she's a nice person
nice lady. but she is very hard. even the best students in the class didn't get an A from her. I don't know whether there is anyone get an A.

I think she is a very nice and helpful teacher. I took her esl 33a in year 2003, and I have learned a lot. I had good time.we had a wonderful field trip that fall. it is very wonderful experience. she always help you if you need her.
she doesn't want to give you a good grade.. most people got Cs or Ds. she will give you a lot of stuff such as 6 essays, journal and homework for every class. if you want take her class, it is hard for you to get A. I just took her class in spring. She's tough teacher but you'll learn sth from her. She always help student out if she/he doesnt understand. Lots of work to do in her class but that will prepare you to 33B. Take her if u really wanna learn English not because of A.
I like her,because she really is a good teacher in my opinion.shi is warm-hearted and kind.she always willing to give helping hand to her student not only in the class but also is the daily life.I am taking ESL122 now and I really learned a lot.

too hard. the way she grade the assay is incomprehensible. most people in my class got C or D. and her research paper is hard. she want you to have the source to proof what ever you write, even the very common idea which you don't know how to proof. and you will fail if you don't do that.
Just one word to describe: hard!I really had never been so frustrated on English before! It's hard for me to get her point,and she is very picky on some thing when writing essays, without it you won't get better than c.

I don't know how she teaches in transferable ESL classes, but my class wasn't hard. The problem was her class was so boring! She just went through our homework during the most of class time, and she can't stand students who ask questions. I wasted my time and money.
Honestly Ms. Crook is a nice person, she never get mad. The class is difficult to pass. If you struggle with your writing and grammar you will not pass.
i passed her class, BUT... its not easy..at the beginin is easy but get harder and HARDER after a while and her grade system gets a lot more harsh.. a lot of homework and attendance is prior.. SHE IS NICE, BUT she always think she is right.. you know.. professors think they are superior as a human, we are all humans beings.. wtf! peace

Mrs. Crook is nice but sometimes annoying.. I think her class is EASY and I got an A. Most students passed as a C b/c they got lower grades on their essays. They might blame her teaching style but i think it doesnt matter if you PUT SOME EFFORT in her class to get an A. Total 6 Essays including 1 research paper. Recommend her class to take.

If you make it non-credit, it will not be hard to pass. BUT YOU COULD REALLY LEARN IN HER CLASS! Make sure to follow exactly what she want in essays, come to her office hours, and let her see your effort. Then you will be fine.
SHe was a nice lady, but the way she explained in the lecture was hard to follow. If you select pass/no pass you'll be fine.
If u wanna take her class, u must be show up in class on time and u must stop by restroom to finish u re business before the class. She does't like that students go to restroom during the class. Also, don't even think about using or texting a cell in class. U will be dropped. She is very pickiy and conservative. Remember!show her to your efforts.
Total 5 essays. These essays topics are based on destination(reading book) And be prepared!!! u will be told writing first essay in first class. She not grade but still important. Topic is sort of why or what is eng related with u. Hopefully it helps my advice for u guys.

I love her. she's a wonderful teacher. about 5 essays and some quizzes in the whole semester + lots of hw. however, it's reasonable & you can handle them. she's fun and cares for her students. strongly recommend
She always comes in the classroom with a smile on her face.However,you will be disappointed if you think her class is easy to pass just because of her niceness.you have to work hard in order to get what you deserve.Nevertheless,I still recommended Mrs crook.Once you get a good grade from her,You will feel fulfilled.Her class is very helpful.

Took her class, and feel I learned nothing.Wrote a lot essays, but my writing wasn't improved any bit. OK, I got an A, but didn't feel it was easy to get A from her. Her class was a waste of time. U will have to spend 18 hours in the ESL center to do some activities besides doing HW. A LOT OF WORK, BUT LEARNED NOTHING!

IF you get D in first essay, so D will be your grades in next essay and whole class until it ends. She puts you into the mist and confuses you by the way she grades your essay. Fairly, i have gotten 2 D for first two essays. But then I figured it out that is my problems. Don't think you can get A when you lack the knowledge man. Mrs. Crook is really care about you all f u ask her questions. After reviewing grammar and my lack of knowledge, I have better grades, and I think it's fair. Take this class good for u
I took 33A and it was amazing! She helped me a lot. She doesn't give a lot of test . You have homework but she doesn't collect the homework. Ask her for help and she will give you all the help you need. Take her!

don't chose her class. If your writing is very very good. She has too much homework but it only 5 percents. She valued student's writing skill, if your grade under C+, you have to rewrite and maybe you can't pass the Final. She is picky,too. :(

Can not be late, can not go to the toilet during the class, it is cruel. You have to write an essay according to her request, otherwise, you will get a very low score. It's hard to get A in her class.
She is very strict, but you will learn something. Barely no homework. Quizzes for vocabulary in the reading book and chapter tests for the grammar staff. You will get nearly full credits if you review the knowledge. When coming to essays, just follow her instructions, and you will be fine. Overall it is not hard to pass her class. Recommended!
She is a good professor. She cares for her students. gives a lot of homework, but homework is always related to tests/essays. do your homework - tests and essay should be easy. The only negative point, unorganized. Long time for correcting things, mix up dates and assignments and is often not clear how she wants things. but would take her again.
If your grammar is not good, do not choose her class, she explains the problem is not clear, never give students good grades, difficult teachers

I really like Professor Crook. She is helping students to get ready for the other classes. And she gonna tell you good ways for reading and studying. I enjoyed following her to read a book, very interesting. If you really want to learn something, not just pass, choose her! We need to prepare to compete with native students. Dont miss a good teacher

Professor Crook instilled in me the work ethic to make writing a fun challenge. I underestimated how much I was planning to write in this class but the assignments and essays, on top of the reading, gave me the confidence that I could handle it. She was always quick to answer back with positive feedback and took the time to leave helpful critiques.
Don't take this class. Legit did not learn anything. Harder grader, and did not tell you where you could improve.
