She is a great teacher who wants you to pass and gives you every opportunity. She lets you have a cheat sheet on all tests and the test are a maximum of 20 questions long...Homework just for doing it 5 points...quizes 10...no projects that class is pie. If you need it take it

Mrs K. is an awesome teacher. Helpful with any questions, inside or outside of class. The only chemistry teacher I have had that actually makes chemistry fun, to the point that you want to learn! She gives students more than enough opportunities to do well in the class. I would highly recommend her.

Great teacher. I had never taken a chemistry class before this and was a little weary. She kept it fairly simple and entertaining. I think I even learned a few things. :) Test were open notebook. Put in just a little effort and it's an easy A.

She puts everything you need to know on the board, so coming to class is a good idea, but she doesn't take attendance. Also, she is big into extra credit (she gave our class over 50EC points during the term).

Take notes and do the practice problems and you will do fine. If learn fast you can leave early. If you have questions you can stay and ask. The class isn't bad, you won't feel the need to skip. She is relatively funny and makes the class a breeze. Doesn't really work with u one on one so if u need extra help u better go to tutoring.

Best teacher I have had at SIUE! Shes a complete realist, and is there solely to help you out. She loves the material and is very enthusiastic- she makes chem fun! I never liked chem before her. She lets you use notes on tests, and rarely uses the book. She will also spend as much time as needed to make sure you understand the material.

Her chem class was 10x easier than my highschool chem class. You get to use notes on the test and she is absolutely crazy-funny!

Ms. K is by far the sweetest professor I have had. She really cares about her students and wants them to exceed and she gives you every opportunity. She is very funny and makes a boring subject fun. I would recommend her to anyone. Only downfall is she doesn't use Bb, but she will tell you your grade if you ask her.She says "how fun" "hot diggity"and "you're amazing" to almost everything.

Best introductory level chemistry teacher at SIUE. She makes the class fun and is extremely helpful. If you have no idea about anything in chemistry, i highly recommend that you take her class.

Mrs. K is great! Her class was something I always looked forward to because she makes chemistry fun and interesting. She uses real scenarios and facts for us to connect to the content and she's always making jokes. But, though she lets you use notes on the tests, if you don't show up for class you probably won't know what to write.

If you genuinely want to learn about chemistry, but aren't in a degree where you'll need more general education, Kaemmerer is an excellent choice. Easy to understand, easy to like, and easy to ask questions of. But if you're going to be doing a lot of chemistry, she may not be preparing you for the expectations of other professors.

She has a good rating here because it is super easy to get an A in her class. If you just need chem for gen ed then she is the best one to take, but don't take it if you need chemistry knowledge for later. I hardly learned anything in this class. I go to class once every 2 weeks and I still have an A in there. Her exams are same as the study guides

Miss K is by far my fav. teacher at SIUE. She is kind, supportive, and interested in our lives and in us as people. If you don't understand something, she goes above and beyond to explain it. Mary K is a fantastic professor. She actually cares about her students and that you do well. If you attend class, pay attention and do the homework; you will receive an A. She goes over all homework in class as a class, if you don't get a 100, it is your own fault. Attend class! you get extra credit if she notices people skipping. Take her course!

Ms. K definitely cares about her students! She is easy to contact (either by email or in person), and as long as you go to class and don't fall asleep, you'll get either an A or a B. She goes through several examples in lectures and gives extra credit pretty often, so it's definitely worth going. On the exams, though, you still have to try!

Ms. K is absolutely fantastic, I looked forward to her class everyday. She makes chemistry simple to understand. You'll regret being stuck with any other professor.

She IS the KINDEST person you will ever meet. If you are struggling she will spend time outside of class with you to help you understand!! She treats every person as people and not JUST students. Excellent teacher. Kind, helpful, and very good lectures. Funny and detailed in her explanations. Explains things in detail and usually with several different approaches if people need it. Friendly and helpful in her office also. Would highly recommend and would absolutely take another class with her.

Ms. K is one of the best professors out there. I went from taking her class to working for her. She gives study guides to help prepare for exams. The exams are clear and to the point, she never tries to trick you into getting the questions wrong. She is caring and genuinely wants to see her students succeed and will help them if they struggle.

Ms. K is my FAVORITE professor! She's so kind and really wants everyone to understand chemistry. I think that she makes chemistry extremely fun, and I honestly would suggest taking her class to literally anyone who is needing to take either Chem 120A or Chem 121A/121B. I've taken all of those classes with her and have gotten A's in each of them!

Ms. K was SUCH a great professor, she lays things out very clearly in the syllabus and the assignments are pretty good as long as you use the online book. The lectures definitely help too but the book is your greatest asset. I had a family emergency throughout the class and she was very understanding with the work and getting on track. Super nice!

If you take the time to come and show up Ms.K was the best teacher to me for my first semester of college. Would take her class again. Homework wasn't hard at all, and the exams were easy if you were in class lectures. Attendance isn't mandatory but her explanations help A LOT.

Professor Kaemmerer was great! I had to be absent for one of the labs and she was very flexible with the scheduling of my make up lab. If you reach out to her, she is extremely helpful and personable. The labs are also very easy, shouldn't have any difficulty.

I have taken the first section of the general chemistry course and it was taught by Mrs. Kaemmerer. Her lectures were very simple to follow, she provided guided notes for the students to follow, and she also goes over every question that we should expect to see on the exam. Her lectures are well balanced and organized, she might off tangent stories

Ms K is one of the best science professors ever! She explains difficult concepts well and isn't a tough grader. She is always looking for ways to give students extra credit and is extremely flexible and understanding! However, you are a biochem major I would recommend taking the class with a different professor, as she is not a strict grader.

Mrs.K is my fav professor so far! She truly does care about her students and wants everyone to succeed. She is against tests so she gives her "favorite" problems while going through lecture and worksheets. You also get a piece of paper to use on the exams and you can put whatever you want on them. You get extra credit for going to SI.

She offers great help throughout the lab and has example lab reports from previous years for us to use when making our own lab reports. The TA's are pretty lenient graders and she lets you get up to 2 bonus points per report. She tries to let you know what to expect for each lab exam too.

I loved Ms. K! She didn't assign any homework, aside from the group project. My only complaint would be that her activities were often a bit faulty, but that didn't affect our grade because the tests were open Internet and we were allowed to work on it with our classmates. She was kind, understanding, and funny. I would take her classes every year!

Mrs.K is AMAZING!! I had her for both lab and lecture and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. She prepares you well for every exam and you are allowed to use a cheat sheet. Honestly, lecture attendance is only needed the week of an exam as she'll VERY valuable information. She's a wonderful human and truly cares about her students.

She is very nice. She usually lectures at the beginning of class and then gives us a lab to work on. Each table decided to split into its own group, but you could work with anyone. She doesn't usually explain the labs or seem too prepared, but is an easy grader. She 100% wants you to succeed and gives great tips about being a teacher.

An extremely easy and laid-back professor. Assigns very little homework and isn't too strict on what counts as a right answer. Doesn't assign homework over break/missed days. Gives all equations on how to answer lab paper questions. Provides copies of past lab papers to assist in figuring out how she wants them done.

As a non physics major, her class was a breath of fresh air. I would highly recommend taking her if you only need to pass physics. On the other hand if you need to understand physics, do not take her. Mary K is a wonderful person, but is seems she is not passionate about physics. For physics majors a passionate teacher would be your best bet.
