This has been my favorite class at bauer so far. She is prepared to answer any question you may have because she has a lot of experience in accounting. She teaches with real life examples that help you see the applications of the things you learn in class. I learned A LOT with her, and she teaches you VALUABLE stuff that you can use in your life.

When I had a bit of difficulty in understanding a concept, I visited her office hours, where she clearly explained the concept and worked out some problems with me. If you pay attention, the class is easy: I made 100s on two tests, and a 98 on my final.

The tests are difficult but its more of concept questions. You should be prepared to read if you actually want to understand the material. Sykes has online lecture videos saved and I use that to understand the topics. Utilize everything she gives you and you will be fine.

Professor Sykes is an amazing professor. Well organized and SUPER helpful. Teaches Accounting in a manner in which anyone can grasp it. If you follow the syllabus, attend class, and do the assignments- YOU WILL SUCCEED. Hands down favorite professor and class of the year.

Prof.Sykes is very sweet towards her students. She can go over the chapters a little fast, so I would recommend joining the office hours with the TA. Her online lectures are also available. There are Pre-chapter assignments, chapter homeworks, and end-of-chapter quizzes. 2 exams and 1 comprehensive final, which are taken at Garrison.

Professor Sykes is extremely nice and you can tell that she cares about her students. She posts all lectures and reviews on Canvas ahead of time and is willing to answer any questions in class. The course is coursework heavy, but if you start assignments when she recommends, then it isn't too hard to keep up with. Definitely take her course!!

Gave major curves on exams. Keep up and do assignments honestly, and study the slides for an A. Her voice is monotone, so I self-taught using slides while she spoke. In-class quizzes are scheduled. She's the sweetest person ever! Learning and memorizing the subject itself isn't all you have to do. The best advice is to learn what the exams are telling you, since it's not as direct as her assignments. Her curve is what saved me!

Professor Sykes is a great professor, with a clear grading criterion, and a well-organized Canvas page. She posted plenty of videos and reviews on the Canvas page to help students understand the material and prepare for the exams. Professor Sykes was readily available to help students after class and during office hours on a weekly basis.

I took her as a 4 week course so the work load was heavy. But she is a great professor and lectures very well and willing to help if you don't understand. If you are looking for a hands on easy going professor this is her. All exams are in CASA.

She's a very sweet and driven person who will take your success seriously. She offers curves on tests and drops the lowest one. She's hilarious and very kind. She makes your time a priority, and she answers every question she gets in class.

Professor Sykes is a really good professor. If you can't make it to the class, there are videos for each chapter, and she provides additional review worksheets. There are 3 exams, including a final. She is very understanding, just communicate with her if any issues arise, she is very willing to help you. She definitely enjoys what she does.

Sykes clearly loves what she does and is very caring. However, she is monotone and her lectures are long and arent too engaging, so if you don't do well with that, you might not be able to do well/focus in her class. She does give a lot of resources to help on exams and is very communicative. The course load is easy, but make sure to study!

Professor Sykes is amazing!She truly cares about all her students and she does a great job simplifying accounting. It's a tough course so make sure to keep up with the material along with her classes. Only reason I got a B was because the last Final as it is cumulative and I ran a blank, however if you study and keep up you will be fine.
