terrible course and not the best prof either, although I hear she's better than Komiak. Not very good at explaining things and the assignment is way to long.
She's nice enough I guess. But there was no need to go to classes. I learned more when I studied at home. After all, anyone can read directly from an overhead. The course was really boring, but easy.
Wow, never been to such a boring class. I feel bad going, cause I always fall asleep. She also don't explain things very well!! trust me. Try and get a different Prof!
shes a really nice woman, very easy to talk to, but there is no need to go to class. if you have a computer at home your set. all she does for an hour and 15 minutes is ready off the slides.....one word BORING
No need to go to class, notes are online. Easy tests. Lots of presentations.
She will try here best to help you, but when it comes to going to here classes there is no need. Just read the book.

Good but she tends to just read us the slides that she has printed off from the internet. Overall she is pretty good. Very helpful and her homework, tests and assignments are not difficult at all.
Great prof, really stimulated my interest in business courses. Tests are very fair if you show up for class. She will tell you what is on it and she doesn't lie. If you choose not to go to class.... Well I wouldn't suggest it.
Really nice woman. When is comes to the notes, it's all on the website and in the book. She reads from the slides, but trys to make class enjoyable by bringing in guest speakers and video clips.
it isn't hard ot be a good prof for this course.. busi 1000 is easy! SHe reads the slides which are posted on her website.. but makes class a lil more interesting by bringing in speakers and videos.. she's quite nice, tests aren't bad..i recommend this as an elective b/c it's easy.. especially with
Meh ...you aren't going to die regardless...it is busi 1000....i enjoyed her class about as much as i would have enjoyed it by anyone. i don't think it is a course that the teacher matters with...it really is a trivial course

Good prof, very helpful..The course was hard though. I did it distance and if you don't know much about databases, then stay away from the course unless you HAVE to take it.

She was not a very good teacher keep sending us to TA when we had questions and the TA really sucked could not help us at all. Would not recommend her to anyone
She doesn't answer questions at all she just tells you to post to Web CT. The course has nothing to do with the project and there is very little help when doing it. Other profs had easier midterms.
Good teacher, could be a bit more personable. Nice woman in general though. Usually well prepared for lectures, should answer more questions and get a good TA...if she's gona send us to the TA make it a good one please!!! keep up the good work!!!(course was very challenging though...)
Doesnt answer question "to be fair to all". more like she probably just doesn't know the answer. One student told to "assume anything" on an exam. Talks about how she had to check all the SPECS in buying new COMPUTER BOXES. Class has nothing to do with project. Everything poorly organized.passed with 75% or so but course BITES, potential to be good
"Post your questions to WebCT" she says. Why? So her TA can answer them because she doesnt have a clue! Cant even answer your questions about the project, had to get the TA to stand behind her and she sat there saying not a word, cause she knows nothing! Get a teacher who knows something about databases for god sake! Her exams come from anywhere.
The course is terrible, every prof that does it gets slagged. I will say though, she should have done more to help with that rediculous access assighnment. This course should not exist, at least not the ways its designed right now.
She really has NO idea what she is talking about. The students know more about the computer programs than she does.

I took the course online and Mary was very helpful and always responded to questions and emails quickly!!! She does whatever she can to help!!! GOOD PROF, GOOD COURSE!!!
HORRIBLE professor - avoid if possible!! Lectures are unclear and totally useless. Seems to take zero interest in doing her job well. And provides no guidance on the major course project!
I have no idea what everybody is talking about! Nicest prof ever! The access assignment is graded super easy, her midterm is crystal clear, and her final is exactly like she tells you will be! Easy A! Just go to class for participation!
She's nice, but that's all she has going for her. Horribly organized, lack of guidance on the project.
She's super nice and down to earth and is also a really easy marker. However she does not respond to emails, and the class is extremely dull.
Probably the nicest prof I've ever had. Her tests/assignments are very fair also... The course sucks though (not her fault).
She was the most unorganized, scatterbrained profs I've had to deal with. I do not recommend taking any class with her unless you absolutely have to. Going to class just made me more confused in 2710 and half the time it didn't even seem like she even knew what she was teaching us.
Business 2710 is not a great course, no matter who teaches it.(Hard to get an A)It is a new course,& still has some glitches. Mary is a friendly lady. She is sometimes confusing and hard to follow, but if you go to class, and keep up on the case studies, it should not be hard to pass. She is very willing to help when you see her outside of class.

Don't get me wrong, she's a nice person but she's not the brightest teacher. I have never met someone so unclear and confusing in my life which is really annoying for students trying their best. I'd never take her again . It's a good thing 1600 is an easy course or I'd be shagged.
While a really nice person, her lack of organization makes the course very hard. Her "notes" consist of 10-20 words per powerpoint slide. Seems great until you have a test... she is incredibly unclear on her expectations for questions and seems to pull her grades out of nowhere. Hard to get full points on anything or understand where you went wrong
She's such a nice, friendly person. However, she is also the most unorganized, unclear prof/ teacher I have ever had in my life. Half the time I don't think she even knows what her expectations are for a test/ assignment. That being said though when she gave us a very unclear assignment she took it back to regrade it, which was nice.
She is such a sweet woman and she always does her best to help. The course is overall very easy but the tests are graded surprisingly hard. There are 3 tests but no final. She is sometimes unclear with her expectations and she is extremely unorganized and takes a long time to give things back. The assignments weren't bad and they were graded fairly
The course material was easy. But the course requirements were not laid out well, with criteria being changed the week before things are due. The due dates were also very loose as they would be changed a few days before the original due date. Tests and assig. took a long time be returned. E-mailed questions went unanswered days before due dates
Mary is a very sweet woman and does her best for students. However, she is unclear. The course material is easy. There is 1 individual project and 1 group project along with 3 midterms (No final).
Mary Furey is a really good caring person. I took her classes and TA'd for her. She wants people to do well but doesn't cottle them when they don't put the effort in. Shes tends to go on tangents during lectures but they help break up the class.
Mary is very nice but the criteria is never clear. She is hard to reach and is difficult to get a straight answer out of. I only had her for 1600, which is a loose course in terms of what is expected anyway, but it made what is usually an easy course a headache.
Lectures are rarely about the textbook material, she makes you work through problems in groups. That being said there is a midterm and a final, which involves textbook material, as well as the papers and a presentation. Easy marker, willing to help her students! A bit unorganized but overall nicest prof I've ever had. Do the work, you'll get an A!
Unclear with a lot of assignments. I don't really understand half the stuff were supposed to do.
I have never had such an unclear professor. I never have any idea what I am supposed to do or what I am being evaluated on. This class could have been an easy A if I knew what was going on. She is also extremely hard to reach.
Dr. Furey is the most unorganized person I've ever seen. It takes forever to get marks back, and she doesn't really teach anything. I went into the Mid-terms with no clue as to how she would be grading them or what she expected from me as she did not give concrete solutions to anything. It's probably in your best interest to avoid if you can.
The most unorganized professor I've ever encountered. Don't even try emailing her because she won't answer. The only way to reach her is to chase her after class. Literally. She didn't show up to half of the class presentations and didn't notify the class that she would be absent. A very caring woman, but she doesn't have a sweet clue what she's at

I know that previous posts are all against her, but I never had any big issues with her exams. I used to get good feedback. Its true she is difficult to reach in email. But I used to meet her after class, I never had any issues with that.
Shes a great professor by's. She is best to meet after class. As she takes longer to check her emails.
Mary Furey is a Good prof. I received an A in the course, though my average GPA is bellow 3, if I can get an above average on it, you should be able to as well. You just have to be content/relate to what she teaches. Intro to Entrepreneurship is meant to be an easy course for those who have interest in becoming an Entrepreneur.
Her grading and instructions are inconsistent. She can be very hard to get ahold of. She didn't really provide her own notes or any guidance at all. It was mostly just teach yourself.
Do not take her online class, its horrible. I found it very hard to receive timely communications feedbacks from her. Her course outline works in a untimely manner. It's so frustrating to explain that she doesn't understand that how her way of teaching effects students who are trying their best to keep up with the outline that is not accurate.
Really horrible marker, no clear guideline. Avoid her!!

She is a very tough grader, by far the worst at MUN. She is very unorganized with her time and leaves you with poor marks. Noticed the previous comments and it absolutely makes sense. Avoid her if you don't like to make a big mistake
She makes an introductory course, really hard for no reason, big mistake wasting my money behind her course. Thankfully I was able to drop one in time. I would avoid her!

Mary is probably one of the most unorganized professors at MUN. She would frequently mix up dates and come into class saying that we have a midterm when we didn't. You will receive marks for things you submitted at the start of the semester during the end, so you have no clue how you are doing in the course.
Professor Furey is the most unorganized professor at Memorial University. She adds nothing to the class and is practically non-existent. She posted the modules for the semester in September and disappeared. Terrible feedback on her assignments and exams, and a very tough grader. She will not reply to emails, so don't even bother. Avoid her...
Wrote her about a group project issue (1 member was MIA until 2 days before the paper was due) she got back to me right away and allowed an extension. She responded quickly to all my emails, and even gave me an extension of the final because I got covid, she is a human being who treats you like one too, which I find rare for profs. Highly recommend
Not bad. There were some moments where she was unable to provide feedback or post discussion questions "in time", but to accommodate that, deadlines were extended. Feedback was pretty good on assignments.
Dr. Furey did a good job with this course. Grading was a bit slow but that's honestly fair considering the class sizes and amount of assignments. Still don't really know where we stand in the course going into the last week but the work itself has been reasonable.
Mary is insanely disorganized and struggles to use D2L. Requirements for the papers are not clearly laid out, and she's a very slow grader. She spends class time letting us talk amongst ourselves instead of teaching the material. That being said, the workload is light, and she seems to be a fair grader from the few marks we have gotten back.
Despite being a fairly easy grader, Mary is incredibly disorganized and is not very good at using D2L. She does not prioritize answering emails and does not provide clear instructions for papers. She made this course much more stressful than it needed to be by barely grading anything and giving vague instructions. Would avoid this prof if possible!
Nice person, but does not give feedback in time to improve on the weekly questions. I had five done when she started posting the grades to the first one. Same as the midterm paper. I have not received that back to see where to improve for the final paper. She is unclear with some questions. Avoid if you want to learn something.
Professor Furey can be a bit disorganized, but the workload is reasonable. Grading may be slow, but the class itself is not too difficult. Unstuck ai was a great help for studying and preparing for assignments.
