Very easy class. I shutter to think that there are people that fail her class. If you plan on going on in math, pass on Prof Ward. She skips the hard problems so that everyone will get good grades. Extremely nice person and willing to help whenever needed. Ended up with over 110% in her class. ;)

Recomended! Nice/forgiving! Struggle no-more. Use a 8 1/2 by 11 paper for notes (both sides: all exams, quizes). Understand your notes (writing, computations, relevancy to exam Q's). Lots of X-tra credit. Study returned Quizes, HW, & Tests. HW:given odd problems & chapter reviews (due on exam date). Exams: show work & or TI-83 path you took.

Best math teacher... open book/note for quiz and 1/2 page front and back for test... She make class fun. the way to teaches is very very easy to understand. *I hate math because i dont understnad it, but when i take her classes, i like math. Highly recommeded for everyone... :)

After failing Math 96 I took it with her and I am finishing the semester with a 97%. She is an AWESOME teacher who is extremley helpful and will do pretty much anything to help you succeed. Daily attendance points are easy to recieve but add up quickly if you don't go to class so be sure to just show up! She always lets out class early!

Great Teacher! I failed Math 96 and took her fall 05 and got an "A". If you stay awake in class, show up for her class and take all the extra credit options she gives to you....no worries!!!! I actually like math after this class. Class gets pretty booked up so you better crash early! MUST TAKE MATH W/THIS TEACHER!

I took her for 95, 96 and 116 during intersession. Very easy teacher if you show up to class. She makes math very easy and teaches it so you cant fail. Make sure u do the H.W and you shall pass. Hard to fail unless u put out no effort. I highly remommend her to anyone. Too bad she is not teaching mth 121

If you're getting a 95% or higher at the end of the class before the final exam, you don't have to take the exam. She offers extra credit, allows 1 page notes on exams. I'm done w/her class now and it does not get out for another week! No exam for me and A in the class. Take her! You wont be sorry!

Best math teacher.Lets you use notes which was great for looking up formulas.Very helpful and will explain anything if you don't understand something on your homework.She also gives reviews before a test.I didn't have a type of problem on my notes and I still got that problem right on the test.

Simply one of Mesa's best professors, no doubt. Took her class during summer semester. Reasonable amount of HW that you turn in on exam days. Daily quizzes at the beginning of class, tons of extra credit, and 20 question exams that mirror the quizzes, plus you're allowed a half page of notes. She goes above and beyond helping her students. Awesome!

She gives quizzes at the beginning of class which earns you points. Actually missing too many classes can hurt the outcome of your grade. It's easy to go from an A to a B because of this. Took her for Math 96 and she continues to teach in a matter that makes even the most math phobic student excel. I'm taking her for the third time for Math 121.

I took her PreCalc class during winter intersession. She is a wonderful teacher and is all about helping you excel and move on to the next course. She offers lots of extra credit and as long as you show up and do the work, you'll do great. She goes over all the problems you need her to and breaks everything down to the simplest of terms.

Took her for winter session. Personally I thought the class was easy. I barely did hw and just crammed the night before and still got a 98. Quiz everyday, but open notes. Two tests and one final. If you have a 95% going into the final you don't have to take it. For tests you can use a half page of notes so you don't have to memorize formulas.

I took her class over winter break. Her class is awesome. Give you extra credit on quizzes. Able to use notes on test. Only check hw to see if it is completed. There is NO way you can fail her class unless you don't want try at all.

This professor is top notch!!! She is organized, communicative, and extremely helpful!!! Grades very fairly!! Do your homework and know your stuff!! Get as many quiz points as you can and show up every day!!! The quiz points really add to your point total and you'll be glad in the end that you took them and scored well. Math anxiety? Take Ms. Ward!

BEST MATH TEACHER AT MESA...if your not good at math this is the class for you. Its a great class so much extra credit. The class is a little hard at times but a pretty easy and fun class. Ms Ward rocks quiz everyday but open book and open notes. Piece of cake. For the test you get to use a half page of notes. MUST TAKE HER EASY B OR A!

WOW best math teacher at mesa by FAR!!!!!!!!!!! Gives so much extra credit out my quiz score is 130/86! Quiz everyday but alot of extra credit quizzes. Tests get to use half a page of notes. Tests pretty easy somehard. Use notes and book for quizzes. Love this lady awesome teacher. Wish she taught other math classes!

She makes it almost impossible to fail the class with options for extra credit and points for everything. If you get a certain # of points before the semester is over you don't even have to take the final. She's really nice and wants people to pass.

She is a wonderful teacher, especially for those who are math-phobic. She offers so much extra credit and tells you what you need to know and what may be skipped over, depending on what your future goals are. She regularly calculates your grade so you know where you stand. I would recommend her 100%!

Excellent, kind professor! Very helpful! I got a bad start in this class but she was very encouraging and I ended up passing strongly! She explains things clearly and is very patient. There are no surprises or tricks on the exams.

Excellent teacher, she is very concerned with making sure that students understand what is important in Pre-Calc without spending unnecessary time on busy work. Notes are allowed on daily quiz and nearly half of the quizzes are extra credit. If you have a 95 at the end of the course you don't have to take the final.

If you hate math or are not very good at it, this is the best professor to have. I'm not a math person and I got an A in her class. As long as you show up everyday, take all the quizzes, and do the homework, she builds lots of extra credit into the class to make sure you get a really good grade. Crystal clear communication. Understands the students needs and provides a direct approach to calculus. Also, motherly and intuitive.

As stated, she's kind and understanding prof. Very easy grader as she builds in tons of EC, and truly doesn't want students to do badly. Not most organized, doesnt bring notes on powerpt., but her explanations are clear! You have to take a lot of notes, examples. Tests are much simpler than HW sets. takes "elementary" part of stats quite literally

You won't regret taking Prof. Ward's class. She's very understanding if Math isn't your forte. She's clear on what she expects of you, hands out a grade update after every exam, she explains concepts well and offers lots of extra help! Also lots of EC if you don't do so well on tests. Best choice in math professors at Mesa!

I took this class with another teacher and failed it. I took it again in the summer with Ward and got an A. Excelent teacher, gives lots of extra credit, and she gives out grades sheets after every test so you know where you are in the class. Excelent teacher, i recomend her to all my friends. Professor Mary Ellen Ward is a great professor.She makes sure that we get the material crystal clear and explains them "barney" style.This is not a difficult class as long as you do the homework and pay attention with what she teaches.She is understanding and very helpful if you need a little help with the problems.

The people that wrote negative things about Professor Ward, has to be because they didn't do the required homework and show up to class. She is a great teacher! You will DEFINETLY get an A if you do your homework and show up to class.

She is the teacher to take for stats! She lets you use a half sheet of notes front and back for the tests. She gives quizzes every class meeting except on test days. Make sure you show up every class because she will give points for attending. Tests are not bad...just make sure you study and do your homework. Do well and you can skip the final!

This class is so easy.She doesn't teach very well and makes a mistake on simple things at least twice a day,annoying. Most everyone leaves in the middle of the class. 4 tests one is dropped. Must take a quiz every day and they all end up equaling a test so that makes up for another test. Very boring and taught myself everything from book. easy A

Great teacher!! Any questions you have she will willingly answer absolutely clearly. If you need help afterwards she will gladly help during her office hours. Gives plenty of extra credit and will drop your lowest test score. Absolutely recommended teacher!

Pretty much what the last guy said, nice person...you will definitely pass. But will you really learn anything? Tons of extra credit and notes on the test. If you really want to learn math, she is not the teacher for you.

I'm not very good at math at all and I was able to get an A in her class. She gives a lot of extra credit and most of it is on the quizzes she gives in the beginning of class. She let's you have notes during the exams which helped a lot. If you attend class every day and do all the homework you should be fine.

Professor Ward is a great teacher! I can appreciate her dry sense of humor and her frank responses. She does offer extra credit and makes an obvious effort to help her students succeed. I was grateful to be in her class.
