I am a A student who couldn't pass Algebra until I had Ms.Rayhall. She taught easier methods than found in the book to help us grasp the concepts. Great teacher.

Does belittle a little but good teacher...although she does love wearing dark clothes she also loves chalk...not a good combo...Hint: invest in a dry erase board ... i also think she takes uppers
She is crazy and has her favorite teachers. She thinks that their is only one way to solve a problem and that's her way. Wrong totally crazy.
Do We All Agrea!!
I had her for math 115 i had to drop her. she was so hard. My advice dont ever take her.But she is also a nice teacher.
IDIOT, Plain and simple.
shes so str8. she explains everything good. idk y everyone rated her bad.
WORST teacher ever!! She is so unclear. She teaches like 4 lessons in class, then gives you homework on the next lessons. So it's so confusing!!! DON'T TAKE HER!
gives alllllllllllllooooot of homework
Mrs. Rayhall was a pretty good teacher especially considering it was a 8 AM class. She is exremely cleare on how to do math operations and is more than willing to spend time in and out of class with you. She does seem a little to fragile for a teacher though. It's probably a good thing shes a college teacher.
I'm sure she's great for some people. But I have hardcore ADD, and simply had to drop the class. To say she's hyper, frantic, manic, etc. would most likely be a gross understatement. A nice person; just didn't work out for me at all.
VERY NICE TEACHER.
I liked her a lot!!! I was in her office 24/7 and she help me every time. Her test was stright from the book.
Professor Rayhall is a good teacher to have because she is willing to help if you do not understand the work. Her tests are out of the book, and she doesn't deviate from teaching it. She goes at the speed necessary to teach everything, but she is never too fast to help students.
She teaches well, but you need to have your work exactly the way she wants it or you will lose points on the test. I got an A in the class, but I was one of the two students in that class to get an A. I wouldn't recommend her, but if you have no other choice, she's really not that bad.
She was VERY VERY confused about giving grades. I took the online class and had to send seven e-mails to remind her to either give me credit or to mention that she gave me the wrong grade. Very frustrating to work so hard to get good grades and then have to beg to get credit for it.
Everyone in my class gave this lady a lot of grief...she was excellent. The loud students that don't want to be in class should keep themselves at home! She was extremely helpful and friendly.
she wasnt all that bad if u completly and toatly understand math. if you are just taking the class for review she would be a good instructor. on the other hand if you do not do the work EXACTLY the way she tought it u get marked down, she psays things totaly wrong, and she teaches super fast.she makes you feel stupid.i wouldnt recomend her.
I don't like the way she teaches, and she goes through the stuff way too quickly without giving you a chance to ask questions. She also plays favortism on her students, she's very unfair, and doesn't allow you to have class discussions in the classroom. I would never recommend her.
doesnt know wat she is teacing. always says "im behind" comes late to class but expects us to be there on time waithing. marks test grade down for little mistakes like if your equal sings are not neat she takes half half a point. doesnt know much about the topic. should be fired
she basically sucks."and we add a who??!!"
Alot of people in my class didnt like her teaching. Her methods take some getting used to.Once you get the method your golden. She is helpful and super nice. Its like she drinks 5 red bulls b4 class, and rolls around in chalk lol.I understand her,and overall think she is a good teacher. I say if you really struggle with intermediate I suggest else.
She was a very nice teacher she just wanted everything her way. If your equal signs were not lined up she would minus points. It was crazy. The material isn't tough she just piled lots ot information in one test. If you do take this teacher you will deff. need to attend class all the time and spend atleast an hour everyday going over your notes.
This teacher sucks! She is extremely forgetful and senile. If you don't do the problems her way she will mark you off even though there's more than one way to reach the answer. SHE SUCKS!!!
Worst teacher, my favorite subject was math before i had her. She repeats things over and over again. I would never recommend her to anyone. She has to have everything her way and if not you get marked down for it. I have her now and am considering dropping it because how annoyed i am. Material is pretty simple but she cant teach it well.
She is THE WORST TEACHER in Henry Ford Community College. OOOHH wait did i say in Henry ford community college??? sorry I MEANT IN THIS WORLD. she doesnt make you undestand Math but she makes students memorize it which is stupid. Math is to understand and practice not memorize and do it her way. DONT TAKE HER. even if you are good in math.
BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..... Two thumbs way way down. Talk about almost impossible to learn from.
Professor Rayhall is extremely fair and pleasant but can seem high strung at times. She is particular about how she wants work done. Keeps regular office hours and will be there as long as it takes for you to understand the lessons. Take initiative and you will do fine.
3 words -- dont do it
**online** At first, I was surprised at all the homework we had to do. Then it started to taper off. I met her, and she is very personable. First time ever to get an 'A' in math. She is a little particular about equal signs, but she is very willing to help if you are having a hard time. I would recommend her.
I took this class online. There's definately alot of work, but once you get used to what's expected every week, it becomes easy. She's always there to help. The material can be hard, but if you have some background in math, you'll be fine.
She singles students out, will NOT allow questions in class, and refuses to discuss other ways for solving equations. She only wants things her way. My mom's a math teacher and i am a quick thinker but if i don't put down "add two" on both sides, i get marked down 3 points. awful. i know this math and she's trying to fail me.
This has to be the worst math teacher ever. Some how you can get a right answer and still get no points on a question. She has her favorites (not many) and they are the ones going to pass. She is rude to students, give out to much home work, and is a sorry teacher. Plz do not take her, I beg you, and pass it on.
She is a great teacher. If you need help, you can always talk to her. Her office is ALWAYS OPEN!!! If you put in the effort to learn the info, you will pass. She gives tons of examples on the subject and always ask is you have any question. You will pass the class if you put in the effort.
Ms. Rayhall is an extremely unpleasant teacher. Her tests are ridiculous. Everything has to be HER WAY. If you dont line up your equal signs, you get points off. If you skip a step, but still get the right answer, you lose points. She talks fast and is very jumpy and energetic--never calm. My advice is dont take her class if you can avoid it.
She is the meanest strictist teacher. she doesnt like anybody. quiz eveyday class period. no extra cridit. no retakes. she does not teach math she teaching english because she talks the whole class period. TRUST ME DONT TAKE HER
The worst teacher ever
Good teacher take her easy A
Probably the worst teacher at HFCC. She gives an insane amount of homework for a general class.. and this is coming from an Honors student. She forces you to think and do the work exactly her way. If you try to do a step in your own way, even if you get the right answer, you lose points. Don't take her period.
Ms. Rayhall is a great teacher. If you take notes in class and pay attention, you should have no problem getting an A. Make sure that you review the notes before tests, because she bases her tests right off of her notes. Her class is a little hard, but like I said, take good notes and study them and you should do good.
She was not helpful at all, if you ask questions they are not answered. She marks you down for the smallest things. I was marked off for not having my work organized to her standards. Silly, but true. She also told me two negatives multiplied make a negative number. I would not suggest taking her unless you have to.
She is alright, but if you do not study like crazy you may not pass the class. Everything is scrutinized on tests and work you turn in, be warned.
just terrible, way too damn fast, rarely helps students, crazy amounts of homework, and if its not to her standards good luck on the quizzes and tests, i have corrected her many times on simple algebraic expressions. She said that if you have problems in higher math classes don't tell them that you had her for a math teacher, definitely 2 thumbs down
She is the only teacher where you are not allowed to use a calculator on her tests and quizzes. You have to study, and pay attention. Her tests are like her reviews but if you don't show every single step you will lose points. I had points taken off even though I got the right answer. She can explain well though-- too much work.
Her class doesn't make since to me. She teaches like you already know the material, teaches really fast even through we have over a hour. Her grading is dumb on test if u complain bout it she'll go in her office and mark stuff right only for some people she let u use a calc ONLY for the stuff u can do in your head. I don't recommend this teacher !
Worst teacher I have ever had. Teaches way too fast. She always gives her quizes and tests fifteen minutes before the end of the hour, making it impossible to finish or make sure of answers. Takes points off for meaningless things like drawing a crooked triangle or showing work horizontally. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER. Find a different teacher
WHEN I READ THE COMMENTS ON THIS SITE I WAS SCARED TO HAVE MS. RAYHALL AS A PROFESSOR; HOWEVER, I AM GLAD I DECIDED TO. MS. RAYHALL IS AN AMAZING MATH INSTRUCTOR. YES, THERE IS A LOT OF WORK INVOLVED BUT NOT ONLY DOES SHE LOVE HER JOB, SHE CARES ABOUT HER STUDENTS EDUCATION. THE COURSEWORK WAS VERY EASY IF YOU FOLLOW HER DIRECTIONS!
I'm taking this class now, but she's a hard grader and she wants to do the math on her own roles. This is math and you can do it in different ways. I don't recommend this teacher at all
If you can stay away. Most of the time it seems like she's confused and she panics at time.
She's very particular about the way you show your work - the way she wants it & if it's any different, you lose points. She's nice & is willing to help, just very particular.
She's extremely particular about the way you show your work and organize your homework folders. One mix up and you lose valuable points. She's unforgiving if you miss a test or assignment and your screwed so never miss one even if your kids are sick or your dying.
She is the worst math professor I have ever had. I have always had an A in Math but she is literally out to give poor grades. She changes the syllabus regularly so you never know the actual amount of points you're allowed to achieve and she doesn't post grades so you basically NEVER know what your grade is unless you're able to calculate it yoursel
I REGRET taking this class. I did all assignments, didn't miss one class, & had a tutor the entire semester & ended up having to drop the class anyway. She rarely covers all the material before class ends & rushes through things. Her grading is inconsistent & 8 others also dropped the class. Stay away if you can.
I would not recommend this teacher to anyone. She marks points off for correct answers, and she's so scatterbrained she is sometimes impossible to follow. She gives quizzes and exams at the end of class and leaves students feeling rushed. Lectures are hard to follow because she is so distracted and all over the place. Never take her.
Such a mess. Meeting with her for 4 tests and she was all over the place. She never knows where anything is. If you miss work, she gives you the opportunity to do it, but is a witch about grading it. I would never take her class again.
Do not recommend taking her class. Every time we took an exam and tried turning it in, she would call you out in front of the class with your mistakes and make you sit back down and redo the problems. Even if you have the right answers, you will be marked down if you did not complete the steps exactly how she wanted them done.
This teacher is probably the worst I've ever had. She seems nice at first but is totally opposite throughout the semester. She assigns homework she doesn't check. She doesn't drop any low grades. She doesn't help. Can't use calculators on tests. She goes at a fast pace and I couldn't understand anything I would not recommend taking her.
Had her for the winter semester (this detail is important), and it was the worst class I had to take. Three weeks in its all good, then she gets into a skiing accident and we get a very broken English speaking sub who was no help. I took one of her tests and lost points for the correct answer because the work wasn't her way. Do not recommend.
Worst class I have ever taken in my entire life. This teacher gives out WAY too much homework, and she's very detailed on how she wants the work to be done. I got a half of point off on a CORRECT answer because I didn't write it like how she wanted. Her tests are ridiculous and there are NO CALCULATORS. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS BY ALL MEANS!!!
do not i repeat do not take this class. I am currently in one of her online classes and its terrible. She gives out homework like her class is the only class you are taking. She is also very petty about grading, taking off points for any and every little thing. You can have the right answer but if all the steps are not done her way she will deduct.
I highly discourage anyone from taking her. I've always done good in math but with her I couldn't understand anything. She's all over the place with her teaching. She's always switching from topic to topic. I had a D in the class and ended up dropping it, retook the class with a better teacher and got an A. Don't make the mistake I made.
Let me start by saying I am mathematically challenged. By miracle I placed into Math 110 and took this course during a spring semester. For the first time EVER I actually understand what is going on. She is an awesome teacher who teaches thoroughly and at a pace everyone can understand. I would 100000% recommend! She really cares for her students
She is a tough grader. You won't pass if you don't do all of her work, even if you get the right answers she will mark you down if you don't do the work her way.
I love Ms. Rayhall. I took her for 80 and 110. She teaches the material really well and makes it easy to understand. She does grade tough, taking points off for small mistakes but she does give you partial credit if you got the answer wrong but tried to solve it. Beware, she gives a lot of homework which can be overwhelming.
I took this teacher for math 110 and it was the worst class.I am a math person and math is my hoppy. Math is what i enjoy the best in my life. And it REALLY bothers me when there r teachers who kill this subject like this teacher. Many students dont really like math and if they take math with this teacher I dont blame them to keep hating math.
I earned an A+ in Math 110 and came into math115 with this teacher. It was a nightmare, never felt so lost in a math class!
Mrs. Rayhall was absolutely amazing. She was always available in her office when needed. She clarified everything for me and would not let me leave till I understood everything. Provides thorough study guides, and thorough practice exams. She is very inspirational and will help you every step of the way. 100%.
she will mark you down for the most unrelated things; not capitalizing a letter in the beginning of a sentence (yes, really), not writing an answer a specific way exactly (if the answer for x is 5 and you just write "5" and not "x5", you will get points off), very specific questions on the tests and quizzes and tries to confuse you with wording..
Don't take this instructor
Miss Rayhall is a nice teacher. She explains everything step by step. She doesn't give extra credits, but if you study the notes, you'll get A easily.
Ms. Rayhall is a kind teacher, however, she is a tough grader. Every week we have homework that is time-consuming. I took this class online but I had to go on campus every 4 weeks to take exams. I recommend this class because the teacher wants you to actually learn the subject. She does brush on things and moves on. If you need any help, she helps!
she takes off points for no reason. be ready to get slammed with homework every week.
Takes 45 min lectures during test days . Tests are not like the study guides. Study guide she gives are **potential topics(no problems)** on the test. Quizzes are like tests. for ex. quiz 5.1-8.5 while the test is also 5.1-8.5. Really slow teaching. Wastes time learning people's name than teaching. She cares a lot though but not my cup of tea
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. You can do everything right and have the right answer, but if it's not how she taught you in class then she will no give you credit for it. She would literally write "not how I taught you in class" and she would mark the answer wrong.
Would not recommend, drop this class asap. I ended up getting an A because I did all my homework, but on tests even if you get the right answer, she'll mark you wrong if you don't write it how she wants you to. Also spends time on unnecessary things and then she crams at the end and she says 'we're a little behind, not sure why'. DROP IMMEDIATELY !
She was probably one of the sweetest people I ever meet but for the love of god do not take her class. She moves so so so fast and barely explains anything. She is usually available for her office hours but does not respect your time. If youre amazing at math, go ahead and take her. If you need a little extra help, steer clear of this one.
Mary Rayhall... oh boy. She is so nit-picky with grading. She corrects not only your math but your grammar too (hard lesson learned when she knocked .5 point off the first quiz for it). She teaches too fast; your best chance at surviving the class is teaching yourself at home. She is nice and usually pretty accesible though.
Prof. Rayhall always contradicts herself in emails, when you ask for clarification she copy and pastes her contradiction. The material in the class is not hard but she over complicates it. If you do not solve a problem the way she does, you get points taken off even though the answer is correct! The WORST grader ever. Randoms point are always taken
The material in the class is not hard but she over complicates it. If you do not solve a problem the way she does, you get points taken off even though the answer is correct! The WORST grader ever. Do not that it with her she a very bad teacher. And even if you go to her office hours it will not help. I do not recommend taking this class with her.
good teaching but ALOT of EFFORT needed. I took Pre-algebra before & familiar with every topic but she's VERY picky harsh grader if you have the right answer & show work points lost 4 small mistakes that don't affect answers/ability 2 do question TEST IS LIKE REVIEW. Heavy lecture notes Don't ever miss a class you won't catch upHw take 2 hr LIGHT
Really does not know how to teach at all, she skips steps her tests are completely different from the homework and notes and just flat out bad teacher.
Don't you dare take this class with this lady. She will make your life hell. She will send 10 emails per day. She will do anything to make you fail the class. She looks for every small mistake you make on an exam and takes points off. My experience with her was a nightmare and I wouldn't want anyone to feel the pain of having her as a teacher.
Not a very hard class; however you have to do everything exactly how she does it if you want to get an A. Her lectures are really annoying because sometimes she talks to the class like you are in elementary school. She said you would not pass the class if you worked FT or were in other classes. Did both and still got a B. Don't let her scare you.
She seems nice but her methods of teaching are poor. She basically doesnt teach, she wants you to guess everything and if you make the slightest mistake, shes marks you down 5+points. DO NOT TAKE
Worst teacher ever! DO NOT TAKE HER! I love math but ended up hating her class my grade was so bad I had to drop out!
Ms. Rayhall is an amazing person before being an amazing teacher. She teaches from her heart, she is so smart, she cares about her students, she is always available whenever you need her help, she responds to the email very quick, you will love her and you will love her class!
Unless you're willing to dedicate your entire semester to a single class. Do not take 115 with her. Anything missed in her emails will be blamed on you regardless of if you had work or other classes to worry about. She has even graded student's notes that count towards a final grade.
Her major downfall is her attitude towards students. Very rude and condescending. She gives a week to do homework, then sends out mass emails about how disappointed she is for not completing it early. She RARELY puts grades in early and usually waits until the last second so you never know what you have. Just stay away.
Oh boy, I took this class over summer and it was kinda insane. Professor Rayhall is a very sweet kind woman, but be ready to work harder than you have in any other class. Homework takes 3-4 hours a week at least, and she grades super tough on tests and quizzes. By the end of the class only two students (myself and another) hadnt dropped the class.
Never take this class with this lady she sends out mass emails. Talks to her students rudely. For some reason, she stops class in the middle and takes attendance about 5 times, and has other students put in the chat who she is looking for. She also takes attendance at the end again. If you want to pass don't take the class with her.
You can't be absent whatsoever. I had a few doctors appointments and emailed her, and then she would mark me absent, I would miss the points for that day, and there isn't a chance to make it up.
She's rude, mean, doesn't listen to to a student, doesn't understand that this is our only class or peice of homework, doesn't accommodate to malfunctioning software, marks you absent even with a note, and sends out so many emails. She's sent me 5 in the last day about a course evaluation that ended 4 days ago.
This Professor treats her students like kids makes people feel like crap and doesn't respect anything about you. She never cares if you had an emergency. She even told us once before the start of a storm that if we have a power outage we should go take the quiz at a coffee place ? (starbucks, etc) GOES WAY TOO FAST THROUGH LECTURE. Don't take her.
Lots of online homework but worry not dear students, if you are practicing ands studying outside of class you will get an easy b+ at the very least. Was nice and caring but could sometimes be very fast, will wait tho and help you go over it again if you ask her. Participate in her class and do the bare minimum ,
No matter what you do, DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. The only way you would do good in her class is if you literally knew everything she teaches before attending her class because you will not actually learn a single thing in that class other than "Staying organized". If you actually want to have a shot at passing this class, take another professor.
At the beginning of the semester she was good and took time teaching at the end she went fast we would finish a section a day and her grading is the worst you will never get a better grade than 70 out of 100 and the final is like 25 present of the hole cores
Excellent teacher, all around very active with the students learning. She even takes extra time and steps to help her students succeed. She is good at what she does and if you come to class prepared you can learn a lot. Math is a discipline and it is reflected in this course. Students participate more! Show yourself!
This was probably the worst professor I have ever taken. After giving you tons of homework, when its time for tests she states "the homework and tests have no correlation" what's the point of doing the HW? Also likes to complain about how we don't have enough time but tries to actively waste as much as possible by sticking on students not there.
if you are watching this, DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! if you care about your grades and mental health dont take this class. she is the worst professor you will ever take for obvious reasons.
She goes way to fast through the sections and puts as many on the exams as she possibly could. Claims that students are lazy and unmotivated if they are struggling. Gives multiple hw assignments a week but tells you to not use that to study for the exam because there is no correlation. Class started with 18 and ended with 3 students.
I have no respect for instructors who go out of their way to make the lives of students harder. Ms. Rayhall is one of those instructors. It doesn't matter if you love or hate math before taking one of her classes, either way you will essentially be set up to at best recieve an average final score and at worst completely fail.
This is the best professor I have ever had. I seriously dont understand these terrible ratings. If you take a college algebra class then you should expect to do college algebra obviously. These are lazy people that like to blame everyone but themselves for their terrible grade. She is an amazing teacher and gives partial credit if u do smth wrong
As a person, Prof. Rayhall is nice. As a teacher, she is not great. She has called me and some of my peers by the wrong names for three months despite correction. Her lectures do not match up with homework, so I teach myself the material online because due dates are off, she often won't lecture the materials in the homework until after due date.
