Be prepared to read the book & Powerpoint slides. You have essay tests in her class. They are one page per question answers. You also have group presentations and a book report. It's very involved, but in the end you will learn a lot!
Good teacher...somewhat boring
Easy class. Study the powerpoints. Class is boring, lots of "busy work".
Ethics with Dr. Saunders wasn't so bad. It was pretty interesting and Dr. Saunders is very consistent in her teaching. Tests are ALL essays...first test, I freaking wrote until my hand felt like it would fall off. But, I'm doing great in her class and I look forward to more in the future. Good pick!
She is very consistent, nice and will help you if you need extra help. I would definitely take her again!
The tests are straight from the powerpoints and are all essay questions. You have one project and a presentation...pretty easy class but you still have a lot of work to do.
Saunders has high expectations and you will know the material if you take good notes and study them. She has a great open door policy and wants the best for all of her students.
Dr. Saunders is an excellent teacher. Do yourself a favor and get over the essay test. She is right you do have a better chance of getting a good grade, if you know the material. She is not easy but not all that hard either. Study and you will do well in this class. Above all else, expect to participate in class. Ethics is an intersting subject.
odd teaching style, sorta absent minded at times..very discussion oriented and she'll kinda half-ass teach the chapters via powerpoints - but you will be tested on it as if she's covered it. There's a bit of work, project, book review, essay tests, but if you work at it and read the book (not just the powerpoints), you'll be ok. she grades fairly if not leniently, and you can pick like 3 out of 5 essay questions - which helps if you have big holes in your studying. -- update: i'm not sure what has changed. I'm taking her ethics class now and she has kind of become overly sensitive and paranoid about everyone reading the chapters and articles. It wasn't like that in management class. Just be sure to visit the company webpage, study the CEO life, and just about every darn detail with every article - yet you can't use Wikipedia or something all-in-one, which would provide that type of info. Bleh.
It is a very difiicult class. It will ruin your GPA. It is not much chance to better a grade. It is 4 essay questions one page long at least, and each question is 25 points, so if you miss one you get 75 points, if you get the rest perfect. It is very difficult.
She's a good professor. She likes class discussion, so it would benefit you to speak up & participate. tests are essay based and you must study the chapters & powerpoints in order to do well. She expects a lot from her students, but if you show that you're trying she takes that into consideration.
She does essay tests & u have to write them out, she takes forever w/ get'n ur grades back, hopefully u never have to take BUSN 2105 b/c not only does her teachin suck but the material is soo dry! She doesnt like students using laptops shes very suspicious bout it, prob cuz shes allergic to technology even thou she teaches @ the campus of tomorrow!
Don't take her, save yourself the misery. She is condecending, and just way too harsh. I can't wait to get out of the room, I feel like as a class we are also get'n scolded by our grandma. I want to rip my face off every class, don't take her. If I can save 1 person w/ this my job is complete. Hardest common sense class!
Easy class if you study. Essay tests, handwritten. One group presentation which is somewhat easy. Teacher was ok. Very strict about phones, laptops, and going to the bathroom during tests. I think she should be a high school teacher instead. Its not a college environment in her classroom.
Ithink you waaonderful teacher.
Dr. Saunders is a nice women, but teachers like she believes her students are in Middle School. This is not a college class or a college professor. In this class I am 12 yrs old and in 7th grade all over again. Very frustrating for such a potentially interesting subject as Ethics.
Agreed with this guy under me who rated her.Totally a weirdo in the sense she treats everyone as a child, makes me sick. I hated her and the way she handled herself, please retire old lady.
Try to aviod taking Dr. Saunders if you can. She is not fair in the way she grades. Her tests are completely uneven...the first test a joke it was so simple and then her final about killed me. She also doesn't prepare you for the tests at all. You'll go into them without a clue what will be on it--just hoping you studied the right thing.
Totally disagree with other comments ... she was great! She likes it when everyone gets involved in discussions. She did require a paper and project during the semester - lot of work but doable!
Stuck in the last century, reluctant to use new tech. Actually said not to use advanced vocabulary and that you shouldn't look up what unknown words mean. Teaches as if she has no personal bus. com. experience. Despite what she says, while her tests aren't technically essays, they require as much writing. 6 written pages for the first test?!?!
Very bad teacher. Boring class. She says to read the chapter and that she will give pop quizes on it, but she doesn't. Tests ARE essays. Do not read the book! Study the powerpoints and you will do better. Avoid this teacher if you can!
Do everything Dr. Saunder's way. 5 min presentation + another 15 min as part of a group presentation. Exam pick 6 out of 10 questions, answers should be directly from her the PowerPoints she posts. Read a mgmt book that she approves & write paper. Doesn't appear to have any extra credit opportunities.
I hate hard professors and she was rather difficult, but after I finished her class, and I felt as though she was an excellent prof. she was very kind and helpful. I really liked her class
not good at all! anytime i ask any question, she just says look at the syllabus, even if it isn't on there. she's never worked in the field and the tests are questions like: "list the 8 types of strategic management and explain." and if you dont get them perfectly, you will AT LEAST have half credit taken off. Completely unreasonable!
Essay tests. The only problem is there are only 2 tests - both of which are AFTER the drop date. You have ZERO grades before drop date - so If you bomb the first exam - you are screwed. Not sure how a nursing degree means you are qualifies to teach Business Ethics. I dropped the class.
Dr. Saunders is mad cool. Just make sure you come to class all the time and do all of your work and you will do great!
Dr. Saunders was pretty great. Don't buy the book, it is seriously not needed. All test material comes from power points. Must attend lecture! Presentation, book review, 3 tests. Lots of class discussion. She is fair, expects you to do well. She has two sons college age and doesn't tolerate bad excuses about late assignments etc. Would take again.
Dr. Sanders expects students to present themselves as professionals, after all, we're studying MANAGEMENT. She puts out the syllabus and follows it. Tests are essay so you HAVE TO STUDY THE POWERPOINTS that she posts. She does not post grades on blackboard. Have to read a book by a management theorist. Post course the info has been useful!
The career change was a bit interesting but very well rounded professor. Participate in the class discussion and the homework and you should pass her class. I personally like essay tests but if you don't this may not be the professor for you.
She is a fun teacher. She really tries to get to know you as a person instead of just as a student. Her class was really easy. Make sure you participate in class and you will be fine. I would recommend her.
She is total(rhymes with witch)! She grades unfairly and doesn't stick to her word. According to the syllabus I could turn in an assignment late but she refused to accept it. I didn't turn it in on time because I was required to be in court. Don't take her class.
Where do I begin? She seemed nice at first, but then she started trying to teach. It takes us 20 minutes to even start the class because she gets busy talking about pointless things. Very unreasonable tests; you have to memorize lists from the textbook, if you forget or miss one question, minus 17 points. She also treats you like a sixth grader.
She is not clear about anything that she gives lectures on. She expects "perfection" on every assignment and she can be a real smart-alic, if you don't show any interest in her class. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HER AT ALL
I WAS interested in this class BUT after taking her, I'll settle for a "C" just to not have to take her again. She is not clear on assignments and grade hard even if you answer the question the way she say she want it answered. You have to be perfect by her standards to get an A, she is not working with you at all.
Dr. Saunders is passionate about what she teaches and that is reflected in her class. She uses a good amount of articles related to the subject matter which makes it easy to relate real world practices to the text. If you study the material, class discussions and articles, you will do well. I really enjoyed her class and would take her again.
Only a handful of grades for an entire semester, with most after the drop date. All material comes from powerpoints or magazine articles from years ago. Incredibly limited vocabulary, which may lead to deductions on tests. Would not recommend.
She is an amazing professor. Dr. Saunders is extremely passionate about her students. Her class is extremely challenging but I understand why - She wants to challenge us and encourage us to be a better student and person. She wants us to understand that outside of GGC, everything won't be as easy in the real business world. You have to work HARD.
Dr. Saunders is well versed in her subject. I didn't like her course structure. Only 2 tests, a group project, semester long journal, and some pop quizzes. Tests require intense memorization of her powerpoints. Book rarely used. I did well, but the her approach is difficult. Never posts grades. Too late when you find out, with so few assignments.
I got an A in the class, but had to work for it. I liked how Prof. Saunders engaged the classrooms with her lectures and liked her very thorough syllabus and grading rubrics. Her tests are entirely from her powerpoints. The articles she asked us to read were good, but the pop quizzes she gives ask the most trivial of questions. Does not use D2L
Similar to previous posts, I wasnt thrilled having to take her at first, but as time went on I began to enjoy her class. She does not really teach the material, you need to do that yourself, but the class discussions are beneficial. You can only miss like 4 class before losing a letter grade, so if you take her go to class. Also she is very nice.
she is not too hard. two exams in class, and both are from powerpoints. the only problem is long presentation
She gives tests straight from the power-point; however, know everything. You'll be asked to pick 6 of 12 Questions, such as "List and briefly explain the 8 steps in the decision making process that were discussed in class" or "List and briefly explain 4 of the newest concepts in organizational design"(An actual test) I avoid every class she teaches
Easy A; if you study her power points thoroughly. All test questions come from her power points, test format is short answers. She gives you 12 options and you choose 6-7 questions to answer. She will not ask definitions on exams. Overall, study power points, come to class, and you are guaranteed an A. Do not buy textbook, waste of money!
Gives very few grades (only had tests and project grades), so they are worth a lot. Her tests are pure memorization. Most questions are straight from the powerpoints. She is a very "old school" teacher. One group presentation that has to be 45 minutes. Her lectures are interesting because she goes off on tangents. I only disliked the few grades.
Okay professor but, discourages class discussion and treats you like an idiot most of the time. Not totally awful. Also a ridiculously hard grader
If your not good at memorizing this is not the class to take. Her test are pure memorization. She also has a group project which has to be 45 min long. You will never know how your doing in class because she doesn't post grades. I passed but it was a struggle.
Dr. Saunders does a great job of conveying the contents of the course. She encourages class participation. There are no surprises on the tests and although the syllabus says you need the book, her power point presentations contain all the material you need to do well on the exams.
Dr. Saunders was a great professor. However she does demand for you to be professional in class. For every week, there are articles that you will have to read and print out. She takes them as a grade. A few pop quizzes. Interesting lectures. One essay project. 3 exams that are essay questions. Memorize powerpoints to do well on exams.
Through the whole course there is not one time you can look at your grades. She does not post grades on D2L AT ALL!!!! So you are going blinded all the way to finals. The take home final is not multiple choice but essay questions. Not easy at all.
There's only 2 tests, group project, resume & cover letter assignment through the semester. Tests are straight memorization from the book and MUST answer them in complete sentences. Be aware of not being able to see any of your grades on D2L. Places final grades once semester is over. Makes smart remarks about those not doing good in the class.
Dr. Saunders it's a very nice lady. Her tests are all short answers, she does give partial credit though., She is a very harsh grader and gives quizzes on material we never talked about. for example she literally says this wasn't on your reading, but I'm still going to ask you this.
Read your syllabus every day after class before the next class. "Slightly longer than short answer" tests are really short essays with questions being specific enough to not allow for general learned understanding, so be ready to memorize. Graded by few grades, plenty of reading, and a group project. Dr. Saunders is both kind and ruthless.
AWFUL. Her tests are so difficult, and quizzes are ridiculor. Everything is pure memorization -- sometimes the material you will study won't even be on the test. Only 6 grades throughout the whole semester -- 3 tests, 1 project, and 2 quizzes. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME ON HER.
She is very clear as far as what to expect from her course, on the first day of class. Throughout the lecture she pretty much tells you what will be on the exam. She is tough but it is clear that she is passionate about teaching and her focus is for her students to actually learn. Participate in class, prepare for exams, check schedule before class
Quizzes and tests were difficult, but she does give you all material to be prepared for them. Took her this summer, we had a group presentation, 3 exams, 2 short answer and the final was a 3 page essay. If you study (I crammed the day before), you can pass. Caring and understanding but is strict. If you cant get MGMT teacher you want, take her.
I LOVE HER! She is amazing at what she does. Her test are hard if you do not study. If you are good at remembering things then take her class. Her test are easy bullet form. One group project . I would take her again I really love her. Shes a sweet heart and really cares for her students
Dr. Saunders gives you all of the information you will need for the semester on the first day of class. If you have any questions, chances are that it is on the syllabus. Anyone who had a hard time in this course either didn't pay attention, didn't do the work or needed to blame someone else for their own laziness. Plus, she's an awesome professor!
She's sweet, but as a professor... honestly? Substandard. She reads off the PPT, while lecturing about public speaking skills. Class schedule is unclear. Textbook is only used once for a project, otherwise supplemental. She is tech challenged and will never update your grade on D2L. She requires A LOT of printing. Tests are short answer. PPTs nice.
She had us buy a leadership book and read important articles based on leadership. We discussed and participated, as participation was mandatory. She often asked how we were doing when we first entered the class which showed she cared about us. Pretty great professor.
I took her Saturday class. She barely assigns any homework, and her tests were open-note exams. The answers were straight from the textbook (which you can find for free online btw). We had to write a paper for the last exam but it was easy and no right/wrong answer. She just reads off the PPTs yes but it's impossible to fail if you just show up.
There are few assignments you do in this class & the teacher can be a harsh grader. She uses ppts as lectures & participation is a huge part of your grade. She's very nice though & will try to work with you, but that does not mean she will budge on her grading per se. Deviate from ambiguous instructions she gives & your grade will be hurting.
I took her over the summer. We had 2 tests, 1 annotated bib, and a few assigned readings. Easy grader if you follow her rubric. Both tests were open book and open notes. Participation matters, so don't be shy. Make sure to read the additional articles she mentions. They will appear as test questions.
She was a decent professor. I took the class online so everything was provide, exams were mainly from the notes she provided. She gives very good feedback on the Resume/CV. Very passion teacher!
Professor Saunders is okay. Somethings she said didn't sit right with me, but the class was overall okay. For example, she very often treats students like children & it can be annoying. However, syllabus is very helpful, provides clear info on every & all assignments. Open note written exams (3) + 1 big project.
I would never take her again. I was appalled at the way she spoke to students, just super disrespectful and rude. She took it personally if you didn't speak up or have your camera on. There were only 3 grades and it's impossible to know how you're doing in the class since she doesn't grade quickly or give feedback. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Dr. Saunders is a relatively easy professor and typically easy going. She reads the ppts and holds class discussions. Graded only by tests & few assignments. Participation/attendance matters a lot, but be warned, Dr. Saunders makes it a habit to use up all the class time. every. single. time. Tests are easy, &come from the ppt. easy prof but boring
3 Tests, 1 Annotated Bib (3 pages), 1 Research Study. A lot of reading and lectures are ppt.
Dr. Saunders is such a kind and caring woman I really enjoyed getting to know her as a person. As long as you show up to class, take notes, and read prior to class you'll do fine. There's only 3 exams, one annotated bibliography, and 6 GGC research surveys. She doesn't assign any busy work which I appreciate. She truly cares about her students.
She takes it personal if you do not have your camera on. You could be in the hospital and she still will put up a huge fit saying you need your camera on. You could also attend her class and do everything she wants, and she will still throw little side remarks when you don't answer every single question. She's rude and grades super unfairly.
The class is just her reading off of powerpoints, and she gets snappy some times when people aren't answering her. It is REALLY hard to tell if you're doing well in the class because there's only like 5 grades. The tests are short answer, but it took me 2 hours and 30 mins to finish every time.
5 grades: 2 tests (bulleted essays), cover letter/ resume, speech script, and participation. No camera? No participation points. Reads exactly off the power points. Seems to get personally offended over lack of response, no camera, and short answers. Easy A, mentally draining
Mary Saunders is an awful professor, Her classes consist of her reading straight off her PowerPoint. She often gets sidetracked causing the class to go over its required time because she did not get all her points across. She only has 5 grades so if you get a bad grade on one ITS OVER. She does not care for her students honestly. Take another prof.
She does not post ANY grades to D2L. I only knew my test grades and had know idea how I was doing in the class the whole semester.
I took this class in the summer. Her class is not hard. Boring lectures, pushes for class discussions. Graded by few things. Only two exams, and they are open note, but she wants the answers exactly her way (specific). Lastly, she makes you do a bibliography, but it isn't too bad. No homework or quizzes. Definitely a manageable class.
Final grade is dictated by 2 open book exams, participation, and 1 bibliography. Very long and boring lectures, she doesn't post your overall grade to D2L, and she can be mean if you're not paying attention or participating during her lectures. Not great but not terrible, definitely a manageable class.
Dr. Saunders grades really unfairly and only has a few grades throughout the semester so if you miss or fail one or two it's hard to know if you'll pass the class. She does not give extensions or extra credit. I am going through a very hard long term break up (4 years) and she wouldn't give me any grace or let me make up any assignments.
The class material is easy as long as you keep up. However, I have several nitpicks. Only a handful of graded items are offered in the semester, and the grade is not updated until the end of the semester. She reads off the PowerPoint and gives mind-numbing and uninspiring lectures. Overall, she is ok, but a mediocre professor at best.
Every class, she just read off the PowerPoints and your grade only depended on 4 assignments and participation. If you take this class, be sure to read the instructions as clearly as possible as she is a very strict grader.
You're graded off very little and you shouldn't expect your grades to come in a timely manner. She wants you to participate in class but makes it the most grating and publicly embarrassing experience ever. The textbook is useless and you wont ever touch it. If you have to take her, just make sure you take notes on the extra stuff during ppts.
She is known for her strict grading, which is true, however, it would be beneficial to ask her for feedback on what you did wrong on the test so you can improve. There is a textbook provides valuable information, and utilizing it can enhance your understanding of the subject matter. She appreciates when students show they care about their grades.
If you don't put in the work, don't expect to get an easy A. She's sort of strict in the syllabus; everything was there, and she planned everything. We had 3 tests, 1 annotated bib, and a SONA assignment, which were surveys. I liked her. Just take the chance to get the class over with. She's not as bad as her her rates give her.
Few assignments, boring lectures, and overall uninspiring. Avoid, as you won't know your grades until the very end. Very rigid on assignment requirements.
Very bad professor. There are almost no instructions for assignments, she does not provide rubrics for assignments, and she does not provide any sort of feedback on where you missed points in assignments, she just puts the grade and thats it. Avoid at all costs.
