This is a great teacher. Goes of her way to be helpful to her students. Tries to aid them in raising grade if neccessary. Very clear lectures and very clear assignments. She makes sure to keep you aware of your grade so far in her class.
She realy goes out of her way to help students. She makes test very clear. She seems to respect her students. If you take this teacher you will learn alot.

Shes a pretty easy teacher and she helps you out alot....plus shes pretty bomb so its always easy to pay attention where ever she stands in the room.
Marki is super sweet. She is very educated and has seen several different parts of the world. She brings her knowledge of the field and mixes it with her life experiences. The class is a come in, take notes, hear stories, prep. for test, repeat. I am a history major and she def. kept my attention:)
IT WAS VERY FUN TAKING HER CLASS. I LEARNED ALOT, BUT NOT ENOUGH TO PASS THE CLASS. GOOD TEACHER TO TEACH, BUT DOESNT TEACH ENOUGH TO PASS
she is a very clear teacher. The questions on her quizzes may be tricky but take good notes and follow up with reading from the text. The class is enjoyable, i recommend her if u have a bit of interest in how modern civilization in the west came to be.
Great teacher. Everything was organized and outlined, no exams were unexpected. Very helpful and always on task. She's hott 2!
She is really clear and fair. It is a basic take notes, read the handouts and do the wkshts class. Her life experiences alone are worth taking the class so combined w/ her knowledge of the subject, it is a very interesting class. Recommended for history majors or people that are just interested in the time period.
She is a very knowledgeable professor. Her test are fair, never suprises you with quizes. Her lectures are interesting and her life experiences enhance the lectures. A sharp, young women who is relaible and always on time!!! Also take her for Hst 2B, if you want to learn about ancient world civilization.
Who said history is boring? Her lectures are engaging and it is not boring at all. Most importantly, she makes good use of class time, her tests are fair, the museum project if so much fun. It is obvious that history is not only her job, but her life. I would consider taking her class first before any other professor on campus.
She is such a great teacher :) Her classes aren't boring at all and she is very helpful.
Really good lectures. Incorporates her travels into lectures. Tests are hard. Strict on attendance. Overall good class for history majors. Projects seem hard but are pretty easy
I love this lady! She really prepared us for the tests. She gave excellent notes and her class was really fair.
Tough class, but really good.
This class has tons of information in which you need to memorize. Lectures are powerpoints and the BOOK IS A MUST HAVE! or you will do horribly. Review session for test helps but a study guide would be more helpful. Class can be fun and interesting at times, but too much work. She grades tough. I'd recommend Wallech.
Great teacher, you learn while not being a boring teacher. Plus shes hawt. >_>
Her class is pretty good. I never purchase the textbook, but her other book, and still did good. Her lectures are from powerpoints and the things she say in her lectures are not on the powerpoints sometimes, so keep in mind for when your taking notes. I would take her again to improve in her class.
great stories, applicable experiences and travels make the learning atmosphere much better
AWESOME! akways funny and nice, lots and lots of notes so be prepared, but its all useful for quizes and test. Seriously the more notes you take the better, she has such a great flow and control of the class, highly highly recommended, all others suck shes very involved and gets you involved too by relating to current issues, not boring! Take her!
Test are straight from the lecture. She is a really nice teacher and very helpful. Take good notes and show up to class. Highly recommended.
she's the teacher that made me wanted to explore the historic site wherever i went in Europe and that's my journey begun, she's the inspiration one
Prof. Marki is super nice and her lectures can get pretty boring, but her stories make them bearable. It is definitely not an easy A... easy B for sure.
Runs the class like a clock, is very rigid, grades essay harshly, very hard to get an A even when you know a lot. Disappointing teacher and class. Take the course with another instructor and enjoy it with less stress.
This professor is great I highly recommend for poeple to take the class. I honestly learned aalot about history, the class req alot of note taking, some reading. I recommend not to miss class at all, shes fun, energetic, makes going to class a breeze!
This teacher is awesome. Just make sure to study, read the textbook, and take notes during the lectures. You'll be alright.
Great Teacher I have taken her twice now, she is easy to understand and gives you everything you need to know for the tests. You take a lot of notes. Everywhere she talks about she has been and has pictures of. She knows her stuff.
hard but a good teacher
I love, love, love her! I have taken a lot of history class and hands down she is the best. She incorporates reading primary sources, culture, language, and geography in her lectures. She is extremely intelligent and is well traveled. Her class is what made me get up in the morning. History is better because of her. Take her!!
It's amazing how much information she knows. The class is very well structured, mainly because she is very organized. Ask away because she doesn't mind answering questions. Just go over your notes, prepare by reading the textbook, and you will be OK. The best history teacher at the college.
She is the best teacher I have had at Long Beach City. Though you take lots of notes, you actually learn something. Take her if you have the chance.
She is an awesome teacher. I am sad that she had to go on maternity leave this semester because I really do not enjoy the substitute. Marki knows so much information about this subject. I really enjoyed having her as a teacher. It is important to go to class because everything we are quizzed on she talks about in class and is in your notes.
I LOVE MARKI! She is the most amazing and informative teacher I have ever had. You can really tell how much she loves history, and she made me want to be a history major. This is my second time taking her. I really wish she wasn't on maternity leave because no other teacher can compare!
Mary Marki is a great teacher! She makes history a fun subject with her interesting stories and lectures. Dont be late to class or she will get mad( totally understandable) Mrs. Marki never cancels a class also. Totally interesting class. Quizes are a little hard but the questions are right off her notes from the lecture. Very fun class!:)
i took her for history 2b and fell in live with history. i never liked history before. i took her history 2c class also material a little boring but what can i say ancient history is way cooler. either way she is an amazing teacher, she has really great stories about traveling and inspired me to change my major from biological sciences to history.
Love love love Ms. Marki's class. She loves what she teaches and has traveled extensively so she is always ready to share interesting stories and pictures. Her whole class is 4 exams (you can drop ur lowest grade), a few quizzes and BUNCH of extra credit. On top of grades all semester so students know where they stand and she is very organized.
I only got a C but it was still a pretty cool class. Haha.
If you want to take a class from an extremely eurocentric, Judeo/Christian leaning point of view, this is the class for you. You also get to buy the useless text that Marki and her cohorts put out- which pretty much mimics her power point lectures verbatim. Overall Marki is incredibly biased, haughty, short tempered, and self important.
Amazing teacher and enjoys what she does. A little self absorbed sometimes but fun none the less. Not to mention that she is easy on the eyes!
Professor Marki was AMAZING!! I've always liked History but she made me LOVE it. The class was so informative and fun. She's a great teacher and so helpful. I've decided to minor in History because of her and am taking her 2C class as well. She really is that good!
I loved her class, I love History. But its really hard, and she doesn't help you by highlighting whats important. It's a "just know everything" kind of class. Which is impossible based on the sheer amount of info. I was the only A in the class, and that was HARD to get I would have had a B if not for EC. Love her, but be warned.
Excellent teacher. Class was very interesting and she has so many of her own experiences to share which makes it more interesting. You have to work for your grade but not impossible to get an A. I am a procrastinator so I passed with a B. Overall great teacher!
nice and easy to understand do her study guide you will do just fine. keep up with your homework and you should do just fine..
WHY CANT I BE HER!? She's gorgeous, smart, funny, and adorably nerdy. She makes the class material fun but the tests are difficult but very doable. Use study groups you will get the most out of this class. lots of extra credit and turning in your assignments are important. amazing class!
Professor Marki is fabulous. She's encouraging and relatable and makes history interesting. I would take another of her classes in a heartbeat, it was a wonderful experience. Her assignments are easily graded, yet important to the lecture, the tests are easy as long as you take good notes and pay attention. Also, she gives lots of extra credit. :)
she knows how to keep a class enthralled. its an easy A if you take notes (pretty much just copy down the board) and do your HW which sounds a lot harder than it is,it's roughly 3-4 questions w/short answer response. lots of extra credit opportunities. tests are a compilation of your notes. def. taking her again!!!
Easy A, just have to do all the homework, attend class, and write notes. Haves plenty of extra credit to boost grade, drops lowest test score. Makes the class interesting with her travel stories
Professor Marki is a great professor. You can tell that she really loves history. It is very easy to get an A, as long as you put in the work!! Marki provides study guides for her tests. Advice: go to class, get in a study group, do all of the extra credit, and make sure to read her test questions clearly.
Love her! Taking her again for History10. She's passionate and involves us students in all lectures. She makes me want to learn more and more about history!
The best history teacher at LBCC bar none. The homework she gives really helps with learning more about the early 1500's. Everything on her powerpoints will be on the exams so make sure you're present. Professor Marki is everything I want in a history teacher; almost like the female version of Indiana Jones! Taking her again for 2C.
What sets Professor Marki apart from all the other history teachers is that she teaches with experiences. All of the things you will be learning from this class from India to China; she talks about her past adventures with those countries showing pictures and sharing her experiences from her point of view. Take her class and you will love it.
One of the best teachers i have ever had, hands down. This woman, is extremely passionate about what she teacher. she is a very interesting character, she engages her students to participate, she gives more than one example. If you pay attention, take notes, and just show up to class there is no reason why you would fail.
Passionate professor. Tries here hardest to get her students to do well and pass. Offers many extra credit opportunities.
Probably one of the BEST teachers i've had at Long Beach City so far, i love the way she teaches!!!! It is so easy to earn a good grade if you study hard and do what is asked. Totally recommend taking her... I will be taking her again for HIST 10 :)
Mrs. Marki really knows how to make history interesting, but this class is not for the lazy student who thinks he/she can pass by just warming up a seat. There are multiple quizzes that are basically tests. She will do her best to ensure students can pass, but every point is precious in that class. I studied, studied, and studied and got an A.
By far one of the BEST professors i've had in a very long time. This woman knows what she is talking about, she is very passionate about what she teachers and also uses great examples. She really pulls her students in when she teaches! I love this teacher, it is really clear to understand her, & all her test on based on her power points really rec
Professor Marki is the best professor I have had so far at LBCC. She is very enthusiastic about history and brings that to class everyday! She reviews before the test and as long as you show up to class and take GOOD notes then you should be able to pass. She is leaving for a year, but when she returns I highly recommend taking her course!
This is an example of a good college course; Marki knows how to balance the academic work. Initially I despised history, but her professionalism changed my approach to history. She also includes relevant life experiences that make lectures more interesting. Go to class, pay attention, read the book & do the study guide! Test difficulty depends on u
Best history professor i've ever had. She makes the material easy to grasp and you can tell she really cares about the subject.
She is a wonderful professor that knows her stuff! Her class is intense but you learn so much about the world. She also offers tutoring and a Supplemental Instructor that helps you out a lot!!!! Take advantage of any help Professor Marki gives you including the very few extra credits and tutoring.
She is a nice professor and knows exactly what she is talking about. However, her exams are too general and she does not narrow it down to what she is expecting. The notes are not very specific, which is why it makes exams harder. I am not a history person, but I took the chance and took this class, and it reminded me of why I do not like history.
Material was ok, teaches opinion and in her 2B class it's basically woman's history. If you want a history class that's taught incredibly biased and listen to long pointless stories about her trips then this is a perfect class for you. Easy class that takes little to no effort and enjoy buying two books that you don' need that she claims as hers.
I absolutely loved her class and her teaching style. She gives extra credit throughout the course. Tests will require you to take good notes and read the chapters covered. She is professional and organized.
My first history course, she is passionate about her major. her teaching skills are not the greatest, we had to take four exams she drops the lowest grade, her grading skills are not the greatest, for every test she has a study sheet which she does not mention until the end. her exams are too general and she does not narrow down.
Professor Marki makes history very approachable and relatable with her interesting lectures, personal stories, and easy homework and tests. Getting an A in her class should be no big deal. Just make sure to attend class, do your reading, and ask lots of questions. She is very kind and easy to talk to.
Mary Marki is a great professor. She teaches you with passion and wants you to pass. Her lectures are excellent and engaging to the point you want to show up to the next class and learn more. Her tests aren't that hard but you will need to study to get an A. Overall, Marki is a great teacher and I recommend her.
Her Grading is very crystal clear, generally the tests will make your grade. She's passionate and interesting. I feel like she makes it sound scary at first but it's not a hard class, just do your work. The only issue I had w/her was that she seemed to have a clear connection w/her previous students and didn't try to connect w/her new students.
Great professor. Tough on grading, and you have to do some significant reading in order to earn an A in this class. The positive is that she's open to giving extra credit during the semester. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE EXTRA CREDIT - It could be the difference between a pass/fail or an A/B. But she's one of the best on campus, so take advantage.
Her lectures were intriguing and easy to follow and she shows great passion for history and cares alot about long Beach city college/ students. She integrates personal and meaningful traveling experiences into lectures which were also funny as well. Didnt use the textbook too often but the cheaper book she requires is needed 4 her essay ?'s.
Currently taking Professor Marki for History 10 and it's the best decision i've ever made. Her class is super simple, especially for those who don't care for history too much. All of her homework and reading assignments are done online through MindTap. 4 exams (she drops the lowest at the end), midterm, and a final. Different book for final though
I took her 2B course last semester and just finished taking her 2C course this semester. Her lectures are very clear and enthusiastic, she definitely enjoys teaching. She gives many extra credit opportunities throughout the semester and offers other things such as: SI, workshops, history club. I will be taking a 3rd course with her next semester.
Professor Marki is an excellent professor. Her lectures are quite informative. She's very passionate about what she teaches. Sometimes she's wordy with her lectures but it is because she really loves talking about the stuff she covers. Her exams are not the easiest but they are doable. I learned so much!
Lovely lady. She will help you acheve your goal.
shes one of the few professors who care about their students and want them to succeed in her class, she is willing to help. I so far taken history 10, 2b & 2c with her & i loved them she makes u want to travel because she incorporates her travel slides with her lectures which helps build perspective and help you interact with the lecture topics .
I took her and boy is her class long. She takes being a teacher very seriously which is good but she doe t understand that 95% of the class doesn't like history. She gives a lot of homework and her test are long the study guide helps a bit but not that much. It's a lot of information. Did okay in her class but will never take her again
Love Ms. Marki!! She cares about every single one of her students and loves her job so much that you can tell she is happy to be teaching you!
Marki is an excellent professor. She teaches History with a lot of passion and although, I'm not a History major I was very interested in her class and took her a second time. Her exams are a combination of maps, research response, and multiple choice. This is not a an easy A class but it is not that hard, it's a good balance and very informative.
I think shes one of my favorite professor. She has traveled the world and is very passionate about history. I loved the lectures and she does care about her students. This isn't an easy A but she gives study guides and is very clear about what is on the tests. Her lectures made me feel like I was there in history.
Take professor Marki whether you love or hate history. If you love it she will make you love it even more & if you hate it you will change your mind. Drops lowest test score, text book needed. Semi difficult class but if you study and pay attention you will def pass the class. Extra credit is offered. She is very understanding if ur a good student
Professor Marki really cares for her students and offers various ways to get help in the class if you need it. She is really passionate about history and makes you want to learn. I will say that you have to really try in this class to pass with a good grade, but she will definitely help you if you need it. I would recommend taking professor Marki.
If you can show up to her class you can pass. Everything in the tests are in lecture and homework (not a lot btw). Just make sure you go over the notes real quick before an exam and you'll be solid. Also, her love for the subject makes the lectures super fun.
Very down to earth, has a great enthusiasm for history as well as the teaching part. She assigns readings and gives a clear study guide
She is one of those professors that really love what they do. She makes sure that she does learning styles for everyone. She wants you to pass the class with the best grade you can and she gives extra credit.
I have taken Professor Marki for History 10, 2B, and 2C; I enjoyed all three classes a lot! She is pretty lecture heavy (interesting), but not too much homework. The tests aren't hard because she provides us with a study guide, but the essay portion of the tests are a little bit harder.
Professor Marki's lectures are good she is very enthusiastic about teaching, in order to pass your exams you must take notes and go to class. She gives a lot of extra credit assignments. My only downside in the class was that she is a very tough grader on the homework and essay part of the exam. Don't take this class if you don't like reading
Professor Marki is a seriously great teacher. Like she should be at UCLA. She's super passionate and knowledgeable about history and does everything she can to help her students do well in the class, including lots of extra credit opportunities and getting to use a notecard on the tests. Lowest test grade is dropped. I definitely recommend her!
definitely helpful to understand the basic timeline of history, however she uses the consensus of how history is told, so do not expect any debate among certain topics. Assignments every week and she marks you down on anything she can find wrong which add up in the end. Extra credits usually cost a few bucks to watch a movie, uncool
loves to take off points from weekly assignments which are only a few points but really add up in the end. Expect to be marked down for grammar like forgetting to capitalize a persons last name. Study guides are very unclear for a test that is multiple choice; she makes up questions that are insignificant and not in notes. Plus I showed up everyday
it was ok. I showed up everyday, did all hw, except extra credit because she only offers movies that you usually pay for. I got a B so it was fine, but really think she takes off too many points. study guides are very unclear, but I still passed. she should fix the questions she does or at least teach it bcs she gives 15 random questions for nothin
very inspiring and enthusiastic, but has several problems. She gives too may assignments which she docs points for little things, her tests are multiple choice so expect to be deceived on at least 10-15 problems per test, and lastly she makes attendance mandatory which is 10 points, if you miss 2 classes, your grade drops, 20thC style teaching. smh
She teaches exactly like an enthusiastic high school teacher! I got to love her personality, but her teaching can use a lot of work.
She is a great person but needs to improve on how she grades her students. She should focus more on teaching the timeline of history because she has her bias. She takes off as many points as she can on each assignment. Her class is very easy though, I agree she is just like a high school teacher. (below comment)
Excellent professor. It is obvious she has a love for history and teaching, and gave me a better appreciation almost empathically. Lectures were engaging every time. She even organized an outside trip to UCLA to sit in on a lecture. I had the option to drop an exam, I dropped my final. Extra credit is offered even though it doesn't have to be
Many of these reviews mention the workload (about 6 papers throughout the semester) and the difficulty, but if you take notes and do the readings, the class is pretty easy! A few of the questions come from the readings instead of the lectures, so make sure you're prepared. She allows a flashcard for the tests, and the lowest test score is dropped.
Professor Marki is so passionate about History that it engages you to want to learn. She is clear, focused and keeps composure while lecturing. Anyone who likes to study History would truly enjoy and benefit from her class.
I love Professor Marki! She's really nice and her lectures are by far the most interesting. LBCC Is lucky to have her!
Prof. Marki is great! Take her class you wont regret it she is extremely caring she does everything she can for your success in her class and in life! I wish she was teaching other history classes I have to take because I would stick with her! She gives easy to understand homeworks just make sure you do your part and she will definitely do hers!
Absolutely amazing lecturer now that Ive had a more full experience of university lectures, I can confidently say that Marki is one who is knowledgeable and entertaining. Class lecture is infused with relevant travel experiences since everything is linked back to history. Very intriguing. Only downside is she does not teach in the afternoon.
Such an amazing professor and an even more incredible lady with travel stories related to her lectures
Professor Marki is definitely one of my favorite professors I took at LBCC. She is very clear to let you know what assignments are due and all her exams and quizzes are taken from the lecture material so as long as you pay attention in class you will definitely pass with an A. I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs to take her class.
Professor Marki was one of my favorite professors I've had! Her lectures were very intriguing and the assignments were a bit of a challenge but not too difficult. Some claim she's too tough of a grader, but I disagree. She wants to prepare her students for university by helping them cultivate their writing skills, and I found that very beneficial!
One of the best professors I've ever had. Super organized, transparent, communicative and enthusiastic in a way that makes you love listening to her lectures even while being online. As long as you pay attention to the lectures and do the small writing assignments you will get an easy A. So kind and passionate, an uplifting presence!
In her lectures, she was very specific, there was a lot of material in the lectures but it was useful to the tests.
Took professor Marki for SPRING2021, online with no zoom. The class was organized and filled with information, for both visual & verbal learners. The lectures were easy to follow and prepared you for the end-of-the-week attendance quiz. Lots of extra credit available, she responds to emails fast, and she sends out announcements for work reminders.
This is not an easy A, but definitely an A you can be proud of. Marki is incredibly passionate about history and that passion is highly contagious! Lectures are heavy, but super engaging! She loves to bring in tangible artifacts to really tie her lessons together. I highly recommend!
She had an entitled attitude and thought highly of herself. I would avoid at all costs.
I definitely recommend Professor Marki. Her class is lecture heavy but it is all related to the test. She is nice and wants her students to pass. Easily accessible outside of class and has a very organized Canvas page. I also appreciate the weekly reminders and messages she sends to us on Canvas. As long as you do the work you should pass.
good lectures, many chances for extra credit if you like history youll learn cool stuff
Professor Marki was an amazing professor. Her class is lecture heavy but everything is on the tests. She offers a lot of extra credit opportunities and definitely wants her students to succeed. She is super nice and you can tell she loves what she does. Would definitely take her class again.
Great professor! You do not want to miss out on this opportunity. The professor gives out lots of extra credit to make up and she is so passionate about her work. As the student you need to manage your time well, if you can do that then you're solid.
I do not regret taking Professor Marki's online course! One of the best professors on campus who still has a passion for their work. She is straightforward to communicate with and all her instructions are clear to the students. If you watch her awesome lectures, you have nothing to worry about. I recommend you take lots of notes! Have fun!
Would definitely retake her class! I was never good at history, but Professor Marki changed that! I got an A in her class! She offers a lot of extra credit and her quizzes were open note! She is so funny, kind, and knows how to travel! Just pay attention during her lectures because the quizzes and exams are from the readings and lectures!
I LOVED this class! This class was super fun and interesting! Professor Marki really cares for her students and the subject of the course. If you pay attention and take notes the class will be a breeze. The class was very engaging and fast paced which I personally loved. I definitely recommend taking her class and I hope to have her again.
Professor Marki cares for all of her students and makes everyone want to learn more. Amazing teacher, tough grader, but ultimately wants you to succeed. If you want a teacher that creates the best learning experience and talks about history with an outstanding understanding that is infectious, Professor Marki is perfect for you.
Professor Marki cares about her students' success and will go above and beyond to ensure that. She makes learning history fun and I would definitely take her class again. Make sure to pay attention to her lectures and you do your work and you'll pass with flying colors.
She makes you feel so welcome, I had a lot of fun taking her course. She offers many extra credit opportunities and makes the lectures very easy to understand. Take her classes
Professor Marki is one of my favorite professors at LBCC. She is extremely caring & actually wants to see her students succeed. The course itself was very easy. There were 2 discussion posts, weekly quizzes (answers all taken from her easy to follow lectures), & exams which she gives a detailed study guide. I highly recommend taking this course!
Professor Marki was great. All you had to do for classwork was watch lectures she posted and answer multiple choice questions weekly along with a few short responses (A few sentences). She had a total of 5 exams which were easily answered from the video lectures or Google. She even bumped my grade up at the end of the semester without asking.
I took Mary Marki for Spring 2024 in asynchronous. Assignments: Expect 5 tests throughout the semester, a few discussion posts, a couple of quizzes, and a handful of extra credit opportunities. Professor Marki sends out weekly announcements and cares for her students, towards the end I got a B+ but I asked to retake the final and I ended with an A.
This class is the best class I have taken in college. The coursework was laid out in a satisfying and easy-to-follow way. The lectures felt more like stories, making it easy to analyze the cause and effect of different historical events in the US. Professor Marki is also caring and passionate about your learning experience. Great professor!
Amazing professor! I took History 10H with her this semester, and it was enjoyable. The class is very manageable as long as you show up to class! She offers extra credit options throughout the whole semester as well. She is very dedicated to history and provides interesting perspectives with her personal experiences. Fun class to take.
She is outstanding! Videos are provided and extra credit! Make sure to do the discussion board and test before the deadline. Love her class would love to take it again. I recommend anyone taking her class!!!!
Great course, classes are very lecture heavy, but easy to engage with and follow along. Grading is pretty lenient, and the professor provides ample opportunities for extra credit. Overall workload is pretty manageable, with tests and quizzes being a large portion of your grade. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a more laid back history class.
Professor Marki is an amazing instructor who truly cares about her students' success. The class is lecture-heavy but manageable if you engage with the material. Helpful study tools like unstuckstudy, along with her clear explanations, made this course a breeze. Highly recommend!
LOVED THIS CLASS!! By far my favorite professor ever. Every class was always engaging and fun. Multiple chances for extra credit. She was always reliable with emails and she made time to meet outside of class! please take this course
I really enjoyed professors Markis class and I would recommend anyone to take it especially those who are fascinated by history and are even looking to major in it. Her lectures are enjoyable and captivating and always leave you wanting to know more on the topic, so much so that I often found myself researching at home after class. An amazing prof!
Her lecture videos are unbearable to watch. Her voice is super monotone and she sounds super bored so it's a hard watch. They are also super long and boring videos and just the way she presents herself makes you really not excited to learn. I'm already not interested in history classes and her unenthusiasm just makes it ten times worse.
Professor Marki is by far one of the best professors at LBCC. I have taken her twice, both in person and online. She is engaging and passionate, making it impossible not to care about history! The same applies to her online lectures, which are really hard to find boring lol...If you're planning to transfer, I highly recommend taking her class!
Lectures could be boring at times but were okay over all. Not too many assignments. Just watch the videos and you should be fine!
AMAZING professor!! She is very caring and understanding, and although my course was an honors course it did not feel like I had an immense workload. As long as you show up to class and take notes off of her slides, the work will be easy and fast to do.
Her class consists of about 2 assignments a week. One being a weekly attendance and the other some form of discussion or test. The work isn't hard but it can sometimes be a lot. Sometimes I forget I'm taking the class, so stay on top of your work.
I had this class in person and it wasn't mandatory to be in person but she does not upload the lectures on canvas so it is best if you attend, assignments are easy and text books are free and online, even if u attend lectures it is still recommended to read the online texts!! Also assignments and quizzes are really easy!!
She is my favorite professor I've ever taken a course from. Not much of a history buff but this course was so interesting. Work was easy to complete with help from lectures. Love how she's well traveled so you get a perspective of American history from different countries which was so eye opening. HIGHLY RECOMMEND TAKING THIS COURSE LOVE HER!!!!!!
Prof. Marki is an amazing history professor. Her lectures are clear, well-organized, and easy to follow, and she teaches U.S. history from a unique British perspective, which makes the class more interesting. She's patient, supportive, and truly wants her students to succeed. Highly recommend! We had an embedded tutor, which was a great help!!
Professor Marki is very passionate about the subject of history! I really liked having her as I enjoy participating in class discussions about the material.
Prof. Marki is amazing! She is very kind and understanding towards her students. Classes typically consist of a slideshow presentation for notes and a form of weekly attendance assignment. Quizzes and tests were online except the final! Highly recommend her class!
