So nice! Good interesting teacher!
Made me want to minor in psych!
good teacher
Shes interesting enough-- the course is good in itself. Study some and youll do just fine!
Not hard at all if you go to class, read, and study a little before the tests. Dr. Taylor is really nice and helpful and the course is interesting in itself.
Very Good Teacher!!
Fun class, you learn alot although grade may not reflect. Test are hard so do your work read and study.
I didnt find the class to be all that easy... 4 tests... each 25 % of your grade.. i made a C in her class.. shes a nice teacher but the tests are hard...
her class is really interesting and her tests are VERY easy!! mostly vocab. she gives you a study guide the lecture before the test! take her! shes easy and you learn a lot
Is a very good teacher and can keep your attention. But the tests are VERY hard. Read the book and practice the online quizzes.
I recommend this teacher highly. The class is very interesting and VERY EASY as long as you read the book and do the online quizzes. Minimal studying before the exams as long as you pay attention and read you'll definately make a A.
She is very interesting and makes this class fun. This may be one of your more enjoyable classes for the semester. Tough to get an A though (requires extra reading of the book)
Great Teacher!! Very clear about what's going to be on the tests and what's not. Tests are kind of hard, you HAVE to read the book.. but as long as you read the book and know the vocab you shouuld make at least a B. Really nice and keeps your interest! Take her if you can!!
Dr. Taylor makes psychology very interesting. You have to read a lot in the text book because half of the tests come from the book. But she doesn't make the final cumulative and she is always willing to help a student! Very good professor.. take her!
Really good and easy teacher. Best class I had last semester. Would recommend to anyone.
lectures are great. she's very knowledgable about what she teaches. as long as you do a good amount of studying the tests turn out to be fairly easy. entertaining class if you like psychology
Wonderful professor. Class was interesting and tests are not cumulative (even the exam). Available if you need help and tells you what you need to know. You DO, however, have to read the book in order to do well on the tests. She throws in a couple of questions on material not discussed in class to make sure you read. If you can, get her!
she is extremely helpful. I'm international student so I had some problems with understanding the topics, so after each class I she would stay longer and review the material with me again. And then she would be thankful that you came ask her for help. How ridicioulsy amazing is that!
She was a very good teacher but I felt that the tests were extremely difficult and hardly came from the study guide at all.
Taylor is great! I took her maymester class, and I would recommend it to anyone.
i really enjoyed taking professor taylors class. it was definitely more work than i thought it would be, but she is a great teacher. although the book sort of rambles sometimes, as long as you read it and put some effort into your studying you should be able to do fine on the tests. she gives a few extra credit opportunities too so take them!!!!
I loved Dr. Taylor's class! She's very clear and her notes are organized (and always posted on blackboard in case you miss class). She's incredibly helpful and understanding. I'd never taken psych before, but her class made me so interested that I'm considering it as my minor. I would definitely recommend her! Just make sure you read the book too.
She was a GREAT teacher. You could tell she loved Psychology and wanted to teach it. She came to class organized and ready every time. Take her for 201 if you can! As long as you go to class, listen, and know the key terms from the chapters you'll make A's on the tests. Very nice and helpful woman!
Very interesting, but her tests come a lot more from the book than the notes... you definitely have to read the book. I really like this class, but the tests are pretty hard.
She is really interesting and knowlegable about the subject. She makes the lectures interesting. However, the tests are incredibly difficult. They are from the book not the lectures and the questions are tricky. She is really approachable and the research participation component helps your grade, but the tests still make it tough. Not an easy A
Taylor was a descent professor. She lectures most classes with a few random activities thrown in. The tests are on the difficult side because the diction she uses on them is from the book. I'm a visual and auditory learner so when i took the exam i had issues translating what i learned in class into the right answers. They are all multi choice.
Dr. Taylor is great, her lectures are interesting and she keeps the class entertaining by showing clips. The tests are easy if you know the vocab terms( which at times can be alot) and study the study guides..Take her if you can!
Went to class, studied, read the book and still made a C. Class avg was mid 70's on all exams. Decent lectures but DIFFICULT exams. Lots of case studies. Find someone else for psych 201.
Very nice teacher but tests are hard. Not necessary to go to class as long as you read the book and know the key terms. Tests are mostly from the book but she usually throws in a couple random questions. experiment participation counts for 5% of your grade but isn't worth it cause it won't really help and takes up too much time.
Class is an easy A+ IF AND ONLY IF you read the book and memorize key terms. Attendance is not mandatory, but there are 2-4 questions on a 40 all multiple choice test about short videos you watch in class (she goes over whats important in the video). Pleasant teacher and is willing to help
This class is not in the least bit hard, and if you find this class hard you might want to reconsider coming to Clemson. The tests are really straight forward: Memorize the key terms, look over power points, and make an A. Would highly recommend.
You'd be lucky to have Dr. Taylor as a professor if you are at ALL interested in psych! She explains everything in such an interesting manor and tells a lot of personal stories relating to what you learn. This was by far my favorite class this semester! All the tests are exactly what she says they will be. Just pay attention and study.
She is a true delight, that makes Psych interesting.
Such a sweet lady! Always in a good mood and willing to help. Class is interesting because she shows a lot of video clips to supplement her lessons. Take notes but also read the book. Tests are easy but she will throw in a few random questions that are only from the text book and not from the class notes. Overall though it is a fairly easy class.
Dr. Taylor is such a nice lady! Every section is straightforward, easy to understand, and she answers any questions if needed. Make sure you get the research requirements out of the way early in the class. Easiest class I've taken so far. Just go to class, take all notes, and know your key terms for tests.
Dr. Taylor is an amazing professor. She's always cheerful and is very interested in her student's learning. The tests are pretty easy if you've read the book, because she includes questions in the chapters that aren't in class notes. She's willing to help out any student who asks. She speeds through her notes, but she's always willing to slow down.
Dr.Taylor is a great teacher! She's always smiling, bubbly, and you can tell she really enjoys teaching. If you read the book, know the key terms, and attend class you should have no problem making an A. I'd suggest printing her powerpoints before class to take notes on because she gives some really good examples in class. Take her if you can!
She is awesome!! Super sweet lady and is a great professor. Her lectures are interesting and easy to follow. Just read the book and listen in class and it is an easy A. Attendance is not mandatory but it is really helpful to listen to the lectures.
Class is not hard if you read and study the glossary for the tests. She makes Power Points for all the material and coming to class, while not mandatory, is very helpful.
Did not like this professor at all. Her lectures are only the main points of the material so when she says "Know about Freud's theories" you have no idea what exactly you need to know. I read every chapter in depth and still was lost on the tests. Make sure to do the research points. Overall terrible experience.
She is a great teacher and makes the class interesting. Attendance is not required but she takes attendance just to see how many people come or not. She posts power points on BB too. Final is not cumulative. Have to read book though.
I would not recommend her, find a different professor if you can. Her class was weirdly picky and the questions did not really correlate with what you learned in class. It was just a lot of material and she would choose the smallest detail. She was not very cooperative if you tried to meet with her outside of class.
Dr. Taylor is extremely nice and helpful. She makes the class interesting and always shows a lot of cool videos. The textbook helps, but she does a great job of covering everything that's in the text. One of my favorite teachers I've had at Clemson.
Dr. Taylor is the BEST! She's super sweet and her class is so interesting. She's extremely organized - all notes/videos are online and all grades, etc. are posted in a very timely manner. She's super helpful and class almost always gets out at least 10 minutes early. Definitely take her class if you can!
Dr. Taylor is so sweet and is obviously passionate about her field. The way to get an A is to pay attention in class (yes, go to class) and to know the key terms in the book.
It's very clear what you want on the test. If you have a problem with how you did on the test, she will tell you where you messed up and where the information could be found. You have to read the book as she asks questions from the book and doesn't cover them in class to make sure you're reading. She's very nice and I would recommend her.
She is very sweet and if you email her she will respond with helpful information. She cares for her students and she wants everyone to do well. I would take her, just make sure you study the key terms and read the book!
Dr. Taylor is wonderful! Lectures are very interesting. If you study the notes and the vocabulary of all the chapters, you should make an A!
Dr. Taylor's lectures are usually very interesting and engaging. Class only meets twice a week with an online module on Fridays, which is a nice break. I found the tests very challenging because Dr. Taylor only covers a small amount of the material in class and the rest you have to read in the textbook, which is cumbersome.
Dr. Taylor is great, truly cares about the students. However, you are only given four tests so if you screw up if hurts your grade a lot especially since they are not curved and you don't have a chance for extra credit.
Dr. Taylor was an amazing teacher! She makes it very clear what you are and are not expected to know for the test. Go to class and read the book and you should get an A. The tests are essentially all vocabulary from the textbook.
I took her fall 2015. I enjoyed the class, though I probably skipped about 40% of the time. I never took notes in class, but read the book/skimmed her powerpoint notes for the tests and made an A on every one. None of the tests are cumulative. I thought she was a good professor, and I definitely learned the basics of psych. Solid class. Easy A.
Dr. Taylor's class is awesome. She knows so much about the entire field of psychology so it makes the class really interesting. She takes attendance but it does not go towards your grade so you do not have to go. You do have to read the textbook, or at least the vocabulary in it, since she has a lot on the tests that weren't in lecture.
She is a super nice lady, but her class is very difficult. The test are predominately based off the readings in the book. If you don't like to read the text DONT TAKE HER!!
Dr. Taylor is one of the most caring professors, really wants you to succeed in the class by meeting with you to discuss tests and how to study better/more efficiently, as well as really understand psychology. Test performance is incredibly important, tests are 95% of your final grade.
Hardest class I took this semester. Shes puts things on the test that you dont learn in class and expects you to know everything in the book. The chapters are 40 pages long and are usually 3-4 chapters on each test.
Dr. Taylor is one of the most straightforward professors Ive ever had - her lectures are super informative but usually end early and she tells you exactly what you need to know for the test. If you study and memorize the vocab words from the chapters in the book this class isnt bad at all.
Dr. Taylor is fantastic! Loves teaching psych & wants her students to succeed. Always clear about what info will be on the test & what info won't. All I did was listen in class (her lectures are interesting & usually end early), skim her powerpoints, and skim the textbook chapters & I got an A in the class. Make sure you know all of the vocab!
She is a very nice teacher anytime I needed help she always welcome me with open arms in her office hours I must say its not hard but you have to study and know the material she does reviews before every test. Make sure you read the book because thats Was my downfall she gave us material we needed for the test but pulls 5-10 questions from book
Dr. Taylor is very sweet and good at teaching Psych. She makes sure students understand the material before the test. She is very willing to help with anything. You need to read the textbook because a lot of the information for the tests come from the vocal and readings in the book. If you know the study guide she gives you, you should be fine.
She is excellent, and posts all the PPT slides at the beginning of the semester. In order to perform well, just memorize the vocabulary from the lectures and modules in the book. She also typically has an in class review before each exam where she emphasizes the most important material. Final is not cumulative, which is helpful!
All lecture slides posted online. Go to class bc she gives reviews and it is almost essential for success. READ THE BOOK. lot on the test is taken from there. Awesome professor and is caring. Study lecture slides, review, and vocab in book and you should be good. not too hard to get an A if you study
She is my all time favorite professor. She clearly communicates everything you need to know on exams in class. She will go over every single piece of content covered on the exam in her lectures. Make sure you go to class and listen to these lectures. The course is interesting as well so the class is really enjoyable to go to.
10/10 would take her again. She makes lectures interesting and test questions are straightforward. Study all of the lecture notes, skim the reading and you'll be good for exams. Sometimes adds a curve to tests. Make sure you get on the research credit component early on or you'll have to take quizzes at the end of the semester to make it up.
Dr. Taylor is my favorite professor by far!! The class only has 4 grades, which are 4 exams (and no final exam). She always tells you what exactly to expect on each exam. Also, she often curves her exam grades. She's very sweet and approachable, and her lectures are VERY interesting with examples and videos of topics, going beyond the ppt slides!!
By far my FAVORITE professor this semester! The class is a lot of reading for sure (you really have to read the textbook or you'll do bad on the tests), but she posts the notes online & has review days before the tests. She really genuinely cares about her students & wants to see them succeed. Only bad thing is your grade is determined by 4 tests.
Dr. Taylor is an absolutely amazing professor. She is so sweet and caring. The only reason you'll need the textbook is for vocabulary, because that is on her tests. Her tests are really easy and as long as you pay attention, you'll do fine.
Dr. Taylor is an incredibly clear communicator, even as we transitioned to online classes for the end of the semester (COVID-19). She gives you the information you need to know for the exams AND makes it interesting to learn. She includes her psychology knowledge in how she teaches the class and doesn't expect too much from the students. 10/10
Sweetest professor ever! This class was a breeze and she makes everything so simple and easy to understand. The longest lecture was maybe 25min long. There are opportunities for extra credit and the class is weighted equally based on four tests. If you have a chance, take this class! Mary Taylor is amazing!!!
Professor Taylor is great and she is super caring! She records her lectures so you can watch them anytime you want (she also provides the powerpoints). There are four big tests that make up your grade but she has review sessions and gives out study guides so they aren't too bad. I would definitely recommend taking her!
PSYC 2010 with Dr. Taylor is an easy A for sure. She gives a powerpoint for all notes, so you do not need the textbook and gives a powerpoint review for the tests. She also posts recordings of all lectures if you happen to miss class. Her classes are a little boring, but we got out early almost every day. Tests are also non-cumulative
This class was very easy. No final cumulative exam. Four exams throughout the semester. Posts all lectures online and powerpoints. She also has review sessions in class and gives a study guide. Study the study guide and you should make an A.
Dr. Taylor is truly the most accommodating professor I had this semester, there is no homework and your grades are all test based but if you read what's assigned in the modules and go/pay attention in class, then it's a piece of cake. She is super friendly and is passionate about what she's teaching.
Professor Taylor is amazing!! She is super sweet, and her lectures are important, but never the full class length. Attendance is not mandatory, but her teaching is thorough and she goes over everything on the tests in her reviews. I would 1000% take her and/or this class again if given the opportunity.
Prof Taylor was super sweet. I always went to class but she posts the slideshows online so it's not too bad if you miss a class. She also takes attendance but she doesn't take points off if you are not there so attendance is not actually mandatory. Her lectures were very straightforward and she gave us Friday classes off which was super nice!
Dr. Taylor is a great professor. She was always willing to help and was very understanding with absences. She was also able to help any time I needed
Professor Taylor was amazing to learn psychology from. She tells you everything that is on tests and does NOT set you up for failure whatsoever. She is one of the sweetest and most caring professors here. Just make sure you study and review notes every-so often and you will do just fine on the exams. A great person and I would 100% take her again!
Prof Taylor is great! I was a little hesitant to have an online psych course, but I really loved how simple it was! Super easy to follow along with the lectures posted and she answered any questions when we had zoom calls to go over lessons. Also, everything on the slideshows will be on the exams, so they were fairly easy. 100% recommend her!!
Professor Taylor was so sweet and kind! Her class was totally asynchronous other than review sessions. These reviews were cumulative and prepared you well for her online exams. The exams were not too hard and she was happy to answer questions, and gave opportunities for extra credit!
The provided power points (lectures) were easy to follow, and the material was extremely prevalent in the exams. This course was interesting and was very easy for me, as long as I followed the material. I studied minimally for the exams and still did great! I 100% would recommend it.
Very low maintenance online class. You can complete lectures on your own time and gives almost no outside work. Every exam has a comprehensive review. I wouldn't waste money on the textbook since she gives you any textbook content she wants you to know. She does a good job making sure you learn some valuable psychology without too much effort.
Asynchronous summer class: 3 exams you take at some point on the day they're scheduled (no assignments except optional extra credit). She posts review guides that say everything that will be on the exams. Lectures are no longer than 20 minutes. Use the textbook only to reference and skim. Easy A if you study and super interesting class!
Professor Taylor's class was very interesting. Everything that would be on the test was clearly organized on a powerpoint that was available weeks before the test. There were zoom meetings every week that went over each chapter and Professor Taylor explained the material and answered any questions. Definitely would recommend!
TAKE THIS CLASS. You don't need the textbook, despite how much she encourages you to buy it at the beginning of the sem; It is a great class to take if you have a heavy semester and need the credit. You genuinely learn a lot too, despite how little time you need to prepare compared to other stem classes.
Best decision to take psych2010 online with Taylor. She is the absolute sweetest, and you only have to be present during class time for exams. The exams are super straightforward, and she tells you in a ppt exactly what is on the exam and posts it before each unit. No final exam, just four tests. She does do zooms but they are optional!
She's SO sweet! For online, she offers many different versions of lectures for your type. Though it is an exam-heavy class with no other assignments. Her exams are detailed and pulled straight from lectures and textbooks, but they aren't too difficult if you study progressively over time. She does in-depth reviews before each exam, and NO FINAL!
Her class is online, but she teaches through her YouTube videos and side shows. She only does zooms for the reviews. Her videos are good, but are extremely monotone and boring. While taking your test on lockdown browser, if you move your head at all, she will report you for cheating. It's very easy to fall behind if you don't stay on track.
Professor Taylor is very knowledgeable. Her online class is not overwhelming and very easy to keep up with at your own pace. 4 exams and no final. Your attendance is based on watching her pre-recorded lecture videos. She makes review videos for the exams that have all the information you need to get an A.
Teaching style is all online and 4 exams. No extra credit and don't expect to get any help after tests about grades. Sometimes understanding of situations but other times not. Clarity on exams can feel like an issue at times.
For receiving the title of "Dr." I think she is pretty inept. Class is easy, but a 89 doesn't cut it, which is easy to get since exams are 95% of your grade. She WILL NOT help you. IS available outside of class but her DISINTEREST and UNWILLINGNESS in helping you is bigger than her availablilty. Doesn't teach some info but will put in review/exams.
Worked my butt off all semester, but with 95% of the grade on exams, it didn't matter. Emailed Dr. Taylor for help? She refuses to round grades—says adding points isn't worth it and unfair even if its for the entire class. Just a cold lady with no empathy or remorse, perhaps why she's interested in psychology.
While the textbook is necessary, you only need to attend her Zooms, read the slides, and focus on the mini reviews to get a high A. Her Zooms are very helpful as she explains the difficult concepts in depth. Ignore the negative reviews. Taylor is best best out of the psych professors available. Focus on slides, memorize content, and get a high A!
Mary Taylor was a sweet professor that cared about her students and was passionate about psychology. While the grade is only on 4 exams and a research participation credit, the review PowerPoints had all the answers for the exam. If you keep up with the videos and review zooms, you will have no problem getting an A in this class.
Class was easy. Just have to read PowerPoint presentations and the textbook. Graded only on 4 tests and a project that's worth 5% of your grade. Had Zooms before tests as reviews (not mandatory). Tests were lockdown with the camera on.
I don't recommend her class. I've never gone out of my way to write a rate my professor before, but your entire grade is 4 exams and one tiny assignment. No extra credit is given. If you don't do well on 1 exam, your most likely you cannot finish with an A. This is a gen ed. You should have other opportunities for grades.
For her online psy, she will include questions in the tests that she has never even mentioned. Her slideshows only provide half of what is on the tests. No extra credit whatsoever. Only take if you like studying and having your grade dependent on only exams.
Do not recommend this class unless it is a LAST resort option. Basically impossible to get an A in the class if you do badly on ANY of the 4 tests, since tests are weighted as 95% of your grade. I made a 70 on the first test and A's on the last 3, and still finished with a B. Offers 0 extra credit and is unwilling to work with you.
Lots of lecturing, has her own lecture and textbook which you have to read. I know people who don't read it and pass fine though from just her lectures which is possible. The peak usage of resources is watching her lecture vids and taking notes then brushing up major points in textbook. She doesn't round up anything which sucks. Grade was 89.43.
