Legner is a wonderful teacher. The only people that have problems are stupid and don't know math.
Legner is a fine teacher. For math2, half take home/half multiple choice final -- i mean come on now. Available during office hours to answer questions, even if they are dumb.
She in fair, yet easy. Makes math fun
Great

She is great and very effective.
This Lady's name should not begin with "Dr." she has no clue what she is doing nor does she care to help any of the students who are stuggling. From what i have seen she likes to talk about cops and horses...hmmmm???
Very difficult teacher. Her tests are completely different than her test reviews. A LOT of outside studying must be done to just keep up with her very fast pace.
She is a real nice teacher. She will help you when you need it but its still hard to keep up somtimes.
very hard class and can be kind of a homework nazi when it comes to grading homework. don't skip any steps or she will dock major points, tests and quizzes aren't to bad but pay close attention to her notes she writes down everything you need to know.
Legner is a not a very effective teacher at least in Linear Algebra. Her problem is she looks down her nose at everyone. Legner is smart and gives accurate grades but she is rude and discouraging. She needs lessons on treating people like people.
She makes sure everyone understands her before she moves on. She is totally fair. I didn't even realize she had a higher degree until I read the last comment. They must not be a good student.
Totally knows her subject. Lots of homework. Best math teacher I've ever had!
If you like teachers with structure and who fully understand the material take Legner. It is a lot of homework, but it helps. She is really nice when you ask for help in office hours. Her tests are fair.
Requires a lot of homework. However, she is a great teacher. I don't know what other people are talking about, saying she is unhelpful and rude. But if you are serious about the class and want to do better, you should visit during office hours. She is very helpful and understanding!
For the first time in math I feel that I know why we do things. She is a great confidence builder. I really like math now. That's alot to say for someone who is majoring in art.
She is helpful when you go to her during her office hours. A lot of homework and very lengthy tests. Her final was 3 hours! Her grading is weird because you really don't know what you're gonna get until the semester is over.
She is a OK teacher but I'd prefer someone that explains the subjects well. I was confused most of the time. She tends to get off the subject alot and ends up talking about Her Horses, therefore your class time is wasted
I like the fact she isn't a Math nurd. Every professor I've had doesn't seem to have a life. She makes math fun by us enjoying class. It's amazing, I'm learning math. She is well organized and gives great notes. When she sees that we are not getting it, she goes over it until we do. I hope she teached Math 11.
I find that many times her class is not very fun to be in. Not because she explains things boring, but because I keep falling asleep. I find that the way her assistant grades homework is a little harsh because it's not exactly our fault that we have other things to do... she always makes us show work.
Dr Legner is completely organized and very fair. If you have a problem with the way her assistant grades, if she thinks it was unfair she will change it. (although, it is your fault you have other things to do, duh-the person below) lots of homework, but there really is no other way to retain all that you are supposed to learn.
She has a sense of humor that is suttle. If you pay attention, she is not boring. I hope she teaches Math 36. I learned more last semester in her class then all my other teachers put together. Many teachers could learn from her.
horrible teacher. always late, very boring, hard tests.
Not helpful at all, nor does she explain things to you. She assumes you know the material already. She can be arrongant,as well as pompous. Registered users, respond to this rating
So far, so good. But don't take in early AM unless you hav lots of coffee...calculus + no sleep = no good
Wonderful personality
She is doesn't explain things very well. It was hard to keep track of what point she was trying to make.
she makes math so easy to understand and shes so relatable!!!! plus shes very very very helpful!!! shes really kick back! i love her!!! i HIGHLY recommend her!
she explains things just fine! you gotta sit in the front row though! im #1 in her class! i get things and her office hours help so much! wonderful personality! i recommend her very much! she is very fair!
I didn't get math untill I took her class. If a retard like me can pass so can you
highy recommend. if i can learn it you can too. very fair teacher
This professor was very unhelpful. I went to her office to get help and she kept getting frustrated and snapping at me. She never spoke loud enough to hear her and her overall attitude was awful.
good teacher. relatable. fair. wonderful personality. highly recommend. DO YOUR HOMEWORK THOUGH!! IT HELPS YOU LEARN THE MATH!! AND GET HELP RIGHT AWAY WHEN YOU THINK YOUR FALLING BEHIND! shell be there to help you succeed!!!if you stay ontop of things the class shouldnt be a problem
Fantastic and willing to spend as much time helping you as you need.
very helpful, wonderful personality, breaks down things easily. highly recommended
awesome teacher. she does sometimes gets off track to talk about her horses. its cool though. kinda laid back. the tests are easy. gives particial credit on problems and if you get it wrong she writes down the correct way step by step. that helps ALOT!! group work is kinda of annoying though. notes are VERY clear. HIGHLY recommended!!!
Cool tests.. Great personality, very entertaining... a little nuts... She is a great teacher!

awesome teacher. very willing to help you whenever you need the help. sweet
VERYYY VERYYY AWWEESOOOMMEE!!!!!!!!!! she's really nice + helpful. her lecture is really clear! i will take her class again for my higher math!
awesome teacher! Very nice and really funny! TAKE HER!!!
This teacher is not very helpful nor very clear. If you do not understand what she is saying and therefore go the her for help, then only thing she does the whole time is keep saying, "well I did this in class already, and I'm not going to re-teach you it." She asked on man in our class if he was dyslecsic because he didn't understand what she said
She is the best teacher I have ever had. You get your monies worth with Dr. Legner! She explains everything and know what she wants on her exams. I hope I have a chance to take her for the rest of my Math Classes.
Anyone who says she is not helpful is full of hooey. She dragged my math retarded *ss through this class with a passing grade and was nice about it when I seemed like a total moron. She is very cheery and fun in class.
She's a pretty good teacher because I felt like I learned a lot in this class. I highly recommend her if you are to take Calculus at RCC.
She is an okay teacher, she might seem a hash grader, but she is really nice in her office hours, and she is extremely helpful for homework problems.
She is awesome. Her lectures are clear and tells you what you need to know for the exam. I would definitely take her again and wished she'd teach in the university.
the best ever! shes so fun and helpful. highly recommended! i love her!
good teacher! would take her for any math class!
A+ highly recommended! take her!
She is such a nice person and a great teacher.I had taken her class for Math 1B also, and I learned a lot. She explains really well and she helps so much for the hw. I would recommend her to everyone who would like to learn and have fun at the same time.
She's nice but I didn't like her. Im actually a good math student I got A's and B's in the classes before math 35. I ended up with a C. Its so ridiculous how she takes points off of every little thing. I go to her for help but its the same as in class. She doesnt explain or teach she just writes on the board and talks to herself.
Finally I have a professor that doesn't treat her class like it is highschool. Legner really cares and understands, though won't put up with any sh... Too bad more prof's are not like her!
Good teacher. Boring lecturr, but its math so yea. Shes not linent. What help you with you grades no matter what! She ****** gave me a D. Now I have to take it all over again. So whatcha get is whatcha get.
She is the best math teacher I have ever had. Like most math teachers her voice becomes monotone after a while, but her lectures are crystal clear if you read your chapter before class or after class. Then go over lecture notes again, and you'll see that it is not her but you that likes to take the easy way out. Go to class very day awake.
Dr. Legner is the best teacher that I have ever had. The lectures are clear and she really cares whether or not you get it. She tries to do many examples (completely) and always encourages you to come to office hours if you don't get it. she grades homework, which is good, and you can recover lost points by doing HW problems on the board on HW days
First of all- she's not hot. Don't let that chili fool you. Second of all her class is pretty easy. She gives you free access to the math lab so take advantage of that. Plus you could get extra credit in her class. Do all your homework and show up and you'll get an A
There is a lot of good comments about her I just had a bad experience I guess. I had her for calculus 1A. This was the first semester she added web homework with her already assigned book homewwork so it blew. So much homework including lab assignments. She didnt show any concern for her students and really underminded them. In my opinion not good.
She blocks what she is writing no matter which side of the board she is writing on and no matter where you sit in the classroom. It can be tough to follow along in lecture because of this trend. She is very anal-retentive when it comes to showing your work and insists you show "all" work (even stuff that other professors say you dont need to show).
SO MUCH HW!! she talks like everyone knows everything about everything. She is a physicist but is teaching math and I think that colors her higher math classes. Maybe I'm just not that smart but I've never felt math retarded until now. It could be me, but for about 90% of her lecture I feel really lost.
Although I have no idea what is going on in her class and never have, when I go to her office hours for help she always patiently helps me. She is strict, but as long as you do the homework and do well on the tests you'll do fine.
Math 1A- am very good at math but found Legners teaching style a bit complex. She incorporates wed-assignments along with book work. ALot of homework. Must be in attendance if not a self-teach learner. Accumulated final. But overall, good teacher. Must keep up in order to understand material. And hey, there is always tutoring and her office hours.
Second time taking this course. I was greatful to have taken this professor. She is very helpful and uses lots of tools to help teach the material. She does give alot of HW but she also gives chances to make up quizzes and extra credit for tests. You must TRY to fail her class.
loooots of homework, but if you do it you are pretty much guaranteed an A. she is helpful when you ask questions. speak up when you are confused, and she'll go over the info again. good teacher, besides the big workload. but it's a 5 unit class so i guess it is to be expected!
Wonderful women
Dr. Legner Rocks! She knows her material well enough to be able explain them to others in a way that. aside from that i love that her class has so many points available that if you get lazy and slack off on turning in a couple assignments you can still pull the grade you want! I did and i still got out of there with an A
Took on-line. Videos great-taught by the book author. Assigns lots of homework, but if you do one assignment a day you can keep up. Daily office hours available and gets back to you by e-mail same day. Great class for a self starter-not for procrastinators. Love Legner-great teacher-helpful-wants you to succeed. Gives partial points on exams, too.
Dr. Legner is extremely intimidating but don't let that fool you, in her office hours she is SOOOOOO nice, and when I say she's nice I mean she is VERY nice. I came out of this class with a B and that's because there was someone in the class that hurt the curve :( I highly recommend her if you make this class your life, LOTS OF HOMEWORK!
She often confused herself with the material she wrote on the board. She refused to answer certain questions or gave answers that didn't explain much. She gives a lot of homework, but her explanations and example are hard to follow. She waste time telling bad jokes or correcting her own work on the board she's monotone and boring and she is NOT hot
The best
I hated this class. She confused the heck out of me the entire semester. She is very scatterbrained which made it very difficult to follow. She gives TONS of homework and you HAVE to stay on top of it otherwise, passing will be almost impossible. if you miss a quiz, she will let you make it up but you'll only get partial credit.
She is the best math teacher I have ever had in my life! She is extremely helpful and explains everything in depth. She does give out a lot of homework, but she also goes over it. And if you still have questions, she's always available during her office hours. I encourage everyone to take her if you really want to understand math.
Dr. Legner is nice but has a really monotone voice and unless you sit in the front row, you cant hear her. she doesnt have control of the class, and you never know what is due when.TOO MUCH HW! she does help though, during office hrs. and will go over any hw questions in class. will not accept late hw.. even if you were absent, or a few min. late.
I took Dr. Legner's online Math 35 class. I really enjoyed the class. It was a challenge because you have to teach yourself but as long as you work hard and watch the lecture videos you will be fine. Those videos help so much! There's lots of HW but just stay on top of it and you'll be fine! She gets back to you asap. Really enjoyed the class!
I enjoyed the class very much. i liked and hated your teaching style. i liked it because you were very strict in that you acted as though it were real life where one little mistake can make make a big difference. i hated it for the same reason for it effected my grade alot when i made that mistake. still, thank you very much and im so glad i passed
Awesome teacher. Do the homework and pay attention in class and it's a piece of cake.
LOVE..LOVE..LOVE..this professor. She has a strict curriculum, but I recommend her class if you are a REAL student. She invests effort into students and makes herself easily accessible(Use her as a tool to succeed!)I didn't get an A in her class but will take her again in a heartbeat. She CARES about her pupils' success!
Amazing professor. Very easy to approach if ever you need any help. She suggests you see her after class if you don't understand. The class is only as hard as YOU make it. If you do your homework and study the study-guide, you can ONLY do well in the class. TAKE HER!
Her class was very difficult. She doesn't make it easy, although she is always available if you need help. She goes through a lot of examples in class, but doesn't really teach the material. Homework is online and can be a bit tedious. You must do it all to do well in the class and study hard. Difficult class, but manageable if you work at it.
I just didn't get it; math & I are not friends. She is a great professor. I tried to take her for my repeat, but she now teachers in the morning. Very helpful, allows you to correct errors on quizzes to earn back points, offers EC.
Very good teacher, but a little scatterbrained and zones out sometimes. Explains things VERY well and also is helpful to students who ask. EXTREME amounts of homework. Very frequent pop quizzes, so attendance is very important. Do NOT take online hybrid class unless you are a math wiz!
She is nice and helpful, but the homework is hard. the test are easy, even tho the material is hard and she expects you to know what she is doing.
Avoid at all costs unless your arithmetic is perfect. This was my first B in any class ever because switching a plus or minus or skipping a step will get you an F on that problem. No late homework. She insults people for asking questions and will spend large quantities of time off topic. Good luck.
took this course over the spring, i thought it was somewhat hard. there was a lot of homework but test were not very hard. she gives you a study guide two class meetings before a test. If math is not your best subject than i do not recommend you to take her. do all the homework if you want to pass her class. some homework problems are on the test
Great professor, had her for the Spring semester She balances out homework so its not overwhelming, yet it is still enough to give you an understanding of the course Homework is online as well as a hard copy you give to her Extra credit is available She gives out Review Sheets 2 class periods before the exam which are somewhat similar to the exams
Took her hyrbid class, and it was so difficult most of the class had dropped by the second exam.
Avoid taking her class at all costs. Worst math teacher Ive ever taken.
1st web hybrid math class it was not fun. You better be on you game every class. Be good at taking notes. Expects you to check her work on the board, while you are learning new material.
I had a very bad experience with this professor and her class. I know that in other moment of my life I would be able to pass it but I had to drop her online class because it was way too much time consuming. She said it would take like 20 hours a week to do the work for her class, I said (for what I experience the first 2 weeks) more like 30 to 40.
do your homework she assigns a lot , do good on test, show up to class, and study this class is not an easy A but if you work hard and study you will receive the grade you deserve . Be prepeared to correct her during lecture
She is a great professor and it's an easy class if you can do the homework. The tests are way easier than the homework and she gives study guides that are exactly like the test!
I took this Professor because her time slot accomidated me. She isn't very approachable if you ask her a question during the lecture she tries to avoid your questions and makes you feel kind of dumb, and also gives you an nasty attitude. Also she is gone a lot and gives way too much Homework and gives you such little time and teaches way too fast.
Great professor! she loves worksheets, so be prepared for them. however, she gives enough time before it's due. she gives you a study guide and later the answer to it while solving the problems you need help with. tests are similar to study guides. she likes to encourage students. always answers questions on hmwk. take her class!! webassign is used
Took this teacher for math 35 and she was excellent! Very fair. She teaches exactly what's on the exam. I never had gotten an A in math before I took her class!
I took her math 35 class and overall it was excellent. She gives great notes and most of the notes are on tests. We used webassign and she's very approachable. We were given a full page of notes to use on the final exam. I RECOMMEND HER!!!!
She is the worst professor i have ever taken. she expects you to time your life around her class & homework. WAY too much homework. she is rude to her students and talks down to them. She is very very nit picky with all of her grading. DO NOT TAKE HER AT ALL COSTS.
I do not recommend Professor Legner to no one. Do not take her... she is very rude. She does not care for her students. She assigns homework everyday and 2 quizzes per week in total 24. There are 4 exams she does not drop any and a final. The homework is worth 9% and the portfolio is worth 5%. I highly recommend Professor JHON Grenfield.
Very tough class, but if you go & do the work, while spacing the homework out right (because there's a lot of it ), while taking good notes you will most likely pass. She is very available during her office hours, but remember this is a 5 unit course. I had the highest grade but it was a lot of work. Some extra credit ops an some pop quizzes
Strong personality, very direct. Gives a lot of homework and hardest variations of them as well. She over prepares you for her exams with her homework and requires you to participate during class. Over all she is a challenging professor because she wants you to master the material. If you are a good student and like a challenge you will like her.
Gives a lot of HW, but all worth doing them. HW and quizzes are harder than the exams. Not a fan of her teaching method of making the students go up to the board to put up solutions of the HW, but knowing that she can pick you anytime forced you to do the HW. Easy class, just finish all the HW and study them!
Legner is a strange professor. She may look intimidating, but she's actually quite approachable. She gives tons of homework and it's not hard, but it's extremely tedious. There's 3 exams, 3 quizzes, and 2 parts to the final. If you fail to do simple arithmetic or fail to use proper notation, she will mark you off big time.
Tons of homework due the next time class starts. Given 4 sections on Tuesday? Doesn't matter it's due Thursday. She is not very good at actually teaching, wastes precious lecture time making students go up to the board to do the last homework problems for half the class everyday, this 'class participation' is required and worth a lot.
Easily one of the best professor's in the college. She gives tons of homework, grades strictly, but also is very willing to assist during office hours. After taking this class with her, I can honestly say I am a better student because of her.
Simply terrible, lazy, and disorganized.
She is an excellent instructor. After taking her for Calculus, I was on of the best prepared students in Calculus ii. The best math instructor at the college.
Do not take!!!! Never take this professor. She doesn't do lectures well and her tests are too difficult and so is her class. I retook it with a different teacher and got an A.
She seems very intimidating at first, but she is very approachable. Gives out a lot of homework. Every assignment is due the next class session which makes its easy to fall behind if you procrastinate. Gives plenty of examples to help with homework.
At 1st I was worried about how hard this class would be, but she sets out a path that is very difficult not to pass at least with B. Dr. L is always there for u, the question is are u open to learn, if so Dr. L's class will be the class that best prepares u for transfer.
As a math enthusiast, taking her class is an awful and bitter experience: 1- She's very disorganized 2- Very tough on grading 3- disrespectful; she disrespected me at many instances during the semester even though I always respected and admired her 4- She doesn't explain anything and is very lazy when it comes to explaining. Worst professor by far
This Professor gives out 3 modules of hw (26 problems each) (must write down problems) along with a quiz due at the end of the day 11:59pm. Lemme say this for the ppl in the back. YOU ARE TEACHING YOURSELF! Don't do it...I'm so serious, even if she is the only teacher available wait until next term. You have been warned .
this professor is so unprofessional. i understand that with covid there could be some issues but we're all in this together. This prof had so consideration or empathy towards her students. can't explain good, we would ask questions and she would talk over us and answer passive aggressively. no worth taking, anyone else but her.
I signed up for her class and she had like 6 sections consisting of 15+ questions due in two days AT TEN INN THE MORNING ontop of wanting everything submitted in PDF format. This was all content she hadn't even lectured on yet. Honestly, I'm just really confused. What other explanation for this is there except cruelty and carelessness?
I took MAT5 which adds MAT 105, its support class. It was 2 classes w/ the work of 3 classes easy. She gives a ton of homework & expects it due the next class period (usually within 2 days). You to be at every zoom lecture which are super long and boring. She was very disrespectful to students asking questions. Would not take again
Registered for her class and it was online due to the pandemic. On our first day she was having an argument with a female student that was asking a question. Not approachable at all. Gives tons and tons of homework and makes her class very difficult. Don't take her!!!
terrible.
the most incompetent teacher I've ever had, she doesn't understand the technology she uses daily, because of this she will mark you down often for things that you cant control. On top of that when questions are given to her she is rude, disrespectful, and passive aggressive
She messes up A LOT on the whiteboard. She relies heavily on her notebook step-by-step instead of using her head when lecturing Calculus 1. She also assigns you lots of homework. The class before the test she assigns extra homework and told us it'd help with the test. It didn't. You're better off studying on your own. She's also bad with emails.
VERY tough but very fair. She works students hard but leaves them well prepared for when they go on. Cant say shes fun or that the class was a good time but the hard work left me well prepared to go on with my studies. When I left her class I felt I had good control over the course content.
Literally sitting in her class right now and she is just not a good professor overall. She can't lecture well in any capacity, and assigns way too much homework. She will assign 5 sections (16-20 questions each) and a quiz or two and it will be due on Thursday. She has no personality, and just doesn't seem to know what she's doing.
She is a horrendous professor with no respect for her students at all. I had read the negative reviews here before registering for her class but I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt... that was a terrible mistake. She is so unprofessional and tone deaf. Messy, sloppy, and lazy. She loves humiliating her students. Overall an awful person
Dr.Legner is a good instructor. She does give out a lot of homework, which at many times were very time consuming and difficult. Doing the homework helps with the exams. She does sometimes curve the exams, but it is not guaranteed. She gives out many aids, such as trig. identities and unit circle, during the exam, which were extremely helpful.
Do not take her, find any other professor. Gives entirely too much homework and rushes the class so it is hard to understand anything. Be prepared to teach yourself the material. Refuses to go over certain homework problems for unknown reasons. Graded on participation but there aren't many opportunities to participate. Do not take this professor.
Worst math professor I've ever had. Gives an insane amount of homework every week and are due before the next lectures. Lectures were so boring and she doesn't explain stuff well so you're constantly looking at videos or reading the textbook and you MIGHT understand better, which only adds to the time-consuming homework. Do not take her at all.
get another professor! a very lecture-heavy class and had us turn in the hw before lecture, she would say she was up late grading so why not have HW due at 11:59 pm?! took the longest to grade our assignments. basically had to teach ourselves with videos, would also get mad when we used outside techniques instead. attitude. not welcoming.
Dr. L cares about her students but she unfortunately does not teach well. I personally had her for a hybrid class, so maybe she's different in a fully in-person class, but we had ZERO lectures. We were expected to teach ourselves the material through the mountains of homework and quizzes she gave us. Everyone in my class struggled. Do NOT take her.
HORRIBLE!! She assigns homework as if there was no tomorrow. Hell of an attitude too. I took her hybrid class and she relied on videos from other people to teach us. She would take points off when we used other methods to solve the problems. Maybe if she taught or uploaded videos of her ACTUALLY TEACHING she would be a decent teacher.
She gives out more HW than most professors. This does make you really well prepared for the exams and quizzes. HW and quizzes are harder than the exam. She lets you redo the quizzes 3 times for the highest possible grade. The hardest part about this class was trying to stay on top of all the HW its always due before the start of the next class.
It is a very tough class with lots of HW every day. We had 4 exams, which didn't include the final exam. It took her a long time to grade our assignments after the due date. By the end of the semester, only eight students were left out of 33. She also has difficulty teaching math alone, not knowing what she is teaching. Nothing memorable.
what ever you do, do not take this class. She cant teach to save her life, and wont let us use any other method to solve problems. And wants us to learn methods she does not even teach. All she does is throw hour or 30 minute long videos and expects us to learn by ourselves and seems to like making a fool out of students. save yourselves
worst professor ever tbh. I only lasted the first class, & dropped once I left campus. She was not very clear on her requirements & expectations, she was all over the place, was reluctant to answer questions, & gaslit students. OH, & NO CALCULATORS. She allows them on homework, but for tests, she said "you should know how to do it". No thank you.
This professor is extremely rude especially when you ask for help. I already suck at math, but this made math even more difficult. And when I found more ways to solve a problem, ways I understood she would get extremely angry. Have an "open mindset" but fix on her way to do math or don't do math at all. Please for your sake don't take her.
Professor Legner assigns a lot of challenging homework, but it really helps you prepare for the exams. Utilize Unstuck study and the textbook to supplement the lectures. Tough class, but manageable with dedication.
Lecture is confusing and she does not spend time in class for student's questions or concerns about a topic. Hw is very hard and doesnt correlate to exams. Gradebook is mostly hw / exams. DONT take if you have a job and are a full-time student as you will need to spend MANY hours (aside from the hours of hw) teaching yourself every topic at home.
If I could have one do-over in life, it would be to not take Dr. Legner. A lot of homework. The lectures she gives in class and the notes she provides do not help. Tests are hard, the way she grades homework is odd, and your grade WILL be different than what's on canvas. Take her class only if you're prepared to teach yourself or hire a tutor
makes over 200k a year and lets PHD go to her head. crahh ahh teacher
Very unorganized lectures with unclear explanations. Participation grading felt confusing and subjective. Heavy group work was unhelpful for struggling students. Homework was graded late, often only received feedback on exams. The final exam outweighed consistent effort. Some exams are poorly aligned with HW.
