Great teacher. Teaches without notes..she knows it all and provides insight to causes of various topics. She will take a student's question, answer it completely and tie it back into the topic being covered. Exams are fair, all essay, but grades for content more that for style. I give her an A+++

Awesome professor! You must attend class though, if you don't you are screwed as she only talks, so you must write fast. She gives samples of her previous tests from years, so the tests are very similar to it. She is a interesting person to listen to as she knows what she is talking about. She is flexible as well

Awesome professor but don't think that means you can be a slacker because in this class it won't fly at all. If you don't write that fast bring a recorder and pay close attention. She is very flexible and extremely knowledgeable in her field. Overall read your material on the syllabus I do it after lectures it helps more that way.

Although she knows the material covered in the class it is almost impossible to pass her class(majority of whole class is failing. Tests are not based on what she lectures, past test examples or the book. If you answer a question correct on the test she will mark it wrong anyway due to "lack of depth". AVOID THIS CLASS!She really needs to retire!!!

This teacher was also one of the worst teachers I have ever had. Although she knows the material her grading is all over the place. Anyone used to getting As or Bs expect Cs or Bs. Material covered is not on tests.

People who don't do too well in her class are only that way because they don't study. I read the entire history book - from chapter 1 until 24 (had HIS 101 and 102 with her) - and it made the class a much better experience. If you don't do well with her, you're just lazy - sorry to say.

Recommendation: take her honors; it makes the tests easier. You merely write a paper for every test, and this means you do not have to do the Bibliographic section of the test. This will save you time and your hand. She gives everyone a copy of old tests and if you know everything on those then you will pass the tests. On tests more is better.

Ms. Zimmerman is the best professor. She knows what she is talking about and she is hilarious in class. Take your notes, show up to class, and study. Incredible teacher!

Amazing lecturer. Broad depth of knowledge. Honors was easier, imo, b/c you just write a paper. You have to attend class and take notes, or else you won't make it.

Warning: she might not satisfy your visual needs. And has to be ready to write 2 to 3 pages notes per class. Her lecture is great though. Interesting stuff even if you are not history person. Missing class is critical b/c most quiz and test are based on her lecture!

Ms. Zimmerman's a great lady and a great teacher, first and foremost. She gives a syllabus that has tests she's given in the past which are extremely similar to those you'll be taking. Homework assignments mainly involve reading the book. Tests are essay tests, which are hard on the hand, but so long as you've studied, they're a piece of cake.

Probably the 2nd best History prof. I've taken at NVCC. Use of text as a back up to her lectures; there are three tests and all essay. She lectures by "story telling" on the topic and is full of knowledge - no powerpoint or visuals - just lectures. Syllabus will include examples of previous tests as study guides. Take good notes and you'll do fine.

Professor Zimmerman is probably one of the best HIS teachers that i've had at NVCC. Be prepared to take tons of notes though, because she teaches mainly through lectures. No powerpoints, no handouts. You come to class and its story time. Three essay exams, but if you look on the syllabus she has examples of previous exams which help a lot.

Bundle up for story time, cause thats all she does. Very difficult to stay engaged in her class because it is all lectures.

Not good professor to be with. She thinks she's funny and pick on students. The examns are pretty hard and not clear at all. Very forgetful which to be honest, I don't know why she is still teaching.
