Just come ready to take notes. Tests are based on notes and reading. Tests can be hard if you do not read and just skim. Curves a bit. Definitely a manageable class, though her lectures are so incredibly boring.

I took Gotch back during my high school years. Overall her lectures are from the book from what I remember. All you got to do is study & be prepared for the tests or quizzes she gives. But goodness the lectures are so boring! Just be aware of that.

Voice is extremely irritating. But she is a really nice person. Lectures are a bit disorganized sometimes, jumps around a bit. Overall decent though. If you have great attendence, don't bother buying the book. I never used mine, got A's in both classes. I'm not sure why the others think she's hot...

Easy class if you go over notes everyday...she's so nice, however, her testscore is on a small scale, so it may hurt your grade even if you only have one or two wrong question.

Clear and organized class. Ms. Gotch is very fair, and if you do your work, your grade will reflect it. I found her to be nice, she's one of the few teachers who keeps her office hours so she can help you if you need it.

Mary teaches in a very orderly manner. Nothing she goes over is irrelevent.

great teacher. easy tests, all mc from lectures except psych 4 has a few short essays questions. dont need books at all. takes notes from slides and study them. class is a little boring cuz she talks like Ben Stein (Visine Guy) though. highly recommend her classes.

Her voice is really hard to get used to, but she made the class very interesting. She was a replacement professor for us and I learned more in the 3 weeks she was there in the 3 months before. Excellent teacher, annoying voice.

Good teacher. Way better than Daprato so try to take her instead. A little more difficult, but far more interesting.

Biological psychology is bland, by all means, I felt like I was back in an antomy or worse a chemistry class. But she is a good teacher, the subject material is not. If you take notes and study/understand them you will pass the class. As a lot of others said you don't need the book, it is true. Just show up, take good notes and you will do well.

I really don't understand why everyone thinks Gotch was difficult to understand. Sometimes she was a little annoying when reading role but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. She's a really good teacher, I enjoyed this class a lot. *if you take notes you dont need the book*

I really enjoyed Mary Gotch! I am taking her again for Abnormal Psych! She made the class interesting and it wan't too hard if you payed attention and took notes!

Professor Gotch is serious about psychology but she is all over the place. It is difficult to understand her thought processes. Her tests are really easy and overall the class was interesting and fun. Easy A.

Mrs. Gotch is a great Psych teacher. But be prepared to do a lot of work in this class. Attendance is mandatory and you need to take really good notes. I also recommend taking Stats before taking this class. Trust me, it'll make a lot more sense.

OMG! she is so dope to me. it really depends on what type of stundent you are .. i have no prob. with lectures. but i absolutly hate homework.. and we were a aperfect match . i will admit its a little hard to understand her writing. but she is extremly nice and she explains well . we only had like 2 homework assignments! =] i passed with a A

Ms. Gotch has got to be the best Psych teacher I've ever had. My Psych 4 and 2 classes are with her. She starts out the lecture by asking or going over some concepts from the previous lecture to reinforce the material.Very helpful with questions. Does reviews before tests. Very genuinely nice. Take good notes,you'll do very well! Highly recommended

She does seem a bit crazy but her class isn't very hard as long as you do the review sheets. Be prepared to watch a lot of bad quality VHS tape videos in class though.

Class covers alot of information. May be difficult for those who have no knowledge of the human body. LOTS of notes, if you miss a day, its very hard to catch up. There isnt a ton of opportunity to make back missed points so STUDY! i loved the subject but not necessarily her teaching style.

Loved this class. It was definitely a challenge, but worth it. It's necessary to attend EVERY class because it's all lecture and you'll need to take lots of notes. If you miss one day, it will be hard to catch up on the next lecture. Every class I learned so much. Good teacher, she knows what she's talking about.

1st exam is the hardest, quizzes open book, no notes for tests but review sheets make those easier,lecture and videos no paper to write. she is a very good teacher. im taking her again next semester for psych 4 and 5

She is perfect for taking a one day a week 3 hour night class. Longest you will stay is around 2hrs 15min. Attendence is mandatory because you need all your notes to do the review sheet for each test. She gives review sheet answers prior to exam. 4 open note/book quizzes and no HW. Studied review sheet for about an hour b4 test and got an A.

Professor Gotch is a very pleasant instructor who enjoys seeing her students thrive. Her PSYC 002 class was very informative, and the coursework was relatively easy. No writing assignments were administered, save for four "fill-in-the-blank" review sheets approximately five pages long. Overall, I would definitely recommend her to other students.

She is really nice and funny. Test come from her notes and the quizzes are open note and book. You have to study, but its easy if you come everyday to take the notes.

I had her for abnormal psych and I can tell you I never been so bored when learning very interesting material. Powerpoints overlap with pysch 2 and 1 but its really hard to get a B or A in this class. C is what you will most likely get. Opps.

Four tests, four review sheets and four quizzes. That is your grade. Gotch is pretty monotone, but she's also been teaching forever. The cool thing is, if you take good notes on her lectures, you should pass everything-- easy. I never cracked open the book, and I'm sitting at an A. That said, attend class. I had 3 classes - Intro, bio psych, research methods; counseled me on courses I needed-I wasn't aware of AAT until she showed me online - she saved me from taking a lot of unnecessary classes. I thoroughly enjoyed her classes. Print power points & take notes there, read & summarize notes from book - Don't be absent and You will ace the class!

She's a pretty basic professor, I took her for psychology 1 and 2 and she taught them the same way. Her class consists of taking notes for lecture. Her open-book/note quizzes and tests are all based on those notes, i never bought the book for either class and passed with an A. I'd take her again.

Professor Gotch is annoying at first with her monotone voice, but once you get past that, she is actually funny and very good. Her lectures are based on her PP slides but you have to be in class to fill in the details. She gives tons of extra credit opportunities and her exams are easy!! Didn't crack the book at all so don't bother getting it.

Good teacher, very clear on grading and test/quiz schedule. She's funny yet extremely monotone. You have 3 quizzes, open note and open book on both. There's 3 tests, about 70 questions each, with a short essay response, and extra credit. Also an in class assignment on drugs. 3 study guides, and an easy drug worksheet in class. Best teacher so far.

Just looking at the Power Points without the lecture won't help you because she fills in the necessary info in class. But if you show up, it's an easy A. I found Gotch a bit hard to follow in the beginning but once I got used to her speaking style, she was very funny and clear. It's not hard to see she cares about what she does & about the students

Professor Gotch is a gem. I always felt prepared for exams because she is thorough in her lectures, and doesn't waste time with info you don't need on tests. All you have to do is show up, pay attention and take notes and you'll do well. I will miss her sense of humor and wit. I highly recommend her!

Professor Gotch is a great teacher. She has a couple quizzes throughout this class but they are open note/open book. She teaches from her powerpoints and if you aren't in class to take notes it may hurt you. Clear grading criteria. She explains the material so that it is easy to understand.

This professor is honestly really good. She's very nice, though monotoned, but once you get passed that, she's pretty funny. She also does what she can to help you pass! The tests are based off of power points, but she goes into more detail during lecture, so try attending. Book not needed, overall I'd take psych with her again. Also EC on tests

Professor Gotch is good overall but she is probably not a great match for everyone. If you have a short attention span or are not good at taking notes then I wouldnt recommend her. She is lecture heavy and my biggest critique of her is that she jumps around from topic to topic a lot and often isnt clear on what she is referring to.

She is very MONOTONED , but actually has a good sense of humor lecture heavy and will talk about extra unnecessary information. your grade is basically review sheets that she goes over in class, open notes quizzes and four test with if you really study are easy to pass. Overall very caring and will go out her way to help students!

very straight forward you know what your getting in to. you have four review sheets four quizzes and four test. If you miss class you can miss out on the details she mentions that is need to know or not on the power points provided. for me this class was great and non stressful. professor gets really excited and laughs at her own jokes I love it.

Her class was very lecture heavy but I didnt mind it. As long as you take good lecture notes and review them you will pass! There were 3 exams that were all multiple choice but they werent difficult. There was one DSM paper but lots of time was given for it and the instructions were very straightforward!

No zoom class so had to rely on ppts which was not updated for a very long time. But, overall it's an easy A if you study hard.

You dont do very many assignments throughout the course so getting good scores on the exams is necessary. All you do is you take notes on a PowerPoint thats been uploaded for you to read. Then use the notes to study for exams and quizzes. 3 Exams, 4-5 quizzes, 2 homework assignments. Dont buy the book, I have it and have never used it.

I've taken Professor Gotch for PSYC 2, 4, and 5, ending with straight A's. Her consistency is remarkable, and her slides and study guide prepare you well for exams. If psychology is your major, you'll love her!

I did her class online it was pretty straight forward. If your doing online yes you're teaching and studying at your own pace. I passed her class just reading the textbook and taking good notes. She does give power points and study guides. Just do well on the 4 exams and quizzes she gives and you can pass her class with an A.

She does give study guides and power points.Class is 100% self taught so manage your time well to give yourself enough time to study for the quizzes and test. I got B's on all my quizzes and A's on my exams and passed with A. Does follow accommodations.

She was genuinely one of the best professors I have ever taken!! She is very clear on what she expects, gives great feedback, and gives loads of extra credit! She is very understanding as well.
