation. Do online assignments as soon as possible. During class participation, be loud enough because she may have a difficult time hearing. Although she may sound tense and is from the old generation, she is caring. That is about it.

As a student in this class I enjoyed every moment in the class. Every Thursday I looked forward to learn something different from her. The wise words that she taught the class was very informational and I will personally keep it in the back of mind for when I need inspiration. This teacher does their classes differently than most requiring students to actively participate, which I think is a good thing but not everyone likes that type of class. She assigns many assignments that require your thoughts and opinions, but the actual assignments are not extremely hard.
