I highly recommend picking Professor Harkas as your professor. Although she's young she's very well respected by her students. She explains topics very well so that you understand, extremely approachable, patient, and overall a great person. Professor Harkas is my top pick for any future science classes I need!

She's nice but the subject is basically memorization. Her exams are fair and easy to pass if you attend lecture and review your notes before the test. She explains the topics in an easy and simple way.

Professor Harkas has changed the way I view biology. Her passion for biology and teaching makes this class enjoyable. Her lectures are to the point and she explains everything in a creative approach. When ever the class is confused about a certain topic, she doesn't hesitate to explain it till we understand it. Take her, you'll enjoy the class!

This professor was alright, she does her job correctly and knows what she is doing. It is odd to have a quiz about last week's lab every week. But this class is easy enough to pass and the professor doesn't strain your head.

She's a great teacher, she actually cares about the students This won't be an easy class you have to show up and actually take notes But if she sees that your trying she'll help you out big time The test are very hard, i literally failed every one but doing all the homework & extra credit really helped out

Prof Harkas is a really good teacher. The lectures are a bit boring (because of the subject) but she gives you A LOT of chances to pass her class so there is no excuse in not getting a good grade if you put the effort. I recommend if you're not a great test taker and don't mind doing extra work for a better overall grade.

Great professor! Knows how to explain the material in an understandable way. She gives 4 exams, the highest 3 count. She is very approachable and is nice and is willing to help all the time. You can tell she really knows her stuff! She seems very humble and young. Her grading is clear and offers many extra credit opportunities.

She is a great professor, could be shy at times so it can make the overall subject a bit boring; but she grades fairly well, and gives a lot of opportunities to do well in the class such as extra credit and study packets before exams which are graded. 4 exams, lowest grade dropped plus a research paper. Just do your work, and you should pass.

She is a great professor. she gives lots of work online but its so easy. At the end of the semester you just have to write a 5 page research paper but its not that much work.

This class for me was amazing, I would take her over and over again if I could. So sweet, truly cares for her students. Test were simple if you studied, it all came from the lecture notes. She really knows the subject. SOO many extra credit opportunities. She is very involved. I also took her lab and it was so fun and chill. She is a very fair.

I haven't been in school for 7 years and she just made it easy. She helped me with any questions I had. lots of hw on line but do able. 4 big test, she drops the lowest. One essay. she give you plenty of time and tells you what has to be done. Do hw, extra credit and study for the test and you should be good. I would take her again.

All of her quizzes and tests are straight from the powerpoint/lecture notes so if you study those you will be fine. She is willing to look over assignments for you. She is very sweet and cares about her students. I took her for Medical terminology my first freshman semester and she made college less scary. Make sure you study with flashcards.

She is a very good professor, you have to work hard to get n A, she explains very well, she knows her subject very well. Even though her class his hard if you pace yourself and work every day you will get a good grade.I will take her again.

Took her for both biology lecture and lab. She is super sweet and genuinely cares about her students. Bio was never one of my best subjects but she explains everything in such a way that is so easy to understand and if you have any issues she is more than happy to help! You won't regret taking her!

Professor Harkas is a very knowledgeable professor. She knows this topic like the back of her hand. Her passion for the material really comes out naturally when essentially "dumbs it down" for the class to understand. The tests can be tricky though, study well. Only downside is her grading and email replies take a LONG time. She makes you work.

Covid class. Overall at first, the class is ok most of the work you can find online and projects can lowkey be found in places. The only thing is that the class got a lot harder as time progresses with quiz answers being hard to find, and some experiments you have to do cause google ain't helping you. Overall weekly assignments and quiz that's it.

I had her for both BSC1005 and the lab, the class isnt hard. You just have to pay attention when she does the test review sessions.

Professor Harkas setup the class with many different assignment types. You have a project, homework, in class assignments, and exams. She is easy to talk to when you need help. I highly recommend her

This course is not an easy one but professor Harkas does simplify things. The grades come from assignments and exams. It is important to attend so you can get points for the assignments.

Really nice lady, the syllabus was clear. after doing a lab you have to do lab report and I think a quiz. There was no midterm or final exam. She helps during labs. Just make sure to know the experiment before going to class. Great teacher

Wasn't in the class long but it's a lot of work, don't leave it for last minute. I recommend making a class group chat or study group .

Professor Harkas was amazing! If you want an easy A, she is definitely your go to. You have three exams, one extended quiz, a final presentation, and online homework. You never take an exam without reviewing. You can get extra credit through kahoot and going to the student success center.

I took her for both Lab and Lecture, in Lab she gave us a syllabus of all the labs we would take. For each lab, you get a grade from pre-lab: outlining the lab before class; the lab worksheet; and the quiz associated with the lab. The quiz is usually about 5 questions. You work in groups of two to four people for each lab.

This class is not easy but the Professor simplified it. I had to study a little bit each day. I recommend studying the notes and completing the assignments

The class is difficult however, if you meet with her during office hours she explains how to study and also gives you extra credit for attending
