Is a great teacher to have if you really want to apply what you learn to your actual life. It is fairly easy, but perhaps most important, the only class this semester that I looked forward to going to and did not fall asleep in.

All take-hm tests. Loving, honest, fun. Uses examples from her practice~you'll never have another class like this~You must take it!You'll walk away w/a better understanding of yourself and others. Her style of teaching s/b used by other professors.

Very compassiate and the best professor/intructor I ever learned under. She shows you that she teaches from a place where her heart does the teaching. Loved all of her classes. Best teacher I have ever had! The class is interesting and she allows for discussion. No book, but very clear about what you will be tested on. Take-home essay tests that involve basic ideas and your opinions. The class is very easy, but I also learned a lot about the topic and about myself. Very very nice lady!!

HANDS DOWN BEST PROFESSOR AT TOWSON! Very low key and relaxed. Exams are take home and therefore not as stressful. I learned more about myself in this class than I thought possible. She is very personable and approachable. She has so much to bring to the table. A MUST TAKE!

Michaloski is probably the best teacher at Towson. She couldn't have a better title! Test are mostly multiple choice, one paper, and final is not cumalative. She explains and give examples on ever concept. I learned a lot. The best!!

TAKE THIS CLASS! It is the best I've ever taken. She is an easy grader, but don't think you won't learn anything - she makes the subject matter VERY interesting. I learned more about Psychology from this class than any other, and also did better in this class than I ever have! Taking this class will be the best decision you ever made!

Maryanne is a pretty good teacher. Her test are not too hard. If you come to class, take notes and participate you should get a good grades. However, she thinks animals are more important than people.

Her class was interesting but i had her too early in the morning to pay enough attention. She was very nice and talked about her kids alot too. The class is an easy A if you study the notes. She speaks soft so you have to be quite. GREAT PROFESSOR!

truly my favorite class...Take her!! You really won't regret it, even if it is an 8 AM....seriously guys! I have learned so much and it is actually info that you can apply to your life not just meaningless facts...

Marry Anne was not my favorite teacher. The class was okay though. The test were not hard.I could never agree with her views. Too liberal.I wouln't want her to be my therapist.grading was fair. it bothered me a bit that she could not go through one lecture without using profanity. This class did not move me. It was just okay.

Michaloski is by fair the most amazing women. Yes, she is very liberal, but you have to keep an open mind. There is no text in this class which is nice. It was basically just us all talking about personal stories that relate to what is being discussed. She helped me through some personal stuff too. Take her even if you don't need the class!

I have never been able to comprehend psychology so easily than when i had her. She even brought in one of her clients with a multiple-personality disorder and was eye-opening! I haven't taken a Friday class for the past 3 years, but I am so glad I decided to take Personality w/MaryAnn! I truly enjoyed every class and looked forward to going. MaryAnn is such a special person & is so understanding w/all of her students. There's no book-we took our time going through the material and got so much more out of it. TAKE IT! :)

Excellent teacher. I never take friday classes and hers made it worth coming to. Take home tests. 5 page paper due towards end of semester but she let you pick your own topic. Take her if you can!!

Great professor Mary Ann opened my eyes to seeing things in a different waY. Yes this is a MWF class but trust me its all worth it the class is like a form of therapy. I wish I would have had her for Psyc 101. Two take home exams that you have a week to complete and a paper that you will ENJOY! Plus a final. YOU MUST TAKE HER CLASS!

What people say about her is very true. She is very caring and loves what she does. She is quite liberal and not based on heavy structuring. If you need a book and a clearcut answer to everything, she is not for you. If you intend to do therapy though, she is very helpful. Everyday I enter her class, I leave feeling ten times better about myself.

maryann is hilarious. her class is so fun and interesting that it goes by before you know it.

(Personality.) I got the sense that she is still trying to come to terms with who she is as a person and that she has a sense of dissatisfaction with herself. Teaching is not an appropriate avenue to figure this out. Easy A, but if you're a cog/behavioral sort of person, expect to roll your eyes a lot; she's very Freudian and humanistic.

Take her!!! Even though her classes are normally early, it's totally worth it. She is such a great teacher and makes the class so interesting. You never use the textbook, and tests are based off of class notes. Her classes are never boring. She even brought in a patient with multiple personalities in class one day! She is so awesome. There is no textbook and the class is discussion based. No lectures. One day we talked about food for a good half an hour just because we were hungry. One paper and three take home tests. She is great at answering questions and is so much fun that even though she taught on Fridays, you didn't want to skip her class.

Very interesting class. She talks about different theories & help you apply it to your own life. You basically learn about yourself as a whole. Sometimes I think she is kinda bias. When she say "I'm not judging but" or "it's ok to disagree," she laugh & it makes me question. Overall, good class.

Go to class and take notes. You won't have to touch the textbook. Her exams come from what she talks about in class. They are fairly easy if you just review the material and notes. Go to class! Three or more unexcused absences result in grade reductions (syllabus). Also, don't text in class.

Prof. Michaloski's main focus is on the class really learning instead of memorizing raw facts from a textbook. There is no text at all and only three exams (all take home) and 1 paper. She tells you in the beginning most people get A's all you have to do is come to class and share ideas. I loved her therapy style approach- would take her again!

If you have to take PSYC101, take her! She is awesome. Attendance is mandatory, but you'll want to go because she is so amazing! Tests aren't hard and everyone got 100% on the only paper. Not hard, and very enjoyable.

Very nice woman, class is relaxed and fun but she doesn't teach much material in class, she will start out on topic but generally just ends up talking about life in general. I pretty much had to learn most of the material from the book when it came to studying. If you study you should do fine. 1 paper 4 or 5 in class exams.

Take this class! I was a graduating senior this semester and her class turned out to be my favorite! She is the sweetest woman in the world! She makes class related to your own life, so everytime you go you get a free counseling session! More then a dozen times in this class did I leave thinking differently! I LOVED HER!

Mary Ann is great! She knowledgeable and super laid back. This class was fun and life changing. Definitely worth taking for an easy upper elective. There were two tests, one paper and a take home final. Like others have said, class felt more like a therapy session than a traditional classroom. She makes you want to come to class! TAKE HER!!!

She ROCKS. she only has one essay that she gave everyone 100% on, and a takehome essay on the final that im also pretty sure she gave everyone 100% on. i took psych in high school, and this class was SO much easier. shes a little bit hippyish and her beliefs sometimes contradict the book (she doesnt believe in medication) but shes great

Her class is amazing! She is super laid back and a bit hippyish, but still gets the information across very well. She relates everything to relevant things, making the class less hard than it could be. No joke I really enjoyed going to her class!

Her tests comes straight from her lectures. This is good because you don't need the book. This is bad because her lectures aren't very good. She often goes off topic and brings up controversial subjects. She also throws her view points on your extremely hard. I took her class and did okay. I wouldn't recommend her.

This is what I seriously think classes should be like. Instead of coming to class, being lectured at, having tests and moving on to the next class, you actually learn something about yourself and other people. She makes me want to come to class, something I don't think very many teachers have ever accomplished.

Mary is a very awesome professor.She loves participation and abstract thoughts.She doesn't want discussions to be boring,she loves them!She may write what will be discussed on the board but doesn't go in that order (its ok though she gets through it).The exams are more intense than discussions so be able to select multiple choice very wisely.

Prof. Michaloski is possibly one of the best teachers I've ever had! I loved her so much that I almost considered becoming a psych major because of this class. She truly loves teaching her students about what she is passionate about. Class is pure lecture but actually interesting, tests are multiple choice. Loves when you participate. MUST TAKE!

She is a great instructor! She is so clear and shows so much passion about it! She only assigns 4 exams (including final) and a paper(she gives everyone 100 on). This is good if you are a good test taker if not it will be okay because the tests are not that challenging. Second test is the hardest one and first one is easiest!

This class was the single most profound, life-changing class I have ever taken. She makes the material so easy to understand, and there are no "tests", just take home papers. Absolutely amazing professor and person. Every class felt like a therapy session. And it was very easy to do well. We had three take home exams that I got 100% on, and one final presentation on a celebrity personality analysis of your choosing. Can't stress enough how much I recommend taking this class. She ties everything into real life.

This woman is inspirational and an amazing teacher! Take her!!! BUT make sure you don't miss class. Also if you're a conservative, don't take her because she does teach a lot of liberal views, which I didn't mind but it def would have offended conservatives and I always wondered if there were any in the classroom cause they must feel so awkward

You have four exams, all of which are take home. You have one project where you choose a person and describe their personality. I thought it was fun, and the longest part was creating the power point. I've learned a lot of useful information to enrich my quality of life, and the personality theories are broken down and explained thoroughly.

I looked forward to attending Maryann's class. Some of the lectures were hilarious and enlightening at the same time. I thought the course work was fair. Copying the notes she writes on the white board helped me a lot for the exams. The exams are take home, come on, it can't be any easier. There is one personality analysis of anyone you choose.

If you read the chapters, pay attention during lectures, and participate, there is no reason you shouldn't do well. Maryanne is not a difficult professor and she makes that very clear. She actually loves what she does, so don't be afraid to participate and ask questions. Now, go and register for her class already, would ya! Lol.

My favorite teacher I have taken in my college career! I had her for personality and it was so interesting. I left so inspired every class and I learned more about humans than I thought i would. GO TO REVIEW SESSIONS held by proctors, they literally tell you all the answers and what is and isn't on test. easy A. she has fun stories. easy exams

You will be shout at in the middle of class to put it away. Phones and texting are her pet peeves for real!

She's understanding and very engaging. The only thing I'd say is to study the notes taken in class, cause she doesn't really go over them in depth.

I think that the pandemic really impacted her. I still think that she is trying her best, but it is definitely difficult. The class itself is really easy, and super basic. I don't think I've actually learned anything, but I know she cares and is doing her best to teach so I would still take her class again. Essentially, an easy A class right now.

recorded lectures. very sweet lady and easy to approach. exams were essay format and open ended. she let me turn in an exam 3 weeks later even though she has a no exception make up policy. one project that was just making a powerpoint. Easy A as long as you do the assignments.

Mary is a great teacher and very flexible. She understands that college is stressful so all you need to do is communicate with her. Her classes are so fun. Some of the test are hard but if you study and can apply the material, you will pass.

Really great starter class, but the exams caught me off guard. Even when I studied the materials, I still got a low wrong. Nice lady, less understanding than I thought considering she's a therapist, but still fun to listen too. Actually enjoyed her lectures a lot and my grade probably suffered because of how early the class was. Overall 7/10.

Lovely human, and continually makes every class enjoyable with her lectures, can sometimes be boring if you aren't fully engaged on her current topic but that isn't very often. There aren't many grades but she will bump you up a whole letter grade if you are participating and actively paying attention. Highly recommend her

Best professor I've had. Lectures were great and tied directly to students. Being in an unrelated major I thought they were fascinating. Very understanding and always open for questions. 4 tests make up over 80% of the grade but notes were allowed for 3 of them - very easy. Take this course with her if you can. Worth taking as an 8am to have her.

Very chill class setting, not a lot of lecture but more discussions just conversations about material, and personal experiences. Tests are take home, no quizzes, and one assignment of an autobiography at the end of the semester based on someone you choose. Very flexible and doable, she is also very authentic and teaches quality life skills/ lessons

She is very good and tells stories in her lectures but can sometimes ramble on about one topic for a while. I would highly suggest her if you are taking PSYCH101 but attendance is mandatory! She gives us great notes and kahoots to use to study as well. What is on the kahoot will be on the test so be very aware of that. 67.

Prof. Michaloski was amazing. I'd highly recommend for 101, lectures were very interesting and I love the way she explains and teaches. Only set back is we had 5 graded assignments with 4 being unit tests, does allow a cheat sheet for exams 2-4 and the one written assignment wasn't difficult. Show up and study and you'll get a good grade.
