Knows her stuff. Hard class. Visit her in her office, it will help. We NEVER used the book. Don't buy it right away, waste of money.

Very mathematically oriented. Knows her stuff. Prepares good handouts. Tends to be busy and hard to meet with but she's helpful when available. The class material is dry and mainly involves plug-n-chug formula computations.

Tough tough tough class unless you're a math major. Mary gives good explanations and is always willing to help. Prepares helpful keys with solutions. This class would be insanely hard no matter who taught it just because of the material, but Mary does a good job of making it survivable.

She goes over everything in class so if you pay attention you'll be fine, although staying awake may be hard at times. You can use cheet sheets on exams and she provides lots of extra credit opportunities. You don't need to buy the book either. That's what her handouts are for.

Best prof. I've ever had- most people will tell you horor stories of stats 215, she made it easy and non-abstract with real life problems. You must print out handouts,but you dont need the book (hey, printing is FREE). Take her!

So great, so clear, and such funny little stories....I never thought sta 215 would be my easy class for the semester. Tests are great because you get cheat sheets.

I never thought my stats class would be the one I WANTED to go to this semester!She teaches this class differently than your typical math or stats teacher. if you are a hands-on learner that likes examples..then you will love having mary richardson!

She is could possibly be the coolest math prof when it comes to exams...She lets you have 1 double-sided page of notes plus the calculator instructions that she gives you,during the exam. She is really nice and understanding of emergencies and bad weather

I was dreading taking stats, but she made it so easy to understand! If you go to class and do the homework you will do fine. I took it as a 6 week course and I am getting an A.

Very clear, very fair with grades. You will get an A if you are a student worth anything, if you can't handle this class you will not be able to handle college at all. Easy stuff just boring.

Very nice person. She did a very good job explaining topics, but the topic is very difficult. Take this class CR/NCR because the class gets harder the further you get into it. She does her very best to make the subject interesting, but its so boreing that it dont work.

Very organized and kind. Exams were a breeze UNTIL the final which was ridiculous(exams and homework directly reflected info from handouts/examples in class, final introduced unfamiliar material). Time-consuming homework assignments worth a large portion of your final grade. Book is not needed, just print handouts! Attend class or you'll get lost!

The material is hard but she does a great job explaining it and gives tons of extra points to help you make it through. She does not offer much personal help in labs but does give you printed directions. If stats is a class you dread, this prof will make it bearable.

If you have to take stats, definitely the best teacher to take. Gives detailed notes and as long as print them out and come to class they aren't difficult to understand. Doesn't teach from the book so don't buy it, plus they wont buy it back for the 2010-2011 year. She gives quite a bit of extra credit to help you out also.

She knows the material very well but keeps it at an intro level. The nature of Stats is just hard that's all there is to it but she is great with giving extra points. If you do all the homework and extra credit you will be fine in this class, homework is a huge part of final grade. Exams were fair but the final was CRAZY!

Good teacher, knows her stuff and makes it fairly easy (as much as you can for stats) exams are fair and do reflect class work. WARNING!!!! the final is completely uncalled for.

Good Prof, I have heard she is way easier than most. Class is pretty boring but if you pay attention in class you should do fine. Make sure to make good cheat sheats and USE THE STATS LAB!! With out them I wouldn't of done nearly as good, the students there are very helpful and helped me on every homework assignment!

Do not buy the book...I did and it was never opened. Pay attention in class, bring the note sheets and inclass exercises to class and youll be alright

Id recommend her for sure. She's really clear and organized. Extremely fair grader and available outside of class. She's nitpicky about some things (like staples) but it's not a big deal. I was pretty scared to take Stats but she made it much better!

I took this during summer semester and it was really easy. Listen and show up and you'll do just fine. She puts everything in basic terms and makes it so you can understand. If you have to take stats, definitely take Mary.

Makes notes sheets for everything. Three tests for the whole semester and you get to have a notes sheet for them. Really easy to get in contact with and is in her office when she says she will be. She seemed really interested in the progress of her students.

She gives notes over every chapter...only 2-3 tests... the exam is somewhat tough, but as long as you use your study sheets its easy... SO make good study guides..AN DONT BUY THE BOOK!! didnt use it once.

First off, don't buy the book for her section. Never used it once. Instead she has about 20 handouts to print out and uses those over the semester. Very easy professor and I would definitely say I learned something too. If you go to class and follow along with the handouts, the class will be a breeze.

Always has a positive attitude during class. Waits for student questions before moving on with material. Very fair with grading. Highly recommmended.

I absolutely recommend this prof for stats! She is very organized and clear on what will be tested. There are not many opportunities for points, so do well on everything. Don't buy the textbook, never opened it once.

First of all, do not buy the textbook. Never used once. Really nice lady. Awesome lecture style, so so clear! If you are looking for an easy A, this is not your professor! Her tests are incredibly difficult. Final will be the worst experience of your life. If you truly want to learn statistics and have a lot of time to study, take Richardson!

This final was probably one of the hardest things i ever experienced. I had an A- going into it, probably came out with a C in the class because of it.

It was her first time teaching it since a few years back. Professor Richardson did a great job teaching such a challenging class. She is very organized, and has the entire semester's handouts available on BB as well as homework. Go to office hours definitely, it could make or break your grade.

I will be taking my third class with Professor Richardson next semester and highly recommend her. She posts all the homework and notes the first day of class so you can print them off, and then use them while in class to work out examples. What you put in to this class is what you get out of it. Best Statistics teacher I have had at GVSU.

This class is the second part of the Math-stats class. Definitely more proofs than 412. Prof. Richardson did an okay job teaching this class, however, it is very, very challenging if you are not theoretically minded. Cannot say I recommend someone else since she is the only prof teaching it next year. Go to office hours and build a rapport!

I took Mary for STA 412 and 415. She has 415 the same style. Everything you need is on blackboard. You don't need the book for the first semester, but you do for the second. All problems from the quiz and exams are from examples, homework or old exams. You must go to class, or you will miss something, exceptionally during 415.

Straigh forward and to the point teacher. Does a good job presenting and explaining the material. A tougher grader but nothing unreasonable. Really expects you to know the material. I actually learned some very valuable stats and gave me an appreciation for the subject. Dont bother buying the book, and study for the weekly quizes, they are tough.

This was her first time teaching STA216 in a while. She is very organized and gives you lecture packets to fill in. You do not need the textbook. I highly recommend her. Nothing too special, but you shouldn't struggle.

Absolutely loved her! Made learning so easy and literally spells everything out for you. Helps you when you need it, tells you in advance what is on the test, fill in the blank notes already ready for you, would highly recommend taking her!

Prof Richardson literally gives you your grade, however much effort you put into this class determines the grade you will get. Her tests are tough if you don't study and there is a very easy quiz every week which really helps your grade. She is super sweet and her notes are fill in the blank. She is great during office hours as well, great prof.

Hands down the best professor I've ever had, leave it at that. Course expectations were very clear, great at teaching the content. Not to mention a very nice woman. You will very rarely find a professor this special... #BestProfessorBarNone

Mary is kind of unapproachable. She is a decent prof. Exams were pretty easy and straightforward if you pay attention and study. Drops lowest quizzes. Won't let u make up quizzes or tests though, no matter what. Posts study guides that REALLY help with exams. Final was challenging compared to other tests, so STUDY. I got a tutor and that helped

She provides note packets that are easy & fill in the blank for class, not a ton of homework, weekly quizzes are easy that help pad your grade, and exams aren't that bad. She also provides hints on homework questions/basically giving you some of the answers. Would recommend!

Lectures are very clear and consise. Quizzes every Friday but if you study your notes you'll receive an A. I don't typically excelle in math but she made it quite easy. Comparitive to other stats professors she seems to be the easiest.

You will have a quiz once a week for the class, but there is no homework besides studying for the quizzes/exams. She returns grades very fast and is thorough during her lectures. Some material is difficult to understand at first, but she provides many examples and understanding for the material.

Overall a great professor. Everything was online. We had weekly quizzes but you could have multiple attempts on them. The exams were not bad at all if you studied the practices quizzes she gave. Just use every resource she gives and you will be able to pass with a good grade.

I took STA 215 and I was scared at first because everyone says stats it really hard, but Professor Richardson made it easy to understand. Her lectures were posted every monday and you have weekly quizzes with unlimited attempts. There are three exams, but she usually uses examples that she does in the lectures or the quizzes.

Easy A class. She is the sweetest lady and basically hands you an A. You get a cheat sheet for all of the exams where you can write any info down. Also she gives you a formula packet. She has SPSS labs that she completely explains how to do them in 2 6 min videos. I would finish all of my weeks work in 2-3 hours. 3 exams, final not cumulative.

Dr. Richardson is incredibly nice person and a fantastic lecturer. It is hard to even explain how clear her lectures are. As someone comfortable with math and stats, I found the course was not very challenging and similar to the material in 215

Made stats 312 (same thing as 215 basically) really easy to learn about. She wants to be there and wants to teach so it made showing up to the lectures always worth it. Gives really clear notes and lots of chances to get an A on quizzes, tests, and overall.

She made it very easy to get an A in the class. Very caring and honestly love her.

Easily one of the best professors that I've had. Even though I got a B, she gives you all of the tools that you would need to get an A in the class. If you take the practice tests before the exams you will do fine because she uses a lot of the same questions. She gives you unlimited attempts on quizzes. She really just wants everyone to succeed.

She says some out-of-pocket stuff but is really innocent and funny. Attend class because that is how you will learn but homework is light and easy. Does exams and quizzes online on your own time.
