save yourself and take another teacher
Very tough teacher who will work you like no other, but if you really want to learn something and are up to the challenge, then go for it. Do NOT go in thinking that it's an easy A.
This teacher is hard but clear. Take her if you like biology.
Her life is her work, and her students her toys. She expects everyone to know everything she knows in one semester...If you don't accomplish what she wants, she brands you as an idiot and continues on her path of showering too much information ineffectively.
i went from a C to an Ain this class..she is no doubt a very hard teacher. if you pay attention in class i guarentee you'll get at least a B. tons of reading, tons of studying, tons of conceptual understanding. if you're taking this just for the hell of it then dont. if you're a bio major, she's hard but a GREAT teacher.
She's a good teacher. Her lectures might be a little hard to follow and seem hard but her tests are easy. Take her only if you're a science major. She can be a little intimidating sometimes but if you don't do anything to get on her bad side you'll be fine.
great class!!! i would defnitely recommend her to anyone. mary is a great teacher who really knows her material. her class is very organized and interesting. the tests are not too hard-not too easy but if you study you will be fine. i studied just a bit and got an A :)
I took her and thought she was a decent teacher. She answers all questions and gives you alot of notes, although there is still alot of self note taking to be done. Recommended if your a Biology/ Science major. If your not a science type of person don't take her.
Very Good teacher, If your do your work and study just like any other class you will do fine other wise don't take her or even better don't major in biology.
This chick is psycho. she yelled at the students the first day. she blamed all her problems on the fact that she is Irish. take another teacher for bio.
She a tough one, moves hands a lot, not approachable.
She is a wonderful teacher. Just don't expect to get good grades if you don't study.
.:This teacher knows what she is talking about and will help you if you need help. I'd take a different professor for the sole purpose of saving yourself from her tests. This teacher asks more from you to memorize then any other BIO 170 teacher. She's one of those teachers who makes you rethink your career goal, such as mine Medicine, and makes sure only the ones who pass her class will go on to that. I passed but talking with other students who took different professors. GO WITH A DIFFERENT PROFESSOR:.
goes to fast
She is a very tough teacher and proud of it. There is soo much studying. She is very helpful to students who ASK her for help. My advice to anyone considering her is do not fall behind. Lab is easy if you come prepared if not its a nightmare. Her tests are half essay half multi choice. Put in effort and you'll get a B atleast.
She's really informative. This class has a lot of memorization and takes A LOT of preparation. You actually need to study, and study hard if you even want to pass the class. She is approachable and will answer any questions you have and will not mind explaining things until you understand. Like her methods, she gives you outlines to follow alon
she was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hard.DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!!!!!!! RUN WHILE YOU HAVE THE CHANCE!!!!
A LOT OF MATERIAL TO KNOW. The tests are insane. She will answer all questions and will always keep lecture/lab interesting with information about previous students. Can be sarcastic at times. If you don't have a strong biology background, then DONT take her. Attend the last class before the drop date.
HARD CLASS a lot needs to be known. i scraped past every quiz and exam and got a C overall. Keep up with the readings she asks and READ the chapter for the day before u get to class. Take notes in class... a lot of revision required after class. dont be late to class. nice lady overall just a though subject.
***DONT TAKE HER CLASS IF YOU WANT AN A. ****DONT TAKE HER CLASS IF YOU GO TO CSUF (SHE GETS ALOT OF STUDENTS FRESH OUT OF HS THAT ARE PETRIFIED TO ASK ?S AND THE OTHERS BEHAVE LIKE 13TH GRADERS IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN) *** SHE GIVES YOU ESSAY ?S AND AN OUTLINE, BUT DOESNT GIVE INSTRUCTIONS ON WHAT TO STUDY FOR THE TESTS, AND EXPECTS YOU TO "K
If you want an easy "A" this is not the class for you. The teacher is a little weird and she makes things more confusing than they are. Tahnk God my lab teacher was someone else becuase this lady just confused me. The only way to get an "A" is to study from the book since that is less confusing than her lectures.
Ditto to almost all of the comments on here. She is VERY tough, VERY sarcastic, and NOT worth taking if you want to get a decent grade. I am generally an A's and B's student... and thats in Honors classes... I didnt pass this one at all. So yes, run while you can!
do not take her!!! she is soooo hard..i am an A student and i wanted to kill myself all semester long..she is so unclear about what needs to be studied for tests...she tests on stuff she never talks about in class
Extremely hard teacher. Sarcastic and refers to obscure humour. Helpful but only if you approach at the right time. Tough on grading and assignments. To make the grade you have to work really, really hard.
- She doesnt give enough info for exams and expects so much random info. If you go to her office, she makes u feel like ur so dumb. I mean when someone goes to a teachers office in college, that really means that student is struggling and willing to learn. But with NOlan, nothing can be learned. Its all about "the attitude"
This class is not for the feint of heart. I had very mixed feelings at the end of this class. I wound up with a "B" in the end, and was thrilled. Dr. N is highly available if you need extra help, but you may feel like crying when you leave her office. I learned a ton from organismal bio, it was an amazing class and comepletley worthwhile. If you
Interesting teaching style. Likes to demean her students as if they're elementary students. Exams are difficult because there is so much subject matter. She makes the class tough on purpose - If you can't pass this class, maybe you shouldn't go into medicine mentality
A teacher that expects a lot out of you but is willing to do whatever it takes to help you. An awesome teacher. Pay attention, use the outlines and essay questions, read, and ASK QUESTIONS!!!! Great teacher!!
Yes, Dr. N is very tough, BUT I learned SO MUCH from her class. I have never worked so hard for an A! But an A is feasible. What helped me the most was writing up the study guide essays and emailing them to her prior to exams. OF COURSE biology is a hard subject, she would be doing a disservice to all of us if she made it any easier.
BIO MAJORS ONLY. She expects too much of the students as if we know everything. READ THE BOOK, OR YOU’LL SUFFER. Lectures clarify the reading. Take her to become a better student! She’ll teach you good things, like being exact in your wording, which will be helpful from then on. If I didn’t love Bio, I would have died from frustration.
very hard but she is a great teacher. she knowd the material well and is straight to the point. sh will answer any questions you don't understand with out making you feel dumb.
after taking cell bio and genetics I realized how much she helped me. The other professor who teaches this class won't prepare you as well for those classes (she is easier but I saw alot of her students fail cell bio) Nolan will condition you for the work load that you will get in cell bio and higher. I was a better student for taking her
shes not exactly the most fun and interesting professor, but shes good at teaching and if you pay attention, you'll do well on the exams. shes also very fair and will give you opportunities to help yourself. take her if you're serious about your education.
Don't sign up for her if you aren't willing to put in a whole lot of studying and reading. Her tests are tough and so is she. She demands respect and doesn't mind pulling rank on you. PAY ATTN in class, go to class, and def read the book before every section.
SHES AN AWESOME TEACHER!!! SHE'S ALWAYS THERE TO HELP YOU. THE LECTURES ARE VERY HELPFUL AND CLEAR. SHE GOES OVER ANYTHING YOU DONT UNDERSTAND AND SHE ALSO KNOWS A LOT OF FUN FACTS!!! talked about a lot of interesting things that have to do with everyday life!! but there are boring times. Hard exams and quizes but pay attention and you'll pass
I took her during the summer, A lot of people drop her class cause the test are hard. Shes blunt, and very smart (not a good combination) some times shell make you feel stupid. But shes the a good teacher and if you want to transfer to a good uni take her to get used to work load. I'm getting an A in the class.
Only take this class if you're really interested in biology, I wasn't and I thought it was really hard to put in a lot of work, because this class definitely takes a lot of work. She's a pretty intimidating lady, but you can tell that she really cares and loves teaching biology, definitely a good teacher, not the easiest though.
not really worth my time
I recommend that all bio majors take her class but if you just need the class for some other reason consider someone else. She is worth it if you plan to learn real bio and be prepared for cell bio. The rumors are true only 7 people were left for the final exam.
big chip on her shoulder, thinks she knows it all, not the most intelligent person I ever met
well i took her class and i thought i can do it. But the truth is...i can't. She is so hard. She made it sound so simple in lecture. Also in exam i thought i did good. But i was wrong. Her questions are very tricky because most of them are the same. You have to really understand it to be able to get the right answer.
Despite showing an interest in teaching she's not a good teacher. I got a 5 on the AP Biology test, I was a straight A student in high school, and I'm taking her class right now and doing terrible. This just proves that I know how to study, I'm familiar with Biology enough to know how to do multiple choice tests, and her class is still too hard.
Super Cool!
Difficult but fair, demanding and detailed. Take her particularly if you want to go on in biology. She will give you an understanding of fundementals as well as extensive knowledge of micro-biology. She gave me exactly what I expected from a college-level class. An excellent instructor for the serious student.
She's hard. If you're a Bio major pick her. She's fast paced so be sure to keep up! She's fun and will explain it for you until you get it. She's fun and entertaining, but her lectures are long but FILLED with info. Good luck if you pick her for whatever. BIO MAJORS, TAKE HER!!!
She is the best teacher I've ever had. Yes, she is very hard and thorough with her language, but she will prepare you for what is to come. She is very available, and will answer all questions. I was intimidated during the first couple weeks, but as I went along, the class got easier and easier. STUDY and ask questions! Great prof for bio majors!
Detailed information with long lectures. Read her lectures, they have a lot ofthe test answers in them. Took online and got an A because of the curve. I am not a biology fan, but what we covered was interesting. If you can teach yourself, take this online.
AMAZING PROFESSOR!!! Took her on a friend's recommendation, best thing i've ever done. Her class is unbelievably hard, but she is willing to go above and beyond to help you do well. Office hours are really helpful, TALK to her if you need help. Definitely a Professor i would recommend again and again!
She is very difficult teacher. Long and boring lectures.
she was so disappointing because she predicted on the first day that i would get a D or F in her class, i was upset that she didnt think that i could pass her class. anyways, she seemed like a hypocrite and whatever she said for us to obey, she did herself. very bad, i felt like i was in elementary again.
Yes she is tough but if you put in the effort she will not let you down! Best teacher I have ever had!!
Do not take her! she is so hard! If she is such a good teacher like what few people said here. There won't be a lot of empty seats in the class. The class was full, and then it was down to few people. She made things sound simple, but it is not as easy as it sounds. Went to office hours and it is useless. Picked favorites and only help them.
Very, very hard. If youre not a bio major i would DEF NOT take one of her classes. Very Rigorous but is pretty fair. She will give help if needed..dont expect to see many people left at the end of the semester! HAVE to study and go to class. Nice woman overall
She is really tough, and eventhough i did my best, i got C. And there were a few student left out of 50students at first. There are a lot of things to read, and exam is really difficult.
This class is very hard BUT,its designed to be that way!Dr. N makes every attempt possible to help her students out, even taking time at home to go online and chat with you.You need to know your stuff to survive in this class, which makes it worth while. She is very fair and I would take her again if I could.
BE PREPARED!Requires dedication.Read the book prior to lecture & review lecture notes after each lecture. If u still don't understand, take advantage of office hrs; she is very helpful. She comes off tough but is very gracious.People who complain about her aren't putting in the work and won't cut it in the science field.
Way too hard. I took her online bio class and its just ridiculous. She covers 8+ chapters on her tests and asks the most obscure information possible. She says to read her lectures and book and you'll be fine but that's not true.
Very intimidating. High level of understanding required for success. You cannot simply read the textbook, make flashcards & memorize things. She wants you to fully understand how things work at a molecular level. Language is important, you have to write the answer correctly. Do the practice essays & check with her to verify your wording is correct.
This will be my second time taking Dr.N's BIO 101 class, and oddly, I would have it no other way. Yes her course is rigorous, yes you have to work day and night; but for you biology majors, her class is a must. She makes it so that you KNOW Biology. My advice to you other majors is to stay far away from her if you just need it for your science cate
Although she explains the material clearly, she completely discourages everyone and tells them they're all going to fail. This made me really upset and I started to feel very intimidated and second guess myself. I Don't recommend her to those who cannot withstand intimidating professors who "favor" students and constantly discourages everyone.
Dr. N is very set in her ways. She's a scientist, she has to be. Her lecture notes are great and pretty much sums up the chapter nicely. She will correct you on the proper wording and vocabulary because she wants you to think like a scientist. You never really know what her actual views and opinions are because she plays both sides perfectly.Awesom
Do your work. Not fun.
She needs to leave the science department and go to the English department. She would be a wicked prof there. As for her teaching bio, she's intense. Tempermental, Intimidating to say the least. Brilliant, but crazy. I liked her though. She said this once and it stuck with me: "This isnt a democracy. Its a benevolent dictatorship." BEAST.
bad vibes
Nolan was a very intense teacher. She goes through her notes and grades her test very hard. You have to choose your words carefully otherwise you won't pass her class. She's your last resort teacher. I recommend printing out the powerpoints text only because she goes through them quick I got a B- in her class
She is an adorable woman but she's got a big bite and she's pretty intimidating. In her class, everything you thought you knew about Bio is wrong! MUST keep up on reading. It's intense. She expects 150% from everyone. The class is so interesting, but it will kick your butt if you don't put the work in. "They don't call me the B-word for nothing!"
Exams are difficult and include essay questions. Labs are challenging. Wiley Plus isn't quite right for this class. Nolan should finish writing her own text asap.
Dr.N is very intimidating. She will analyze and disect everything word that comes out of your mouth to make sure you mean what you say. She pushes everyone to do their best. This class will definitely kick your butt, but in the end, it is worth it. You NEED to keep up with the readings and not fall behind otherwise your seting urself up for failure.
Extremely tough class and she is really intimidating. Studied harder than I've ever studied only to get a C on the exam--A on multiple choice and F on the essay. Even if I didn't drop, I probably would have only gotten a C at best. Nothing easy about this class-be prepared to learn 99% from the textbook since she doesn't lecture. Good luck
Dr. N is an amazing teacher. She might scare you at first but as long as you do your work and study you'll be fine. More than half of the class dropped but thats because this class takes commitment. She has a spunky personality and she is by far my favorite professor :) be prepared to learn! A LOT!
I took the online class and it was difficult. You have to take time to read the book and the lectures and the powerpoints. She's really helpful if you go to her office and ask questions. Intimidating, but beneath it all, she's nice and knows how to do her job. The exams are multiple choice w/ essays. Take her if you can teach yourself.
Online class. Prof unresponsive to emails. Online quizzes had a few mistakes. Prof also teaches face-to-face class. We all met in one room for the final. Face-to-face class seemed to have a good relationship. For the online class. . .it seemed like the twilight zone. Online reviews run/guided by student Qs rather than prof led.
By far the most challenging class I have ever taken, but it was totally worth it! Study, study, study is the key! If you come to class prepared you will learn a lot! Intimidating at first but that's only to make sure you're serious about the class, wonderful person and teacher. If you put in the work there is nothing she won't do to help you.
Very particular with words. very difficult teacher. Do not take if you want an A. In one term, only 2 B's, everyone else got lower. At some point, youd think the professor would realize it's their inability to teach, rather than the quality of student.
By far one of my favorite professors at Fullerton. Yes she is demanding and yes she is intimidating but this class is not impossible and you learn so much. If you read the chapters and her lecture notes online you will be fine! However, if you're looking for an easy class to fly through take someone else cause she will rip you to shreds
Dr. N is seriously my favorite teacher at Fullerton College. If you plan on being a bio major this class is great! It will prepare you to think like a science major. Stay on top of the readings and think about what you say and you will be fine! (Skimming does not equal reading in this class!)
Awesome professor and super helpful! She's got a sense of humor but she is really serious about making sure you comprehend the material. All you have to do is try to understand what you read and what you don't get she'll explain in a way that makes you think, "Why the hell didn't I get that?" Love her!
The most condescending professor I have ever experienced. She takes simple concepts and makes them difficult. I would HIGHLY recommend you find another professor. Are you clear on the concept? I find it hard to believe that the dean of fullerton college knows how she acts and teaches in class. I would fire her immediately.
Dr. N is a really great professor. You can tell how much she loves the subject by the way she teaches it back to you. She helps you just as much as you ask for it. Going to office hours were very helpful. Very difficult class, but also very passable. Do the work, read the book, pay attention in lecture, ask questions and you'll be fine!
Great professor. She puts effort into her lectures and is always happy to answer questions. If you read the chapters before class and come prepared she’s your best friend. Loved her so much I took her for the next level of bio.
Took her summer class. Hands down, one of the best professors I've ever had. Definitely not an easy class. Reading is a must along with proper language in your essays. She definitely knows what she's talking about and expects 100% from her students. Can be intimidating at first, but don't be afraid to ask questions. She's always glad to help.
Dr. N is a great professor. Dont be intimidated by her shes actually really helpful. Just make sure you read the book like 4 times and you'll do fne.
This professor is indeed one of the challenging professors you will find at fullerton college on the first day, but she does teach the students. She will make you actually work for your grade, which in turn will make you a better person in the end. Dr. Nolan is a nice person and is always there to help students if needed.
Really good teacher! She made the course extremely easy! Not to mention the fact that she's hot. I recommend you take her!
Overall a pretty good teacher but does come off intimidating sometimes. In some cases its like she belittles some students if they're wrong. Also tends to overcomplicate simple concepts pretty often. If you want to do well you have to be responsible for reading chapter before every lecture and regularly reviewing notes. You will learn a lot.
Tests are easy if you read the txt book, show up to class, and study the notes. She gives you the power point lectures, but you really should show up because she explains and gives more detail during lecture. She is a great and down to earth individual. She is always there for you to answer questions and clarify things. She's a great mentor to have
This professor isn't the easiest, but she isn't the hardest either. She is nice, and will help you if you ever ask. If you ask questions about things she has already gone over she will probably give you a look like, "uhm, your supposed to know this." She is a great teacher, makes sure you learn basic biology. You have to study like any other class.
Her style of grading and teaching just wasnt for me. Everybody in the class was lost, so maybe I wasnt alone.
Most of the class was lost throughout the semester. Lectures are just not clear. Spent lecture time putting class down. If you MUST take her, just try to read and understand the material on your own. I love science, but this professor definitely tested that love.
She definitely made concepts much more confusing than what it already is. You have to be very detailed in your test essays.
Two weeks into the semester and I ended up having to drop the class. Dr. Nolan is quite possibly the most demeaning and condescending professor that I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. Her student expectations for an entry level class are downright ludicrous. Lectures and labs are unclear, unfocused and pedantic; very poor communicator.
Nolan is a great teacher and expounds greatly on the text which is great. She says she doesn't give study guides but the practice essay questions are basically a guide if you actually go through them. She's hard and expects a lot out of her students but if you put the work in you'll succeed and be met with all the help you need.
Dr. N is one of the greatest teachers ever. No I didn't get an A, but she teaches extremely well. She expects you to read the chapters before lecture and at least try to answer questions in class. If you are confused with any material she is always willing to help. Tests are hard, but just make sure that you explain everything in detail!
Definitely a great professor for a student who is a science major, but if youre not she may not be the best as her exams are hard and very detailed. However, its not impossible. Her essay questions are practically an outline of the exam so do them, read the book and you'll be fine.
She is amazing but tough! You need to do the work and know your stuff. She is very intimidating at the beginning of the semester but once she knows who are her students that are willing to put in the effort she is wonderfully friendly. If you like science you will love her class, she really is brilliant.
Dr. Nolan is extremely intimidating at first, but after the drop date, she lightens up tremendously. Read her power points and the book before class. I got an A in this class from following direction, reading, attending lecture and doing the essay questions. Stick with her and she will guide you through.
Took this in summer online, hard af. Do your reading and the lectures. Take notes. She made the final online for us, but the first two exams were hard. The rest of the online exams have answer keys online. The quizzes are harder than exams. She's picky with the information you put for answers. Don't procrastinate. It counts as your attendance.
This class is hard and Dr. N is tough but it is only because she knows your true potential. Do not give up. Work hard. Ask for help. She knows the material and that you can understand it, but you need to be able to articulate what you have learned. Work your bum off and you will receive the grade you earned. Read before lecture and be ready to WORK
Best professor i have ever had. She was incredibly clear and helpful if you asked for help. You had to work incredibly hard in order to do well in the class but the grade you got is 100% the grade you earned. The way she taught forced me to be better student which has helped me as i continue my college career. I would take a class with her again.
Clear with what she wants. Do the work and ask questions and you'll pass.
This professor is the worst thing that has ever happened to you during the semester; However, after you pass her class, you will have a clear understanding of how the fascinating world of biology works, AND feel amazing proud of yourself. She really makes you work for your grade. If biology is your major, don't consider anyone else.
Mary wrote very great lecture to help students. It is very helpful but tge test is difficult.
Dr. Nolan is by far the BEST professor that I have met. Its true that her class is tough, but its because she expects her students to be disciplined like real scientists. Because of that, you'll become a much better Bio student at the end of the semester. Some tips to make it through her class: do the reading and then ask questions. Dont be late.
Dr. Nolan is an amazing teacher and mentor. Yes, you will need to read and do work on your own outside of class and lab, but she is very clear and makes sure every student UNDERSTANDS the material before moving on. Incredibly apporoachable and stern sometimes(just to make you think). Make sure you show up to lecture, and ask questions if need be!
Dr. N's class will change you for the better. She's scary at first. She'll gets in your face. People get weeded out. But in the end, she cares. A lot. She will help you develop extremely important skills that are useful beyond biology. You will know the material by heart. She isn't the easiest professor--but, she's fair, and she prepares you well.
The course itself was hard but Dr. N made it a lot harder than it needed to be. Her teaching style of constantly yelling at you so you do better was not for me. If you don't participate & ask questions, she'll assume you don't know anything about what's going on so just come up with dumb questions to make her happy.
Unfortunately it was extremely difficult to learn anything. Professor Nolan spent countless mornings yelling at the class over how disappointed she was. Asking questions was difficult because she showed how annoyed she was. If you MUST take her class, read ahead and try and learn the material yourself. I love science, this class tested my love.
Be ready to read the book! Her lectures are long and doesn't give you enough time to write all the notes so write fast! Her lectures are important for the exams because she doesn't exactly follow the book. She wants you to learn the information not memorize it and she is a tough grader on the essay portions so be prepared for those.
Very strict teacher. Must learn the material through connect. She makes labs easy but her lectures are super fast and its hard to write anything down. Dont take her class for the sake of your grade!
Dr. N has been my favorite professor here at Fullerton college. She is an amazing person and teacher. The class is challenging but she will explain everything in great detail until it is clear to her that you understand. Easy online homework twice a week. Don't take this class if you are lazy, it is hard work but it is incredibly rewarding.
Prof. Nolan is a fun teacher who cares a lot about her students. She will help you understand the material as long as you do your part. The course is challenging; just read the textbook and ask questions in lecture where she can explain it better. She brought doughnuts the day of the final (there was only 7 students left). HIGHLY recommend.
Dr. N! She has been the best professor I have had! She is absolutely amazing! She is a tough grader, you won't pass if you don't show up and do the homework. Outline the chapters and ask a lot of questions. She loves to talk and explain. She invests a lot of time into her students. She seems scary, all the time, but she will teach you!
She went through my transcripts and degraded me for my past. She was the worst professor I have ever had! She teaches one way, if you don't learn from her way, you probably won't pass.
She likes to act mean and strict, but stick around and you'll find she's one of the nicest, most genuinely caring people you will ever meet. If you take her, prepare to be involved in the class, and not just another face in the crowd. She is definitely not for the lazy or faint of heart.
Amazing teacher, cares about her students and material. She'll act tough and strict in the beginning to scare people to drop who are weak of heart so that the determined waitlist people can enter. She's a teacher who doesn't mind saying the same thing 10 different ways, 10 different times. As long as you do the homework and study you'll pass.
She's a nice teacher, she's a bit tough though. She's funny and she does care if you do understand the material because she'll ask you. And if you don't understand, ask because she'll explain it and repeat it until you understand. Make sure you do the homework and you study the book the lecture notes.
Dr. N is such a passionate professor! Shes intimidating, but shell make sure you understand bio. Has 4 lecture exams, which are 2-3 essay questions and 75-100 multiple choice questions. READ!!! Itll save your grade! Her labs are fun, theres a quiz at the beginning of each lab cause its once a week & a lab fin
She has made the biggest impact on my life. I had Dr. N in Bio101 and her passion for the topic inspired me to take her for Bio170. She is tough, but fair. She knows what you expect out of you and will push you to prove it. Her lectures are fast but if you've skimmed the reading and her posted powerpoint then you'll keep up.
She's one of the best Professors I have ever had! 4 lecture exams & a quiz everyday you come to lab, which is only once a week. First couple weeks are tough, but study hard and dedicate yourself & youll pass with flying colors. She is funny and I love her lectures! You will leave her class with more knowledge about biology & the earth!
took her for bio 101 and had an extremely difficult time keeping up with her lectures. she goes through the material very quick. If you answer something wrong during lecture she will make you feel dumb. I did not like her teaching style one bit. I started with a class of 100, and we are ending with a class around 20. Terrible professor.
Dr. Nolan is a great professor! She is very tough, but in the end you get the grade you deserve. Study the essay questions, pay attention in class, ask questions, and youll be good!!! She changed my entire learning experience for the better!!! She cares about the students that WANT to pass. Enter this class with that motive and youll be fine (-:
Took her online class only to find out that the connect assignements DO NOT count towards improving your overall grade from the 2 on campus exams she requires. However, not doing the assignments after the grade has been given will hurt you. Even though your grade is determined. Expects you to know the subject as well as her.
Im going to miss you professor! You were literally our favorite, and we really enjoyed your passion for teaching! You are so sweet and caring! The three girls in the back of your class were your biggest fans, just saying. hehe. Also one of the girls is trying to pass your class and the other one is just happy with your pin you gave her. lucky her.
Best class I have ever taken.
Dr. N is an amazing instructor and a very inspirational woman. She's tough and she makes you work harder than you've probably ever worked before but it's to prepare her students for their major. The material was pretty interesting but she makes it fun. She was my favorite professor and someone I continue to go to for help and support.
Farewell Dr. Nolan, you deserve peace and happiness from here on out. I will not forget the change you've brought to my life, and the drive you given me to succeed. Take care.
I am an Honors student & I even went to her office hours for help. At first, I was looking forward to this class b/c I love science but I dropped it because she can be very rude and I don't tolerate that. Those who are stem majors may want to take this class to challenge themselves but even I'm a stem major and I would never take her class again.
