She's a great lecturer and provided lecture notes online. Tough exams (lots of M/C) and some math intensive assignments. She typed lecture notes during class.
lenient marker with predictable question types on exams and assignments
very nice, and good on grade.
Lectures were easy to understand and follow. They wew quite boring, but you got everything you needed to know.
A very organized lecturer, with a very organized course homepage. Tests are mostly from assignments & lecture notes, but I hate the way she tests us on numbers (eg. how much % is this and that). Also a very energetic person who can talk endlessly.
Clear, concise, predictable, a good teacher - sometimes impatient. Ok? ok? ok? (her fav. word after every sentence)
great lecturer, very easy to follow, very thourough notes. not much patience, don't get on her bad side.
Really great online and overhead notes.
Astronomy with this woman is a breeze, because her notes are well kept and put on display every day. It becomes mindless copying. She's clear too, which is good. Don't get on her bad side. Trust me on this. That means no talking or cell phones. Trust me.
Easy easy easy. Had her for History of Astronmy. *yawn* Sit back, copy notes, leave.
Easy...a little -too- easy, I'm starting to think. But then again, not everyone's like me, wanting some sort of challenge. Knows a lot more than what's taught, though, so huge plus to that whenever I ask questions after the lecture.
Note-taking is a breeze, because she types out every word she says. Don't ask her "dumb" questions. Labs for Life Beyond Earth are godawful though- no connection to the course at all (how the HELL am I supposed to know what a fish's arm looks like?!). And the course isn't actually about aliens.
Excellent professor. Tries to make things current. Ease up, folks. 2004/5 is the first year for this course, so labs were hastily added on (I discovered). Overall, great course. To previous poster, course is Life Beyond Earth - not "aliens" per se. It's basic biology taken off Earth for analysis.
I was not impressed. Clear notes, YET class was a bore. She's moody.
she is good but marks questions quite hard.
She was bored, I was bored, everyone was bored with her lecture style. Easy course though. She was better then the second semester professor - yes, it was possible.
Her lectures are basically: you listen when she's talking, copy notes when she types them. Her exams have a tendency to fool you; some of the questions require a great deal of attention to detail ("When did so-and-so discover this: 1452, 1463, 1464, 1466?"). Her assignments and quizzes r easy, tho.
Moody, Moody, Moody. Super easy! You really do not have to show up, except for in class assignments, even then you can hand in you assignment and walk out of class. All her notes are posted on her webpage. No need to purchase text books. Stay out of her way and you'll get an A. her lectures lasts about 1hr 40 mins, then your free.
The class was good, but because of the TA, not her. She's okay i guess, but i had to either leave, or sleep in the second half, it was so damn boring. Also, make sure ur cell phone doesnt go off, or she'll give u a look that will kill u and it basically guarantees she'll eat ur first born children.
always willing to help, friendly and lectures where very interestign
She is helpful in the classroom and over email. Her course has some pretty easy marks, like the video quizzes and in class assignments. But other than that, she's pretty moody and can be rude.
Most boring class ever. Prof is ok. Not really approchable. Gives attiude sometimes. But nice if your nice to her i guess.
Well... Shes a pretty decent professor. Just attend all the classes (even if it is boring) and COPY all the notes she types! just memorize all your notes and you can easily get a good mark! Video quizzes are easy!
the class is alright, ur guarenteed a pass u dont really have to show up she posts everything on her website. the class is quite boring and her lecture style can get annoying (the way she talks) she thinks she is brillent teaching a bunch of idiots but beside that it an ok class
one scary ass prof who has a total attitude but her lectures are cool and the test is okay if u study
She is kinda weird but extremely easy. She types out all the notes and it is not necessary to read the text. Her exam was super easy I barely studied and got a B+. The assignments are even easier i got an A+ on every one, get Mark as a ta he is awesome. Take this course as your natural science!!!!
tests are hard. the multiple choice are confusing.
Prof. Armour is quite a character. The biggest pet peeve I have with her, is her attitude and poor choice of vocabulary. Within the first day of class, she ****ed at someone for walking infront of the class. How unecessary and high-school reminiscent. She tends to devalue everything taught outside of her "magnificent course". CONTINUED**
She's a cool prof. and is very nice and helpful one-on-one. The multiple choice on the tests are a little confusing (word-wise), but the labs aren't too bad and the material is really, really interesting. I didn't really want to take it before I enrolled, but I'm really glad I took it now. :D I'd definitely recommend this course.
The course itself is fairly dry, but Prof tried to make it interesting with practical examples. Quizzes & Multiple choice are quite hard! Teacher has very little patience & is quite lazy in terms of helping, etc....Decent course, but not great. Monitone teaching style, with intense sarcasm & putting down of other disciplines is a regular occuren
So arrogant
Do not buy the textbook, you will have no reason to ever remove it from its wrapping. Difficult to pay attention when she ends EVERY sentence with "M'kay" like Mr. Mackey from South Park. You'd have to try pretty hard to get anything under a B in that class. If you can't pass this, drop out of university right now.
Very clear and interesting lectures she is a very brilliant women, but she is easy to approach and always willing to answer any questions. She will not take #### from any rude and disruptive students, but this does not make her arrogant. So, who ever said she is arrogant probably talked through her lectures or failed the course.
Boring. Has an attitude. Doesn't know what she's teaching (It's spelled and pronounced codon, not condon). Easy class only because it's cut-and-paste knowledge. And for the love of God, get some new shirts!!
Very monotone but clear and concise. Don't bother copying the powerpoint, just print it off or memorize from the webct. To get a very good mark go to class because some test and assignment questions are from what she says. If you just hope to pass, just learning the notes at home is good enough. Never bought the book and still did great.
She's a good science teacher -she made me understand about colour. And, coming from an arts student who knows nothing about math or science, is a very good thing.
her lectures are pretty good and u can get easy marks by showing up and using ur clicker but as a person she's horrible. she doesnt care about her student and she has no patience to teach a 400 student class. oh and she makes me sick by the way she dresses....like come on u have a PHD!!
No TAs. No use of a textbook. Long, bland lectures. Does not give outline for exam, even when the content is so extensive. Assumes students understand all aspects of science, gives no introduction to topics & jumps right into confusing information. Overall, a very frustrating class experience.
Wow... B A D. This prof always seemed angry... ALWAYS. She seemed to hate teaching this class because she was always unpleasant and monotonous and generally uninteresting... Good thing the prof changed second semester or I would have failed.
She's pretty good. Easy, simple to understand, and moves at a decent pace. Exam was very easy. Don't have to come to class, just read the text and her detailed lectures. Also, she is more approachable than it seems. She'll answer any of your questions or concerns.
Easy. There's no textbook, only her notes (which are VERY easy to understand- and I am terrible at science). Never went to lecture except for quizzes and I got an A easily. She's also really nice one-on-one.
Never wanted to go to class, had more fun watching paint DRY. She knew her stuff, but seemed really angry all the time. Exams were all multiple choice. She provided great notes.
Knows her stuff, knows her students, and teaches to both. Lectures are crystal-clear, never shies away from a question, and--unlike some of the faculty who get shanghai'd into teaching first-year courses--not at all condescending or resentful of her students. An excellent teacher.
an excellent prof. loved the class. easy & helpful. would recommend to anyone. anyone looking for easy marks, take this class.
Good prof. Posts lectures (audio and powerpoint) on the course website. You only have to go to class 3/4 of the time and use your multiple choice clicker to get 10% of the grade (free 10% right there). Almost everything in the course is easy, got just above a 90, aka an A+.
took this class in summer, 3 m/c test 20% each, 24% for 6 labs, 9% weekly quizzes that are taken on-line, very easy and 7 for participation marks just for showing up to class. Clicker was a waste, but she does post all her notes online which is all you need for the test, and she post audio. Text is waste cause her test are based all on lec. notes
Very unprofessional and arrogent individual. She does not posess any interpersonal skills and is unable to attend to or value any concerns and/or questions students may have. Courses that she teaches may be easy with regards to content, but are made difficult and unpleasent because of her personality and poor teaching skills. Avoid this professor!
My first university class and it wasn't so bad. Not a hard marker either and actually quite helpful with labs during class.
Simply awesome!!! She is compassionate and knows her materials really well...no books required. If you want an A or A+ go for this class!!!
Not a very good prof: she is unhelpful and expects you to know information without defining terms, etc. Although the class is an easy A so for that reason alone, just take it!
She is a great science prof for new students and Arts students like myself. If you actually want to pay attention and learn, you will like her - she knows her stuff. She has no patience for disruption.
She herself isn't the most approachable or kind, but you can get an A no problem, which is nice for many non-science students. A positive is she has no textbook, only online material, which is great for students' checkbooks.
She explains the material very well and uploads her slides. There is no textbook and she presents the material in an engaging manner. She is extremely fair and doesn't bell curve. You can definitely get an A in her class BUT you gotta put in the work!!! Overall, great prof!
Armour is very unfriendly and despite my efforts to connect with her, she remained cold and doesn't understand the plight of the student to get good grades! I tried very hard in her class, to no avail! I thought we'd be learning about aliens but that is only a small part of the class. The rest is BORING!
Its so easy to get an A in the course even though the prof is unapproachable.. Very aloof... I think clicker is the biggest scam ever (to ensure attendance) so many lil works, do it all and get rewarded!
Easy natural science course. No exam if you do the tests. Easy assignments/labs. Although, tests are harder than you think. She's very organized, and she knows her stuff, which makes the class interesting. Lectures are online = recorded lectures as well as powerpoints. But she calculates your attendance through clicker quizzes. Overall, good prof.
I took this course online..ok? Assignments are much easier than they look..ok? Exams were based on the PowerPoints, so copy & study the slides, and you're golden..ok? Answers questions VERY promptly, knows her stuff, and you can get easy marks from doing the online quizzes..ok? I would definitely recommend this course. And to quote her again.. "ok"
She definitely knows her stuff. If you're interested in the subject you're gonna like listening to her. The problem comes when you need anything. She will make your life misserable only if she had a chance. Not approachable, not nice.
Boring BORING boring!! what could be an interesting course was made very BORING. She's rude and has no patience for students...PLEASEEE take history of astronomy with robin metcalfe and save urself the trouble with this rude professor!! Never again.
ok?ok?ok?ok?ok? I had to drop the class...couldn't possibly sit there and listen to her speak anymore ok?ok? maybe if she didn't say "ok" constantly it would have been more tolerable. HUGE attitude problem. ok? Pretty mean. Annoying to the max. Needs a stylist. Hope i never see her again. ok?
This prof was okay. She does have an attitude problem, she can be very rude. But her lectures are good, they're informative. The assignments were very easy as well. The exam was MC and short answers. If you have an interest in this course then you'll do fairly well but if you don't then it might be a struggle when it comes down to studying for exam
She wasn't amazing- but not bad either. She seems to know a lot about the field, but she seems bored durning her lectures. Her assignments are ridiculously hard, and if you don't go to those tutorials you're screwed. I do have to mention though, that if you commit to the course, and you're interested in it, you should do fairly well.
stay away!
ONE OF THE MOST DIFFERCULT CLASS THAT I TOOK! TOO MANY GRADING GAPS THAT MAKES NO SENSE TO THE FINAL GRADE AS SHE COMMENTED ON IT AS A MOODLE PROBLEM HOW COULD YOU HAVE A GRADE "B" BEFORE THE EXAMS & COMES OUT WITH A D! THE DEPARTMENT WAS NO HELP AT ALL UNTIL THE LAST 2 WKS OF CLASS FOR HELP SHE WAS NEVER AVAILABLE SHOULD NOT TEACH IN THE SUMMER
Unbelievably rude. Her uncanny ability to show no care whats so ever for her students is remarkable at times. The way she can argue and explode when you try and ask for assistance. Tread lightly as this woman has seen one too many episodes of Breaking Bad and thinks she is a force to be reckoned with. Avoid speaking to her. EVER.
great prof! knows her field! very interesting and helpful! just go to the lectures, study the materials and you are fine)I would love to take one more course with her!
Great prof that knows what she's talking about. Very interesting subject and you'll walk away learning something, not just cramming. Assignments are easy - 1 hr per assignment, 3 assig. total. Free 10% on online quizzes. Attendance is not mandatory at all, tests come from slides and there is no textbook. Easy A if you go over the slides a few times
dont ever take her class..! u'll die of boredom.. sometimes gets rude with students who just ask her one simple question.. her class is like watching some 1920's documentary..boring!
This class was very easy. There are three assignments 12% each, online quizzes worth 15% and final exam 55%. She was very good at communicating through Moodle. Her final exam was straight from the lecture slides. The 3 assignments were short and simple. This is an easy A for an online class. Armour was great in posting a lot of material online
GOOD TEACHER. STRAIGHT FORWARD. MARKING SCHEME UNNECESSARY, BUT UNIQUE.
OMG! She's rude and terrible! stay away from NATS1750, quiz/assignment every freaking week! her class is boring. always says okokokok.........uh..don't wanna see her on campus again after done with this course!
Great prof!!! knows a lot! very interesting lectures, she never reads from slides, she knows alll of the stuff she teaches!! keep up with quizes/assignments and you will be good! awesome course!
She is so boring and so repulsive. All she says is "OK" AND "UM." SO HORRIBLE!!! Unnecessary weekly online quizzes and so rude!
One of the rudest teachers I have ever had. Not personally to me, but when students went and asked her for help she would reply to them with so much attitude and arrogance that it was difficult to listen to. Easy course, you will get the mark you want, but good luck sitting through a year of one of the most arrogant profs at York...
One of the easier NATS courses, yes. But for most people she is a very bad prof to handle. She is very arrogant and is not very approachable. You cannot negotiate anything with her unless you have 100% proof that your claim is right. Her grading system is pretty fair and it is very possible to finish with an A. Course recommended, prof, not really.
lul I had no idea how I got a B in this course. Thought I would of gotten a D or a C. I got two 50's and a 68% on all three tests, but still managed to get a B. Just do all the easy weekly quizzes and find the answers online on the assignments and you will do fine like me. Oh, and also try to go to all lectures as you get participation marks.
Took this course online. The material was divided nicely and to the point. She posted everything on time and replied to questions promptly. Nice teacher knows what shes talking about. I enjoyed it and would take another course with her.
Wont help you even if you're right, so don't get into any trouble.
The podcasts were extremely boring and I eventually gave up listening to them. I only skimmed through the slides and still got a C+ on the final exam which were only mcqs. I still ended up with an A cause the quizes online and the 3 assignments were pretty easy . This is from a person with 0 interest in science.
Easy class. Midterm and Final are the easiest you'll find in university. Reading quizzes and assignments are straight forward, just be clear and concise for your answers.
The material of the course was easy. Quizzes were online MCQs and answers were readily available on the internet and in the textbook. Assignments killed me, her grading of short answer questions is complicated. Overall got a B due to one bad assignment whereas I could have gotten an A-. Not a bad option for a mandatory course
The worst Professor at York University, completely unreasonable, rude, arrogant, and any other synonym you can find for those words. You cannot speak to her, she will never accept anything and she is always "right." She was being completely unfair to me after the strike and had to take it to the senate to complain. DO NOT TAKE, she is horrible.
The best part about this class was that there were only 3, non accumulative tests throughout the year instead of an exam. All lectures are recorded and uploaded online and her notes are very informative. She is a great prof until you approach her to ask a question, in which I advise you to only do if it is vital. She made the course interesting tho
Material presented nicely but she refused to post syllabus for students and then there was no no more material to Learn 3 weeks before last class. She is smart but unapproachable and condescending to 90% of the questions asked. Not a great experience but interesting course.
NOT UNDERSTANDING AT ALL.
Extremely confusing content. Minimal help. Quizzes and assignments are also quite difficult. Overall, one of the worst courses you can take for NATS and this instructor is bad too.
The course IS easy, but expect to figure it out yourself/with your fellow classmates. Prof however, tend to be openly condescending. She doesn't help students understand the material/assignments very well. Wikipedia is her Bible. Exam is VERY easy (MCQs). Podcasts are kinda crappy and draining to listen to.
I like this class, the professor is okay but she gives too much work. This class is only six credits with 12 quizzes, 3 huge complicated assignments, 3 difficult tests. I don't recommend it for full time students. It can make you fail your other courses. Professor has too much rules to block students away. No available help, only google can help u.
Where do I start with this professor? One of the worst. Canceled class constantly, even when she said next lectures material was important, lecture canceled. Takes ages to get marks back to you. Rude. Tends to subtly make fun of certain majors and other courses that you HAVE to take and blames the lack of material taught in those courses on you
She's not the greatest at explaining difficult concepts like spherical harmonics. Quite a few assignments and readings. However, she posts sample questions that help you with assignments and her test and final exam were right from the slideshow notes and assignments. Textbook not needed. Would take again. B+ possible with reasonable effort.
She really embraces online which is fantastic.
She was not very clear or organized with the course and grading criteria so questions had to be over and over by different people to get what was going on. The content is fairly easy but the 30% for research projects require a bit of work. She is also kind of rude when people ask for clarification about the course...
This is absolutely the WORST class at York. The prof is rude & condescending. Class is poorly structured and there were tons of problems with the online platform. You often have to complete the WEEKLY assignments in this class before the lectures are released. No flexibility to go at your own pace. Worst online course, EVER!
in case of NATS 1570 the 3 online assignments can be a chore but over all if you pay attention, show up on lectures and are interested in the material it's hard to get a mark below B.
Don't take this class. Online formatted, which is banter!
Horrible rubric, horrible study tactics, very flustered literally all the time.
Her online lectures were terrible to listen to - screaming the whole time. Although she clearly knew the content very well, she was rude, condescending and unapproachable. The course outline was non-specific, the assignments were unclear, and the grading was awful! Worst class I have ever taken! AVOID!
Her midterm was very reasonable. The calculation questions and theory were directly from her slideshows. Exam was very reasonable as well. Assignments aren't challenging as she posts similar question examples on moodle. No textbook required. The readings are a little annoying to do but they aren't too long and they're pretty straight forward.
Dr. Armour is a weird prof to rate. On one hand, the tests were probably the easiest I've seen in my time at York. The textbook is not necessary. On the other hand, the grading for assignments is INCREDIBLY vague, and quite harsh. When asked about it, she was rather condescending and rude. If you have to take her class, try to not approach her.
Loved this prof. She's nice, she's passionate about her field, and in general nice to listen to. She definitely goes out of her way to help the students (supplies her own slides to students as well as the audio of lectures in case you miss a class or two). Material was manageable, though fast-paced. Interesting stuff. Learned a lot.
why does she always scream in her lectures? it's not that she doesn't know the material but she is so hard to listen to with her inconsistent tone. the assignments are vague and she's really condescending when you ask for clarification, then she marks you really hard. the exam was easy though.
The professor is knowledgeable, however, the expectations were very demanding for an introductory course. The weekly quizzes were tedious and poorly set up. The assignments were unclear and required me to extensively research and ask questions. The podcasts were annoying to listen to. I will not be taking any online courses at York from now on.
one of the worst classes to take at york. material is difficult to understand for non- science majors and includes mathematical calculations. The online format is a disaster and there are so many errors. The professor is non-specific, not helpful & not friendly. Podcasts are hours long. too time consuming for a 3.00. book is $$$. Do not recommend!
In any class you have be willing to work. She touches on key points in short podcasts that are better than 3 hour lectures. The content is designed as a tool to help students absorb and understand the information. I am currently taking her for the summer and her online course is enjoyable and the information is interesting.
Iam currently enrolled in this course, the content is okay and the quiz is not hard but the assignment was extremely confusing and the professor is little harsh and rude and this is not really personal because I took 2 Nats course, where professor are really helpful. Sorry but professor is unfair and bad.
Had to take this elective as most electives got cancelled over the summer term but I would avoid this course just in general. It had to be the most stressful course I've ever taken at my time at York.
Lots of assignments with a tough grading criteria that is not always clear. The online course page is very confusing
Great overall, knows the material, teaches it. Speaks directly, which some consider rude but in science it makes for clarity.
Ms. Armour is a decent professor, but only because she knows the material she teaches very well. Other than that, Ms. Armour's course has a tremendous amount of assignments, such as nearly 30 quizzes throughout the course, alongside more than 30 other smaller assignments. Mr. Armour also isn't clear at all re assignments and what she expects.
Awful professor, i do not recommend taking 1750 with her, way too many assignments for a first year course and you need to be very consistently active and studying the material at all times to get a decent mark in the class. She is also very strict and slightly rude when it comes to her exams.
The class itself was not too difficult however the prof always seems like she's in a terrible mood. She's very loud and practically yells the entire time she is lecturing. If you whisper to the person beside you, she will definitely single you out and yell at you across the lecture hall. Very hot headed, I do not recommend taking a course with her.
The online version of the course is pure chaos. She's created sub-topics which each branching off into more sub-topics and figuring out what has to be done is challenging enough without even getting to the content. Whereas the content is pretty simple and could be tested on in much simpler formats, it's unnecessarily been made complicated.
She's awful. Her tests and assignments are easy on one hand but she does not want to give good marks and that's why she will grade your stuff hard. It is very hard to do well in her class because her grading is not clear. TOTALLY AVOID HER CLASS AT ALL POINT.
For an online first-year course, the way its organized is confusing. Topics into sub-topics, then sub-topics into more sub-topics. A hard marker and sounds always unhappy in her lecture recordings. If you email her a question, she takes a while to respond back which is annoying.
Let me tell you guys, if you take this course, take it online so you avoid her in real life. Besides doing the final exam, please its not worth visiting her office hours or her in general. Course wise, the quizzes, topics, projects are somewhat self explanatory but everyone is always left confused for some reason - probably her clarity is off.
This professor is not type of professor that wants her student to succeed. She has heavy weighted smartworks assignment and quizzes plus in-class assignments that are graded differently depends on the TA and class participation. I wouldn't recommend this class even though I got a B+
Not a great professor, her grading system is not explained properly. Avoid her class at any circumstances. To many in-class assignments and they are not related to the course material at all. She just doesn't want her students to succeed, and this is not a bird course. There is a lot of information you have to memorize in order to pass the midterm
She's the worst professor I have ever dealt with in my 3 years at York. She is so rude to students who ask for help. This one girl in my class was having issues with a quiz and Mary attacked her publicly in the course forum stating she shouldn't have waited until the last minute.. even though the girl reached out weeks ago and didn't get a response
Pointless assignments related to GoogleEarth. Reading quizzes and smartworks quizzes are easy since you can find the answers in your notes or online on Quizlet/Chegg. The professor yells a lot in class, rambles on for too long and gets off track when you ask her something, her TAs are the worst TAs in history. Slow in marking, horrible graders, etc
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. This woman is just so boring her lectures are basically that crazy inner monologue of humans when contemplating something or just rambling about something in random burts and is quite literally like someone looking into the sky and talking to themself. When she speaks its just random bla bla. Do not take nats 1750, worst
Unreasonable. Harsh grader - I mean it. Strict deadlines with no accommodations - only medical. Incredibly unorganized, no syllabus, no defined due dates; due dates given only days before. Is incredibly rude, won't even say hello or goodbye in emails. Keeps having technical issues but is unforgiving of yours. Overall, garbage course and instructor.
She is very unnecessarily rude to students and is COMPLETLY unapproachable when you have questions because she WILL go out of her way to belittle you. Please avoid her as a Prof, unless you don't care.
She's is rude, and during covid the only way to contact her is through email and she takes days to email you back but when you were busy and missed a Deadline by 5 mins she will say it's too bad
Good Prof, lectures could be long and there are various in every unit. 2 quizzes 1 major test and 1 assignment, for every unit which is every week! you have till Friday to complete all the work. Honestly was not bad, she could come off a little passive aggressive otherwise was a good course, just a lot of work involved.
This course had alott. 3 quizzes, an assignment, like 5 peer edits due every Friday. if you can keep up those are not that bad. her chapter tests are marked extremely hard for no reason- and f you email for explanation she will not get back to you. she is..okay? I wouldn't recommend but its..Okay? ish
Strongly advise everyone to avoid taking any course with this professor.
It requires some type of talent to absolutely ruin the most interesting course at York University which she unfortunately mastered it!The course materials are amazing but her poor grading, lack of care for students, disorganized materials and messy exams/assignments turned this course to a torture! I hated this course with passion just because of her
The course itself is self explanatory. However, her instructions are confusing, she's a hard marker(same goes for her TAs). She expects too much on 3 short answers in 30 minutes and puts too much for a final project for only a S1 course. Your GPA will most likely drop and taking this course will cause unneeded stress
AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I REGRET TAKING THIS AND RUINING MY SUMMER.
The course itself is very easy, but the professor did not explain concepts too well. I got an A in her class by doing the bare minimum, and didn't open the book once. Don't be discouraged by the prof's low reviews, it really doesn't matter that much for a course like this. There were lots online quizzes but I found it very easy to get good grades.
I had her for nats1880 and she was an ok professor. The course had quite a lot of work but it was all tedious. She is a very strict marker and gets back to you very late. I would recommend not taking a course she teaches, but if you can't that's also not that big of a deal.
Professor Armour is an okay professor. Her pre-recorded lectures go into depth about each topic, and she does a good job of explaining all subject matter. She assigns weekly assignments, which are all easy and can be done within a few hours. For some reason, she can be slightly passive-aggressive when you ask questions, but she is accessible.
Very rude and passive agressive. Not to mention the students do more work than her. I cannot stand her.
She assigns so many small assignments that don't take too long to complete but are just tedious. She is an insanely tough marker so are her TA's. She is rude and mean when you ask questions then fails to actually answer it clearly most the time. She seems like she hates teaching and takes joy in stressing out students over an elective. AVOID!!!
I don't even know why I took this course. She seems nice and all because it's asynchronous. Reading through the syllabus and eclass, it looks useless with lots and lots of stuff to do. I dropped out because I got into another course that I wanted. My stress level has dropped a lot after leaving this course.
Take any other NATS course except this one with this specific professor. You do so much work for very little grading.
Doesn't use the textbook and the slide presentation are kinda bad. We'd have to remember 80-120 ish slides (1-3 sentences each slide or there's a lot of pictures) for chapter tests and the tests were just ew, like, unnecessary hard. Avoid if possible
In this class currently and the formatting of this course is terrible. So many things due. This is more work than all of my four other classes combined. I'm only staying in this course because Ive paid for the textbook and other things she makes us pay for on top of tuition. Not sure what I'm learning in this class at all. Terrible.
Horrible class and horrible prof. If you have a question she will give you a bunch of attitude. Most of our grades went missing and when we asked her for our grades she said that she does release students' averages. She also uses AI software to mark our assignments and 90% of our work revolves around utilizing AI instead of actually learning.
Save yourself!!! Do not take this class. This is the worst class I've ever taken. The prof is extremely difficult to reach, and the toughest of graders without providing any feedback. The layout is so messy, with things because due constantly. Do not take it!!!
Guidelines for assignments are confusing and don't really explain what is expected. Can be difficult to get clear answers from the prof and the responses can be rude. Assignments and tests are harshly graded with typically no feedback. Better off avoiding
She is so difficult. I swear do not take her class, her instructions are is unclear and she will not even waste her breathe before failing you. She has literally given people 0/30 without even blinking. The worst part was her instructions were so bad to begin with.
Avoid taking this class with this prof. It was so difficult for no reason and caused unnecessary stress. Instructions are terrible and unclear, the marks are ridiculous, and its a struggle trying to get in contact with anyone. York really needs to look into who's teaching these courses and would then see why the students grades are what they are.
Overall, a good professor, and her lectures are interesting. Some things could improve, though, such as the assignments and final project. Instructions are also sometimes unclear. On the other hand, she answers questions daily and is easy to reach.
I loved her class because there were no exams and this made the entire course overall easy. I dont think her instructions were unclear either they were prettystraightforward and also the overall course format was easy i.e u can always use external sources for help and if u fail to follow basic instructions then its on you not the professor tbh
DO NOT!!!!! Do not take her classes. It was difficult to reach her, and she didn't even respond to me, it was as if she was absent. She fails you and doesn't leave feedback on what you've done wrong. Wasted my time and effort for nothing but the sake of my grades. Worst course ever, EVER!!! She needs to do a self-check. Please save yourselves.
she is caring and this was an enjoyable class. some things lacked but it was okay
