she is super nice and really enjoys what she teaches
Keeps it real, keeps it understandable, keeps it easy..I give here an A+!

Best teacher ever. Very easy and so so helpful. Take this class
Great teacher, very nice and informational. EAsy class....
great teacher really cares about her students
great teacher
She's wonderful!
Awesome Teacher, she is great! She loves to step in during presentations and do your pres for you :) Wish I had her for every class. Only down side is mandatory attendence.
Tests are easy and final is from previous tests. Likes to interupt your presentations and pretty much does half of it for you. Downside: mandatory attendance but great otherwise.
Yeah she is very nice at times, but if you miss a tiny detail, then everything you worked hard for is crap.
Even though attendence is mandatory the class is easy and she makes it interesting. Little studying required for the tests. All projects are pass/fail but require not work to them. I did not even present my project but still got an A on it.
the best!! She is so nice, and makes you love hospitality even if you previously didnt. Very friendly and eager to help. Take her!!
great teacher!! easy class.....she likes what she teaches and tests are simple!
Very nice lady. Class is easy, dont have to study that much for the tests, final includes exact questions from the past 3 tests (which she gives back to you), she takes attendance but is understanding if you go talk to her

Very Easy class, you get up in front of the class for presentations and you have an A. TAKE HER, shes realoly nice as well
She is a great teacher. Her lectures are very easy to follow, and her tests only require minimal studying. One of my most favorite teachers!
Very nice and helpful instructor. If you ever have any questions, she is more than happy to answer them. You do have to do a few presentations, but they are easy. The tests are fairly easy as well.
Presentations and tests were suspiciously simple for majority. Ms. Ross is dedicated to helping students with questions of any sort and can really help with making contacts within the field. She rocks.
This is an easy class and she makes it hard to fail. Read the book because not all questions are from the notes. You final exam is a combination of questions from previous tests. I highly recommend taking her class.
great teacher, very easy class, really awful attendance policy. you miss 3 classes and you automatically fail.
truly she may seem nice but she can be cold. Myslef and others went to her for help and she had an attitdue like she knows it all.Even if you study hard, the tests are nitpicky on detail, and she can't help you b/c she didn't even write the test.
Didn't care much for her teaching. She wasn't around often for help and did carry some what of an attitude when one would ask for her help!! It wasn't awful so taking her wouldn't kill you!
I thought this teacher was great. Her test cold be a little difficult, but the final was easy because you just has to study your old tests which she gives you the answers to. Dont buy the book, Very helpful to me outside of class
Do NOT take this class as it is not required. No instruction is given, she yells at people in class and is in general rude and unapologetic when wrong. Have taken her before and wasn't fond of her but didn't especially dislike her. Now I do.
She was vey unaccomadating when i was sick. She can be rude, and is hard to get aold of most of the time, she makes you feel like you are an inconvenience, she talks about mcdonalds alot. however, she does have alot of experience in her field.
All she does the whole entire class time is yell at your group and make you feel worthless. She makes your group stand up in front of the class and explain what is being done for the event our class is developing and belittles us by saying rude remarks.
This class is not as easy as it seems. you have to read the book page by page to do well on the exams
The nicest lady ever! Makes class pretty interesting. Don't be fooled by her niceness though--you do have to study or at least review to get an A on the quizzes.
Wonderful teacher; Great person to know in the industry!
Worst teacher ever, not polite and whole class unhappy, either a new teacher needs to teach this class or the whole format needs to be redone.
If you put in the time and study, you can recieve an easy A. IF you dont study, then the exam will be tricky. Great Professor-With many opportunities. I recieved an A, but make sure you study for exams, not a cake-walk
Mary Jo Ross was an excellent teacher! She made the material interesting and even could relate most of it to her own work experience. She knew all about the material and would even help you if you asked for it. She just loves the subject so much!
Love her! She's so much fun. Pay attention and read the textbook. Class isn't that hard.
she was such an awesome teacher. she really helped me see exactly where i wanted to be in the industry. she's awesome and knows what she's talking about.
First day I sat in her class..I knew that I wanted to be in the hospitality field. Make sure you read the text...exams are soo easy. Final is just commulative and she gives you all your tests back. Show effort and just do all the assignments. She's also bubbly and makes lectures interesting!
not a helpful or nice person at all. only professor I cant stand. our other teachers rock, and the only people who like her are the ones who like an easy a, and don't feel the need to actually learn.
boring
As a teacher, she's not my favorite. Not as friendly as others, but overall it's an easy class.
Very easy teacher and overly lenient. She's extremely friendly and offers plenty of insight into class discussions. I recommend this teacher for incoming HFT students.
Great Teacher, Very Helpfull, Fun Class, Easy A but if you put a little effort into the class you can learn a lot.
loves to talk about herself, but gets her point across most of the time. I changed my major to hosp. man. half way through the semester. easy class, attendance is mandatory, pretty interesting though
I took the event mgt class. Beware there are two sections. I mistakenly took the service learning course. This was hard and alot more work than it should have been
She is unfriendly and can be unhelpful. She has definite favorites. The class was an event management class in which we were supposed to plan an event, but instead we did all the $%&#& work on the day of. It's super boring because u dont get through the notes..she just rambles.
not a good teacher. took this semester and delegating is an art form for her in this class, but last I knew classes weren't put into place for other people to do your work as a teacher. they are there to learn from. i learned to not take her again. not sure why she teaches, as there is no teaching involved.
I loved her! Soooo helpful, easygoing, interesting class.
Her passion for the field made me want to declare this as my major! Lectures were interesting, although she can be kind of snooty sometimes! Study for her exams!
Very fun class. Enjoyed it and made me want to be in Hospitality Management. Fun group project.
this woman knows her s***. Met w/her a couple times outside of class, very sweet lady. Her lectures can kind of trail off, get long, and sometimes boring. But either way, read the book. Not a hard class at all. Seriously.
She's completely full of herself. All she does is ramble the entire class, and she uses her students to do her work for her. A mediocre professor at best.
Shes pretty easy. Just go to class and take notes. Her test is mostly from those and she gives a pretty good test review. She does ramble in class though and she not that helpful if you go up to her to ask questions... she likes to answer questions with more questions. You have to go to class though!!! Other than that shes a pretty good professor.
Just read the book and go to class and there is no reason not to get a B. You dont need to study too much for the tests and class can be interesting.
Dr Ross clearly knows what she's talking about when it comes to the hospitality industry. Her lectures are a little boring but if you listen up you'll do fine on the tests. She is a hugh help when you need to work on your resume! Plus she is just an all around very nice person! I didn't regret taking her at all and neither will you!
Booooooooorrrrring. Very hard to sit through, its a common sense class. very easy, but she takes attendance so that sucks.
Class is extremely easy. She is boring and reads from her PPs. You don't need the book. Get it only if you don't pay attention to her, then you may need it for just to glance at before a test. ATTENDANCE is mandatory she will fail you if you miss more than 3 classes. She won't tell you either until the end of the semester. 3/4exams 1 group presentati
EASY EASY EASY! Just lectures but posts powerpoints online (only open the day of class) and she tells you to print out before class, you can if you want to take notes but its not necessary since the exam is online. Said no laptops but I see them all the time.
She knows what she's talking about but the class was totally unbearable. The lectures were painful to listen to but of course you had to go or you'd fail the class. Don't expect her to get back to your emails promptly, it seems like some she completely ignores. And watch out, she likes to give a test on new material the class before the final.

Excellent teacher for Restaurant Management. She has a lot of experience in the field and she definitely knows what she's talking about. However, it's not an easy 'A'. The tests are staright from the book, a lot of small details from the text. Must keep up with the readings! The lectures can get boring at times. A lot of extra credit opportunities.
I took the mix mode class. VERY easy class. 4 tests plus a final and midterm...online, straight from the textbook. Tests are open for 5 hours on days that the class is not on. So you must plan accordingly and you may have to skip another class to take the test.
Took the Mix Mode class and it was VERY easy. Attendance is mandatory but the exams are online. There are no large projects or papers to write. Some of the lectures in class were actually quite interesting as well. Definitely recommend taking her!
I really enjoyed her class and her lectures.I learned alot from the Rest.Man class.I recommend her class. Its pretty easy just read the chapters so when its time for the exam, you are prepared. The mix/mode was fast and interesting.
Attendance is mandatory and you can only miss one class without having points deducted. that being said she offers so much extra credit and if you take advantage of it all you will be set. i ended the class with 105%. The tests are online and directly from the book (not her power points) so you really have to read but as long as you do you're fine
She is really nice, but she rarely goes over anything pertaining to tests. Tests were all online, so I could use the book and a partner, but from what she told us, all the tests will be taken at the computer lab from now on. With no book, the tests will be HARD. I barely got a B+ and I had the book by my side. 200Q final. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT
Nice, but in order to get a good grade on the exams, YOU HAVE TO READ THE BOOK. She talks more about real life situations and can be kinda boring sometimes. We watched a lot of videos and she gives many extra credit opportunities.
She doesn't talk about anything that will be on the test. Don't bother taking notes in class. Attendance is definitely going to help your grade. For the tests, READ READ READ! It will help. Good luck with the final! It's 250 questions now...
Had her for both classes mixed mode. Class in mandatory but interesting, but not the same as what is on tests. Regardless, tests are online so they are easy to get an A on. I would recommend taking her for an easy but interesting class. :)
She is an awesome teacher, lots of knowledge in the restaurant industry and she cares about sharing important information with the class. The textbook is used for tests, which are around 70-100 questions long and then the exam. Which is like 300 questions. As long as u read the book and listen in class, u'll get an easy A. Don't use anyone else.
she is so knowledgeable. she has a lot of background in hosp. all it really consist of is 5 exams. done on line. a couple hws and lectures every class. sometimes she uses video instead of lecturing the whole time. super easy good class.
Professor Ross is good. Only one real assignment which is the resume. There are five exams which are online. Go to all extra credit options if you can. Easy class overall. A little boring though.
Lectures are pointless, just read the textbook and you'll ace all the online tests. Attendance is mandatory. She is helpful and resourceful so don't be afraid to ask questions.
BORNING! Nice lady but she doesn't teach a thing! Rambles and shows old videos in class. Learned NOTHING. Exams are book based. She puts NO EFFORT into teaching. I didn't learn a thing about being a "manager". RIDICULOUS course.
You will learn NOTHING! She shows videos, doesn't discuss what will be on the actual exams. She should not be teaching this course. Nice lady but clearly can't teach. Buy the book, read it, you will pass the class. Bring a pillow to class, its that boring.
Ross is a sweet, kind-hearted professor. She does not teach, and just plays videos. I had her for Restaurant and Lodging courses this semester, and it was the easiest semester I've had so far. If you ask questions in class (if possible) and visit her office hours, she will get to know you better and can find you a pretty good job. I don't recommend
She's super easy, extremely sweet, and really knowledgable about everything in the hospitality industry! I definitely recommend you get the textbook because you're going to need it!
Very boring class. Attendance is mandatory for succeeding in the course. A few homework assignments, one quiz, and six exams. Make sure to have the book with you at all times.
Only has 5 tests but all are on quizlet. Definitely recommend. Easy A.
honestly confused how anyone could have anything negative to say about Dr. Ross. TAKE HER! she is the most helpful professor at rosen i've had so far because she actually cares, knows what she's talking about, and will help you in and out of the classroom! and an added bonus, her classes are easy, and her expectations are clear.
This lady is a joke! You won't learn a dam thing in this class!Talks for 2min and then shows old videos from the 70's (so boring) for each and every class. You can walk in wait to sign in and walk out. All because she is lazy. She doesn't even teach at the Rosen college because she got kicked out. Like to sleep in class? Then take her.
Super easy class. all exams on quizlet. Her lectures dont have a lot to do with the material... more like life lessons and helpful advice which are interesting. give a ton of extra credit opportunities. Its a class that you dont have to worry about whatsoever.
This professor was awesome. She tells you like it is from day one. Show up to class, take the tests (which is from the book) do any of the tons of extra credit and an easy "A". She's a no-nonsense kind of person and gives a lot of life lesson information to make your career in the Hospitality field.
You have to come to class to pass this class but she doesn't teach anything related to passing the course. She just lectures on things happening in the industry.
One of the best professors at UCF. TAKE MIXED MODE! Textbook is available as a PDF online if you google it. Tests are word for word from the book. Got a 100% on every test and she lets you redo assignments as many times as you want. Gives extra credit if you go to eventsnetwork. No excuse not to get an A. Finished the class with 107%.
She was a visiting professor at FGCU when I took Marketing online. I messaged this professor at least six times throughout the semester and did not get a single response back.
