Ms Romo is the best i encourage every one to take a class with her. She is real dedicated to helping the students as well as the community i loved her class it was the best.

Oh my God, this is the best teacher ever. She is so great and so sweet. She cares so much about everyone in her class. She makes everything clear. Plus all her class was based only on attendance, one research paper,a respond paper not an essay format, and a questionaire on your representatives in your community. I got an A in her class. She's very nice as a person but maybe not so much as a professor. But her class is really easy so take her! She's lenient, flexible, and just really good person overall. Ignore people who say she "gives them" a crappy grade because she didnt give them their grade. They earned that grade.

Professor Romo isn't a normal professor in the sense that she'll just lecture and test you. She cares about her students and wants them to do well. She's very friendly and approachable, unlike a lot of professors, so as long as you ask questions you won't have trouble understanding things. Very awesome professor! Take her if you get a chance!

She is a great teacher!! She makes the subject very interesting and givs loads of information. Took during winter, lectures during class and readings were important, had to do a 5-6 page essay but I got an A, because she is wonderful! Learned a lot and would recommend to anyone!

I actually took 2 of her classes in the same semester, Chicano History 09 & 19, she was wonderful. Really new her stuff. She made the class very interesting, she is very caring, and wants her students too pass. I highly recommend her...

people take advantage of her cause she really nice. more than half of the class is gone trhought the semester kinda sad. However I stayed beacuse she knows her stuff and grades easy and gives extra credit as well. Overall she is very helpful and requires alot of note taking and attendance.

Really laidback. She's not harsh with attendance. Two in class tests, one take home test. One essay. She's really cool, helps you try and pass the class if your behind.

Professor Romo is the nicest teachers.She isnt very hard. I took her for chicano 7.she gives you a study guide for the midterm but when she goes over it in class the answers are in the notes so its pretty easy. She doesnt really tell you to do the reading but you must do it since there is questions about it on the test. Higly recommended!!!

Professor Romo is seriously the greatest ever!!! She is hilarious and makes her lectures interesting! I loved her so much that I always visited her office hours! Without a doubt one of the greatest professors at ELAC. There is a lot to learn if you pay attention and the projects are not difficult, just observations. Hands down one of the greatest!

Professor Romo's class is easy. You will have to read articles and journals that she uploads on Moodle. You will have 4 online quizzes and a final. No midterm. You will also need to write a cultural observation paper (very easy) and will have to present a group project on a music genre (very easy) both due at the end of the semester.

Sometimes the lectures can be boring but come on its history. She's very sweet and clearly loves to teach. Easy A just show up and do the work.

Professor Romo is the best! I highly recommend her for anybody, she's very helpful and there for the students and she understands if you have things going on in your life, just talk to her and her classes are super easy, I've had her for Chicano 7 and 44 and her class was my favorite, highly recommended if you want an easy yet fun class.

Professor Romo is the sweetest person ever! I highly recommend to take Ch/S 44 with her. She does not assign a lot of essays. She has the class read articles from moodle with a timed quiz of 10 questions but be sure to not miss them as it can affect you grade.

Prof. Romo is a very sweet lady. She is not difficult but you do have to pay attention in class because her assessments are based on some of the things she talks about in class. Don't leave the assessments until the last minute because she will close them and not reopen them.

Prof. Romo is such a sweet woman! She really cares about her students and will go out of her way to help anybody with a problem whether it be school related or life in general. The only big assignment that can heavily impact your grade is the journal so make sure to complete it. Overall, you should be able to pass this class with a good grade.

Ms. Romo is quite a gem. Her class is very easy to pass with an A. All that matters is a simple 6-page essay about what you've basically learned from the beginning of the term to where you currently are. Quizzes are given through Canvas and 1 of them is a group essay. The final is very easy, its based on the last 3 pp that she gives.

It was such a pleasure to have Mary for the summer. She is inspirational, intellectual and funny! The class consisted of eye opening lectures, films/documentaries, 2 group assignments ugh lol and one paper based on a personal interview. The book was affordable and an interesting read. I highly recommend taking her she is truly an inspiration.

Prof Romo is passionate about Chicano history and makes the class interesting. She uses the syllabus and goes over everything that is on it. She brings articles, calendars, and magazines that are related to the chapters. If you are struggling, she will stay after class to help.

Interesting class facilitated by a knowledgeable professor. She makes it her sole duty to teach her students the history of Mexican art, all while keeping a positive attitude. Students from previous semesters come visit her to discuss with her and the class about their endeavors. It is apparent she is a well respected professor here at ELAC.

I really enjoyed Professor Romo's class it was a great way to study Mexican culture and made me open up to Mexican foods and the history behind it. She can work on spending more time on encouraging her students to get off the phones and do engaging activities that make everyone interested in the course. Overall, an easy class just do the work.

The easiest professor I have had in college. Almost no homework. Attendance was not necessary to pass. The class did nothing for the first two months. I took her for 51 and 52 the same semester so I dont really remember what was taught in which class but pre-coronoavirus she lagged it to start class and would teach the last 10 minutes but of course there would be learning involved. She just does powerpoints and then does quizzes after every topic, the quizzes are just true or false.

Professor Romo is the sweetest professor I've had the pleasure of meeting. Before we went into remote classes, I enjoyed her lectures in class. Must watch videos for discussions assignments. Her quizzes are T or F questions. Read your chapters on the book, take notes on the chapter topic guidelines, study and you will pass. Pretty easy class.

Prof. Romo is very knowledgeable. She's sweet and cracks jokes but most students won't laugh for some reason. You have to write alot of papers but she give you chances to redo them for a better grade. She is very inspirational and has made me develop love for my culture

Easy A. Read and do the quizzes and you'll pass. New quiz after every new topic (every 2-3 weeks), 1 paper, and 3 big discussion posts (huge part of grade). Only have to read every other week. Organized, flexible, nice, understanding, simply love her.

If you need to check off one of your course requirements during summer/winter, look no further. This is a no brainer, go with Professor Romo. Readings can be done in one or two days. Quizzes were 20 questions T/F, three discussion assignments , and some videos. One of the most interesting and easiest classes I have taken. You won't be disappointed.

Definitely take this if you have a heavy semester and need an easy A. You'll need to read the assigned book to take the tests and do the assignments but luckily there aren't many.

Spring 2023. Can you believe there were only 7 assignments the whole semester? She gives you like 3 weeks to read a couple chapters and a whole week for the quiz. If you actually wanna read you need to buy the textbook. 4 quizzes, 2 discussions, and the final. Both quiz and final are T/F questions (thx AI). DEFINITELY RECOMMEND for heavy schedules.

This has been my second time that I have had Professor Romo and I love her lectures. Her assignments are pretty easy. As long as you do the discussions and do well in the quizzes it is an easy A. I would really recommend her. :)

I took her online spring class and honestly it was a good class. There's a few discussions with plenty of time to do them. She is understanding and replies to emails. Just do your work and read the assigned readings and you will pass this class.

This class is really what you make of it. Many resources are provided to learn in depth on Chicano History, however the assignments are few, and extremely easy (2 written comments, 5 T/F Quizzes.) While the provided resources are great, the required book (loan from library if needed!) veers towards colonial apologism at points, which was not cool.

Such a lovely professor, she definitely loves what she does and cares for her students. Barely gives any work except for casual reading and quizzes. But, if you are here to learn about the topic of the class you wont learn much. She does provided with videos and readings but usually in class she will have rambles rather than sticking with lecture.
