Mary Lou Avera is a very sweet teacher, but just talks too much. Her class can be interesting and boring at the same time.

I think that Mary Lou is a great person. She is very knowledgable in Management. She always challanged us to be our very best, and never to settle for less.

Mary Lou is very effective in making you think outside the box. She does keep in mind that there is a box and it will be needed for your future success. She forces you to realize that nothing will be given to you but you can accomplish what ever you set out to do. Mary Lou is a very effective motivator.

Mary Lou Avera has a great management program that can rival that of any college. An amazing personality and devotion to students is what motivates students like myself to finish the program and graduate. Her lectures are interesting and fun. Employers love, both my real world experience and management skills acquired in Mary Lou Avera's program.

I was taking classes for this same degree i just recieved in 2 years. I was very interested once i got in it and learned a lot. Ms. Avera, was not hard, but did not give away grades. You had to do your work and come to class. I thank her so much for cutting about a year off my degree plan i was on before she called me. Thanks Ms. Avera

Very good teacher & honest - the grade you receive is the grade you work for - therefore the less you work -> the lower your grade will be - the more you work -> the higher your grade will be.

Ms. Avera is an excellent teacher. She genuinely takes the time and effort to teach, guide and lead her students towards their goals. Very good professor, very passionate about her work, wants all to have the ability to be a good manager. Need to show up for class, points will be deducted for every classed miss and some of the curiculum is from material not in the book.

Mary Lou stays current with up to date research and laws. In her HR class she gives great examples of what you would want to do and not want to do in management circumstances.

It's nice to know I'm in a classroom where the professor actually cares about her students! We go to class to learn, but we also have fun while we're at it!

I highly recommend Mary Lou Avera's Business Management program to working adults that have a desire to earn a Business Management degree. Without this program, it would have been impossible for me to balance working full time while earning a degree.

Learned great theories but hard to put into practice in current job

Mary Lou is a great teacher. She definitely wants her students to suceed. Only downfall is she is sarcastic in a way that makes you feel like she thinks you have NO commonsense. If you can get through her crazy sense of humor you can definitely survive her! Great class. Lots of group/teamwork.

I am completing my 4th semester with Mary Lou Avera and I have enjoyed every semester. I learned alot during this problem solving and decision making class. I like Mary Lou's teaching style and I would recommend her class to those that are interested in earning a degree while working full time and are serious about learning!

This was the first course I took from Mary Lou and learned so much. While the class was several hours long, she was able to keep me engaged with all of the interactive discussions and activities. The people side of management is a really big deal and she is able to show the different aspects of that. I will definitely be a returning student.

The professor is great at engaging class participation and using real world examples. You will learn processes that will elevate your management skills.

Mary Lou always helped with any questions i had. She actually sits with you personally about talks about your academic status and what classes she advises you to take. She cares about her students and is very encouraging. She always goes above and beyond the call of duty.

The professor gives very clear cut and concise expectations. Participation and follow up are essential. She is a true mentor; she firmly believes in giving strong advice from a well grounded perspective. She doesn't babysit; she is there to instruct. How you approach this class is very important, as you will get back what you put into it.

Mary Lou should be required taking for anyone in business. I've learned so much in the time I've been in her classes. Real-world knowledge, real application to your business world - you will look at yourself differently, and be better for your employees and employers. Take her class.

This was my first semester with Mary Lou, I'm glad I had the opportunity to take this class. She is very transparent, you know what you are getting and what is expected of you from the beginning. Do the work and participate in class and you will pass. Dislikes tardiness & absences. whatever you do, don't miss the test deadline! no make ups!!

The breakout sessions are very long for the activities that are given. Most of the students do not even participate in the group sessions. The activities should not have breakout sessions discuss the activities as a whole class. The students that do talk do not make sense, just are talking to talk, or are the "know it all's" that says it all.

Mary Lou is a very fair professor who takes great pride in her profession. She continually refers to the syllabus to ensure your complete understanding of what is expected of you throughout the semester ensuring your success. The extra credit made a difference in my grade.

Professor Avera is a real stickler for reading and following the syllabus. She is mercilous in her attendance taking, and she will grill you with specific questions. However, she is very respected by her class and makes herself available for questions pretty much 24/7. She takes a personal interest in each of her students, and genuinely cares.

Encourages you to step outside the box and go for you dreams. Great motivator and no sugar coating. Gives it to you in a straight forward yet not demeaning way.

I think this program is really good for those who want to get real life work experience that can help understand and learn not just from the professor but from the experience of other in the class.

If you follow the syllabus EXACTLY and do the work as she specifically outlines you will have NO problems. She offers various ways to earn extra credit. Sometimes she goes way left field, but there are ZERO surprises. She tells you EXACTLY what is on the test. If you don't make the grade, it isn't the Professors fault...

The best out there who cares about her student and tries to help the best way she can!!
